I went from a epson 5040ub as my first to a jvc rs540
r/projectors • Bought an expensive and a cheap projector. Time to see which one I keep ->Had a pro 2 for a few months. It’s absolutely fantastic the blacks are very good the picture is excellent, colors are very vibrant and it’s the best 3/d I’ve seen on any home projector. I have a 150 inch white screen 1.2 gain I think. Had an epson 5040 before the pro 2 and the pro 2 is far better in every way. Can’t comment on the other 2 cause I haven’t seen them in person. Good luck.
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->in 2019, $615 It's over 1000 now! It's not the best screen, but it does it's job well and not ,much wrinkles on the sides. Paired with my Epsom 5040UB. I don't use it in a light controlled room either. [https://imgur.com/a/HKUnHZb](https://imgur.com/a/HKUnHZb) [https://a.co/d/6KdZ83W](https://a.co/d/6KdZ83W)
r/hometheater • Curious about projectors: they’re not as good as TVs, but larger and more portable? ->I got into one for similar reasons. It was cheap and I was trying to get my HT setup to see if I would enjoy it. I splurged a bit more on the audio equipment because I wanted to feel the sound more than the picture. It worked for a couple years until I finally upgraded to an Epson 5040UB. Obviously the picture is a TON better. But it should be for like 20x the price too. I gave the cheapo to a coworker for his kids and it’s still working. They serve a purpose, they’re not the best, but I think they’re worth the asking price considering the price is less than a 1/3 of what I spend on a trip to the grocery store.
r/projectors • PSA for anyone thinking of buying a $100 Chinese projector off Amazon… ->I've already put 15k hours on my 5040UB (8k on first lamp, 7k on the current lamp. I've been waiting on a replacement lamp from an epson distributor for about a month.) The lamp does not dim much at 400 hours, I usually run on eco mode for 3-4k hours.
r/projectors • 1st time buying a projector - is laser just better than lamp? ->Yes, there are newer options but that would potentially bring you right up to your price cap. For example, Epson is selling refurbished 5040e's for CAD 2209. r/projectors • Need 4k Projector Budget around max 2000 CAD Lower price the better ->I have an Epson 5040, and could not go back to a projector that doesn't have lens shift memory. 2.35 aspect screen baby. Love the black levels too.
r/projectors • Bought an expensive and a cheap projector. Time to see which one I keep ->The 5040UB is an excellent option.
r/projectors • Best 4K UHD projector for movies under $2000 ->I have a 5040, and it’s a fantastic unit. Got it used to replace a really old epson 1080p projector. No regrets. The price point you’ll have to evaluate and compare, but love the machine.
r/hometheater • Buying a used projector pros/cons? ->If you can find a used 5040ub for 600 it will absolutely crush anything in the price range or cheaper.
r/projectors • Best projector that’s worth the price? ->If you don't need 60hz HDR you can find a 5040ub for under 1k very easily and it is basically the same as the 5050ub. It will still do HDR just fine on 24p content
r/hometheater • I have decided a TV, not projector is the way to go in my home theater. Help me pick one! ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
