"Same experience, spent thousands and the software makes them unusable. They were so stubborn about it and I spent hundreds of hours trouble shooting trying to get them to work together. Just a complete failure from a good start. Absolutely agree."
"But do not touch the Sonos Roams. Great sound but the setup is so finicky I want to hurl it at a wall. I think it’s because it defaults to trying to use wifi rather than Bluetooth."

"Can be a pia to pair with Bluetooth initially"
Sonos roam is your best bet then. It lasts really long and is waterproof and sounds great
Sonos Roam, I have it on a wireless charger near the bathroom so it’s close and easy to
I have a Sonos Roam in my bathroom that works great. I replaced the outlet with an AC/USB combo outlet so it can stay plugged all the time.
Move2’s are amazing. Have a pair (and a pair of Roams). Highly recommend. Great sound, battery, bass, well built. You will love it. Strongly recommend a pair if you can manage
Another great attribute of the Bose is that, even if you don’t use it very often, it seems to retain battery life. I went a month without charging, and it was still at 90% battery life when I turned it on. My Sonos Roam, which I still quite like, drains battery very quickly if not plugged in.
Sonos Roam travels with me everywhere. Sounds amazing, fairly compact. Can be a pia to pair with Bluetooth initially, but once setup it’s great.
For under $300 I’d say the Bose SoundLink Flex or the Sonos Roam are probably the best balance of sound quality, durability and ease of use. Both pairs instantly feel premium, and the battery life is solid. If you want something tougher for outdoors, JBL Xtreme 3 is a tank and still sounds great tbh.
I’ve got a 1st gen Sonos Roam and love it. I use it in the bathroom all the time, but it doesn’t live there (I use it around the house depending on what I’m doing). I will say the battery life isn’t great unless you want to manually power it on/off as needed. Otherwise you’d want to look into a way to power it in the bathroom. You mentioned having one outlet in the bathroom. It’s pretty simple to add a second outlet off another one (if you have any electrical experience). Or it’d be a small job for an electrician. Could probably even hide it inside the vanity (if you have one).
There are probably underlying issues with the Roam you have purchased. That said, it is built for mobile, and NOT for stereo pairing with existing Sonos Speakers. I own one, but mostly use it outdoors while hiking, and I find its range on full charge to last well over 6hours in the cold with zero issues.
One or two, stereo or not, DSP allows psychoacoustic audio. So it can sound like stereo. This allows smaller size and cost but very good sound for **consumers**. The Sonos Roam is small but can sound really great. Sonos sends at 24/96, max I think. They can also be paired so, start with one, add another to make stereo. With streaming, powered speaker systems make sense for most **consumers**. My LP and 8 track generation retired sister has had all Sonos for years now, as do many with a very good budget but zero interest in a stereo or setting one up. Pandora is her jam. She is 100% happy.
