"the Elgato Facecam MK.2 still looked worse and less natural than the Obsbot Meet 2 did straight out of the box for me (for the same price). After browsing a lot of threads too, I'm not the only one. A lot of people are disappointed with the Elgato, and when compared to the Obsbot, it almost always loses"
"insanely good picture quality for a webcam ... Its almost indistinguishable from an actual DSLR"
"I have the elgato face cam pro and I can tell you it's a beast of a camera. ... It's definitely much better quality than any other webcam on the market. ... It's nearly DSLR quality if set right."

"the DLP high frequency flicker gave me a headache after a while. ... the combined effect of each step can be perceived, even if not consciously and causes eye fatigue or headaches for some people. Unfortunately myself included."
"I'm super sensitive to RBE: I got a headache after watching a show on the Hisense C1... ... Hisense C1: unbearable RBE"
"What I am getting, and this is insanely distracting, is a gradual shift in the tint from red to blue to green. ... You can see the whites are different and one has more blue. ... It does this with reds and green shifting back and forth randomly."

"I had the LS11000 for awhile and returned it because the blacks were a muddy Grey"
"The black levels are good compared to cheaper projectors but not good enough for a treated room. ... Even in my all white living room, LS11000's "black" on grey ALR screen is way brighter than the reflected light."
"While, even the BenQ 4550i looked like mud in space scenes and any dark scene."

"The Hisense C1 is nice, but it has no zoom, so you must be very careful about how you place it in your room."
I’ve had the Hisense C1 for about a year and a half and it’s been excellent. Specs-wise I’m guessing the offering from XGIMI is pretty similar, I was deciding between them myself. Truthfully I think they’re probably all comparable, I don’t think you’d hate any of them unless you saw them side by side with another.
This, i think they are around 700usd refurbished now, awesome deal, love my c1.
Hisense c1 here, love it. Great bang for buck these days too.
\+1 for the Epson HC3800 (= EH-TW7100 here in Europe). Brightness is fine, noise is acceptable and for me the two most important factors are: large lens-shift range (I can shelf-mount the projector close to the top of the screen's height) and the 3LCD technology is completely free of the rainbow effect (as it turned out, I'm super sensitive to RBE: I got a headache after watching a show on the Hisense C1...) I bought and returned 3 other projectors this Christmas until I settled with this (BenQ W1800i: too noisy, Hisense C1: unbearable RBE, Epson HC3700: contrast was not enough for me - the 3800 is just slightly better but it's now in the acceptable range). https://preview.redd.it/d7e7z1jll1re1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3e5b5b141b0481ce25d12c38a9b34b708259b5b
At $500-600 yes, but $900 you can find refurbished Hisense C1 on eBay for that price, far better. Triple laser, better contrast and colors, not far off in brightness.
I had/have the Benq w1070. It really is a great projector, I recently wanted to upgrade and first bought the Dangbei Mars pro, and honestly I didn't like the colors and everything. I think 4K is overrated. Then I bought the Hisense C1S (in my country it appears as Vidda C1S) so I thought it was worth the upgrade. But it's not like it's twice as good as the image.
Definitely not the C1, that would be a significant downgrade in brightness. The C2 is an upgrade in some areas, but unless he goes up to the ultra, the other c2 models would have trade offs and not have a definitive edge. The ultra would for sure outperform it though in all areas.
I recommend the Hisense C1 laser TriChroma 4k reconditioned or second-hand market 🤚
Hisense C1 4k or newer version hisense c2. I have C1 and its amazing both for movies and games
