Based on 1 year's data from Mar 17, 2026 How it works
Either the anole VX or Dunu glacier
I like how they sound 🤷♂️😅 The glacier I couldn't keep bc of the fit, the VX has incredible detail and I love the tuning(particularly the vocals)
Noob iem bloke talking lol. Demoed the clara and glacier. Unfortunately, i couldn't demoed the prestige ltd in my area. I also demoed the mesk mk2. In my personal opinion, I enjoyed and found the glacier a step above the mesk mk2. The glacier has a nice soundstage, very detail, v shaped but feels balanced to me with good details and sounds musical. The clara on the other hand, my god.. the vocal and instrument, especially the guitar and drum sound so natural and realistic to me. It sound more smooth to me~ it is not as detail as the glacier, but its smooth in an enjoyable and unfatigued way. The bass on the glacier was was tactile and to my liking. The bass on the clara was abit stronger than my preference with good texture, which probably could be eqed lower to my liking. Fitwise, the clara is probably more suited for smaller ears. The glacier is heavier but it was comfortable still for me. Well... I can comfortably wear the monarch mk2 n 3 I think most iem will fit me fine 🤣😂 Honestly, need more time as I am still not sure if I prefer the glacier or the clara at this point of time. Hope my comment even help alittle lol
Dunu glacier is great. Direct upgrade path from variations
It’s the best Harman set. Is it the best 1k, no. It’s very good though. Great buy for $850!
The Ziigaat Estrella are great for Pink Floyd but if you double your budget the Dunu Glacier is like hearing them for the first time.
I couldn't get the Dunu Glacier out of my head after hearing it and 1 year later I got them for my self. That's why I don't want to test another Dac after the Fiio M21 they can't be better if I haven't tried them.
Dunu Glacier sounded as good or better than other kilobuck IEMs but with a better sound stage I love these things :)
For my ears no. Although quit heavy the shape grabs my ear like it was made for my ears as for sound while it has much treble never a problem for me. I have listened for 10 hours strait with out any discomfort.
The Origin was one of 3 that made me say wow at a show. I ended up buying 2 the Thieaudio Origin and the Dunu Glacier the one I didn't buy was the Thieaudio Valhalla. The Origin is very special but the Glacier is the one I pick up most.
Hey. I don't have the IE900 but I have the Dunu Glacier and they are by far my favourite IEMs. The sound signature is really out of this world. For classical, female vocals (pop) and EDM, they should be a perfect match. In general they have all-rounder qualities. Surprisingly I can run them on my whole playlist with a vast selection of different genres, and I never have the feeling that something sounds strange. The thing about the DUNU Glacier is that this sound does not ask for your attention, it just takes it. They are energetic in every way, without letting the mids sound thin or too transparent. The soundstage and 3D-Holographic effect are TOTL. What I mean is that they are very immersive sounding. Are they detailed sounding? I would say in the lower and higher end, absolutely. But if you are looking for micro-details in the mids - no. They are too energetic for that in the bass and treble. Not everyone likes that. Especially people looking for this type of micro-details, will find more enjoyment in something sounding more neutral, like the Mega5EST. Others would say the neutral sounding meta IEMs sound boring compared to something like the Glacier. It is really more a preference thing and for what you are looking for. The bass is high-quality, textured and detailed in every way and its quantity is also kind of basshead-level, without bleeding into the mids, which are still cristal clear. In some songs with a lot of sub-bass, it can be a bit boomy. I would not describe the mids as very smooth, if you are looking for that. But still very clean. The treble is.... very illuminated without being too bright. In that area it is very smooth. Some people say 5khz-6khz have too much energy, but this is really a preference thing. For me personally it is kind of required to balance out the high amount of bass and making them sound so well saturated and contrasty. All in all I would describe the sound has a lot of energy, but they are still sounding natural in a lot of ways.
I had the tea pro and there is nothing wrong with it, they are very competitive in this price bucket. But that it competes with 3-4x the price is simply not true. I have the Dunu Glacier as well and it’s quite a big difference.
Try to get a used Dunu Glacier in good condition. Clarity, Bass and Soundstage are outstanding and it has the best EST Treble I’ve heard so far.
Actually this is an easy answer. Check with EQ which target you like most. If you like Harman, the Glacier is unquestionable TOTL Harman Endgame. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. I know there are some people who dislike Harman but really like the Glaciers, because the implementation is so good. But this people don’t LOVE them in the long run.
I have the Variations and the Glacier. They don’t sound identical at all. Variations sound thin compared to the Glacier. Maybe it’s my unit of the Variations. They sound very clean and detailed, but thin. Glacier on the other hand sounds natural with lots of bass
What budget? For me the endgame heavy metal/live music IEM is Dunu Glacier Edit: nvmd now I saw $120 budget - I think Hidiz MP143, or Shozy P20 would be great if you can find one on sale, Plannar making very fast and accurate bass for metal and those has punchy bass with Shozy P20 has warmer, more musical sound profile. Another option that is easier to drive is Letshuoer S08 Around $140 other than Shozy P20 you have 7HZ Diablo but it's shape with the stiff cable might not be a good fit
I have both and the ie900 is one of the cleanest and most detailed sounding iem I have heard to date and the glacier is on the same level nontheless, the bass is just great with both but the glacier has a stronger rumble and slam while the ie900 is more controlled I would say and the bump on the lower midrange gives more body especially to male vocals, as for the soundstage, both are very capable with perhaps an edge for the Glacier which sounds more around your head while the IE900 is more like a deep straight line in front of you, if that makes any sense. As you also mention the fact that you like female vocals, classical music and instrumental I would suggest that you lean more towards the Glacier as it is a more fun all rounder, since the recessed upper midrange of the ie900 is not for everyone although to me they sound very natural and also great with any music you play, but that's up to your preference as I don't know how the u12t sound apart from what I see in the graph.
It's still a good set and could suit your preferences if you like clean mids and rumbly sub bass. The Volare are also good, a bit warmer but not too much. they come across as slightly bassier than the Glacier, with better physicality in the mid bass, but worse upper mids. Never tried the Variations, so don't know about that.
Glacier is cleaner and voices sound more natural, while the Volare has slightly recessed upper mids, and sounds a bit duller. Neither of them sounds muddy, but the Volare has more body than the Glacier.
I’d say the first break point is somewhere around $300ish, then the next break point is “entry” kilobucks around $1k. So for the first break point IEMs like Dusk, anything Xenns, Thieaudio, Softears, so on and so forth, and for the second break point you have a lot of solid options like Monarchs, Dunu Glacier, CFA Andromedas, 64 Audio U4S, etc. Edit: to clarify, those are the points where I think you get the biggest jumps in quality relative to price points around them. So I don’t think it’s as worth it to move beyond that $300-$400 price point unless you’re jumping up to $1k.
i think dunu glacier will fit the bill
I have both the Glacier and the Variations. The Glacier has a bigger sound, it's not Harman exactly, it's wide and sparkly and has deeper bass. The Variations are much more clinical sounding, and I do like a clinical sound. I love both but for different reasons. If you want a good Harman tuned set, look at the Heartfield CU8 as well, I call it my mini Glacier, it sounds similar but of course it doesn't have the grand sound the Glacier has.
Dunu Glacier. But, the caveat is I don't think it will make you better at your games. No IEM will.
