"The price is got it for was 250 from sams club about a 50 dollar discount from amazon however its 10 dollar shipping and I paid 10 in tax. Still under 300 dollars! ... This fits my budget and the brightness is enough for my room and is good overall with nice android TV. ... Overall its great for the money and I bought it on credir card so +1 year of warrenty."

"Plus it's in your budget."

"No reports of full failure. Many projectors on amazon that are below 500 have many reports of failures I did deep research on forums seems like this unit last long"

"Picture performance is solid Great color accuracy, latency is very low on game mode."

"I meant to get something just for tracing my sketches, but decided to pay a bit more for better image quality and brightness, so I can use it for watching shows and movies as well."

"It has excellent color and a sharp picture."

"The plus side is that it has a dedicated Game Mode that drops input lag to about 33 ms (with Auto-Keystone turned off). That’s a really solid number for casual and even semi-competitive gaming, making it feel responsive for consoles like the Switch, PS5, or Xbox."

"Picture performance is solid Great color accuracy, latency is very low on game mode."

"And if you get it centered properly, so that you don't use any keystone, it has decent response in game mode. ... Anytime you use digital keystone it is processing the picture. Doing that adds to latency because it has to process it first. So you'll want to set it up perfectly so it doesn't need to use keystone. When you use gaming mode it turns keystone off."

"super easy to move around"

"It's small enough to fit in a backpack like a brick."

"Mogo is solid if u’re chasing colors & portability"

"I haven't used it for work quite that small, but the auto-focus has always worked really well I think. ... When I trace a sketch on canvas that's small (40x50cm for example) I still like to place the projector almost 2 meters away and adjust the size of the image I'm projecting (I have it open on Preview on my laptop and screen mirror for the MoGo Pro)."

"this unit has autofocus, you walk in front of it it dims"

"add - I also wanted to add to my post is that no Netflix support and probally no point in trying and it you looking for that it may be worth it to get thr mogo 3 or 4 pro as it has that support. I dont care for it as I have a PS5 and I donr rely on the android 11 os tv to do my entertainment I just wanted something basic with YouTube it has it so that'd fine. But a big con not for me but for others is lack of Amazon"

"Not bright enough for outdoor or room viewing with a lot of lights. It was alright but this projector is best at night and movie rooms."

That’s such a cozy setup, man! 😄 Since the distance is only around 3.2 m and the ceiling is slanted, I’d skip any complicated mounts and just go for a **small portable projector with auto focus and keystone** — way easier to deal with. * **BenQ GV50** – perfect size for a bedroom, nice picture and sound. * **Dangbei Atom** or **XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro** – quiet, have Google TV built-in and super easy to move around. If your budget’s around **€700**, those models are the sweet spot — clean setup, no cables all over the place, and great for watching in bed.

\*re-upload since my text didn't upload. Mogo 2 Pro is solid! Just mounted it today on ceiling. Here's my review of my week impressions so far. I want to disclose this isn't paid this is honest and unfiltered. Pros - Great remote can actually control my sound system and my PS5 I dont know how it works but it's cool. - The price is got it for was 250 from sams club about a 50 dollar discount from amazon however its 10 dollar shipping and I paid 10 in tax. Still under 300 dollars! - Picture performance is solid Great color accuracy, latency is very low on game mode. - No reports of full failure. Many projectors on amazon that are below 500 have many reports of failures I did deep research on forums seems like this unit last long - The hookup a youtuber that tests projector actually rated this unit high in audio quality and I can definitely respect the audio performance. Cons - Lack of a stand and control to tilt the unit this makes it hard to put it on a table and just project you have to get a piece of card or something to angle it. - Not bright enough for outdoor or room viewing with a lot of lights. It was alright but this projector is best at night and movie rooms. - Many reports of keystone problems cause heavy dips in performance didn't effect me but it was a known issue. - No filter most projectors have this what happens if it gets clogged of dust? - No 2nd HDMI input or HDMI ARC port down the line if my sound system stops or need to upgrade it ill have to likely get an HDMI splitter or a sound bar that passes through video output. - My anker 120 watt power brick didnt work on thr projector. - Lack of lamp replacement now this is an LED and on specs sheet the 25,000 hours estimate thing means like 10 years for about 6 hours a day use that's a lot but is highly dependent on ventilation and other factors. But when the unit dies outside the 1 year warranty from ximi your on your own to replace no lamp replacement like an Epson or BenQ. Why did I not choose the newer models like the Mogo 3 or 4 Pro? It comes down to lack of resolution upgrade to 4k. There all still using 1080p and justifying the 200-300 price about double cost of my unit to get newer model for gimicy features I don't need like the battery in it, Netflix support, faster os or slightly brighter isn't enough for me. This fits my budget and the brightness is enough for my room and is good overall with nice android TV. Overall score is 7/10 if this unit lasts for 4 years then it's a 8/10. If you get this unit I recommend getting a stand and turning off keystone, digital zoom when you can so you get the full performance of the picture. Cause keystone is just digital its not a physical lens shift so you lose sharpness of image. The features are for convenience but will not be best results for performance. What I had before was a 20 year old Sony VPL-VW11HT it served me well it was stuck at 720p making text hard to read and I wanted a projector that would be great for my PS5 for GTA 6 when it comes out. That 1080p and 60fps is a standard I usually play games at but at 110 Inch screen couple feet away its not the best I still see some blur in text its very small but its just not as sharp if that makes sense. Farther away is better at lower resolutions. There's a measurement for that with size of screen, resolution that's best and I found that sweet spot. \*add - I also wanted to add to my post is that no Netflix support and probally no point in trying and it you looking for that it may be worth it to get thr mogo 3 or 4 pro as it has that support. I dont care for it as I have a PS5 and I donr rely on the android 11 os tv to do my entertainment I just wanted something basic with YouTube it has it so that'd fine. But a big con not for me but for others is lack of Amazon

I’m pleasantly surprised with the Magcubic L018. For its price it has a lot to offer: Autofocus, reasonable brightness, proper focus across the entire frame without vignetting, no skipped frames, reasonable keystone. It’s not bad at all! I’ve also owned an Xgimi Mogo Pro 2 and the Magcubic’s image quality is not even that far behind. Also owned a proper Epson and that’s a different story of course.

The XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro could be one option if you want a projector that works well for gaming without spending crazy money— you cand find it approximately around $300. The plus side is that it has a dedicated Game Mode that drops input lag to about 33 ms (with Auto-Keystone turned off). That’s a really solid number for casual and even semi-competitive gaming, making it feel responsive for consoles like the Switch, PS5, or Xbox. Even though it is a 1080p resolution, it has good brightness for its size, and portability, so for roughly the price of a mid-range TV, it’s a strong pick if gaming performance matters to you.

If you’re just getting into it and want something portable + not crazy expensive, I’d say check out the XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro or Nebula Capsule 3. Both are solid for first-time use, decent image, and easy to carry around. The MoGo 2 Pro probably gives you better brightness and image quality overall, but the Nebula Capsule is more compact if you’re thinking about camping/travel. Just don’t expect crazy brightness unless you’re in a dark room. If you end up liking it, you can always upgrade later. These are both good “safe” options to start with without blowing a bag.

I would love some advice, ive been down the "budget projector rabbit hole" for days now and i just cant make up my mind... I want to buy a projector for my girlfriend, it will be used 99% of the time to watch trash TV in bed before she goes to sleep, maybe a movie here or there. \- The room will be very dark at all times when used, it will probably "never" be moved, and never used outside. Our bedroom has 2 windows in front of our bed so i cant hang a TV there. \- I would need to be able to download apps, and have them work, for example netflix, hbo, but also streaming services/apps that are released in my country. (they exist in google play store/apple store). However i realize i could get a stick of some sorts and just use that. So i guess a "dumb" projector isnt a deal breaker. Would be nice to have a smarter one tho. \- I think fan noise is important here, if she is watching TV and keeps hearing a loud buzzing sound its basically not worth buying one at all. My initial thought was for the projector to be located at her nightstand, but I'm not sure if even a 35-37 decibel projector would get too loud (?) \- Sound quality isnt really that important. We dont use any external speakers for any of our TV's, never have been much interested in audio quality in general. The volume would in general be set on "low-medium" as she will probably use this before going to sleep etc. We are not going to be blasting movies on high volume via this projector. Price range is 200-300$ tops, that includes with tax and shipping. Sidenote: I could mount the projector above our bed or even in ceiling, however i would prefer not to. Her nightstand does have a small "compartment" that could fit a projector, it would be nice if i could store it inside that compartment and just tilt it slightly upwards towards our window/blinds/curtain where i would want the picture to be at. Currently ive been looking into XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro, because of the low fan noise and looking at Jayce video review it looks easy to use, can download apps and picture seems good. However i cant find one even close to 300$ in my country. Its more like 450-500$.. Also i don't need it to be portable at all.. I was close to buying what im guessing is a shit one called Alvar f505, basically because of the review from "The hook up" youtube channel review, however im guessing its an "off brand" and probably crap. Also the fan noice looks to be really loud. Any advice would be great!!

Op, a refurbished model has the same manufactures warranty as a brand new one. The difference is the savings. Definitely a best of both type of situation. The XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro would be the better option especially for the lumen output boost.

Was going to say the MoGo 2 Pro and Elfin would definitely work cost wise. Plus they’re pretty compact units. Typically a lot of people that are doing sewing patterns are using UST projector aimed at the table as it’s easier to scale this. I actually have a video example that I posted to the subreddit here of an Epson BrightLink being used. I picked up an XGIMI MoGo 2 Pro on discount almost 2 years ago, and I even regularly use it to watch movies at home. I really like it, but I must say I don't have much experience with other projectors.
