Based on 1 year's data from Mar 17, 2026 How it works
I bought the pillowtop version of this two years ago, before they made the changes to it about a year back. It sleeps very hot. Its definitely medium firm feeling in my opinion and has lost a lot of its foam durability over the years. There's indented and soft spots where my hips rest on the bed now, even though i did regular rotation of the bed. I saw on naplab in a cutout section of the mattress that its almost half foam and only has .75 inch of memory foam, which I think lead to the deterioration of mine. What's interesting to me is that the disclosure tag has the exact same fill weight and composition to the pillow top. I tried the s&f estate pillow top firm at a local store and it felt almost exactly the same as the lakeridge pillow top. Definitely buy it from costco cause id worry about longevity a bit
I was able to try the S&F estate pillow top firm and it felt almost exactly like the lakeridge from costco, maybe a tiny bit softer because it has less memory foam and more polyfoam. The extra firm s&f estate tight top had little to no give at all
I spent a couple of frustrating years trying out different mattresses that caused terrible hip and leg pain, most after a couple months of use. We sleep together, I’m 100 lbs and the wife probably 75. It’s been now over 6 months that we’re pain free, we purchased a Stearns & Foster whose coils can hold 500lbs. Same here, S&F estate plush firm turned to mush after five years, when I turned it on its side to get rid of, it bulged outward like a balloon as everything inside collapsed! Bought a Beloit Orthopedic medium firm , old school manufacturing technique, (flippable, encased coils, tufted cotton, no memory foam) reasonable cost, excellent bed and company.
I invested in a Sterns and Foster super firm 4” pillow top, on a frame instead of box springs. The pillow top is soft and comfortable along with the super firm mattress. I caught it on sale for $1,400 a few years ago. Great for my back.
Just avoid anything with foam or "hybrid" . We have a firm but pillowtop Stearns and Foster with pocket coils. Bought it from an unmarked warehouse Facebook-dealer almost 7 years ago, and it probably has at least 5 more years left on it.
This is so crazy, I just came here to say I just went through this exact experience 2 weeks ago, was overwhelmed and ended up with a stearns and foster estate firm and I’m obsessed
They're a great value, yes, but I got a Stearns Foster Estate Firm from Costco and its still a hybrid that sinks after a few minutes. By morning theres a huge trough that you have to roll out of. We first got a Sealy that was more memory foam than coils, imo. Tried that for a month and then upgraded to the Stearns and Foster but both were super soft feeling. I just want a CA King mattress thats like an old fashioned coil and padding (minimual foam, esp memory types) type that lasts like my old ones used to. When I was young my mattress never changed for 20 years. Where are those mattresses???!! **Edit: 2 Months later: I've now gone through every non box mattress at Costco and just initiated the return on the last one. (beautyrest something or other) I then remembered that Macy's Home stores used to have mattresses and I hadnt been there in a while. I think I might have found my mattress!! I'm going back later today to get one. While they have the usual hybrid/tempurpedic crap I counted 8 mattresses that would be counted as an old fashioned coil/innerspring non foam mattresses. They bounce when you bounce on them. I don't sink 6 inches into them. I might be able to sleep on them without sweating all night!! Wish me luck! I'll update again!**
$2100 Sterns and Foster, king size. Worth every penny
We bought a temper pedic split king adjustable mattress. Very comfortable, but we hated the split king. Put it in the guest room and bought a Stearns and Foster King. Also very nice. Our guest bed is now our sick/recovery bed.
The mattress will fit anywhere, it bends and compresses. The issue is the boxspring. Get split boxsprings and a king mattress you should be good to go. Also, we just bought a Logan and cove pinnacle bed in a box and it 100% is better than our previous top line stearns and foster king size bed.
