The sennheiser 630 are supposed to be phenomenal but I haven’t heard them and they are very expensive. I currently use the Audeze Maxwell and they are probably the best sounding closed backs I’ve heard. They are planar magnetic and sound like they should cost double what the do. They dont have simultaneous Bluetooth but when I shut my ps5 off which uses a dongle the audio switches to Bluetooth automatically and I’m pretty sure you can mix a wired connection with bouetooth. They have built in eq with customizable presets in the headset via an app and good sidetone for gaming. Also the mic detaches and they are basically just a killer Bluetooth headphones. I’ve had the since they launched probably 3 yrs now with zero issues. I had some Sonys like maybe the xm3 years ago and the Maxwell poop all over them for sound quality. Also 80hr battery life. I just looked it up and apparently there is a Maxwell 2 now with some minor upgrades. I bet those would suit your needs really well. If you go for them I recommend a duffle bag shoulder strap pad or an upgraded top pad something to distribute the weight better since they are kinda heavy. With a wider top pad the weight is much less noticeable vs stock. If you’re gaming the Maxwell 2 is prob the way to go since they use a dongle for their wireless gaming connection. Like I said it’s not simultaneous but they can connect to multiple devices at once which is a trade off but I mean I’ve had simultaneous ones and it’s not that great having your phone ring into your headset mid gunfight lol. Also they have multiple eqs onboard so you can have an fps and a music eq and stuff and a game/chat knob right on them is super nice. They honestly sound so damn good. they are all black like you said or at least an almost black super Dark gray. They def have that muted professional look you’re going for. I’ve had novas and Astros and the turtle beach sealth pros and I have the Pc38x and I’ve had multiple openbacks from sennheiser and audio technica and beyer and what not in the past and for closed backs for the money the Maxwell are on another level. They honestly feel and sound like they should cost more. One other overlooked feature that stands out vs like novas and astros and stuff is that they get wayyyyy louder. I’ve had so many headsets that seem to not get quite loud enough. Now Im seriously debating if I should sell mine and get the newer version I didn’t even know that was out they are that good lol. If you want to check a review gadgetry tech is a great thorough reviewer and usually my go to.

Have you ever listened to the maxwell 2s? And if so how do feel they compare? I have the maxwell 2s but have been considering returning them for these.

Idk i just dont personally feel like they sound like ive heard from others. People talk about how with them you've basically got wall hacks in fps games but I dont hear footsteps and stuff like that well with them at all imo. I have another headset called the haymaker HM100s I hadn't worn since I got them and I used them the other day watching the series monarch legacy of monsters and I felt like they sounded better than them. I'd used them for movies and everything as well idk maybe it's just an EQ thing on my end but so far they havent wowed me. They are the first headset ive ever attempted to EQ though.

Yea idk maybe its me lol. I have the maxwell 2s ive never used the 1s. Do you just use the maxeell app for EQ or do you use dolby atmos or both?

I’m confident the sound quality will be good. I’m concerned about multipoint and weight.

I have 2, incase 1 fails. Exchange is extremely inconvenient where I'm at. (bought the 2nd one about 1 yr after the 1st. 2nd set is the headband screw attachment model) Neither has failed me yet, I don't bring it out of the house (another redditor has mentioned I treat it like a ming vase. But this habit works for me.) The 1st version was great. The crazy battery life (sometimes not having to charge for weeks), the sound quality. I don't use the mic, so no comments on that. The transmission distance is decent. About 10 meters through 2 or 3 walls. The headband, for me, can be a little fatiquing after 8 hrs of use. (due to it's weight.) The lightest I've had were hyper x cloud and turtle beach atlas air. Could wear those forever if not for the heat from hyperx ear cups. The 2nd version has a slight off center and seems softer. Likely due software (it can switch sides after toggling some features or rebooting). It is by no means perfect. But, to me, it's worth the trade off.

I just got the Maxwell 2s and compared to my HD598s, they are a huge step. Crazy detail and separation, good bass and sound stage. They are so good they make me jumpy in game. Fantastic for music. Plus you get a good mic, sidetone, BT, and an 80hr battery.

I've had them for a little more than a year. The dolby atmos feature really elevates my experience in watching movies. I can now fully enjoy the 70gb movies I downloaded. For music is the same you really re discover songs with it. In summer after long sessions I hear sometimes a small popping noise in the headsets but from what i've read it's normal for this kind of headsets if you sweat a lot. The battery life is also insane and it charges really fast.

I personally just got the Audeze Maxwell, which are essentially a hybrid between gaming and audiophile. They’re closed backs, but they still sound great. I agree that it’s important to take a step away from these overpriced “gaming” headsets that are really just garbage. My previous headset was the Arctis Pro Wireless, which was inferior in every regard, and it was *still* more expensive than the Maxwell’s. Really goes to show how poisonous gaming branding is.

I have been using the "extraction shooter" suggested EQ settings for BF6 and I have to say, well done! It takes some getting used to with such a radical change in frequency response but it does help a lot. I definitely hear footsteps and movement better and directional audio is much improved. The bass really drowns out so much detail in BF6, even with hi-fi headphones with typical EQ settings. It is crazy how well the Maxwells respond to EQ. They're like a closed-back headphone sandbox. The only thing they lack in is the characteristics of open-back headphone design. Obviously, thjey aren't open-back, so that's not saying much. For closed back PM phones they are truly amazing IMO. If anyone is turned off by the sound being so different at first just stick with it for an hour or two. For me, it was almost like magic. After about an hour the sound profile just sounded "normal" to my ears. Like, obviously different still but it didn't sound out of whack like when I first changed the EQ. I guess our hearing is more adaptative than I thought.

I assure you, dude, you don't need to overspend on this. Try looking at Audeze Maxwell Series, those cost around $250 in amazon and they're SUPERB. FWIW, I recently did an analysis on Reddit data for gaming headsets. Basically ranked them by aggregated sentiment. Maybe you'll find the results helpful? ⁦https://redditrecs.com/gaming-headset/⁩ You can filter based on usage, connection, and get a breakdown of what ppl have said about the most often recommended ones (disclaimer some links are affiliate they help fund the analyses)

I've had mine for about 3 months now, I bought a new strap because the stock one was giving me a headache. I still have issue with them feeling like they are clamping too hard on my head and glasses tho. I have one of the really flexible meshy plastic comfort straps and have one side set to the middle, one side set to the top any looser and it feels like its gonna fall off my head, any tighter and it feels like a vice clamp. That's literally my only complaint. The sound is phenomenal. No issue with speakers, hardware/software or anything buggy on that. If they didn't weigh so much they'd be perfect. But I put on my old Razr Blackshark V2 pros, adjusted the equalizer and in comparison it sounds like actual crap. If I could get this comfort thing under control they'd be absolutely perfect. Sometimes I wish I could exchange them for something lighter but then I want the same kind of sound too. So I guess I'll put up with it until I find a solution.
