"Obviously soooooo much brighter (never seen a nice projector this bright in my life)"
"The QB1000 will give you the lumens you need for your living room. ... I have mine in my living room as well with a shit ton of ambient light, you will use it a lot, and a lot more during the day than you'd expect."
"At first, I though the brightness was also lacking on my unit. However, after some image turning, I find the brightness in a dark room to be great!"

"I actually own the thing and it far exceeds my picture expectations for 4K quality on a 120" screen!"
"does full 3,840 x 2,160-pixe (4K)l at 120 frames per second with <20 ms lag. ... It literally is a gaming projector."
"the 4K 120 Hz refresh rate delivers excellent quality for fast paced open world gaming on a big screen."

"I had the LS11000 for awhile and returned it because the blacks were a muddy Grey"
"The black levels are good compared to cheaper projectors but not good enough for a treated room. ... Even in my all white living room, LS11000's "black" on grey ALR screen is way brighter than the reflected light."
"I skimped on the LS11000 and wish I had spent the extra $1K for the higher contrast in the LS12000 in my dedicated room. ... I just wish my blacks were a bit blacker, and I think the 2X contrast ratio of the LS12000 would satisfy that desire."

"The only other limitation is Dolby Vision but this is a larger issue with 4k projectors, they don't support it."
I've been using [this](https://www.amazon.com/Epson-LS11000-Projector-Brightness-Motorized/dp/B09TS2M1ZS?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.XZzH7VDB6ZaPMp6jyKLDp3MBadSHyBoqwy2afb2uVkYEsBAU5eYi9GPnUIDZogMKqm4Ej43WksiT6j_4UzIpBMKU8OQ9ej1rvRQzX8RUb7IwVMGlGg_KgrCYKE7ZH5t0vw5Yh-EBfcllIx_ciG_OWr7ugnyPoIttRdfGUdljp95TGRfl6JJCfuvQIzUKwjsrwEG_sEd0fzw62B3PcA2vGieGUhvzKIkuxwihEqVYZes.um1GbzlQFc3AjWmsk-zrHPPCmreExxSW7DTxyMEs_Z8&dib_tag=se&keywords=Epson+LS11000&qid=1751013649&sr=8-1&linkCode=ll1&tag=grok43-20&linkId=9d852fac2b09c8dea2dd3bb4f0edcd1a&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) from epson for a while now and it's been fantastic. The image is super sharp, colors are rich (not washed out at all), and HDR really pops. Setup was easy thanks to the motorized lens shift and zoom. It's quiet, handles movies and gaming really well (120Hz is great), and the HDMI 2.1 is perfect if you're using a next-gen console. It doesn’t have built-in speakers, but honestly, a simple soundbar works better than most projector speakers anyway. Solid choice if you want a high-end home theater experience without getting crazy complicated.
r/projectors • Considering my first projector, any advice would be appreciated ->https://preview.redd.it/rp2mftloo1me1.jpeg?width=3752&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f245a1fe8e2fa02e10c507bbbc9d4e4d39944fbe I’ve posted this a few times so apologies to those who keep seeing it. This is from my LS11000. Using my iPhone11. Un-retouched btw. Great projector. Great colours, quiet unless you 100% laser (mines at 50 with a one stop ND filter) good sharp picture (zoom the above image) and easy to set up with motorised zoom and shift. it’s only “issues” are JVC has better black levels - though I would say colours aren’t as intense. There is an issue with “cyan push I. HDR with bt2020. That some notice. It can be corrected for, which I have done.
r/projectors • Is it worth digging into my wallet for a premium projector such as the Epson LS12000? ->Here's my breakdown - Anthem AVM70 pre/processor $3200 - Epson home cinema LS11000 projector $3500 - Two (2) summit HIFI A7 seven channel power amps $4500 - Two (2) Power sound audio S2112M 21 inch subs $3700 - Two (2) JBL HDI 3800 towers $2500 - Two (2) JBL HDI 3600 towers $2000 - four (4) JBL HDI 1600 bookshelf $2000 - one (1) JBL HDai 4500 center $950 - Nvidia Shield pro $200 - PS5/XBOX series X (dealer's choice) $500 - Furman PL-PRO C 20A power conditioner $530 That leaves you with $1500 or so to buy cables (please don't buy expensive cables. Just get generic 12 gauge speaker cable and some generic banana plugs, generic HDMI 2.1 cables etc.) and a rack/hardware you need to house everything. Those JBLs are heavily on sale on Critchfield super good deal. With 14 amp channels you can run your 4 ceiling speakers as height channels and 9 regular channels.
r/hometheater • Recommendations for my first home theater system ->from that list I think my personal top would be LS11000 also go browse AVSforum for used and look for JVC also also [The Hook Up channel has some cool vids](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClIboELoz74) and [this ones nice too](https://youtu.be/TjgXfRMtmSU?si=T5tb2S0Hzt37csYM)
r/projectors • Headache to choose Projector for Cinema purpose (Hisense/BenQ/Epson/Viewsonic/Vivitek/…) ->I have the same issue in an undedicated room with a little light and chose the Elitescreen 3D variant thinking the ALR screen will have a meaningful effect. It definitely looks good head on, but starts to lose brightness 10ft or so off-center, and is watchable up to 70deg. However, since my projector is a JVC NP5, it doesn't get bright enough to overcome a majority of the light that falls on my screen, so the ALR isn't really a feature that's needed IMO. If I could do it all over, I would just get the cinegrey and not deal with any speckling or hot-spotting. And yes, there is a major difference between the LS11000 and Ls12000, as long at you watch at night, your black levels will be vastly darker on the latter. I had the LS11000 for awhile and returned it because the blacks were a muddy Grey, and I prefer contrast over brightness.
r/projectors • Is the LS12000 worth the extra $1,000 over the LS11000 ->Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I did compare refurb prices and I think I settled on the LS11k refurb, which gives me $1,000 to invest elsewhere for our overall home renovation. Coming from a HomeCinema 2040 that I had since 2017 and getting a real screen (we have just been throwing the picture against a wall right now) I think we are going to be blown away either way... Great insights on the ALR screens! I haven't really read up on it enough to understand it well. Are you suggesting I move the projector or are you saying that the angle between the love seat and an ALR screen will always be bad. FWIW, we haven't really picked furniture yet and this is just a concept i plugged in to get a sense of the space. We may just end up watching from an L-shaped 4 seat sofa or something.
r/projectors • Is the LS12000 worth the extra $1,000 over the LS11000 ->Thanks! Yeah I pulled the trigger on the 11k refurb and purchased directly from Epson as that was the only site were it was available, even though the return policy isn’t the best. What screen are you using it with?
r/projectors • Is the LS12000 worth the extra $1,000 over the LS11000 ->Epson have had a bunch of those a while now. First (and still relevant with 8000:1 contrast today for a fourth the price of the 1000) the 5050ub which is bulb fed but otherwise almost identical, and then the LS11000 and LS12000 which are lasers. The LS12000 is a very mildly worse variant of the QB1000.
r/projectors • Epson QB1000 3LCD 4K Laser Projector Review @ ProjectorScreen.com ->Epson LS11000 is a solid pick for that budget. I am using it on a 100" and beyond happy.
r/projectors • What is the best projector you have used this year? ->Bought mine off Amazon. Arrived in 2 days for a great sale price (LS11000 so not quite as expensive as yours). Don't hate the player, hate the game.
r/projectors • Where are people buying high-end projectors? (Frustrated) ->10k for projector is a lot. As someone said, epson ls 12000 or 11000 are great quality laser projectors, even though not native 4k. You probably need to better receiver like a Marantz Cinema 50 or 60 or a comparable Denon. Not sure which brand of screens is included either but looks overpriced
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->Hi all, I have been using an Epson ls11000 for the past 2 years. I upgraded from an epson 4010, which was a good experience but noticed dim light over time woth the lamp going bad. The ls11000 in my setup is reflecting off of a $500, 120 inch, Silver Ticket branded silver screen. At first, I though the brightness was also lacking on my unit. However, after some image turning, I find the brightness in a dark room to be great! Black levels are also fantastic with the proper HDR scene settings on the projector. Specially, the settings that made the biggest difference for brightness and better dark levels are Scene Adaptive Gamma and Dynamic Range HDR10/HDR10+ setting slider. I did some tuning to the white levels as well. If interested, I could send you a full list of my settings to see if they improve your brightness and dark level experience. FYI, I use an LG C4 TV quite often for gaming in another room. I love the black levels and HDR experience there, but this ls11000 performs very closely to that LG C4 in my experience. I love my ls11000 and would not go back or change for any reason right now. As for the ls9000, seems quite new and I don't know much about it. I'm curious if anyone here has installed an ls11000 and ls12000 side by side and seen a massive difference.
