IEM: KZ AS10 amazing instrumental separation and kick ass bass. HEADPHONE: JVC HARX900 they go on sale for under $50 sometimes, but you can also get them used for around $40 on Amazon. Or if you really want to you could opt for the JVC HARX700 they have less bass though.
my go-to setup is a JVC HARX700 ($40), Sound Blaster Play!3 ($20), and a lapel mic ($15). JVCs have good soundstage for a closed back and quite a flat response which is easily tuned with the SBs EQ. The SB also has really good virtual surround that you can adjust the depth to your liking (only one I know that can adjust BTW). Lapel mic is good either clipped to the headphone wire or on your shirt collar, works great unless you are wanting a boom mic. I also swap out with the Samson SR850, has a semi-open back / quite a wider soundstage and similar price as the JVCs. Mostly at night since daytime is a bit noisy since I am near an airport. Semi-open gives you the "around your head" and IMO virtual surround is a bit nicer with open than closed back's "in your head" sound. Pretty flexible setup for just over $100 if you go with all that. I can't say I am dissapointed. edit - one downfall of the JVCs are the pads - I had to do the cardboard mod to raise the pads a bit since they are thin, and when they wear out highly recommend the brainwaves hybrid pads for extreme comfort, but any replacement pads are an improvement...
JVC HARX700, bass cannons under $50...
I would say Superlux HD660 pro(or anything from superlux) and JVCHA-RX700 would give a run for money for much expensive ones as few examples
