We got our son a twin Leesa Kids mattress earlier this year. He's 4 now and seems very happy and comfortable with! I agree it's a Medium-Firm feel as described that should hold up well for years. We slept on a Leesa original for ten years and just bought a replacement this Black Friday, because compared to his it was obvious how soft ours got. I'm sleeping so much better. Edit: I originally typed Leesa Youth but I think we got him a Leesa Kids, sorry. I'm sure it's comparable though!
If you’re already leaning toward the Leesa, just go for it. Plus it’s one of the best-reviewed memory foam mattress for a reason. Hits that sweet spot of pressure relief without the sinking feeling. If you've done the research and like the specs, you're probably gonna love it.
I think it’s because our bodies are all so different, so what’s needed for side sleeping pressure points while balancing support and durability is so varied. I start on my back, but turn to my side for the last 2 hours of sleep each night.. But also, I only weigh about 100 lbs. We bought a Leesa original in 2019 and loved it, though it was only a full due to our tiny bedroom. It got a pretty pronounced dent after only 3 years, but we rotated it and all was fine again. Would’ve probably kept it another couple years if we hadn’t moved to a place where we could finally fit a bigger mattress. We replaced it with a sleep on latex medium, because I wanted something more durable. Even the medium is on the firm side, and the first night I was absolutely miserable even before I turned on my side. My husband is 160 lbs and was ok. Not super happy, but not in pain like I was. In the middle of the night (bc I was NOT sleeping much!) I ordered some no-name 2” memory foam topper for same day delivery. That’s all I needed to turn it from unworkable to plush-but-supportive perfection. I know I’ll need to replace the topper within a year or two, but the base mattress will be great for a nice long time.
I’m on my second Leesa Original that’s only a little over a year old and it’s already sinking on my side and a little on my wife’s side. I’m 205 lbs and my wife is 130 lbs. Is that normal? We had our first for 6 years and by the end I was sleeping in the Grand Canyon, but I don’t remember it sinking that quickly.
Happened to me too, within about 3 years it was killing my back and I had to toss it. So not worth it considering the price. They are great at first though. This is one area that OPs testing can't cover, unfortunately.
the leesa original has a memory foam layer that to relieve shoulder and hip pressure. Im guessing your a side sleeper and for the price its a really good option.
Leesa Original's a good pick for shoulder pain and the all foam feel. If you want another option though, check out Brooklyn Bedding's CopperFlex. It's all foam too and usually cheaper than Leesa with that copper infusion for cooling. Either one's gonna be a huge upgrade from whatever's wrecking your shoulders every morning.
We got a winkbed in 2021, probably based on your recommendation, and it's been great for us. We had a leesa original that became unbearable after about year 7. If the winkbed makes it past 7 years I'd be happy with that and probably get another one.
If you’re set on memory foam, the Leesa Original is a balanced build and easy to like. Some West Elm locations still carry Leesa models on the floor, so it’s worth calling ahead to confirm before you drive over. With Leesa’s 120-day trial, Customers can test it in their own space without having to try it in a showroom.
I’m 5’6 and 130-135. The one I got felt super squishy. I had the Leesa Original for 9 years prior and loved it. It ranks as a 5 from most independent reviews I’ve seen. So this Legend felt a LOT softer than that. I also realized that while I like laying in plush for awhile, my hips don’t like sleeping on plush overnight. So that was my mistake.
I get it. I read the reviews and thought maybe I would like it but was mistaken. I would have just got another Leesa original (3 gray striped one) if Costco had it. Costco is great to work with. I find mattress firm off putting
Based on everything I read 135 lb side sleeper, I thought plush would be better for me. I found just the opposite. My hips ached with soft (Leesa at Costco). Firm mattresses made the ache stop but then I had some pressure and had to toss around. I added a viscoft topper to a firm memory foam and am happy. Took more experimentation than I wanted but finally got there.
Yeah I didn’t last long on Leesa. I have a huge master (and teeny bathroom. So annoying lol). So I ordered a replacement after two weeks and scheduled the return after it came. But costxo returns was great. You could easily have it work out within a day of the delivery.
