Based on 1 year's data from Mar 17, 2026 How it works
I bought this about 8 years ago now. Hands down the best mattress I've ever owned or slept on. I don't think i'd ever purchase anything else. They sleep cool, feel soft, but very supportive. They're 'springy' but soft, best of both worlds. Latex is also known to last 20+ years unlike memory foam or most any other styles. I truly believe latex is the superior bed material in every way. Only thing keeping them from being 'mainstream' is allergies to latex, and their weight.. My king mattress weighs like 300lbs This particular model is also flippable having a medium and firm side. Both are way softer feeling than a firm memory foam or spring mattress. I use the medium. [https://sleepez.com/product/roma-latex-mattress/](https://sleepez.com/product/roma-latex-mattress/)
Try sleep ez roma latex mattress. It sleeps cool and you have medium or firm option in one mattress. The back pain that I've struggled with for over 20 years has been reduced from level 9-10 to level 2-3. It sleeps cool and very reasonably priced. I bought it online at sleepez.com. I also have fibromyalgia and I added a plush topper from ez and its the perfect bed now. I placed the soft layer in the cover with the firm base , zipped it and put the medium layer on top. Perfect bed. I haven't slept this well in decades👍
"Cooling" is virtually always a lie. I mean, it's true enough for the first minute or two, but like you've noticed, those materials will trap your body heat, and since they aren't actually breathable (being polyester/plastic/petroleum derivatives) there's nowhere for that heat to go. So it collects in the mattress and reflects back at you. Making your bed a steamy swamp by 3am. The key to cooling, or rather, sleeping "temperature neutral," would be natural materials that have the ability to breathe. So: coils/springs, which allow for plenty of airflow. Latex, which has channels cut through it to improve airflow, plus it's all basically a bunch of tiny bubbles anyway. Cotton and/or wool instead of a polyester fabric for the mattress cover itself. I'm a ridiculously hot sleeper. I bought an all-latex mattress a few weeks ago from Sleep EZ. If you like the feel of latex, I'd recommend taking a look at their website and/or giving them a call. I love my new mattress. It doesn't turn to lava while I sleep, it gives me excellent support, and I'm sleeping longer and better than I have in years. (Before this, I spent 6 years sleeping on a supposedly "cooling" memory foam mattress that was entirely too soft, messed up my back, and left me sweating horribly and sleeping even worse.) I also added natural-fiber bedding, of course. I use a mix of cotton percale and linen. And the other big change I made around the same time? I bought a BedJet. It's basically a fan unit that slides under your bed that has an air hose that then points at your feet and blows air (under the bed air is usually the coolest air in the room) over you. I have mine actually blowing into a linen duvet cover, which sort of keeps in the air and allows it to flow over me from toes to nose, so to speak. BedJet sells a specialty 2-layer sheet that works perfectly with their machine, and lots of people like that, too. But I love the feel of linen, so I'm using my linen duvet cover as a bit of a hack. I then have a lightweight wool comforter in a cotton percale duvet cover over that, again, aiming to hold the airflow around me instead of letting it blow away into the rest of the room. This setup has been a game changer. With everything I've done to make sure my bed/bedding are made of breathable materials, and with the BedJet in place, I'm sleeping so much better. All together, the best investment I've made in myself, ever.
Maybe its time to re think memory foam. Its crap, and the quality has only gotten worse since covid. Look into latex. You wont have to return it, its customizable. SleepEZ, Sleep on Latex, Latex for Less, Latex Mattress Factory. No off gassing, totally natural product, no b.s. Or buy one of the ones you mentioned, and in 2 years you'll be back here looking for another mattress. How do I know? I bought all of those, spent a fortune and was mad as hell every time they wouldn't honor their warranties. I FINALLY talked my husband into going the latex route. No more problems. We're set for the next 20 years. Good luck. Choose wisely. The struggle is real.
My SleepEZ mattress is mostly Dunlop. I returned the top layer for a Talalay layer. (That's the greatest thing about these beds...they are 100% customizable.) My husband's side is very firm. He loves it. My side is now perfect and we've got a 20 year warranty. Got a divot or a sag? Call the company and they'll exchange a layer. Its that easy. Im done spending a fortune only to have the memory foam fail in less than 2 years. Side note: My mom had a latex bed around 1950. It became mine in the 60's. I used it till 1989. That same mattress is now sitting in a spare room in New England.
I bought a SleepEz latex mattress. I called and talked to a nice person there and got a queen size which meant i could get a soft side for me and a firm side for my partner and they suggested we go for the deeper mattress since we were both plus size. I love that mattress so very much.
We went with SleepEz and had a great experience. They are a small company and the employees are really knowledgeable and helpful. We both like firm mattresses and we went with extra 3 inch extra firm and 3 inch firm organic Dunlop and a 2 inch medium Talalay for the top layer. I recommend getting the layers split even if you both want the same firmness level. The advantages to this is: 1 the are much easier to maneuver them because latex is so heave, 2 They are easier to swap out I’d one of you needs a change, and finally, they are easier to flip them to allow for more even wear.
Debating saying anything because I don’t want to confuse you even more, but it’s hard to find opinions from other small framed people… Our stats are similar to yours and we just initiated a return for SleepEZ because it’s not working for me, but I would give them a try. I really wanted an all latex mattress to work out for us and went with SleepEZ because of the adjustable and split layers, giving the ability to customize to each of our needs. Their customer service is also really great - responsive and friendly. I hope whatever you decide works out wonderfully for the both of you!
First, before I say more, there is a recent post from a small framed individual about them loving their latex mattress. So, go search that post out if you haven’t seen it! :) It seems us small framed people need quite a bit of soft layers to ensure we get pressure relief. As for me, I’m wondering if I just don’t like latex in general. It seems, from the SleepEZ reps and that other individual, that I just don’t have enough soft layers, and that’s causing me pain. I’ve had terrible hip pain and even some back pain when I manage to sleep on my back instead of my side. But, even if I was able to relieve the pressure points, I’m not sure I’d be thrilled with the feel. It feels like the mattress is pushing against me, and I’m not enjoying that. It’s so hard to describe, something you’d just have to experience. As for motion transfer, my husband does wake me up when he moves. That being said, he’s an alligator, lol. There isn’t any subtle, try not to wake up my wife, movements. 😅 He’s a heavy sleeper and just doing his thing. But I didn’t really have this issue in our old Sealy. I haven’t noticed edge support being a huge issue. What I HAVE noticed is I can tell where we have it split down the middle. SleepEZ is so helpful and their return process is very easy and one of the cheaper in cost. If you’re really interested in giving latex a shot, I say go for it. Make sure you get enough soft, thick top layer support in your configuration.
Latex is the best. Edit: Mine came from SleepEZ. That link has some great info.
You're right of course. My journey is here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Mattress/comments/1jswv49/my_latex_mattress_research_so_far_which_of_these/ I am leaning towards Turmerry 7". They are in North Carolina and I live in Southern California. Also, Sleep EZ in Arizona. Avocado is local to me but their all latex is not in stock and does not look very firm - to me. And it's 3 times the cost of the Turmerry or Sleep EZ. Thank you for all the detailed info. I appreciate it.
We got latex for our crib and then kid mattress and loved sleepez. Small family company, pretty decent prices, great customer service. We have pillows ourselves and plan to get one for us when ours finally goes. I've spent my fair share of time on her bed and am happy with it. We resused the crib one as a sitting bench and has held up almost 7 years wonderfully. They have all the certifications you'd want. The bigger companies always get mentioned but they've done great for us.
