I agree - I myself got my FT1, I'm disappointed. I have the Denon MM400 which are better. Yes, the BD custom pro studio is worse. But HE400, XS, Steelseries Siberia even, Takstars maybe, Sony cheap closed backs etc are better. I think a couple of Senns may be better. Bass is good on the FT1 - quite good actually, but ss, imaging, and airiness is so inadequate here...
I've had 2 gaming headsets, first it was a Steelseries Siberia, then a Razer Kraken, but then I got to know someone at work who is into sound. He convinced me to buy a HD 650 and by god it was a different tier. It was so comfortable, but 5-6 years ago I've changed it to a HD 800, purely because the same friend sold it to me £500, pretty much half price and he took good care of them too.
Dunno what headsets you've been using but I'm on my 3rd SteelSeries headset since I've been buying them since 2015. First pair I bought which is the Siberia v2s (iirc) are still working beautifully and I use them with my PS5 when I travel for work. My second pair is an arctis wireless pair, forget the model, but they only got replaced because I was given my current ones as a Christmas present. Zero issues ever.
save you time and money: bought: logitech g433, logitech g pro 2018, steelseries siberia v2, steelseries nova pro wireless, overpriced, overadvertised obnoxious sound, not even good for competitive accurate steps and cues awareness, don't buy that overpriced crap, also g pro x 2 graphene wireless version, good for music, but not for counter strike, can't hear shit when opponent comes from very distant places
