Uboom X should've been marketed as a "hifi" speaker with a nicer design, given to some audiophile channels with your DSP as standard setting and it would've been selling like hot cakes for 3x the price... But earfun managed to screw it up, anyway I'm glad that it exists so those of us who want a great natural sound can get what I would consider the finest sounding battery powered speaker at any price and yet its like $125 on average. Still very sad about the channel because there were some amazing videos there but it definitely showed that people even with the best and most objective sound demos simply can't handle watching someone demonstrate a product that's better than whatever they bought, after all, that's a direct intelligence attack for most.

I've heard a lot of bluetooth speakers, I also have the Vifa Copenhagen 2.0 which could maby be the next finest sounding battery speaker imo... Only issue with the Uboom X is the design. It's weird and most have some problem with this but in terms of pure sound quality when sitting in front of a speaker, Earfun Uboom X in Oluv's custom firmware and indoor dsp setting is probably the best on the market. I would rank Vifa Copenhagen 2.0 (in late night mode and playing in its sweet spot) as close second in terms of the overall sound (obviously not talking only about bass and power here, these two are proper "hifi" compared to the rest of the market and I've been searching for something potentially better than the Copenhagen since I got it 4 years ago).

Uboom X in Oluv's indoor would be absolutely the best choice, maby you can still find some Vifa speakers? Also, Ldac/Aptx advantage is negligible, you'll get more improvement by lowering some peak in the frequency response via eq

It has deeper bass but Vifa sounds much smoother and more refined (in Late Night setting) and can also play louder than the Hk. Ultimately Earfun Uboom X in Oluv's indoor mode sounds overall better than both imo and will get improved even more because he is working to improve it right now...

Bose soundlink flex 2 has great bass for on the go. Especially for it's size. If you play with the eq in the bose app and put it in the corner. It sounds way bigger that it's size. Earfun Uboom X is also great. Its larger but almost the same price as the bose. The bass on it is fantastic. Devialet Mania is an wonderful sounding speaker. Big bass, great highs, and a big price haha 😉 Jbl flip 7 or charge 6 are great for outdoor usage.

I really like the UBOOM X, but I wouldn't call it a premium product. It has cheap startup sounds, and the build quality isn't very premium either. It's just plastic and a bit of rubber. It does sound good tho.

I wouldn't recommend any Earfun speaker to someone who isn't very tech savy. Every Earfun speaker sounds mediocre out of the box and they need EQing. I really like my UBOOM X, but I just can't recommend it to my mom. That's why my mom has a JBL Charge. Also, any of the stock (normal or OLUV's) EQs are way too focused on deep bass, which isn't the best with classical music. And it's not very portable I think, it's rather huge.

Those are all very different speakers, but if you want to have the best sound, bigger is almost always better. UBOOM X is a good choice.

I will probably get flamed for this, but the UBOOM X was definitely the best purchase of the year, great speaker for the €91 I paid. It can't compete with the JBL Boomboxes, but those are at least 3 times more expensive. I bought a Soundcore Motion 300 too, that thing is pretty good too. Feels and sounds very premium for a low price.

Bought it about 6 months ago, had to use a coupon code on the global website, so you pay in dollars. Dollar price and euro price is the same, but the conversion for dollar to euro is pretty good. Sadly they discontinued the speaker, I would like it in TWS. I haven't listened to the Boombox 3, but I feel like people compare the uboom x to more expensive speakers. The UBOOM X is not perfect, the way highs sound is a bit weird because the woofers get a full range signal, but overall it's pretty good. And the speaker gets very loud with decent bass. I mostly use it as a party or outdoor speaker, and it does that very well. At home I have a full surround system with big bookshelf speakers, and a big Edifier 2.1 system at my desk. Those sound much better, but I can't take those with me lol.

I think the Oluv eq part is overrated. Yes it sounds pretty bad out of the box, and yes it sounds decent with the Oluv EQ. But people pretend he is the best and whatever. His EQ's lack upper bass and mids, while the normal EQ has mids. For the price it's still a pretty good speaker, but there are much better options if you spend a bit more money or buy something non portable.

Really depends on the EQ, it sounds pretty bad out of the box, but with the Oluv EQ it sounds pretty good for a portable speaker for this price, and it gets pretty loud too. But an Edifier bookshelf speaker with the same price will sound much much cleaner than this, but those lack deep bass. The UBOOM X lacks upper bass and mids tho, especially with the Oluv eq, and the highs can sound weird because the woofers don't have a crossover. I bought it for €95, I'm pretty sure there isn't a better sounding loud portable Bluetooth speaker.

I like the UBOOM X, but it's not neutral or balanced at any point. It's a boombox speaker, lots of volume and lots of bass, and it's pretty good at that for the money.

It might be close to neutral, but it's not close to the clarity that any studio speaker has. It's just not made for high quality audio reproduction. It doesn't help that there isn't a "real" crossover inside the speaker. The tweeters have some kind of crossover so they don't get any low end, but the woofers get full range audio. This makes the treble sound super weird sometimes. It is a pretty good party speaker tho

I have used it in some cars as well. Tried my old JBL Xtreme first, but the bass doesn't really keep up in a car. The Uboom X worked great with the BOOMXXX eq. No portable Bluetooth speaker can compete with a decent car stereo tho.

If you can still get your hands on an EarFun UBOOM X, you should consider it. It's a great sounding speaker with a sensational price-performance ratio.

If you're looking for high volume and powerful bass, you'll have to compromise on speaker size. I had a Soundcore Motion Boom, which is significantly more powerful than the JBL Charge. But even that wasn't powerful enough for my taste, especially for outdoor use. I switched to the EarFun UBOOM X and couldn't be happier. Yes, it's big and weighs 4 kilos. I even transport two of them on my bike to private outdoor events. It takes some effort and hassle, but it's absolutely worth it. For me, the UBOOM X is the perfect compromise between size and sound. It delivers absolutely great, rich and full sound at volumes that are sufficient for me. A speaker with an even higher maximum volume that is larger and heavier would not be an option for me. However, I wouldn't want anything with less power than the UBOOM X. The EarFun UBOOM X offers by far the best sound quality and performance you can get from your selection. Check out sound comparisons on YouTube. I have a pair of these, and they produce a full sound like a small PA system up to a certain volume, even outdoors. It is clearly a class above the Lava and the ULT 5 and two classes above the Charge and the ULT 3. So, that about sums up my enthusiasm for the UBOOM X. However, if you want to use the speaker often with your laptop, I would recommend a stereo pair of active Bluetooth bookshelf speakers, such as those from Edifier.

The EarFun haters are on the rise again. LMAO! This subreddit is a bit of a joke! If you haven't heard of the UBOOM X yet, I'd suggest having a look on YouTube and in the trade press. It's a fantastic overall package that is second to none. The negative comments here in the subreddit or the downvotes mean nothing at all, or rather, they just mean there are ignorant people out there. But that's nothing new.

I have a pair of EarFun UBOOM X and I'm thrilled with how good and powerful they sound. Admittedly, it takes some effort to carry these two four-kilogram speakers around everywhere. But the rich sound they deliver at private outdoor events or when meeting up with friends, for example, makes up for it, and I've already received countless positive comments about how excellent the sound quality is. At medium volume, the performance is comparable to that of a small PA system. I recently used them in TWS at a distance of around 30 meters. It worked perfectly. Once you have manually paired them using TWS, they will remember each other and automatically pair in stereo mode the next time you switch them on. I've never had any problems with custom EQs in TWS, these have only been reported in connection with the use of Oluv's DSP programs. I think the UBOOM X sounds even better with a custom EQ, both at low volume indoors and at higher volume outdoors. The battery life is also excellent, and they have an IP67 rating, meaning they are water and dust resistant. The EarFun Audio app works well. They simply offer a great overall package.

If sound quality is your top priority, you should check out the EarFun UBOOM X. If you live in the US, you're in luck. It's still available there. Note that this is a boombox-class speaker, so it's quite large and heavy. I have a pair of these and they sound fantastic, whether indoors, outdoors, at low or high volume. But I wonder why you want a portable Bluetooth speaker if you only use it indoors. Wouldn't two active monitor speakers/bookshelf speakers be a better solution for you? The answer is quite simple, but it doesn't really help: Two speakers in TWS (stereo) sound more than twice as good as one, and a larger speaker generally produces a fuller sound. The first question you should ask yourself is: what size speaker is practical for me? The second consideration is whether you are willing to regularly transport and set up two speakers. Budget can also be a limiting factor, of course, if you can only afford one large speaker or two small ones. I opted for two large speakers and I'm thrilled with how well they perform. I was able to buy two EarFun UBOOM Xs for less than €200. Admittedly, it takes some effort to lug these two speakers, each weighing just over four kilos, around everywhere. However, the sound quality and richness they provide at private outdoor events or when meeting friends makes it worthwhile. I would recommend buying the larger, more powerful speaker from your selection now. Then, you can experience using it in practice and decide later whether you might want a second one.

The UBOOM X would still be my first choice. There are currently four second-hand ones listed on Kleinanzeigen, including one in Leipzig priced at €120 (negotiable). Guys, don't believe this Oluv disciple's fairy tales. The UBOOM X sounds fantastic with custom EQs that allow it to be perfectly adapted to spatial conditions and personal preferences. It sounds great on its own, in stereo (TWS), indoors, outdoors, at low volume, at medium and high volume, in small rooms, in large rooms, in reverberant rooms, in muffled rooms, with acoustic music, with electronic music, with hard rock and metal, with jazz and classical music and so on ...

Unfortunately, I can't comment on that. The first Bluetooth speaker I bought was the Xiaomi Mi Portable Bluetooth Speaker (16W), which I got for less than €20 in 2021. It was good value for money, but I quickly upgraded to the Soundcore Motion Boom. I've been using two EarFun UBOOM X speakers for over a year now, which together cost me less than €200. The best Bluetooth speaker purchase of my life! I'm still absolutely thrilled with them, and no other Bluetooth speaker has tempted me to buy it so far.

Congratulations to OP for finding a Bluetooth speaker that perfectly suits his needs. It was obviously not an easy journey for him. I can relate to some things in his multi-review, but not others. I would also like to briefly refer to a comment made by the saxophonist, who lives on a boat and frequently talks excessively about his immense collection of various wireless speakers. I can only stare blankly in disbelief at comments such as, "The Tribit Lava sounds good, but the UBOOM X doesn't," or, "The Soundcore 2 Plus and the Boom 2 sound good, but the UBOOM X doesn't." While the UBOOM X may not be as powerful as the JBL Boombox 3, it has more than enough power for many applications and offers a full sound with an excellent audio quality. It's more compact, lighter, and significantly cheaper than the JBL Boombox 3 or 4. The UBOOM X is an attractive option for those who use a speaker on the go and don't require extreme loudness. It's also ideal for those who want to enjoy music on their speaker even at low volumes. Those who don't recognize its quality either have little experience with authentic hi-fi sound or used it incorrectly.

I don't think the speakers you have in mind are powerful enough for your application. I would at least choose a speaker from the boombox class, such as the W-King X20, the Tribit StormBox Blast 1 or 2, or, if you can still get it, an EarFun UBOOM X, which offers the best value for money. The Soundcore Boom 2 Plus/Pro is quite light, but I deliberately put it at the bottom of my list.

For similar events, I use two EarFun UBOOM X in TWS. I would also place the speakers by the nets, but on the outside. Two speakers give you a completely different sound impression compared to a single one.

Forget the Megaboom 4, it doesn't even come close to the UBOOM X. If the UBOOM X is no longer available in your country, alternatives are the Tribit StormBox Blast 1 or 2, the JBL Boombox 3, the W-King X20 or the Zealot ZE21 in the boombox class. Interesting party boxes are the Onn Large Party Speaker, the TRONSMART Halo 300, the W-King T12 or the JBL Partybox 120, 320, 520, 720.

If you want it to be easy to transport, then check out the EarFun UBOOM X.

The dance group is surely also enthusiastic about good audio quality. In this respect, the UBOOM X certainly has more to offer than the Turtelbox. But when it comes to volume, you can't compare a Bluetooth speaker with a PA system, of course. EDIT: If you're not on a tight budget, I recommend buying a pair of speakers and pairing them in TWS mode. This will give you a higher overall volume. And I'm sure I don't need to explain the other advantages of a stereo setup to you.

That must be really annoying. With the Bose Soundlink Max, I've also often read that the battery drains itself. With the Soundcore Motion Boom, which I have used for over two years, and with my two EarFun UBOOM Xs, which I have been using for a good 3 months, I have never noticed that the battery loses charge when not in use.

Take a look at the UBOOM X in particular, which is currently the best value for money in the small boombox class.

The EarFun UBOOM X currently offers by far the best price/performance ratio. It has a very high sound quality, comparable to the JBL Boombox 3 or the Sony ULT Field 7, but it is noticeably smaller and lighter and costs less than a JBL Charge. In terms of overall sound, the UBOOM X is comparable to a small hi-fi system and costs just over 100 dollars. So for your budget, you could easily buy two UBOOM Xs and use them in the TWS as a stereo system if you had the space. Please note that two speakers in stereo sound more than twice as good as one, and that music only really comes to life with a wide soundstage.

Yes, in my opinion EarFun hasn't done itself any favours with the cheap-looking lighting effects. The worst thing is that you can almost always only see the speaker in photos or videos with the lighting activated. A brief fact-based comparison between the Tribit Stormbox Blast 2 and the EarFun UBOOM X. The only advantages of the Blast 2 are a slightly higher maximum volume with acceptable sound, connection options for microphones (with reverb control) and the more elaborate party lighting. The UBOOM X has advantages in all other aspects. It can produce a deeper bass and a better overall sound quality, i.e. a more linear frequency response, better clarity, more authentic separation and reproduction of instruments and vocals. It really does have audiophile qualities. It can be charged more quickly via USB C, a shoulder strap is included, it is noticeably smaller, lighter and significantly cheaper. It can therefore be said that the UBOOM X is the better overall package for most users. It is the speaker for music lovers. The Blast 2, on the other hand, is better suited for smaller (karaoke) parties. For a real party, however, I would prefer a JBL PartyBox 320 or something even bigger.

It is more compact and noticeably lighter than any of the other four, i.e. easier and more comfortable to carry around, if that is relevant for your father. In terms of sound, you make no compromises. The boombox is slightly more bass-heavy, while the UBOOM X sounds very balanced and can be adjusted very well in the app with EQs to suit different listening situations.

Take a look at the UBOOM X, in terms of performance it is far superior to a JBL Charge 5 or a UE Boom 3, and unlike the JBL PartyBoxes it is IP67 dust and water protected. The JBL Boombox 3 offers more power overall than the Brane X and the Authentics 500. Alternatively, you could also go for the Earfun UBOOM X, which performs at a similar level to the Boombox 3, but is not only more compact and lighter, but also cheaper. For your budget, you could easily buy two for a stereo setup. If you have enough space in the garage, which I assume you do, you could distribute the sound much better in the room with two speakers. The difference is huge, with a wide stereo stage the music really comes to life and fills the whole room.

With the EarFun UBOOM X, you get an incredibly huge upgrade in terms of sound. But the speaker is big and heavy. Check out the specs! I have never heard another Bluetooth speaker with such audiophile hi-fi sound. But it's not a designer speaker. You have to ask yourself where you are willing to compromise, on looks or on sound. I've literally only ever owned one other Bluetooth speaker, the Altec Lansing mini lifejacket 3. I could tell immediately after listening to the u-boom x that it's not an audiophile speaker, and it's insane that somebody would make that claim. The fact that it sounds like complete ass without a total overhaul of the DSP and hella EQing is a pretty good indicator that this is a software solution for a hardware problem. That being said, I got one last week for $150 canadian, and I'm over the moon with the value. I can't imagine getting anything close to this level of performance of another speaker, for this price. Many of the YouTube reviews I watched were comparing it to the JBL Boombox 3, which retails for about $570 Canadian and was on sale on Prime for $399. And while I believe it's probably a much nicer speaker with much better sound, in more conditions, with more daily driver functionality, I feel like I'd still be more pleased with the sound from the u-boom at this price point. Tried the U boom X and seems like a decent speaker. Much better than my onyx 7. Similarly priced in India. Give it a listen. Best part about it is the Eq i usually use Studio for the stable audio and its fucking rugged man. Looking to get another, only on sale tho. The speaker will go Boom boom if you want it to its very bass heavy.
