"I haven’t had any issues with its weight. ... They are on the heavier side compared to some other gaming headsets, but the weight is really well distributed, thanks to the plush headband and ear pads. ... I’ve worn them for hours, and I haven’t felt uncomfortable or noticed any pressure on my ears."
"I use Maxwells for both work and gaming (up to 4 hours without taking them off) and for me personally the weight is not the issue."
"The suspended headband allows for long hours of gaming session without tiring. ... The ear pads are very comfortable, with air tracks allowing cooler ears."

"the mic not being recognized as functional when everything checks out systematically, weird stuff. ... Today my mic completely won't connect to anything, I BT'd it to my phone, won't register that it's on, used it on my PC, nothing. ... Went to a help page and did all the backdoor stuff with permissions, no change (everything was already correct) just more frustration. ... Too much money to forgive."

"detachable microphone sucks fucking ass though"
"Microphone on these are ass. ... But the boom mic is terrible"
"the microphone quality was TERRIBLE out of the box. ... while talking with a friend to help me fix it, friend requested I switch back to the old headset that I'm trying to replace until we tried a new fix. ... once I found something that worked... an hour later, nope, back to trashy sound."
My Maxwell never left my desk since the day i bought, and i own waaaaaay more expansive (also less) gear to roll.
r/headphones • Is the Audeze Maxwell worth it long term? ->They sound amazing but the default earpads are so shallow I had to buy replacements immediately because my ears were grinding against the drivers badly! But honestly they're the best pair of headphones I've ever owned and I've had A LOT. With the new pads I can wear them 9 hours a day with no discomfort.
r/PS5pro • Audeze Maxwell Headset ->I'd recommend tweaking the EQ a little though once you change the pads. The thicker WC pads dampen the sound a little. Little bass and treble boost in the EQ sorts it out though!
r/PS5pro • Audeze Maxwell Headset ->I use one of the custom EQ profiles. Mine is set like this if you want to try it out after swapping the pads. [EQ profile](https://ibb.co/9mHm7QDc https://ibb.co/qMT8MzZ1)
r/PS5pro • Audeze Maxwell Headset ->I personally just got the Audeze Maxwell, which are essentially a hybrid between gaming and audiophile. They’re closed backs, but they still sound great. I agree that it’s important to take a step away from these overpriced “gaming” headsets that are really just garbage. My previous headset was the Arctis Pro Wireless, which was inferior in every regard, and it was *still* more expensive than the Maxwell’s. Really goes to show how poisonous gaming branding is.
r/pcmasterrace • Another „Gaming Headset“ bites the dust, tired of overpriced/hyped headphones. ->I’m very happy with my Audeze Maxwell headset. The sound quality is impressive. The way it reproduces deep bass at low volume when I’m in a room adjacent to a club in Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t something any other headset I’ve tried does as well in my opinion. They are also great for listening to music. Highly recommended if it fits in your budget.
r/buildapc • What are the Best Gaming Headsets Available Now? ->There is but its literally the only one. Audeze Maxwell. Everything else in the space cannot be considered "Audiophile" quality but the Maxwell is black magic as far as I am concerned. Hell I think the quality is so good it might have been a competitive $400 wired standalone headphone by itself. Its really fucking good lol.
r/buildapc • Audiophile-level Wireless Gaming Headset Recommendation ->While the microphone is "meh" it does a hell of a job keeping unwanted noise out, without any e tra software running or taking up your PCs resources to do so. The Maxwell is incredible for the price lol
r/buildapc • Audiophile-level Wireless Gaming Headset Recommendation ->If you are looking for a wireless 'gaming' headset, and are used to a more neutral tune, like your Sennys, you have to do some research on which headsets come close to that. Out of the box, most gaming headsets have a weird tune compared to what you're used to, including all Razers. Some more recent notable wireless gaming headsets that sound great from an 'audiophile' standpoint are the Audeze Maxwells, Astro A50X, and Hyper X Cloud 3 S Wireless. Those come out of the box with a great tune, close to the Harman curve. You can also get a lot of other headsets to sound great with some EQ. Something like the Fractal Scape or Nova Elite sound great with a modest EQ. GadgetryTech on YT offers awesome 'audiophile' EQs for a lot of headsets. Also, if you are using a modern gaming headset, make sure you have any corny 'surround sound' or spatial type features turned off. Since you've been using the same set for 16 years, you also have to give some time to adjust to the sound of a new headset. Even something slightly different might sound a bit weird at first if you aren't that experienced with different audio products overall. Many people still totally write off any wireless 'gaming' headsets, and imo that perspective is outdated in 2025. You can get really awesome, low latency audio quality with wireless headsets these days. Yes, for absolute dollar spent, you can get the best 'value' by sticking with a wired setup, but if you value the convenience or features from a wireless setup, you *can* get a great sounding setup if you're willing to do some research and drop the coin.
r/pcmasterrace • Does Razer just not make good headphones? ->Wireless 'gaming' headsets don't use bluetooth. Also the Maxwells sound incredible from an audiophile standpoint. You should update your viewpoint with whats currently avalable.
r/pcmasterrace • Does Razer just not make good headphones? ->I assure you, dude, you don't need to overspend on this. Try looking at Audeze Maxwell Series, those cost around $250 in amazon and they're SUPERB. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for gaming headsets. Basically ranked them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find the results helpful? https://redditrecs.com/gaming-headset/ You can filter based on usage, connection, and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)
r/ArenaBreakoutInfinite • What Headset Are You Guys Using To Play ABI? ->I cycle between two pairs of headphones while gaming, depending on my mood and I use either; Audeze Maxwell or Epos H6 Pro Open + Epos Gsx 300. I’d give you the following recommendations: Audeze Maxwell if you want closed back and wireless, Epos H6 Pro Open if you want open back and wired.
r/HeadphoneAdvice • A quality headset (for gaming) that is not "gaming" crap ->I love the stealth pro’s and I also have the maxwells. I used to own the wired nova pros and have the epos h6. So these at £600 literally have no appeal to me. Maybe £350 to £400 but at £600 I doubt the sound quality is worth that and appears to just about convenience and features.
r/headphones • Arctis Nova Elite - My thoughts so far ->I always use headphones. I understand the appeal of surround sound, but I find good headphones give you almost similar immersive experience at less "price" and space. I use Audeze Maxwell - it's freaking amazing.
r/PS5 • PSA: You should really try using headphones if you haven’t before. Absolute game changer ->I use Audeze Maxwell for PS5 - one of the great headphones within $300. You can also go for Inzone headphones, around the same price point. Audeze is bought by Sony. I believe they will bring the same tech in Inzone branded headphones.
r/PS5 • PSA: You should really try using headphones if you haven’t before. Absolute game changer ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
