MarvinG1984 1.0Most of my speakers, and I have plenty of them, the sweetspot sits somewhere around 70 - 75% volume. With the Charge 5 at 75%, it sounded like a kitchen radio. Luckily I got it during Black Friday for "only" $103 USD. IMO still too expensive for what it is. Forget about the retail price at $179, you must be insane or don't care about money to drop that kind of dough on this speaker.

If it does sound indeed better, than the regular Charge 5, $140 is fair. But yeah, I will never recommend the Charge 5 to anyone, after my experience. Matter of fact, I will sh\*t on it continuously if I see it recommended here.
Just be aware, the Charge 5 rolls off bass after 50%. Anything above this, and the bass will not increase. At least that was my experience.
Well most, if not all of my speakers have a sweet spot around 75%. With the Charge 5 at 75% volume, all I heard was mids and highs and a tiny amount of bass. For a retail price of $180 dollars, the Charge 5 is useless for me outdoors.

dr-phils-taint 0.7JBL charge series is always a great buy, With a $150 budget. I have had my JBL charge 3 since 2018, only recently upgraded to the party box series, because I wanted something bigger and with way more bass. For a desk speaker the charge 4-5 is perfect, it has enough bass with EQ added. The flip and the other smaller ones that you can clip on, are going to be slightly quiet compared to the charge series. The charge series is the happy medium between good sound and portability.
Additional-Train419 0.6105db? Thats complete bullshit, i got a jbl charge 6 louder and that clocks at 101,3db(A) and for the 250$ price tag it has worse specs/performance then a charge 6/5. It has worse SPL, worse clarity, worse battery, and worse bass response although durability is mostly equal as far as i have abused both (ranger and charge 6).
dummsurfer 0.6Would perhaps you care to specify the exact specs of the speakers and the amp? I got the Flip 6 recently which is pretty much identical to the Flip 7 sound wise and I was vastly disappointed with its' outdoors capacity. It is a small room/apartment speaker at most. The Charge 5/6 delivers great performance/portability ratio. The Xtreme 3 was a huge letdown outdoors as well, you just expect more from a speaker of that size. I never owned a Boombox but from what I read it is a huge upgrade on the Xtreme. So if size/portability is secondary to you - don't cheap out and get the Boombox. If portability is important go with the Charge 6.

I use the charge5 a lot Travel and outdoors. At home i use bigger speakers like the marshall acton 3 or the Stormbox Blast.

Anxious-Ad8351 0.5I mean for the big speakers a partybox 210 is like okay (also speakers of the same size usually sound very similar), 310 is the best for medium sized rooms and anything above is practically not needed. For the medium sized ones, a boombox 3, charge 4/5/6 are pretty good cost/sound sound variants. For the smaller/little ones it's hard to choose, since you usually can't get much bass out of them. I chose mine by the specs and knowledge. JBL has been around for years and has developed a pretty huge ecosystem of syncing tws clear sounding speakers. Although they're pretty pricey, I think most of their speakers are worth it. How to choose: Ratings/comments under product Specs (Size, wattage and speaker range. The lower it goes, the better it usually is.) Price: must not be overpriced. The less rgb the lower the price (usually (not talking about partyboxes rn))
