Not sure if they are studio headphones, but I'm pretty sure they are not gaming headsets either. I got my bose quietcomfort 15 around 2012 iirc and they are still my pc headphones to this day (I have a sennheiser momentum 4 for when I have to walk around the house and don't want a wire interfering). The qc works without a problem and honestly they are one of the nicest headphones I had the pleasure of interacting with.

I’ve had Bose qc15’s or 20’s can’t remember the exact model for like…. Since whenever WoW legion first came out. 08/2016. They work as if they are brand new. I just replace the soft ear muff part every year or two. And I slapped a $60 modmic on the side and it sounds fine in discord.

Looking for Over Ear ANC for 75 dBa to use for watching TV while performing medical therapy.... I have Cystic Fibrosis and use a [Monarch Vest](https://www.hillrom.com/en/products/the-monarch-airway-clearance-system/) daily which makes approx 75 DBa. I have the original Bose QuietComfort 15 noise-cancelling headphones and am ready to replace them with something newer. I am using these for watching TV while doing the treatments. Once or twice a year, I may use them for a long flight, but primarily it is for the daily application above. What do you recommend? Budget is flexible. Keep in mind that 75dBa is like a vacuum cleaner noise on my chest.

I have the Bose qc 15, the 2023 Qc, and now the qc ultra gen 2 earbuds. I also have the airpod pro 2 and max. I think the max is better but I love my Bose. I think the Qc ultra in the over the ear setup would be a nice upgrade but I am really digging the earbuds and I travel a lot.

My dad had his Bose QC15s for like 12 years and only replaced them because the head band cushioning was peeling off (he used them at the gym, I don't understand why), the actual headphones still worked. I currently have Bose QC45s that are 3 years old and they look brand new, zero wear so I'm expecting a similar experience. Bose all the way

I have the QC15’s and they’re damn near over 20 years old! I’ll never get rid of them. They use a AAA battery and have the aux cable. I did upgrade to the QC45’s (I think yours are the 45s) and I love them too but it concerns me the battery is fixed inside and won’t last forever.

This is why I’m holding onto my QC15s, I even got an aftermarket Bluetooth device that fits into the ear piece that will connect via Bluetooth making it 100% wireless. Technically have 3 options with these headphones; connect with aux, connect my aux to a Bluetooth device that’s connected to my phone, insert aftermarket Bluetooth adapter and connect to my phone with 0 cords.

Same! I keep telling me that I'll buy Bluetooth ones when my QC15s kick the bucket, but they just keep going. All they need is some earpad replacements every few years.

TLDR get a Bose or Sony Earbuds. If you have the budget get custom fit earbuds. I can tell you what not to buy. Don’t buy Jabra. Had the Elite 75T and an android phone which was perfect but…… Changed to Elite 7 and iPhone+mac, it has been horrible since day 1. Random disconnections and poor performance when connected to more than one device. Sound quality is good, noise cancellation is poor. Have tried the now discontinued Sony-1000XM4 before buying Elite 7, sound quality was just a tad worse than the Elite 7 but noise cancellation was much much better. Choose the Elite 7 purely due to sound quality but regretted it. Had a pair of the Bose QuietComfort 15 headphone back in early 2010s. That one had fantastic noise cancellation too and good sound (I know Bose is abit controversial regarding sound quality) but the price back then $500-$600+ is exorbitant. Still have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM5s, great sound, NC and battery life just like the old Bose QC15 but it’s wireless. But headphones are a bad choice for Singapore weather as you already know. I use it a lot when flying but the size of it does get to me. Connection wise with Apple it’s good, much better than the Jabras. I’ve always been curious about the brand Shure’s earbuds. Their SE215 sounds great and isolates a lot of noise. But the bulk of their earbuds are cabled and loop over the ear which take some getting used to or be a flat out dealbreaker for you. They have really high end stuff that musicians wear to hear themselves sing/band playing at a concert so you know they’re the real deal. You can look into custom made IEMs which will provide the best isolation if your budget allows. As always; trust your own ears. Always try it out yourself before you buy. There’s Jaben at The Adelphi (City Hall), Zeppelin & Co (Sim Lim/Rochor), Stereo (Plaza Singapura). ConnectIT at Somerset treated me well too but I would say the first three shops carry a bigger product range and are more professional and respected in the audio game. I’ve also gone to TC Acoustic at Adelphi before for my Klipsch ear and headphones but they have seem to gone a lot more focused into home theatre audio (big speakers) now so maybe give them a miss. Focus your decision making first on the sound isolation and/or active noise cancellation and sound quality second. There’s no point in having good sound if the isolation is poor and all the ambient noise in coming in (looking at you Jabra). Happy Shopping!

r/boseQC Ultra (Gen 1) vs QC in 2026 if price was similar
22 days ago

I've had almost every Generation of Bose over the ear, noise cancelling headphones since my dad received a pair of QC1's to Beta test in 1998. QC1's QC15's QC35's NC700's QC45's QC2023's and now the Plums. I just recently bought myself the QC Ultra's in Plum and they are fantastic. 10/10. I absolutely love the volume slider. They seem to connect so much more seamlessly than previous generations. Sound quality in all modes is brilliant. I love the auto pause feature being brought back. Battery life is incredible. And the color... 😚👌They got me there. Utter perfection. Did I need a new pair? Absolutely not. Honestly, they are near perfect. The only annoyance being when they die, you can't use them while they are charging. But that is such small potatoes... https://preview.redd.it/t0v9axk4falg1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0eaad517742c90d4a91ad66c4f62334eb3bd2807
