"Not only does it look amazing on all levels in my darkened room but the fan is quietER than the Viewsonic. I normally don't even notice it."
"The fan is VERY quiet and I had to remind myself it was even there to begin with. ... Not that my Epson was loud but especially when watching things like A Quiet Place, the silence stands out more without distraction. ... It's not loud, no. You'd have to be seated very close to it to hear its light fan whirl at all."

"the image itself literally made my jaw drop. ... it was like I hadn't experienced color before. Imagine Dorothy walking out of her black and white house into the Technicolor land of Oz. Seriously, the colors were so deep and pure, I couldn't look away and all I was staring at was the menu. :) ... I rushed to turn on Planet Earth in 4K Dolby Vision and was completely blown away. All the boxes and wires around me were forgotten as I stood and watched an entire episode. Seriously....so good. ... For me, it's how vibrant and clear the colors are. It really makes all the difference."
"The C2 Ultra has better color due to triple laser ... triple laser is as close you’ll get to OLED like color quality. ... Color gamut coverage, contrast level, it’s beating every BenQ product to be honest."

"it has been an excellent projector for movies and gaming."

"The C2 Ultra has the best sound of any projector with its built in sub. You will not be disappointed!"
"and sound. I use the built in speaker more than my AVR because it doesn't drive everyone in the house insane, and its more than adequate."
"really great sound due to the built in subwoofer"

"It is much quieter than the C2, which is a priority in our bedroom because it is right above our heads. ... If the C2 had been quiet, I think I would have chosen it and tried to calibrate it to get the image I like."
"The nebula x1 and hisense c2 ultra worked better on my setup but where too noisy"

"An ALR screen makes speckle 10 times worse so I would never use ALR with a triple laser projector."
"If I stand with projectors, it won't be a laser one because 1/ the speckle 2/ the rainbow effects... ... I'm sensitive to the RBE and see a lot of these with laser projectors. ... I've been to a demo of the Hisense C2 Ultra and I got an headache after half an hour in addition to the RBE. So I think these kind of projectors are definitely not for me."
"I purchased the C2 and returned it due to a large amount of laser speckle"

"I purchased the C2 and returned it due to a large amount of laser speckle and DLP rainbow effect."
"however at 14 feet the screen is closer to 150 inches and it has to use digital zoom etc to fit the screen but aren't we losing quality this way?? ... If you move it to 14 feet and use digital zoom to have the 120" the projector is less bright and will have less contrast because the further away it is the further th laser needs to cast"
"Native contrast is not great but that's it's main downfall."

"I have a love hate with my c2.. some times I'm in aw by it, and other times I wanna throw it out the window, but its almost all software related issues.. like on tvs, where one setting disables another and doesn't say which one, and its a never ending quest to figure it out. (Just disable everything and youre usually good)."
"I do agree the software sucks"
"I’m not a fan of their software/UI."

"This is a new product so the reviews and technical advice is low right now but I want/need someone to walk through all the settings and let me know which is best for specific scenarios. ... It feels like when you change one setting, it can affect another so there is so much trial and error that it's hard to know what to change. ... An in-depth how to video would be amazing for this device so I know all it's capable of and how to change things to fit my needs. ... it would be nice if there was a hand-holding set up feature similar to the one on Denon Receivers where it asks questions about your setup and takes you through it step by step. ... I had real problems with the eARC being activated when it didn't need to be and the video wouldn't show up etc. I was able to fix it but novices might get frustrated when simple things like plugging in an HDMI doesn't always work."

Hisense C2 Ultra all the way. I bought one last week and it's amazing. Used it outdoors for movie night with the kids and it was still amazing. Watch the video review from Tom's guides.
r/projectors • Which projector to buy for boyfriend ->You can get a Hisense C2 or the Nexigo Trivision Ultra and go with a traditional long throw setup. Placement of the projector needs to be pretty exacting. Then use a standard fixed frame screen in white or grey and call it done. Add a sound system and it's all together for under $3,000. $2,000 if you are careful in your shopping.
r/projectors • Cheaper alternatives? ->You will need to consider audio in the room as projectors don't do audio really well. Many lifestyle laser projectors don't have any optical zoom, which will limit your size/placement options. For example, the Nexigo Trivision Ultra has a fixed 1.27:1 lens. For a 92" diagonal, the lens much be 8.5 feet from the screen. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision\_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm](https://www.projectorcentral.com/NexiGo-TriVision_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm) The Hisense C2 has a .9-1.5:1 optical zoom lens. This gives you a ton more flexibility in placement so you can get a 92" screen or a 100" screen or even a 110" screen from the back of the room using optical zoom. [https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2\_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc](https://www.projectorcentral.com/Hisense-C2_Ultra-projection-calculator-pro.htm#calc) The lens of these projectors needs to be aligned to the top edge of the screen. These models do have HDMI-ARC to backfeed audio to a sound bar or surround sound receiver. But, speakers need to be fully thought out prior to getting too much finished.
r/projectors • Help with my living room ->I know you’re on a budget but I would try and get an open box C2 ultra. It’s significantly better than those.
r/projectors • Hisense C2 base model vs Nexigo trivision ultra? In this price range which should I pick? ->Having said this though and seeing my friends c2 ultra in person. It looks incredible. And I would have guessed true 4k if I hadn’t read about it. Picture quality is nuts.
r/projectors • Is a 4 K projector worth it? ->I mean sure but I got an open box C2 ultra for 2400$ CAD open box. And the pro2 is 4300$ I do think the Pro 2 is slightly better (but they are damn close on the whole) but that’s not worth 2000$ for me
r/projectors • Need Help Deciding on a Projector: Hisense C2 Ultra or Other Options? ->I’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a Hisense C2 ultra on a 135” screen mostly at night and it’s pretty fucking amazing. Plus I have a paradigm 5.1 speaker setup with an AVR. It blows my mind every-time I start playing. I also play RL on it and honestly it’s not bad. I don’t really notice the input lag.
r/projectors • Gaming on a projector. Pros & cons? ->Feel free to join us at /r/HisenseC2Projector The C2 ultra is pretty good overall, picture is nice and bright. Native contrast is not great but that's it's main downfall. I am currently experiencing light bleed with mine, which Hisense says is normal, so if you decide on the ultra be sure to get a warranty through the retailer
r/projectors • Need Help Deciding on a Projector: Hisense C2 Ultra or Other Options? ->Just my plain wall, I have the C2 Ultra now, and tbh, it's actually not very good at auto keystoning compared to the C1 for some reason
r/projectors • New projector - Hisense C2 Ultra! ->Just get nexigo ap mk2 with alr screen. Other ust to consider such as epson ls650, formovie theatre 2, xiaomi c2, hisense pl1. They all have low or no rbe / speckle issues. Valerion dimming ebl doesn't activate with subtitles, no iris and have speckle issues.
r/projectors • Nexigo Aurora vs Valerion Pro 2 vs Epson 4010 ->Hisense C2 Ultra and upcoming C3 are both cheaper options. The preliminary reviews for C3 said it has a similar EBL function. I don’t see Hisense pricing C3 at $ 2999.
r/projectors • Valerion Plus2 vs Pro1 vs Pro2, which one? ->I just bought a Hisense C2 Ultra for about $2500 and I project it on my wall. Works great so far. Have it hooked up to a Bose soundbar and sub woofer.
r/hometheater • Home theatre proposal ->I just purchased one of these 2 weeks ago, so far I think it looks amazing, however I haven’t used another projector to compare it with. I do agree the software sucks but I just plugged in an Apple TV hub, problem solved.
r/projectors • Hi, what's the best Projector for movies and games? ->I ultimately bit the bullet, cancelled trivision order and went with Hisense c2 ultra. It performs amazingly well even in my non-light controlled living room. The only downside of course is that it’s 2x the cost of nexigo. Given our tariff war with china, it’s unlikely these projectors will get cheaper
r/projectors • Deciding on portable/lifestyle projectors in 2025 after KS/preorder prices are gone ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
