"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"
"For an open style earbud, these genuinely surprised me with their overall performance in sound at this price point. ... IMHO, these Soundpeats PearlClip Pro are probably the best I’ve heard in this under $50 price category when it comes to this style of earbuds. ... These are one of the best clip-on earbuds in this price category especially when it comes to price to performance in sound quality and feature set"

"I absolutely do not regret buying the robot vacuum. ... My room is a lot cleaner and dust-free now, and I can tell just by wiping my floor with a wet toilet paper and seeing barely anything picked up. ... I've been getting allergens a ton less, most of which not even in my room. ... All this for the commitment of a weekly emptying is miles more convenient than vacuuming traditionally, as opposed to making a few taps on my phone. ... looking back it was definitely worth the investment."
"I also have two giant long haired (nonshedding excessively) cats. I shed hair a LOT. Worse than the cats. It works so well."
"I found that it was even able to get up caked on Kitty vomit if I simply sprayed those areas with cleaning vinegar beforehand. ... I was pleasantly surprised."

"On top of that, you get a great app, excellent navigation and good obstacle avoidance. ... It also has a really fantastic navigation and obstacle avoidance system that is far superior to any vacuum only robovac that I have experience with."
"the avoidance is great ... It even passed the fake dog poop test."
"It has lidar technology so it doesn’t run over things I might accidentally leave on the floor."

"Ich dachte erst, dass es auch ohne Möpse geht, aber mit Wischen ist das Teil noch um ein Vielfaches besser. 😍🥰 ... Doch alleine das Nass-Wischen ist so viel wert. ... Die Kids rennen mit Schwitzefüßen gerne ohne Socken. Schon dadurch lohnt es sich, dass da mal jemand drüberwischt."
"decent mopping"
"no deep cleaning or maintenance needed for a base ... personally for me, regular maintenance and attention to machine while it is going is easier than remembering to deep clean a base filled with water and chemicals and weeks-old grime. ... Plus it keeps the mop head wetter/cleaner/more efficient during sessions when I do it myself vs machine kinda rinsing it every so often."

# TLDR: Get the **L10s Pro** if it's within budget. If not, **D10 Plus** is the best bang for the buck **with a base**. Auto-empty is a game-changer in a dusty home. # Model Rundown: # ✅ L10s Pro * **Best cleaning performance** of the group (top-tier suction + obstacle avoidance) * **Does wet mopping well** with rotating pads * No base, but solid overall * **Best for large apartments** if you don’t mind emptying it manually # ✅ L10s (non-Pro) * Older, still solid * Has AI navigation and **comes with an auto-empty base** * Slightly weaker suction than Pro, less smart avoidance # ✅ D10s Pro * Decent suction and basic lidar nav * **No base** * Good for smaller or simpler homes — not ideal for large, dusty spaces unless you’re OK emptying it often # ✅ D10 Plus * Similar to D10s Pro but **comes with a base** * Very basic navigation (bumps into stuff sometimes), but **great value** for the price # Why the Base Matters (especially with dust): If your place gets dusty and you’re busy (or just hate emptying bins daily), the base makes life *so* much easier. You can go a couple of weeks without touching the robot. Totally worth it if that’s a pain point. # 🏆 Recommendation Based on Budget Priorities: * **Top pick overall**: L10s Pro (best clean + navigation, even without base) * **Best value with base**: D10 Plus * **All-around balance**: L10s (base + decent mopping) Let me know your price ceiling and I can tell you exactly what to grab and what to skip.
Ah, got it — thanks for the context! If you’re choosing between the **L10s Pro** and **Roborock models**, it really depends which Roborock you're comparing against. But here’s how they usually stack up: # [Dreame L10s Pro](https://tin.al/L10sPro) * Strong suction (5300Pa) * Reactive obstacle avoidance (3D structured light sensor) * Great mop with rotating pads * No base, but good bin size * Excellent value *if* you don’t mind manual bin emptying # Comparable Roborock Models: * **Q7 Max/Q7 Max+**: Great suction, but no rotating mop. Avoids L10s Pro-level mopping. * **Q8 Max**: Similar cleaning to L10s Pro, slightly better app features. Usually lacks mop rotation. * **S7/S7+**: VibraRise mop is cool, but suction weaker than L10s Pro. * **S8/S8+**: Stronger than L10s Pro but likely more expensive in Armenia. If prices are close, **Roborock has slightly more refined software**, but **Dreame gives you more raw performance per dollar**. **Suggestion:** If the L10s Pro is affordable locally and you don’t need the auto-empty base, it’s probably the best choice right now. If Roborock S8 or Q Revo is somehow similarly priced, then it’s worth a second look. Happy to compare model vs. model if you let me know which Roborocks you’re eyeing!
Thanks for the extra details — that helps a ton. You're right to focus on mopping performance, especially if you don’t have carpets. In that case, *rotating mops* (like on the L10s Pro) usually outperform the VibraRise vibration pads on the S8/S8 Pro when it comes to actual scrubbing power on hard floors. The Dreame setup is more aggressive and consistent for stuck-on grime. Quick breakdown now that I know: ✅ **Dreame L10s Pro** * Rotating mop pads = better for homes with mostly hard floors * Suction is excellent (basically tied with S8) * Great overall hardware for the price * Main limitation: no auto-empty base, but you already accepted that tradeoff ✅ **Roborock S8 / S8 Pro** * Strong suction and dual brush system * Vibration mop is solid, but less effective than Dreame’s rotation in most daily use * Cleaner UI, smarter map features * S8 Pro adds auto mop lifting, which is helpful *only* if you had carpets (you don’t) ✅ **Q8 Max+** * A little newer than S8, cheaper, and adds some S8-level features (like dual brushes) * No rotating or vibrating mop * You’d downgrade mopping if you switched 🎯 **Bottom Line:** You made a solid pick with the L10s Pro *for your use case* — no carpets, hard floors, care about mop quality, and don’t need the base. Suction is more or less tied across these models, but Dreame gives you better scrubbing where it counts. If you’re still tempted by the S8 Pro, ask yourself: Would you pay extra *just* for map interface, firmware polish, and base compatibility? If not, stick with the L10s Pro and don’t look back. You got the right tool for the job.

I got the Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2 for 230 and I think it's great
Wow, what a detailed comparison! Since you're the dream guru, do you happen to know if the app is the same for the L10sPro Gen 2 and the D9 Mac Gen 2? I ask because I recently got the L10sPro Gen 2, and I really love the app—it has some awesome features. However, I'm not too impressed with the mopping; it leaves round streaks. I'm considering switching to the D9 Mac Gen 2 since it has one big mop pad, but I don't want to lose the app's features. Thanks in advance!
Good to know it would be a downgrade. I did have a Bobsweep pet slam with static mop pad and it cleaned amazing well (until the machine died) but i do like the L10s' ability to switch to vacuum when it encounters a door mat. From your comparison sheet, i looks like the D9 does not have as good object detection. I'll try your suggestions.
using the low water option helped a bit. can still see swirl pattern. i'm going to get another set of pads (i was handwashing the one set i have) hope that will help.
I really like my dreame L10s pro gen 2 … it is the upgraded dreame model (stronger than their ultra model with a base) with rotating disk mop pads, but it comes with no base. This does mean - cons: - that you have to manually wash mop pads - I bought a few extras - you have to refill the water tank/empty dust bin more often (I’ll pause a mop cleaning to rinse pads between big rooms) but pros: - under $350cad at my time of purchase - much smaller square footage / no ugly base in my tiny apartment, and less plastic waste in the event the tech craps out - no deep cleaning or maintenance needed for a base … personally for me, regular maintenance and attention to machine while it is going is easier than remembering to deep clean a base filled with water and chemicals and weeks-old grime. Plus it keeps the mop head wetter/cleaner/more efficient during sessions when I do it myself vs machine kinda rinsing it every so often. This might be the exact opposite of what other people need, but idk. the fancy ones were also just straight-up outta my price range so it was the biggest factor for me ultimately, but I have no regrets. would choose this version again even if I had the funds in future (until the primo versions that connect to water pipes and have self-emptying bases and a rolling mop bar.. like the SwitchBot… become the norm and more wallet-friendly, maybe) God I sound like a walking ad (dreame plz pay me) but it’s been a game changer sooooo…
Thank you! I eventually ordered a Dreame l10s Pro, but I have some doubts, particularly after seeing videos like this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebDiGqY5MM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebDiGqY5MM) It's also an Ultra version of Dreame so not entirely accurate for my case. But I think that suction power is more or less the same for l10s Pro and S8. Not sure if it's accurate. Actually Roborock S8 and even S8 Pro would have comparable price in Armenia, and I could stretch a little bit and order Q8 Max+. But I thought that rotating mops would be somewhat better in most situations. Also, I don't have carpets.
From my experience. Roborock Q8 very good for the price, S7 Maxv little better than S8, both great, Dreame L10S Pro as great. The newer more expensive stuff is even little better like X40 Ultra, but it has the docks.. Electrolux i9.2 had suprisingly good obstacle avoidance, could even avoid small cables, but god did that robot suck in anything else.
My Dreame L10s Pro lasted 16 months. The pipes got clogged very often and finally the pump broke.
Dreame’s L10S Pro Ultra Gen 2 can use the antitangle TriCut brush. It has worked perfectly for my long haired corgi that sheds so much. A small amount of fur will collect on the sides of brushes if you don’t use the correct brush cover which prevents this from happening. For the QRevo S, the all rubber brush works well at resisting tangles with fur collecting on the sides but as soon as there’s a cut on the rubber, it’ll easily tangle (same for Dreame’s all rubber brush). I think both robots have an easy to clean completely removable mop pad cleaning tray. https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/s/AgXP4k48pP There’s also the L40 Ultra at 399 in the US but not in Amazon.
I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.
I have not used my vaccum since I bought my l10S gen2 a month ago. So far it seems it does an exceptionally god job
We have dogs and cats and very dirty floors daily. We have a dream l10gen2 and it’s great. It can vacuum and mop. Auto empty and soap dispenser. App controls and easy to edit program. It’s it perfect? No, but it runs everyday(something I would not) It does 90% of the work and it does it really well. You can start cleaning and then go and do something else. It is a relief. No robot vacuum is gonna get around deep corners 100% and we still vacuum and mop manually but not as much.
