I bought two Avocados, (specifically the vegan avocado as that aligned best with my preferences) and love them. The queen was the best mattress I ever had and my wife and I upgraded to a king, now we both have excellent mattresses for when the other is ill or we have a guest over. Get the pillow topper too.
I have an avocado. Love it.
Yes especially if you live in the Sun Belt area or where you might get high humidity. I just checked my Novaform mattress from Costco & bought the base Avocado mattress. Added a 3" merino wool topper to help with cooling. Working so far at over 2 months use. Check out more on organic mattresses & bedding and how these are appealing with their unique properties. You'll begin to understand the big picture. I discovered merino wool products for hiking as in socks, shirts etc and am convinced of their unique properties for cooling, ventilation. No synthetic substance yet is capable of imitating these all natural organic properties.
Love my Avocado medium pillowtop
If you’re a lightweight side sleeper, full latex can be a tough fit. I thought it’d be the perfect natural, supportive combo—but it was super bouncy, and I felt like I was just floating on top, especially at the shoulders. Plus, I’d wake up with a pain in my shoulder. Turns out that’s pretty common if you're under \~150 lbs. Switching to a latex hybrid made a huge difference. You still get that airy, responsive feel, but the coils add some give so you can actually sink in where you need to. Bear Natural felt nicely balanced for me, EcoSleep from Brooklyn Bedding was great with the flippable sides, and Awara was surprisingly comfy for the price. Avocado with the pillow-top was decent, but still a bit firm. So yeah, full latex just isn’t ideal for lighter side sleepers in my experience.
I got the avocado firm mattress and it was bumby and had fabric that bunched on the top, did not seem sleep safe or correct so I sent it back. Ended up getting a naturepedic and it’s very firm.
I thought a hybrid avocado latex mattress. No more waking up with back issues.
We had the naturpedic for a crib mattress. I know they are supposed to be very firm but it was so hard and I wonder if that’s why he didn’t sleep well in his crib. We got a full size Avocado a couple months ago for a floor bed so we can Co sleep and it’s very nice! I will say it felt too soft for the first couple days and we were worried. But it firmed up as it aired out. Now it’s very comfortable. He has been sleeping very wonderfully on it, too.
We have twin and queen mattresses from Avocado. They have a bit of a unique smell occasionally, I think because of the wool, but I don't find it offensive. They are HEAVY though! I also got their twin waterproof mattress protector for one bed and the Naturepedic equivalent for the other, and both of those have worked great for multiple kid related fluids, lol. And just in case you're looking for new pillows to, I switched to a buckwheat hull pillow earlier this year. I love it, and I've heard millet hull ones are even nicer.

We paid a ton of money for our king avocado (from the manufacturer) and 5 years later it dips in the middle. Disappointing bc we have an avocado crib mattress that we used for 2 kids and it’s been fine.
Fwiw, I have both a queen avocado and a crib size avocado and both have been great. We bought the queen in 2020 and the crib size in 2022.
I have an avocado queen size in my guest room and my baby’s crib mattress is an avocado too and both have been great. The queen is only in the guest room because we got a king size and I wanted an even firmer mattress.
I had an avocado and liked it but prefer a firmer mattress so now I have a “the plank”
