Epson - Expression Photo HD XP-15000 Wide-format Printer

Epson ET-16650 (16600 and 15000 also). Can print up to 13”x19” with 11”x17” border less. I have printed both 11” x 17” and 12” x 18” that made nice 8 1/2” x 11” text blocks for books. I have also printed on 13” x 19” art canvas that I used for book covers - full color. Very nice printer but it is pricey.

FWIW, I am happy with my epson XP-15000, a 6-color printer that can go up to 13x19". Lower printer and ink cost, and a pretty good starter printer for my own photos that I'd like to run at home. I still send out larger prints to a local shop, but this does a good job for quick, flexible and smaller prints.

I saved up and bought the Epson Expression XP 15000. It was not cheap but I’ve had it for nearly 5 years and it has been flawless. It prints up to 13x19” borderless (though sometimes this can be tricky) and I have printed hundreds and hundreds of archival quality prints with it. Also, epson’s line of professional media is widely regarded as excellent. Yes—it’s outside your budget but maybe save up? It’s such an awesome and reliable machine.

If you’re doing dark, saturated work, Epson tends to win every time. The EcoTank models are great for long-term ink costs, but if you want really punchy blacks, look at the Epson Photo line (like the XP-15000). The six-color system handles gradients and shadows way nicer than the basic CMYK setups. Canon is good too, but Canon blacks usually sit more “matte” unless you go into their pro line.

>Epson ET-8550 I would go with that. I have XP-15000, but I had to convert it to use 3rd party refillable ink cartridges because the ink was super expensive. Ink tank is the way to go. Make sure you print test sheets every few days if you aren't actively printing to prevent print head clogging.

Go with the Epson 8550. A huge range of print media and if your selling art prints on etsy, it's safe to assume your customers aren't seeking archival quality. Dye inks will give you a wider more vibrant gamut and once you select your paper of choice and icc profile (red river papers for the profiles and sample packs of paper)you will get thousands of prints out of the tanks. And the cost for all six inks as refills is like $30 on amazon right now. The Epson claria inks are rated to last 75 years+, much longer than any of your customers plan to have the print anyways. And if pigment ink is a necessity then when you buy the 8550, fill it with pigment inks and not dye inks. But this must be done on empty clean tanks and there is no going back. The 8550 will give you much better profit margins. The only reason to go with something like p900 is that 17" wide format is a must have, but then in that case you might as well just step up to a 24" inch plotter. After that, you move into the big leagues and run eco solvents One last note if you want a lower entry point but wide format you can go with an Epson expression for like $200 or so that will print in super a3 or 13"x19". It uses claria inks as well but in cartridges. Lower initial cost but higher long term. Your choice.

I have an Epson expression and it's fucking horrible do not get one. The biggest waste of money of anything I have ever bought.
