"Even when Meshing in a line of sight from over 300 ft away on a 1 Gb connection, download speeds climbed into the 500s."

"2000sq ft split level, but I got it with 3 bases and particularly for the Ethernet back haul as I have one unit in a shed about 75 ft from my house that I ran Ethernet to. (Shed is a converted game space for tabletop gaming)."

"Became FANTASTIC once I strung some ethernet cables among four of them including the one serving as a router in strategic locations (our house is rather large and some walls contain metal lathe). ... We now always have excellent connectivity and fast roaming."

"i noticed a BIG improvement once i conected all my decos via ethernet. ... it was a game changer, i use smart products from different brands and now i don't have any issues with disconections!! ... Some meross plugs disconected all the time before wiring my decos, now they work flawless!"

Has anyone used Deco or Asus mesh system? It seems that they are much cheaper than eeor and have a much better spec on paper than similar eero mesh system. It seems that eero is by far the most popular mesh system for home (ubiquiti is more for business). Any reason behind this? Is eero mesh more reliable and robust? I have eero 6 mesh sytems at home, and I think the performance is just ok/mediocre, and want to upgrade it, thus looking into a better system. To be fair, eero mesh was relatively reliable to me, only disconnect/slow down a couple of times in the past 2 years, but I'm also only get 1/3 of the speed on the mesh too. Edit: Does eero know that I’m considering to replace them? I did not have any problem before, but suddenly my iPad will not connect to the nearest euro, but to the farthest the weakest eero so weird, and no matter what I do, it will not connect to the proper eero, but I don’t have this problem with any other device devices… now eero becomes annoying

That is one thing I don't like eero, only has two ports, and one has to be reserved from the isp. I have 4 eeros, so I have to use a switch

I have one router and 3 nodes. They are all eero 6. all of the eero 6 was only geting 100 mbps... I think the placement is relatively centered though. I may try to have a tri-band mesh system, before I run the ethernet cables though.

r/HomeNetworkingAny Wifi 7 routers/mesh system recommendations for about $200-250?

I fall into two categories with wifi, Unifi and Eero. I've used both and they are both very solid. Budget Eero, have the cash then get Unifi. Your case, get Eero. I'm currently using Eero 6 on a gig connection and have zero desire to upgrade. What are you looking to improve? Unless you are doing device to device transfers you are not likely to see much of any change.

Unifi is the best if you can mount APs. I’ve used an eero 6 for a long time now and don’t have any complaints and highly recommend it.

I love my eero mesh system. Currently using Arris Surfboard modem with about four Eero 6. Make sure you're not over purchasing... For me, I only need eero 6, because I can't get much more "internet" from my ISP where I live.

Eero is pretty good. it has both 2.4 and 5 ghz. mesh networking, with ethernet backhaul, so you get super strong signal everywhere. including the bathrooms lol. easy to set up as seen here [https://youtu.be/ooGnTxTXmRg](https://youtu.be/ooGnTxTXmRg)

Whatever you do, make sure the mbps is for you. I got the eero 6, expensive 2 pack for $150 and it’s trash. It’s rated for up to 500mbps, and my Xbox which is about 10’ away from the extended, gets 70 mbps.  You’re going to spend 2-300 for a solid eero system.

That’s all I hear. And I find it to be extreme bullshit lol Shouldnt need to be a tech guru to get speeds out of something that’s supposed to be simple.

just get a 3 pack of eero 6 or 7. the first one acts as the router. if you can hook them all up via cat5/6 thats great. if not, these still work very well.

kind of a fast list you put together. eero 6 is still fantastic option for a larger 5ghz band if you dont have any new 6ghz devices. also, where is the 6e ?

r/FiosShould I upgrade to 500 mbps?

Got the basic Eero 6 last week for the Prime Day sale. Fingers crossed but ever since I used it to replace my Verizon router I’m not having any slow speed issues. Gonna wait a few more weeks to hope these good speeds hold. Haven’t had my Smart TV in the basement buffer once since I installed Eero.

r/googlehomeWhat Mesh Wifi Is Everyone Using ?

Is it definitely a WiFi problem, or do you have an unreliable broadband connection that’s dropping out. I was suffering from the latter - had a fast connection that would regularly disconnect for ~1 minute (particularly in the evening) so made streaming / online gaming very tiresome. To answer your question though, I use an eero 6 mesh and very happy with it. Refurbished nodes are widely available through eBay etc for about half the retail price.

100% this. Don’t use their horrible extenders or even the gateway WiFi. Went passthrough mode and use EERO mesh WiFi hubs. I have perfect 500-700 mb/s download throughout my whole house and garage.

Ooo I didn’t know about Ubiquity. Just read into them. I’m on the EERO 6’s (I think I only spent $300, so wasn’t too insane) but I might check those out if I upgrade my speeds soon. Thanks for the heads up!

r/wifiWifi range not reaching my bedroom PLEASE HELP IM GOING INSANE
2 months ago

Your problem is simple. The router Spectrum gave you is weak, and it is sitting too far from your room. You do not need Ethernet in every room, and you do not need to touch the coax ports at all. Ignore the video you saw. You also do not want a “wifi extender.” Those cut your speed in half because they repeat the signal instead of creating a real network. Here is the easy path: 1. Buy a two pack mesh system. One unit replaces the Spectrum router and plugs into the Spectrum modem with the same cable the old router used. The second unit goes in the hallway or living room halfway between the modem and your bedroom. You only need power for the second unit. No coax. No Ethernet. 2. Set them up using the app that comes with the system. It takes five minutes. The mesh units talk to each other wirelessly and create one strong network. Your bedroom will get full signal because the second unit is right down the hall instead of across the whole house. 3. For brands, eero 6 or TP-Link Deco 6 are fine. They cost about 100 to 150 dollars for a two or three pack. Put it on your Christmas list. Either one will be miles better than what Spectrum gave you. 4. Do not overthink MoCA or powerline. They work in some houses and fail in others. Mesh is the least headache and works in almost every small house. If you do those steps your PS5 will stay online and you can stop fighting with the signal.
