"there won't be any improvement to your gaming performance when upgrading a keyboard ... HE keyboard is just a gimmick ... Even with Wooting you still won't play better than playing with what you're having right now ... I'm saying that as an owner of 2 Wooting board."

"i wouldnt recommend getting one unless you're a pro or you have tons of spare money to spend. ... I've got one wooting sitting there collecting dust while using meletrix keyboard for everything including valorant apex etc ... the difference is very minor to me, the only thing that i would notice a difference is hitting instant slide in apex."

"In games other than FPS it doesn't give anything at all, because, for example, I play WoW, PoE, Diablo, various RPG games and in each game the HE effect is completely unnecessary ... the rapid trigger itself doesn't give anything either, because whether I press a key with an activation of 0.1ms or 4ms won't make me kill mobs faster."

+1 for Wooting. I have the 80% for home where I mostly game, but had to buy a full Wooting for work because it feels so nice to type on.

Hey mate, there really isn't a best stock switch or modified switch, it's all personal preference I may like heavy scratchy switches and you may like light buttery smooth switches, so my best is your worst stock switch you know. If you just want a pure "gaming" performance KB I guess this one from wooting would be OK: https://wooting.io/wooting-two-he This is just my 2c, pretty much all kbs are going to be 1k polling which is more than good enough. In my experience gaming on a wooting did not really bring any real noticeable difference from playing on one of my custom KBs rocking standard mx blacks or any other standard cherry styled switch. You're going to be a bit limited on choice with a full-size, but if you go for a TKL or 75%, you're going to get more choices at the cost of the numpad.

Well you pay less for no coverege of warranty and software can be stopped updating at any time because new model came out. While wooting supports all their products with same features

Venom dosent have controller mode and dks. You can buy module with only pcb plate and stabs and use any case switches you want. Tho if you buy module u have most popular switches with discount already no need of lekkers. And wooting dosent need deadzone settings because it does auto calibration all the time

It is not worth it for that price at all.. for 200€ you can buy wooting which is better but not wireless. Those keyboards you listed should be max 100€ to make them even worth

Wooting firmware and software is still top, they always will lead and everyone will try to copy them. Most of halleffect keyboards do not support analogue (gamepad emulation), only wooting does that. Also if you want mod anything wooting is 99% compatible because parts are made to be compatible with wooting including switches. And Yes wooting is outperforming every halleffect keyboard because of consistiency. And if you want quick keyboard, you need good firmware

Now, in gaming halleffect is a king. I would recommend wooting, i have their keyboards already for few years and they are great with eveything so far. Also modding those keyboards is quite easy. (and if you dont like case or mounting style there are github with case files etc so you can make your own) .

Also op, wooting is dutch company. In fps games you would get most gains from rapid trigger and from socd (if it is not banned in ur game) it makes that actuation point is Dynamic. Also it is very responsive (though if you are on lowest possible settings like 0.1mm actuation point and 0.1m rapid trigger you could experience misclicks)

I use a Cherry KC 1000 half of the time and a Wooting Two HE the other half. Wooting is just awesome and mechanical keyboards in general are so much nicer and better. Is it worth the higher price? Depends, if you take care of it and can use it for many years then yes.

To be quite frank, 8khz polling on a keyboard is more or less a scam. 1khz is around .375ms of extra delay over 8khz on average, and considering even on a 500hz monitor your frame times are still 2ms, you aren't gonna notice a difference, especially as there's no added smoothness like there might be with a higher polling rate mouse. For your budget I'd focus on finding a he board with decent software and rt/socd implementation rather than chasing 8khz cause the driver is gonna impact your experience more than the polling rate ever could As for my experience, I've had a wooting 2he, epomaker 68he and venom tkl, and even tho the venom is the best pcb on paper there was no noticeable performance difference between the three

you don't have to get the 60 for gaming, the wooting two is a fullsize keyboard and can still use it for gaming. i have a wooting two and a wooting 60, originally got the two because i wanted a fullsize keyboard and all my keys. it worked great but i felt it took more space than i wanted when gaming so i got a 60. now i just use the two for everything else...def expensive for only being used as a keyboard and i might sell it and get a cheap thing but for now i still really like the responsiveness when typing as well as other stuff like the customized rg settings. if you're open to gaming on a fullsize, consider the wooting two he, and that will solve your concerns over missing keys.

Hello, as the title says I am looking for a mechanical keyboard for gaming (esp rhythm games). Here's what my criterias would be (explanations after) : * Reliable (no random input dropping) * Lowest latency possible * Either : * Low "max travel distance" switches (<=3.4mm) * Hot-swappable switches * Budget : I'd prefer not going over 200€ (could go up to 300€ for a perfect keyboard that would satisfy all my needs) * Size : I'd perfer a size where the arrow keys are separated from the keyboard (100% or TKL) but anything else is not a deal breaker * Wired * RGB : I don't care about any backlighting, especially if this could increase the response time/latency of the keyboard * Layout : I don't care * Keycaps : I don't care As I play rhythm games, reliability is really important for me. I've had quite a few keyboards over the years and some of them were unusable because they didn't register my presses (even 99.99% reliable means I'd drop an input every 30 mins which is unacceptable). For "lowest latency possible" I'm not asking for a 8kHz polling rate. It's mostly about how responsive the keyboard is. The only test I can perform is flicking a key as fast as I can, and seeing how long it takes between the down input and the up input. My older keyboards (that feel slow now) showed about 30ms of average response time in this test, while the two most recent keyboards I've owned (corsair k70 mx speed, wooting two HE) have about 5-8ms. My third most important criteria is what makes my search hard. With my playstyle I need to fully press the key to the bottom to finish my input, and any millimeter less of travel time is time gained which is really important for speed purpose. The corsair k70 mx speed I had was the best keyboard I've owned in that area, it combined high reliablity and low latency, while having 3.4mm max travel switches. Sadly it's not available anymore (they've discontinued the mx switches for their own brand now). The wooting two HE is also a great keyboard, but while it's possible to change the actuation point and add rapid trigger, it doesn't change that I have to fully press the whole 4mm of the switch. That's why I'm asking for either a keyboard with a reputable low max travel distance switch, or a board that would allow for hot-swappable switches so that I could try finding what is the best for me in that area. I also don't mind going for a low profile keyboard if the switches are hot-swappable (only if this doesn't increase the perceived latency). Anything less is self explanatory I think. Thank you for reading this, feel free to ask any question, redirect me to any place where I could look for recommendations if this is too specific for this subreddit. I'd also love for recommendations for low travel distance switches.

That's actually a great idea I didn't think about it. I already own a wooting (two HE) so this would be a cheap alternative to getting a whole new keyboard, thank you. Would you happen to know of a list of compatibles switches for wooting keyboards? I saw some 3.4mm on their shop, but I would like to have more options if they exist.

unfortunately every fullsize HE board has some pretty notable issues, the wooting 2he is overpriced with a pretty shit case design, and low quality switches, keycaps, and case, and the keychron q6 he uses a proprietary switch standard and the firmware implementation isnt great would you entertain a 75/tkl HE board with a separate numpad?

Software is why I went with Wooting. I’m becoming a grumpy gamer who wants as little software for my peripherals as possible. The fact that the Wooting is browser based and so simple to use is a huge plus for me. That being said I would be prepared for the stock Lekker switches to suck. If you don’t already have keycaps the ones that come stock are surprisingly quality. If you do already have keycaps then I would save some money and get the barebones version so you can choose a different switch. I went with the Gateron Jade Pros and have been really happy with them. The stabilizers on the Wooting are also abominable, but luckily that’s not a difficult or expensive fix.
