BenQ - GV50 Portable Projector

That’s such a cozy setup, man! 😄 Since the distance is only around 3.2 m and the ceiling is slanted, I’d skip any complicated mounts and just go for a **small portable projector with auto focus and keystone** — way easier to deal with. * **BenQ GV50** – perfect size for a bedroom, nice picture and sound. * **Dangbei Atom** or **XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro** – quiet, have Google TV built-in and super easy to move around. If your budget’s around **€700**, those models are the sweet spot — clean setup, no cables all over the place, and great for watching in bed.

suggest you spend more money buy Benq GV50 if you can. especail do not buy thise under $300 junk .....

Let’s be real—no projector is *actually* practical for use in broad daylight, but inside a car? Totally doable. The cool thing about the BenQ GV50 is its laser light source—super saturated colors, so even watching YouTube during the day is decent. What really makes it stand out though is the built-in battery, high-wattage speakers, and the fact that you can just hotspot from your phone and stream right away. For people on the go, that kind of all-in-one setup is seriously clutch.

Watch this video and think a lot about brightness. Those Hitachi models are a order of magnitude brighter than what you will be buying. Like they may be 1,500 or so lumens compared to 200-300 that you get the from Nebula Capsule models. Check the rated brightness of the Hitachi models you currently own. Not sure the resolution of them, or their throw distance, or anything else to give you some reasonable comparisons, so that information could have been useful. I'd make an effort to avoid using keystone correction with whatever you have as that will make a difference in overall quality.

The Hook Up is well respected and the author regularly posts at AVS Forum. His reviews have jumped a bunch in quality over the last couple of years as he's gotten better measurement tools and has tried to standardize his reviews to meaningful data. He doesn't measure customer service or reliability though, so a projector with a strong review, like the JMGO, still means you have a JMGO which may not have any USA based service or support if you run into an issue. In contrast, BenQ has USA based service and support which can be quite nice if you do have a warranty issue. Be aware of this tool and the terms used on it... I would have taken a ben q gv50. Easy to handle for easy diffusion on your side walls and ceiling. At worst, you raise it and bring it closer to be 2m away. I find it qualitative for 700 euros.

I would skip the lg cinebeam q because for that price the sound is horrible, for a good middle ground you can get a nebula mars 3 but the benq gv50 will work just as good. The hook up has a good review video comparing these.

the jmgo n1s is outdated by now, as there is the n1s 4k now. I got the benqGV50 back in the day but I wouldn't use it anymore today. check out the Mogo 3 Pro, its way more portable, has netflix, keystone is simple. I will have to say that the n1s beats the mogo 3 pro in terms of sound, but the n1s is bigger and with its carrying case it got even bigger bigger (I know thats no english :D). If you get the BenQGV50, get the google tv 4k streamer. It will upscale the GV50, displaying at 2160p. The onboard Google is very bad and slow. We use it in our small bedroom. And I really like it. The only issue is sometimes the auto fit and auto focus don't work properly. Just have to press the key a couple of times. The auto fit is more of a problem if you use a screen. You do not need one with that wall. The BenQGV50 can be moved very easily too, so I can recommend it for small spaces like yours.

If you are in india, go for benq GV50 as it's already available. I'm using xgimi mogo 3 pro, which I had asked someone to bring from the US. If you are importing via online purchases, then import duty will be there.

I got a gv50. Computing power on it is terrible but if you use it just as a projector it does very well.
