I can assure you that there are people who’ll pay lots to get this. I’m one of them too. The best mouse I’ve ever used. Paying up to $300 for 1, it’s that functional. (Though I’m glad it’s probably around $160)

Ah I see. I loved the MMO 7. It has many buttons I use happily. The best is the joystick. So good.

I have one slightly faulty version I bought in 2012. (Couple of buttons spoilt) That’s why now I’m waiting for the MMO 7+ to be released, the actual mouse is no longer in production

Yes. MMO7 is the best mouse I have ever used. So this looks great already with most of the design/functions similar and an upgrade to the software with certain hardware durability enhancements.

Yes and it’s the same one too, with just some improvements. Keeping the core there

Screw, the mad catz mice are all bolted together, which means modularity but also weight at the same time, super cool for making a mouse truly universal though!

NO WAY MAD CATZ CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD AND MADE A GOOD MMO MOUSE!?

r/MouseReviewLongevity - Razer Basilisk V3 or Logitech G502X - how long did it survive for you?

Unfortunately, brands only make good shit when they're new/growing. So for a new G402, look for a brand that is still trying to build brand-loyalty and grow a wide gamer-stan audience. Dareu will do you right. The web-software compatible ASUS mice are actually goated and exactly what you're looking for (though they've yet to release a new browser-software Chakram, only 2 button mice). Glorious is perpetually stuck in decent-quality limbo due to their extremely flaky fanbase (which is a score cause it keeps Glorious mostly on the straight and narrow). Keychron is experiencing growing pains, the M6 is trash due to a hardware glitch in the sensor, but the M7 and M5 are actually great. And of course, Mad Catz will always make the single-most over-built indestructible mice on the planet (and then go bankrupt for the 7 billionth time, have another worker union go on strike and overthrow the CEO during a revolution, go bankrupt again, then come back from the dead right when you least expect it). My original R.A.T. 3 is still my travel mouse, it's been with me for over half my life (and is older than the G402) and still works as it did brand-new (earlier this year the rubberized coating did finally goober, but after going at it with the 50 grit it's good as new again). That thing survived getting thrown full force against a brick wall and a concrete floor during my 12yo gamer-rage era, has moved 16 times, survived 8 years of getting crammed into a backpack that was yeeted around during commutes (was usually in the bottom of the backpack getting crushed by textbooks) and never used on a mouse-pad (only wood tables, glass tables, really worn cutting-mats, marble and masonry counters too). That shit don't break like genuinely I thought people were joking about bad switches, glitchy sensors, and back-scrolling scroll-wheels until I got a Razer mouse and it broke in 4 months (with very delicate use cause I actually really cared about the Razer mouse cause it was expensive). The only other brand that rivals the absolute-unit built quality of my first ever gaming mouse, is Pulsar. Unfortunately Pulsar only makes 2 button mice, but their software and build quality are absolutely top-dollar. Just wish they made an MMO mouse, fortunately Mad Catz has released a revised MMO7+ so when I have the cash that's my new MMO mouse that'll last me the rest of my life probably. I mean the Rat 3 is still going strong and the MMO7+ has metal-reinforcements throughout it's shell for enhanced durability so I seriously doubt that mouse will break anytime soon as I no longer yeet mice into brick walls full-force (though somehow the MMO7+ is the second lightest wireless MMO mouse out there, second to the Aerox 9 which has such a terrible shape it genuinely feels twice as heavy than it actually is, plus I accidentally dipped my Aerox 9 in acid and it's slowly turning into a sponge. Of course if you're happy with a 2 button mouse, the Kysona Uranus Pro is absolutely GOATED that thing is built like a tank, I haven't yeeted it but I'd have 100% confidence the Uranus Pro would survive a year of the brick wall treatment no questions.

i agree! "mmo" mouses are also good for productivity! I had the MadCatz MMO7. I could assign a ridiculous amount of buttons to that thing not just for MMO's, Mobas and gaming but for photoshop and various CAD software. I use a Logitech G502 and its fiiiiiine but i really really miss the directional button on that mmo7 mouse and also a button where my ring finger sits on the right side of my mouse.

They're discontinued, but the Mad Catz M.M.O. 7 mouse is adjustable and gets pretty big at its largest. It also has a pinky rest that might give you some extra room to keep fingers off your mousepad area. They're on eBay for $100-200, so kinda pricey.

MMO 7+ dropping in a week or so!

no pinkie rest included, but the old mmo7 wing still fits on this one, they can be removed and replaced. Working on getting a sold separately version, also, RAT 8+ L -shaped wing can work, if you file down the area for the shift button,.

it certainly doesn't look very light, the plastic is thick, there are metal parts, a lot of buttons and therefore switches, I think we can confidently assume that it weighs at least 90-110 grams (probably even more, considering that the mmo 7 weighed almost 160)

Currently use a Logitech G600 but that's just tiding me over until Madcatz finally re-released the MMO7+. I have never found a gaming mouse as comfortable or versatile as the MMO7

Excited to see an update, somewhat disappointed that it looks like it doesn't include the interchangeable right side pieces. Hopefully an add-on accessory kit will be available?

TBD. I loved the original that I had years ago, it had some unique features that were surprisingly useful. * Horizontal scroll wheel isn't unique to this mouse, but this one got the location and feel just right * Thumb down (towards desk) button is the correct thumb button actuation direction imo, it just feels way more natural than trying to squeeze inwards to me - maybe just due to my big hands though. * The two inner left/right click buttons (8&9 on their layout) toggled left and right click to a 'hold' state. Click & release once for start drag, click and release again to stop drag, for example. Really handy to have as an onboard feature. * Best of all for me was the interchangeable right side plates. They have these on the R.A.T. 8+ (and others I think?). One option has a plate to rest your pinky on so that it doesn't drag on the desk, which is a total game changer if you have wide hands or long fingers. I would have bought one for home and one for work immediately, but without the interchangeable side plate I'm not 100% sold. I guess it'll depend on pricing.

there is a shift function, the dpad has 5 buttons.... all in all it has way more combinations than almost any other mmo mouse out there.... plus its more ergonomical than having to navigate 12 buttons with just my thumb

Surprised no one suggested the Logitec G502. But I am glad no one has, because while it is short, it is very tall and it gives my (17cm) hands cramps. The only MMO mouse I can recommend to people with small hands is the MadCatz MMO7. It has adjustable parts. You can adjust the width, height and length of the mouse, as well as the weight. It doesn't look comfortable to hold, but it is very clever with its design. It supports you in every place that needs it, and the buttons aren't just a numpad, but are instead spread out across the mouse so there is no chance of accidentally misclicking. Build quality isn't amazing though and the price is quite high, so if you can handle only a little fewer buttons, I recommend the MadCatz Rat6, which has very good build quality. It has left and right mouse button and a mousehweel like all mice. But it also has a sideways mousewheel, and 5 extra customizable buttons.
