I believe if you tried it out at the store and liked it, who cares what others had to say about it. I am curious though, are u talking about the president day sale at Mattress firm? Because they offered us a free base, not an adjustable one and I'm wondering if I should try and negotiate that if there are doing such things. I am in kinda the same situation as you. We just went to mattress firm as well and fell in love with the purple premier soft. It's soft AF and I loved it. I never felt so comfortable laying on a mattress. Then I read some reviews about purple and how they are failing as a company and with their customer service. So if we could get a free adjustable base, that might tip the scales Into us putting down 4k on a bed. I am also overweight, 300 plus and I hate firm mattresses. So in my opinion do what you prefer and don't worry about other people's reviews as much. (Except this comment of course lol) Edit. One last thing, for bigger people the base is extremely important. I got a cheap Amazon headboard and frame and the boards break, the mattress squeeks Everytime I move, the middle post is bent and the squeeking goes away when I bend it back. Which just fixes it until the next time one of my kids jumps on our bed and bends the middle post again. So that's why we were shooping at mattresses firm. Btw u mentioned sad, ur not from the Midwest? I'm from SE WI and we get that alot here

r/tallBig and tall sleepers, what mattress are you using that actually holds up?

The high-end version of the purple mattress I find it extremely comfortable best night sleep I’ve had ever on any mattress. A queen size mattress I lay in fetal position, so the length isn’t that important

I can highly recommend the purple mattress, especially if you need the support and/or tend to sleep hot. The plus or premiere offers a soft option that feels like you're sleeping on a cloud (although it might be slightly outside your price range, depending on what size mattress you're looking for). I'm also a side sleeper and wanted a nice soft "sink-into" mattress (that wouldn't get too hot), but we ended up exchanging it for one of the rejuvenate line because it ended up being just a tad bit too soft. At any rate, there's lots of great options out there, hope you're able to find a great deal that works for you, because sleep is so important!

Tossing in my 2 cents on what to avoid. I bought a full size Purple mattress and within 3 years it developed a 1 inch sag. Their warranty sucks too.

Full size Purple mattress. It was a little over $2000. It's been 2.5 years and it's been good. My only problem is my sleep position. I'd wake up with sore shoulders because I'm a side sleeper.

Have you ever tried a purple mattress with the grid? That was the most coolest neutral temperature sleeping bed I ever tried. It didn’t work out for me because the model I chose didn’t have enough lumbar support, but you may love it!

My girlfriend worked at a purple facility and part of her benefits included a mattress at a severely discounted price (essentially free). We went with a king size mattress with the grid technology (can’t remember the specific model). We loved the mattress for a long time, I came from sleeping on crappy mattress most of my life. After about 4 years however it started to sag very badly, to the point of both of our backs hurting pretty bad. I’m 6’5 and 265 lbs and she’s 5’4 200lbs. The msrp on the mattress at the time was near 4k-5k. If you’re paying that price I’d want the mattress to last longer than 4 years personally.
