"The Horizon S Pro isn’t a bad projector at all, gorgeous and vibrant image quality. ... Image quality wise they are excellent, even on the Halo+. ... It’s a good projector, looks very good, and it’s definitely special at the price point it’s at."

"Compared to the C2’s Vidaa OS, the Xgimi’s Android TV is horrid it response. ... I knew it was sluggish and clunky feeling, but I didn’t know how bad it was until I got the C2. ... It’s doable, just extremely clunky. ... it’s just something with these XGIMI projectors that just makes using the software part a clunky experience."

"I think I am mostly missing some contrast (the blacks and greys are pretty bad)"

"The XGimi Horizon is a nice model, but isn't super bright and will need a dark room to operate the best. ... With ambient light, you will have a very low contrast ratio."

"its only real weakness is the contrast"

Think of not only gaming, HDR, lumens shmumens but maintanance as well. if you buy a projector as per your example - prepare to replace the lamp every 1-2 years depending on screen time. I'd steer you toward LCD or laser projectors. I personally have XGIMI Horizon Pro 4K Projector, 2200 ANSI Lumens, it has gaming mode and ultra fast gaming modes. with these projectors the screentime untill issues is 30k, lamp 15k. At the same time I never owned a laser projector but I believe these are best for short throw distances. P.S. the XGIMI recently released a new projector and I heard people praising it. as for myself - I have this projector for 2 years and 0 issues the only inconvinience I got is that I can't just install steam remote play onto the projector, I believe that's due to it having 2 separate boards one for android and second for projection which is responsible for gaming at low latency quoted 18ms so HDMI gaming only, the other possible inconvinience would be netflix app not available but I love my jellyfin, cloudstream apps and to read r/Piracy they got some fun articles there. [https://a.co/d/hxJRcfE](https://a.co/d/hxJRcfE) \- here's the new version, it's way under your budget and I guess covers all of the things.

Less than 1 year ago I bought the xgimi Horizon Pro 4K, was super impressed by build quality and thought it‘s a good start. ($1100) also the picture quality was OK. I would like to upgrade to an even better image. -hisense C2 ($2200) -JMGO N1S Ultimate ($2200) -BenQ TK710 / TK710STI ($1500 / $1800) -BenQ X3000i ($2300) Or wait for the Xgimi Horizon 20 / pro ($unknown as not available yet) Use: 80% movies/shows and 20% gaming in the future (GTA). Which one would you get? Will the horizon 20 pro be similar to the x3000i? Or is a BenQ TK710/sti an upgrade enough?

First of all, this is the best opening line I've read in this channel. Matt Foley would be proud. Highly recommend the XGIMI (say, horizon pro) over benq IMHO. I'm a bit of a fanboy for XGIMI but it delivers and checks every box I need. 1. Great picture. 2. Great built in sound. 3. Interface that doesn't feel like if I move the projector a hair, I just lost 2 hours of my life repositioning it. 4. Google TV built in + 2 HDMI ports for my PS5, Apple, TV, or Xbox, switch, etc. 5. Intuitive remote 6. UX that doesn't require me to be ALL IN on one platform and just makes it easy to nav around my apps and tools or inputs.

Hi, Really interesterd in your feedback too. I actually own a Xgimi Horizon Pro (my eighth projector but the first 4K PJ at home). Coming from JVC (X30 in France) and then BenQ W1120 (my two last 1080p PJ), I wanted to taste the 4K. I knew that its contrast is weak but this Xgimi has other strenghts. Now, I'm torned between changing again for a new PJ or getting a new big TV like TCL 98" or Hisense 100". If I stand with projectors, it won't be a laser one because 1/ the speckle 2/ the rainbow effects... I'm sensitive to the RBE and see a lot of these with laser projectors. I've been to a demo of the Hisense C2 Ultra and I got an headache after half an hour in addition to the RBE. So I think these kind of projectors are definitely not for me. I've seen Ekki Schmitt's review (cine4home.de) of the BenQ W2720i on youtube and it seems to be a very good choice with accurate colors. The only backdraw should be the brigthness. With 1300 to 1500 lumens after calibration, you are limited to a 3 meters width screen (which is already nice). Because of the dlp chip used in this BenQ (0.47), the contrast is not as good as with a 0.65 chip but Ekki Schmitt said in his review that the dynamic contrast was about 3000:1 ratio without "pumping". So it should be very usable. If it's true, this BenQ could be a bargain. Very excited to read your feedback about it...

Hello, you mean the xgimi horizon pro right? i checked online and didn't find a xiaomi one. I got a horizon pro since 2021 or something and we use it almost daily (next to a aura and a halo+). yes everyroom has a projector in our home except for the kitchen (Most of the itme) the horizon pro 4k is a great projector, however, if you use internal speakers, you see that sound engeering has come a long way. back in the day the pro 4k had impressive audio but its 2025 and xgimi brought new proejctors and had sound improved, there, too. - sorry to begin with a "downside" but you asked for insides. in regards to android: if you use a blu ray player, you are using external inputs, which is possible. over the years we had our tv-reciver connected, a ps5 and a switch. there is no native netflix (except for a desktop /browser version) we use apple tv for that its bright enough to be used outsides, too. the biggest I went was 120 inch on a white screen. i love the design of the remote; which feels like a premium product. the horizon pro 4k supports exfat, which is a plus, too. so if you have any questions, tell me. the fan is okay by todays standard, but ventilation has come a long way, too by now. my summary: i love my xgimi horizon pro. I sold my benq non-smart 5.000 Ansi lumen for it. and i never looked back.

Hello, i suggest to save up a bit and grab a refurb xgimi horizon pro. its 4k,its bright enough for this scenario and its a bit compact enough to transport. we used it outdoor countless times in the past years https://preview.redd.it/y18gmqrwsy6f1.png?width=3412&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc14bb37e8b647a4a3302d5e70290cb1ac909c2c

its only real weakness is the contrast, for the rest it's a great product, even after being on the market for a couple of years.
