Astro (Logitech) - A50 (Gen 3)

This was one of the couple reason I chose the Nova Pros . I went from A50 Gen 3's to Artics pro to the Nova Pros, the battery swapping, the easier customization that Wicked cushions offer, and the way they look as the blend in a bit better as a regular pair of cans if I had to step out the house with them. The A50s base pissed me off towards the end so I think that's why I soured on them

Looks like my old gen 1 set. My current gen 3 have the big base station and the newer ones have a smaller more compact base station. That headset is very old

Personally, I've been using Logitech Astro products for the past fove years and have been in love with the quality. I'm currently using the Astro A50X. I upgraded from the Astro A50 (3rd Gen). Both are incredible, bit PRICEY.

Unpopular suggestion but if you can spend extra and grab the Astros A50 I think you would be very satisfied. The Audio is Insane especially in FPS games where you can hear the faintest sounds from Afar and listening to music with bass can make them almost shake. The microphone is crisp and I even once had a few drops of water slip inside and it fixed itself in a couple days. I've owned the Gen 3 version for about 8 years now. Not sure how other people's experiences differ and you can do your own due diligence of course but that's what I call a bulletproof headset and getting your money's worth. If this headset ever breaks It will be a no brainer to buy the same one. It even has kits on Amazon for $20 if you want new cushion and pads etc. Edit: If it's for PlayStation I say just get the regular Pulse 3D that are around $100. It wouldn't make sense to spend more than half of the PS5 cost unless you truly want that Quality. I've had them for 4 years and they work great, clean audio and mic while the battery lasts very well. My Astros beat them by far but not enough to the point where I would feel the need to hook it to the PS5 or switch back n forth.

I had 3^rd gen when Best Buy had a price mistake for $110. I sold mine about a year after. I read that the battery on those degraded faster than usual.

Just purchase a set of A20s or above. A50s will get you everything you need AND more but it will cost you an arm and a leg

You’re doing an amazing thing! I owned a pair of the A50s years ago. I really don’t think you can go wrong. If it’s just for PC I guess the regular ones are fine, get the A50X if he plays on console a lot too. Can’t go wrong either way! So unless you’re boyfriend is some kind of Audio snob (like me), these will be more then fine! They worked for me in my college days when I played on Xbox and PC, and the wireless was nice. And that was before the new fancy mix options. Pretty sure you can even get aftermarket memory foam ear cups, super comfy!

There is absolutely no need for the very best headphones because this game has one of the best audios ever. Now I have a good amount of experience with headphones and in my opinion HyperX alphas are TOP tier theyre cheap and affordable, great audio, and no need to configure anything or download software. Ive also owned A50s and nova pro wireless ive messed with the audio settings, sonar, list goes on man and its not that good.. imo gaming headsets are horrible. I strongly recommend you get IEMs they are sooooo good bro I switched last year and never looked back.

I have A50s as well and I use contact VI V and IV they all seem to work great. Or they did maybe an update messed up sound I haven't played in a few weeks

Also I put my A 50s so there's a star and setting 2 I haven't messed with anything I just did that off a friend who recommended that for the EQ and whatever the star is 🤷‍♂️🤣
