"For Bose, Your *hair* can cause these issues. Their customer service well actually ask you if your hair was near your ears! I wish I was joking... ... And then the ANC will start toggling itself between, *Quiet,Aware,Immersion* repeatedly, the stupid voice saying it over, and over again until you put then back into the case to reset them. If you're home that's fine, but if you're in the middle of a 2-hour workout and nowhere near the case you're done. So you have to take them off, stick them in your pocket until you can get back to the car."

BennyBlades44 1.0They use planar magnetic drivers which give insane detail and bass. They have multiple custom eqs and a good mic. Used them for cyberpunk and it was epic haha. These days surround is done software side for the most part so headphones don’t really include 7.1 anymore. I bet I know the headphones your dads friend had I had them they are white and called turtle beach x41 I had them in like 2010 they were soooo cool for their time. The closest you would get to that would be some gen 4 or earlier Astro a50 or something with an optical input so it can decode 7.1. But if you play on console you’d need a monitor or tv with optical output and 7.1 passthrough. The newer consoles have surround on them right out the controller so they got rid of the optical.
FuzionRanger06 0.3A10 was the best headset I’ve had. Got it in 2017, the mic finally broke (physically, it got cut) just a few months ago. Quality audio and good endurance. I went to Gen 2 and it doesn’t quite fit my head the same and everybody complains that my mic volume it too low despite the monitoring being on max.

N0n_Applicable 0.1You’re doing an amazing thing! I owned a pair of the A50s years ago. I really don’t think you can go wrong. If it’s just for PC I guess the regular ones are fine, get the A50X if he plays on console a lot too. Can’t go wrong either way! So unless you’re boyfriend is some kind of Audio snob (like me), these will be more then fine! They worked for me in my college days when I played on Xbox and PC, and the wireless was nice. And that was before the new fancy mix options. Pretty sure you can even get aftermarket memory foam ear cups, super comfy!
PrimeRaiderx_ 0.1There is absolutely no need for the very best headphones because this game has one of the best audios ever. Now I have a good amount of experience with headphones and in my opinion HyperX alphas are TOP tier theyre cheap and affordable, great audio, and no need to configure anything or download software. Ive also owned A50s and nova pro wireless ive messed with the audio settings, sonar, list goes on man and its not that good.. imo gaming headsets are horrible. I strongly recommend you get IEMs they are sooooo good bro I switched last year and never looked back.
shifty_85 0.1I have A50s as well and I use contact VI V and IV they all seem to work great. Or they did maybe an update messed up sound I haven't played in a few weeks
Also I put my A 50s so there's a star and setting 2 I haven't messed with anything I just did that off a friend who recommended that for the EQ and whatever the star is 🤷♂️🤣

AdmiralG2 0.1Astro A50s, used to use them on my PS4 too and they’re still amazing. There’s an updated Gen 5 of them now too. They’re also much more comfortable than any steelseries headset for me

ArmyVeteran11B 0.1I am new to PS switch from XB and I brought over ny Astro A50s to PS, didn't like the performance on PS so I bought Steelseries Arctic Wireless Pro and Pulse Elites. I would return the pulse elites but scracthed them changing out cushions. The Steelseries I really like even better than what the A50s were for me on XB.
