Based on 1 year's data from Jan 28, 2026 How it works
* ASUS ZenScreen OLED > If you want colour accuracy, true blacks and ultra-light weight >> $309-399 * ROG Strix XG17AHPE > If you want high-refresh rate, 240Hz >> $429 – 449 * Arzopa Z1FC > if you want price justifies the features. $106–130 It's not about paying more, it's about get what you want, without diminishing returns which is paying for no added value. Meaning, get what you want, don't pay more if you don't have to. You can get other things with the extra.
depends on your budget, tight budget arzopa. no limits, matic ROG, parang sila lang meron quality na 17.3inch high refresh rate portable monitor
I got the older 144hz version of the [ASUS Strix 1080p 17.3 monitor](https://a.co/d/b8kga51). Highly recommend. Even has built in speakers.
Yeah portable monitor with wireless HDMI. You're already thinking the right thing and could figure out the best combination of options... ASUS ROG 17.3" Portable Gaming Monitor + EZCast or any of the million HDMI extenders out there, something that can be powered by the monitor and tucked/attached behind it. Anything else is going to be iPad/laptop/app based.
I use a 17-inch portable gaming monitor from Asus for my Claw and Switch 2 when I want a bigger screen. 1080p. Up to 244hz (not that either device will push frame rates that high). It supports Variable Refresh Rate. It's thin and light. The downside is it's pretty expensive.
I bought it used from eBay for $200
It's ok to me ....
I use the asus xg17 it's a decent monitor 240hz but the micro hdmi connector sucks and probably not worth the price
I love that monitor. I used it when I play Victoria III on the go.
I have the same portable monitor and thinking about getting the ally x. Does the ally x keep the monitor charged if the ally x is plugged into the wall? Trying to think about the simplest setup for a LAN party
The monitor doesn't have to be powered separately, I've used it with my laptop and it can display and charge the monitor with a single cable. Was curious if the ally x could do that too. Anyways, thanks!
Yeah, I just ordered it on Amazon since I already have 1 LG monitor that I could pair up with it when I’m just leaving it on my desk and I was sold on the stand upgrade albeit 100 dollars more. Definitely a lot of cash but the 240hz will be nice to pair with my 144hz monitor for a mix.
Sorry for replying so late, I just opted for the Asus one with 1080p 240hz because I had the money. The monitor is really good and I like the custom folding stand that it came with (extra $100) however there seems to be some noticeable edge backlight bleed that others have also pointed out which is just enough to be a cause of concern especially because this is a 550 dollar portable monitor. The brightness of the display is 300 bits which is just sufficient enough not not complain about at 100% but if you’re using it on the battery mode you’ll have to turn it down to make the display last longer and the brightness difference becomes very noticeable. Overall I’m still gonna keep it because it’s the best you’ll get for the price, the build quality is superb minus the plastic bezels and I don’t mind the bleed enough that I’d want to return it plus I think there’s a 3 year warranty on it so I’ll only send it back if the bleed gets noticeably bad TLDR: I got the Asus XG17APHE, best portable monitor to get for the money, cool folding stand, build mostly of aluminum, 240hz display very nice, speakers are trash, plastic bezels on front are trash, and Noticeable backlight bleed on the edges (almost enough to not buy) If they made an update to this monitor what I’d want to see is: (full aluminum frame housing, higher PPI at 1440p or more, higher LCD display brightness at 400 nits minimum while fixing the backlight bleed or just switching to mini led/oled, and get better WAY better speakers)
