"I’m fucking amazed at how well it works. ... We have two dogs and three cats and my wife back moved, prior to buy a mess, daily as well as mopped a couple to few times a week. We wake up every morning with gorgeous clean floors. ... I just bought a L 10 second generation and I’m blown away."

"Dreame l10s ultra; don’t go for Roborock unless you don’t care about obstacle avoidance. ... My Q Revo Máster ran over MASSIVE piles of dog poop twice… L40 can avoid almost anything."

"My Dreame L10S Ultra has only ever eaten black USB cords on dark carpets, which I think is reasonable as the only obstacle to cause it struggles."

"I would go with the L10s Ultra if you need obstacle avoidance, as it's significantly better than Qrevo S. ... has better obstacle avoidance."

"The L10S Ultra has got to be the value champion especially at the $320 refurb with 2 year warranty."

"It is supported by Valetudo. ... Moreover, and it was very important for me, it has its debug port exposed so it is fairly easy to connect the vacuum to a PC for Valetudo flashing. ... It does not require disassembling the whole vacuum and all warranty seals stay intact. ... Valetudo was really important for me because today's robots are rolling survivalence cameras and there are many articles about camera footage leaking on the internet captured by these robots. I wasn't comfortable letting a camera rolling around the house like that. I have an Iot VPN but I cannot use that for these vacuums with factory firmware because then the app just won't work no matter which wifi my phone uses. The apps always phone home instead of using LAN. Except Valetudo. It can work like that."

"Flashed it with Valetudo so it has 0 cloud communication and I absolutely love it."

"I did this with the Dreame L10s Ultra. It was easy enough you just need to build or buy the PCB Dreame breakout board (instructions on the Valetudo site or get someone in the Telegram support site to send you theirs). Works great with HA, and all local."

They took a good 10-11 days to return the machine. ... we finally started using it 1 month after purchase. ... Although the initial service made us question the ROI"

The roborock pathing also seems more intelligent and would simply maneuver around the obstacle rather than having to look back three to four times to make sure it avoided the object(L10s U) ... Bang for buck - mova p10 ultra Money is no object/I want the best - roborock Sara's 10r or dreame x50 ultra Budget/cheapest option changes alot based on sales. Just the other week I bought a refurbished L10s ultra for $240 Honorable mention - the new eufy e28 can be had for $800. I think its worth considering because the roller mop system they have going seems to do really good for mopping in general.

It was fine but I returned it for 2 reasons 1) not great in corners (as expected) 2) if I forgot to pick up a wire, this thing was gonna send me an alert while I was at work telling me " mop pad came off" The L40 was on sale this week so I upgraded.

Nooooo that's the basic L10 Ultra without the "s" or the Gen 2. That would have the same horrible obstacle avoidance as the T20, and it also doesn't have mop extend for edge cleaning. Not sure how the vacuuming power compares in real world, but on paper the L10 Ultra is slightly worse than the T20. The L10 Ultra will have an onboard tank, but again the T20 features hot water mop washing. I think the L10 Ultra would be a better choice if you need to mop a large area.

I got a Dreametech a couple of weeks ago to help keep up with two GSDs and a toddler, and I have to say it has exceeded expectations! This is the one I got, and it was on a much better sale for Father’s Day. Prime Days are coming up soon so you should be able to score a pretty good deal on one then (whatever model you go with!) https://ca.dreametech.com/products/dreamebot-l10s-ultra?variant=45828562845953&country=CA¤cy=CAD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=5&gad_campaignid=22457582297&gclid=CjwKCAjwsZPDBhBWEiwADuO6y_kUZxe7XvPlf7crWvd5am4QdenkFk-UTxwRDmAhRnbxLUaKCZwmoBoC3ZYQAvD_BwE

Ecovacs is better, I guess. I heard it's good and reliable. After-sales won't be great with most of these brands. It's all about luck. And coming to the products, I bought Dreame - L10s Ultra in the last sale at a good discount, and it's doing well as of now.

You mentioned ECOVACS DEEBOT N30 Pro, right? it does have a water tank, na?. Mine was Just Ultra, not pro Ultra. The main difference between Ecovacs - Deebot N30 pro and Ultra is the Zero Tangle Brush and corner mopping, where the mop moves at corners. If you do mopping daily, then yes, the water tank is worth it. I've been using it for a week or so; so far it's good.

Getba Dreame in that price range. They are perfectly fine, don't overpay for latest and fanciest features. Simple vac and mop for 500 € is doing the trick. E.g. Ls 10 Ultra

I wouldn’t touch either with a 30 foot pole tbh. Especially when for $330 I can get a [Dreame L10s](https://a.co/d/c16pxh5) which preforms substantially better and has a full featured base from a very reputable company. I would also suggest waiting until closer to Black Friday as deals are starting to show up. If it needs to be under $300 I would strongly suggest pushing you towards the [Roborock Q7 M5+](https://a.co/d/asFfiQa). Just like Dreame they’re a super reputable brand with a substantially better future outlook compared to either bObsweep (never heard of them) or iRobot (facing bankruptcy from years of refusing to innovate) Edit: [L10s review](https://youtu.be/k6VoDNIow48?si=N8efR571_iAEnyBs), [Q7 M5+ review](https://youtu.be/vJrQ91fYapU?si=He-nGzuXFCJ_-K4k) Since you’ve never bought a robot vacuum before, there are a few key things to know. LIDAR navigation and a full-featured base are essential for a true hands-free cleaning experience. I don’t fully trust those brands. Roborock and Dreame, on the other hand, are reputable, reliable, and have good/great customer support, Roborock especially in my personal experience. For a first-time buyer, the $300–$400 range is the sweet spot; it’s a solid entry point with quality performance and a 30-day Amazon return window if it’s not for you. In general, with robot vacuums, you get what you pay for. Higher -end models perform far better.

I went with Dreame L10s Ultra. It had decent (but not the best) results on vacuumwars, for its price it was good tho. It is supported by Valetudo. Moreover, and it was very important for me, it has its debug port exposed so it is fairly easy to connect the vacuum to a PC for Valetudo flashing. It does not require disassembling the whole vacuum and all warranty seals stay intact. A custom made PCB is required for the easy flashing to work tho but the components were super cheap and I was comfortable with soldering the PCB. It can work like that.

A little non-existent, but hit the Bissell crosswave hydro steam does exist. And being Bissell, reputable, it's the only floor washer vacuum I'd buy. If your messes are mostly dry with minor splashes and puddles then I think a robot would be the best for hands offness while maintaining general cleanliness but you'd need to do deeper cleans every month or something. The $300 price point is a little difficult tho because that robot is great (Dreame l10s ultra) but there are quite a few tradeoffs that make it worse than the absolute value winner the Mova p10 ultra (for $500). If you already have a vacuum/mop that you like then I think a robot for multi daily sweeping and mopping is the best option. Mine sweeps 3 times a day and mops daily. While doing a deep mopping twice a week. I also ask it to clean my kitchen when I'm almost done cooking (like when something's on the final simmer). Between scheduling the robot around meal/bathtime and asking it to do specific routines, these robot vac mops are pretty amazing. Only get one of the xiaomi family of brands (roborock, dreame, Mova).

3" fibers but a little flat. All my robots this far have gotten bogged down on it. Roborock qrevo and dreame l10s at least made it off 🤷🏾‍♂️ I think the adaptilift robots may work for it.

Yeah with people making retail purchases like a robot vacuum, I would advise buying 2, trialing them, and returning one. It's a huge purchase so it should be perfect 🤷🏾‍♂️ If they have the credit/capital to do that ofc. I did that for the original q revo vs my dreame l10s. I didn't think the roborock commanded that $100 price difference at the time (for me).

I have an elderly cat and the worst case scenario is usually small bits of poop. Which ice cleaned off my robot a few times which isn't the worst... But if it's regular puddles I wouldn't. I have a dreame l10s which has a camera without a fill light and the object avoidance is pretty bad/mid. Apparently the newest robots are better especially with identifying puddles? So maybe? But be prepared to clean them lmao. Good news is they're very easy to clean/disassemble and deep clean.

So I've completely disassembled a few different brands of robot vacuums. Not all of the newest ones especially, but some of the newest, especially my dreame l10s. Dreames and roborocks are really well built imo. A lot of easy screws and the various modules have their connectors built in. They also tend to have their exterior most parts free of major electronics should they need to be stripped and washed. I've put my robovac parts through the dishwasher (make sure yours doesn't have exposed heaters). Plastic shell pieces, dust bin, and filter. Vacuum out the bin/filter/machine first 🙏🏾 I assume the movas are the same. The three are within the xiaomi family of brands so I assume the third is built like the other two. Ecovacs are a lil nightmare to take apart bc their wires are unruly. And you can't even strip the bottom plate or suction area easily to clean or replace. It's doable but only if necessary. I've done some older eufys which seemed good so 🤷🏾‍♂️ Roborocks and dreame, being the most popular seem to have the best part availability as well. Roborock used to have a huge warranty on their s8maxv (5yrs) but reduced it now to 1 on everything I think. The movas have a 3 year warranty which is cool. Refurbished units from eBay, direct from roborock and dreame also come with 2 year warranties (mostly). I guess because poop etc gets smeared into the brushroll chamber mostly, if it's a small enough volume, being able to replace that more easily is nice lol. I haven't had to remove it from the brushroll motor to wash it but maybe that's possible. These machines are dense with electronics and wires but are built well imo so if you're willing to take care of and maybe even go a little diy they'll definitely last 5 yrs. My roborock s5 still works, and now that's 4th hand (I was the 3rd hand lol). I'd only buy them from the xiaomi family, roborock especially if I had the disposable money. I have a long haired rug I'd like to see it clean 🤩🤩 There are roborocks at basically every price point, dreame at the lowest, but the dreames have more features at comparable prices, mostly. Roborocks app is much nicer and I've found their machines are much quieter. They also tend to just do everything better lol. The roborock master is at crazy low prices rn (new & eBay refurb) and it has their obstacle avoidance that should detect puddles. It sounds like you really need obstacle detection so the cheapest I'd go is the mova p10. It apparently has the same sensors as the p50 (which reacts to puddles). And it's a little more expensive than the cheapest (mine) or the in between, glam version of mine: the l10s PRO ultra. The robot names are becoming a bit much but there is some reason to them...

The [dreame L10s](https://amzn.to/3WUjIAL) At home, my family bought this last month for Christmas, so far it's been doing a great job keeping the hardwood floors and the carpets pretty cleam, and it's also super quiet, making it very friendly for homes with small children, so it can do its job without disturbing the environment. You should take a look, it may surprises you, I think there's an offer right now.

The reactive tech in a lot of Roborock's budget models is usually awful, since it lacks an RGB camera. The Qrevo series, which has a similar obstacle avoidance system, consistently scored around 3/10 in our testing between 3 models. The cheapest vacuum with great obstacle avoidance among the ones I've tested is the Dreame L10s Ultra (8.2/10). I see it on Amazon Australia for $599. It's a fully featured flagship from 2022, so the dock has auto empty and mop washing. I wouldn't be able to confirm which one is better in terms of pickup performance, as I have not tested the Q10V+. The L10s Ultra does well on hard floor, but it can struggle on carpet. If you have carpet, I'd recommend getting the tricut brush from Dreame to help agitate the debris out. Dreame sells it for $199Au, but here in Canada it's like 70$ regular price (and our dollar is weaker), so I would only get it as a last resort or on sale. Hope this helps!

I was the tester that did our review of the Eufy S1 Pro, and while it didn't do the best on carpet, it'll still get the job done if you only have hard floors. I know the amount of choice and difference in reviewer's opinions/results can be overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be a super stressful decision. The reality is that robot vacuums are really just meant for day to day maintenance, which a lot of them are good at. When I recommend to friends and family, I usually try and find the best deal at the time of them asking, while avoiding a few specific robots. My most recommended robot to people I know is the Dreame L10s Ultra, just because there's always flash sales where's it at a ridiculously low price that it's a no-brainer, even though it's not our best scoring. Our tests are designed to push robots to their limits with a large amount of debris in a small space. For performance, I'd look more into what debris types the robot struggles with and if that applies to you. For example, the Dreame X50 struggled with finer debris, and I've seen a few people complain about that on this subreddit. If you want, you can let me know your specific needs outside of obstacle avoidance (floor types, ideal budget, app features, etc) and I can find a robot vacuum that I think would be best suited for you! No pressure tho, and my recommendation will not be dependent on you going to our website and clicking an affiliate link. Hope this helps!

I've tested all three of these, and I would either go with the Qrevo S or the L10s Ultra. I had a lot of issues with pickup, navigation, and the app for the X10 pro omni, and it's not a model I would recommend. Here's a breakdown of the two models I would suggest: https://preview.redd.it/hmw7skr7dekf1.png?width=1803&format=png&auto=webp&s=4a3f18d2c5238ae78e210387dc1bfc8643385b17 I would go with the L10s Ultra if you need obstacle avoidance, as it's significantly better than Qrevo S. The Qrevo S does slightly better on hard floor and low-pile, and has better battery life and is quieter. If you get the L10s Ultra from Dreame's website you can also get it for 419$, or 377$ if you sign up for their mailing list. There's also a deal on the L10s Pro Ultra Heat, which is the same robot but with a dock that has hot water mop washing, and comes with an accessory kit for free (499$ or 459$ if you sign up for the mailing list). The Dreame is the better value overall, depending on how much you found the Qrevo S for. Also for transparency, if you go to our website for more info there will be affiliate links, so if you want to avoid those then you can ask me follow-up questions here, and I'll provide you more info. Hope this helps!

Hey all! I'd like to formally introduce myself. My name is Justin, and I'm a Robot Vacuum tester at RTINGS. I've tested 30+ robot vacuums since my career started here, and have learned so much from research, testing, and this Subreddit specifically. Some of you might have seen me on here making some personal recommendations in some of the posts in this Subreddit, but Prime Day is a great time to provide some insight on making a decision, since the market is currently overwhelming. **These recommendations are based on products we've bought and tested ourselves**, since we do not accept review or sample units from manufacturers. **I also wanted to disclose that we do make money from affiliate links and ads on our website**, so I will not be providing any links to our reviews. **First step** is to not panic. Figure out the needs of your space, your expectations, and your budget. Write them down and try to narrow it down to maximum 2-3 options. **General expectations** for all robots based on what I've seen and my personal opinion/experience: * **They will not replace your regular vacuum and mop for deep cleaning**, but they will extend the time between your deep cleanings. * **Obstacle avoidance is not that big of a deal if you don't have kids or pets.** Tidy up loose objects on the floor, tuck away cables, and set no-go zones, and you'll usually be good to go. * **You likely don't need to run it everywhere, every day.** Consider your needs and strategize. Use manual configurations, schedules, and spot cleanings over the built-in AI systems to tailor it to your needs. * **They usually always get hair stuck somewhere, especially long hair.** I have yet to meet a robot that has not gotten hair stuck with our standard 2.5g of long hair. That being said, some are better at it than others. * **The maintenance for the mops/water tanks is very frequent**, but saves more time overall. The general maintenance is usually quick overall, though. * **Recurring costs are generally higher and more frequent than regular vacuums.** You can try third party options for brush rollers, but we usually don't test that. * **Even premium models usually have seal problems** **and do not filter as well as standard vacuums with better HEPA/S-Class Filters.** If you have allergies, most of the robots will shoot allergens back up into the air. Consider an air purifier if you really want one. (The Levoit Vital 200s is great and on sale too) * **Advertised suction is usually not helpful or representative of pickup performance**. The Roborock S7 Max V is a great example of a robot with low advertised suction (5100 Pa) that still remains competitive in hard floor pickup performance to this day. * **Be vigilant of defects, especially on new models.** Brands are pumping out models faster than we can think. In my opinions, there are bound to be quality issues. If you see something wrong, exchange it or go with an older model that has proven reliability. * **Sales will come back. Often. Black friday is right around the corner.** Don't impulse buy just cause of a big sales event. **Dreame L10s Ultra/Pro Ultra ($299 USD/$479 CAD - $399USD/$499CAD) - Best Introduction Robot for Small Spaces** with mostly hard floor. * Decent hard floor performance, fully featured dock, great obstacle avoidance, decent mopping, upgradeable for carpets with the Tri-Cut Brush. * Mid battery-life, cold water and cold air drying (pro version adds heat), have seen complaints of poor customer service from Dreame. Uncertain about long term reliability. * At this price, you really can't go wrong if you just want something to help with day to day cleaning. **Roborock Qrevo Series ($399 USD/$549 CAD)** \- **Best Budget for hard floors** * Great hard floor pickup and navigation. Mid-on carpets. Bad at removing pet hair from carpets. * Awful obstacle avoidance. Decent Mopping * Roborock seems to have a better reputation for reliability. (Based on comments in this Subreddit) **Roborock S8 Max V ($1099USD/$1199CAD)** \- **Best For Carpet and Pet Hair** * Good all around pickup, excels on carpet thanks to its dual rollers. Corner coverage. * Expect hair tangles in the edges of the brush rollers. * Mid mopping performance, so you might have to manually clean hard stains. * Decent Obstacle avoidance, but not the best. * Older flagship. **Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni** (**$799 USD/ $1199CAD) - Best Mopping** (Not published yet on our website, but we've tested it) * Great hard floor pickup, decent carpet pickup. Okay, at removing pet hair from carpets. * Okay obstacle avoidance on hard floor, bad on carpet. * Excellent mopping. * Unsure of Ecovacs reliability and app experience, as I've seen complaints on this Subreddit before. * Currently borrowing this model, and I'm really impressed with it. I have not experienced any dock leaking, but this is something that I've seen brought up for other roller mop models. **Roborock Saros 10R ($1199USD) - Best overall for most people** * Excellent hard floor cleaning. Decent carpet cleaning. Struggles with pet hair on carpet. Good for mopping. * Excellent hard floor obstacle avoidance, bad carpet obstacle avoidance. * Excellent maneuverability. Slim body allows it to get underneath furniture as low as 3.1" (8 cm). Can also climb thresholds up to 1.5" (3.8cm) in our tests. * Not available in Canada. **Popular Models I'd avoid, but doesn't mean they wouldn't be the best option for you:** * **Dreame X50 Ultra:** It's dual rollers struggle with hard floor pickup more than the dual rollers on the S8 Max V. I also borrowed it for a month to test it in my home, and it would leave clumps of debris everywhere, especially near thresholds. This is based on our testing and my subjective opinion, but it was a miss for me. * **Dreame L40 Ultra:** Controversial, I know, but I was also underwhelmed with its hard floor pickup performance, especially with finer debris. It's decent for carpet, though, and might perform better with the Tri-cut brush. It also scored worse in obstacle avoidance than the Dreame L10s Ultra, which is bizarre since it released 2 years after it. This is another model I borrowed, and was not satisfied with it's cleaning performance in my mostly hard floor apartment. * **Eufy x10 Pro Omni:** It was one of the vacuums I had the most trouble testing due to navigation issues and app issues. Its pickup performance was also pretty poor on carpet, and just okay on hard floor. * **Dyson VisNav 360:** Great potential, but flawed execution and use of old tech make it a bad purchase in my opinion. This thing packed a punch and was excellent at picking up stuff it went over, but the problem was it would frequently miss areas and get lost/confused. * **Shark robot vacuums:** Some of them are good for pickup, but their built quality, navigation issues, and bare-bones app makes question their value. Honorable mentions: * **MOVA P10 Pro:** Best obstacle avoidance in our test out of every single model. Good hard floor pickup, mid carpet pickup, okay mopping. Comments in this Subreddit have mentioned MOVA's manufacturing quality and customer service are question. We had to return our first unit because the dock was non-functional, but the second unit works well. Let me know if you have any questions about my recommendations, and hope this helps out! Edit: I will only be responding while I'm at work, so expect a delay of 24hr for a response. Also added 2 expectations.

The Dreame L10s Ultra is a safe bet in that price range, the pro version adds heated water cleaning and hot air drying which can lower the risk of a smelly mop. You can also upgrade it with the Tri-Cut brush, which claims to cut hair. Thankfully, the rubber brush is fairly easy to clean and takes no more than 2-3 minutes. Edit: I forgot to mention that it's a bit loud. Newer models have better sound management, if sound level is a concern, go with the Qrevo Series.

I'd say maybe look into the Qrevo Slim. I haven't tested it, but the dual rollers will be really helpful with pet hair on rugs, and it should perform similarly to the S8 Max V. For something cheaper, maybe the Mova P10 Pro or the Dreame L10s, and upgrade it with the tri-cut brush. (Keeping in mind that MOVA has had some quality complaints.)
