Hello! You get diminishing returns very quickly, so it depends what you value. At the $200 range, Nova 7 Gen 2 and Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 are the best picks for FPS. The Blackshark V3 Pro (newest version) has some improvements at the $250 range like ANC and simultaneous BT which is nice. It can also save multiple on board EQ profiles. For $300 and FPS, I still think the Astro A50 Gen 5 is an amazing option, and still my go to. The stock pads are a little small, but I made my own called the StealthZ pad, sold by WickedCushions. The A50 Gen 5 takes full parametric EQ and has a class-leading mic and bass response. It handles EQ really well. The Nova Pro Wirless is still a great option to this day, but the mic performance is just okay, and as you said, EQ is more limited but still very capable. Overall I think you'd be performing at a very similar level with any of these. It comes down to preference on design and features. Nova Pro has leatherette pads and ANC with more isolation, whereas the A50 is very open sounding (does not block external noise).
I have an Arctis Nova 7 Wireless from two years ago and I have travelled with it, laid down with it, dropped it, etc. It's kind of a set, but I still use it every day. I have a wired set I use when I'm at my desk and then I have this wireless set for other rooms,
Idk about the best but I picked up a pair of steelseries arctis nova 7 gen 2 for $200 and I'm actually impressed by the audio quality for music and gaming. I use the deep bass EQ for music and the immersion movie EQ for video content. There's like 300 EQ settings specifically for certain games I've been using/playing the amazing Spider-Man 2 EQ and it's been a great time.
We have this one https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-7-gen-2?color=black And the Pro. https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-pro After further discussion in the house the consensus is the 7X is better in general but the Pro with noise cancelling and a PC connected DAC sounds much better.
If the Artis Nova 7 is truly in the top ten then god help us. That headset sucks.
My husband and I both love our Steel Series Arctis Novas! We have the 7X Gen 2. Bought them based on a recommendation from a guy at Microcenter after my (third) Razer headset gave out, and I could not be happier. The employee told us he’s had almost every version of the SS headsets and has never been disappointed, and I totally believe it.
I'm an audio engineer lol
I'm an audio engineer and I love the Arctis Nova 7 wireless. The retractable mic is awesome and they actually sound great.
Depends. I work in the audio industry and for a while I was using my £1500 mic and separate headphones. Someone did actually comment asking what mic I was using as it sounded amazing (we use them on feature films) but I got sick of using a separate audio interface, mic, mic stand, leads everywhere, and making sure I was close the mic whenever I spoke. Now I use Arctis Nova 7 and the wireless mode along with the retractable mic is awesome, plus they actually sound great.
Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X. I love them! Just the right amount of clamping force to stay on securely without pushing my glasses into the sides of my head, lol.
I recently bought a pair of Steelseries Arctis Nova 7X. Very happy with them. They feel solid but light and have the most comfortable ear cups of all the sets I tried on. The mic tucks away nicely and they don’t scream “gamer”. You could wear them on a plane or in public and not look ridiculous. My buddy has a pair he’s had for years that are still going strong too. Prior to that I got about 4-5 years out of the MS official Xbox wireless headset. Those are a great value for $120 imo; but the catch is they always turn your Xbox on when you power them on, so they’re not great to use with other electronics in your house. I passed on the A50s because you can’t use them without the stupid docking station. If you have a Microcenter nearby, they have just about every headset on the market on display to try on.
