r/MouseReviewThinking about swapping to Viper v3 Pro for small hands
8 months ago

Viper v3 pro would probably be fine, but it's definitely big. You might be more comfortable on a lamzu Maya, egg Xm2 or op1, or hitscan hyper light. People rave about zowie as well, I just don't know them well enough to recommend a specific model. People also love Scyrox, except some people complain that they do not implement the sensor very well. I would investigate more. It might be a great choice for you. One key thing to know is that every single mouse these days uses the same 2-3 sensors and 2-3 processors. Those sensors and processors have a baseline capability, so really performance on mice these days is just a non-issue. Some companies create firmware that works better than others (hence why people complain that the same sensor feels worse or better on one mouse than another), but ultimately the most important feature is *shape*: How it feels in your hand, how it feels to move on the surface of your mousepad. Also, consistent reports and reviews of good build quality is important. Research is the best way to find what you like! I personally ordered multiple and kept the one I liked the most. Just make sure where you're buying has good return policy if you do that.

I have big hands, slightly bigger than yours and almost exactly the same grip. I have a Viper v3 pro but I prefer and main the XM2 from Endgame Gear. The shape is S-tier, you won't regret it.

I own a XM2 and V3 pro. Both are fantastic but I main the XM2. The shape is just so good. It's a slightly more aggressive shape than the V3 pro, but it makes it feel like a weapon. I feel pinpoint accurate.

Try xm2, or lamzu atlantis. Adore the shape, have both - thoroughly enjoy.

For 19x10cm hands I would also check out the XM2 or the XM2w if you want wireless. I just got mine and it's perfect for anything related to claw grip.

OP1 is probably good for small hands, way too small for me. XM2 is better for larger hands, but as far as ambi mice of that size go, I prefer the Viper v3 shape over the XM2.

r/MouseReviewWhat mouse is recommended for my hand size and grip style?

I kind of fingertipped my superlight towards the rear like you and have the same hand size. I went with the endgame gear xm2we and have been loving it. I go back and forth from hybrid claw and fingertip, and while the tapered sides were hard to adjust to for my usual claw grip, I ended up being able to fingertip really fine off the bat. Figured my claw on it but yeah man I highly recommend the xm2 as a sleeper fingertip mouse. I think you’ll enjoy the aggressive sides and low front mouse height with the way you grip Edit: not sure if the xm2we is still on sale but I got it off Amazon for 30 dollars off (59) which is a steal

Yeah the op1 is smaller, and def viable if you’re looking for more strictly fingertip. I just wanted to be able to claw as well and have had a similar shaped small mouse in the mm710 and it didn’t feel “for me”. Based on my prefences I can fingertip the xm2 fine and enjoy the size so I wouldn’t want to go smaller (I’m pretty biased AGAINST small mice for my use though), but a lot of fingertippers love having small more nimble mice so it’s a high chance you’ll like it man! Best of luck! Edit: not sure if you already showed you understood this, but in case you didn’t, they’re sister mice, xm2 is the bigger version.

It’s not a bad rec, I’ve got the same hands as op but his grip is more “aggressive” claw based on the ring and pinky. I have both the xm2 and mm710 (wired cheaper version of 712), I like the xm2 better, and I would’ve recommended it to OP but he says he doesn’t like it, I think my ring and pinky don’t curl as much as his and go to the front. With my relaxed claw the mm712 was small but if the xm2 was too long and u don’t get palm contact I think he might like it…or at least try out the mm710 just for the shape (wired, worst sensor and clicks but I got mine for 25 bucks so it was worth a test). Just know while the mm712 is popular, cooler master is done making peripherals so you won’t ever get an updated version.

As another xm2 user, I’d recommend it as well, with the caveat that the sides are curved aggressively. If you’re into kind of letting the shape tell you how to hold it, grab it. But I think back hump heavy mice are good for grips like this because they allow for some finger dexterity (hybrid grips that are in between fingertip and claw) If the curves of the xm2 make you nervous, the Mchose L7+ looks like a similar shape with straighter sides I’ve been meaning to try. I will say it was worth trying and learning the xm2 for me and I love the mouse.

What’s ur hand size? I have the xm2 at 18.5x10. It’s a great mouse for being locked in, and when I’m in I’m ON. The only reason I stop using it is fatigue and slight pinching where my ring finger makes contact (I’ll take a break for 1-2 days and resent on the gpx) Sorry for the context, I guess I’m asking, what are the main differences you feel when you compare the two? I like how aggressive the xm2 shape. Like “fingers here only” curves, but sometimes I wonder if the front flares out a little too early, meaning the intended grip might be too far back based on how I hold. The aggressive shape work, it might not be a 1:1 fit tho

I’ve had the same exact problems from two different xm2 mice now. I love the shape, but the quality of the mouse is just terrible compared to other manufacturers from my experience. Is there an alternative mouse that you found with a similar shape to the xm2w?

I have the xm2 and like the curve sides but curious if I’d like the smaller form factor. Do you think the op1 is for me? My hands are similar at 18.5x10 and I have a relaxed claw grip.
