I used something like this https://a.co/d/e9GOsYD Mine is called “Kyy” and it was like $60-75 and they provide a few different cords (usbc, mini hdmi, etc) to connect to your laptop. I carry it with me in my laptop bag.

r/workfromhomeDoes anyone here use a portable screen for WFH? Thinking about how to avoid 'desk burnout' lately.

I do. It’s pretty awesome for times I want to get out. Not enough to be a permanent solution but enough to make it possible to move around easily. I’m hesitating to give the details lest i am tagged as a spammer. It was on Amazon. 15” or so foldable monitor by MNN. Has worked awesome.

r/SteamDeckNeed Advice: Best Setup for Using Steam Deck with Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse?

I've had a deck for 2 years which I use during travel mainly. I have the setup you're asking about for hotel stays but I usually use my portable monitor for my laptop and the hotel TV for the deck. Go with a dock. I have the stock one which comes with a second charger like the deck comes with. That way I have a travel charger and a home charger to swap the dock with. If you go with a USB C hub and wired components then you'd need power for the hub anyway so you basically have a dock at that point. BT vs Wireless is up to you on what you play. Wired is hands down more responsive, but not much enough for me to notice. My mouse and keyboard are from Keychron and I have BT issues with them sometimes. At home my BT G502 mouse has never had a problem. Nor has my wired keychron keyboard. This area depends on the HW you buy. G502 is a solid mouse but I cannot speak to using it with the deck or without the charging pad. I haven't had any issues with my Keychron keyboard and the deck. I use an 8bitdo Ultimate controller. Had some issues with the controller itself due to lag or multiple presses on keys. Haven't had that in a minute though so idk if something changed. I used an Xbox controller before and it worked fine. My portable monitor is a cheap one from MNN. I could use it with a mini HDMI to HDMI. The Deck Dock has DP as well. If I was you I'd find a nicer portable monitor than I did.
