"significantly worse object avoidance than than the Dreame x40 and L40 ... The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."

"The obstacle avoidance is also very good and I only have the pet in house setting on for pet messes and it recognizes my fake dog poop all the time and drive around it."

"The unit was an upgrade from a Roomba S9. That unit did a good job of vacuuming but was very prone to having problems with obstacles. For example, it would launch itself up onto the circular rod -like bases of several of my chairs and become stuck there. They Roborock 10R correctly recognized all of the bases as something to avoid. Some of them get labeled as chair bases and others simply as wires. It has avoided every obstacle."

"I have also had 0 hair wrap. Both my old Roomba and Shark id have to clean the rollers weekly."

"The Anti-Tangle brush is actually Anti-Tangle. All my previous vacuums would get hair tangled in a single run - I'd clean them at least once a week (neato way more) to get all the hair out. After 24 hours, I see 0 hair stuck. Not one. ... That being said I LOVE the anti-tangle brush. 3 Months and I haven't had to clean the brush one time. It's literally perfect for me."

"I haven’t had any issues with tangles on the rollers ... Honestly, I think it’s doing really well considering I have long hair and shed a lot. ... The split roller on the E28 really works."

"I absolutely do not regret buying the robot vacuum. ... My room is a lot cleaner and dust-free now, and I can tell just by wiping my floor with a wet toilet paper and seeing barely anything picked up. ... I've been getting allergens a ton less, most of which not even in my room. ... All this for the commitment of a weekly emptying is miles more convenient than vacuuming traditionally, as opposed to making a few taps on my phone. ... looking back it was definitely worth the investment."

"I also have two giant long haired (nonshedding excessively) cats. I shed hair a LOT. Worse than the cats. It works so well."

"I found that it was even able to get up caked on Kitty vomit if I simply sprayed those areas with cleaning vinegar beforehand. ... I was pleasantly surprised."

"This is a very hands off robot as it cleans the filter, the mops, and the base station for you. ... It’ll dry the dustbin, dustbag, and mops to prevent mildew from growing."

"I've had mine for 2.5 months and almost used daily, noone of it has happened to me, to me the unit seems like a rock solid design hardware wise, and the unit doesn't look remotely used. ... No clogs, no hair strands stuck, didn't need to clean the pads or the vacuum at all, looks brand new even after daily use."

"clean/dirty water tank ... washes mop with hot water ... dries it ... auto dispensers detergent"

"Crazy good from the jump! ... When you factor in they're only $99 and go toe-to-toe with Bose QC Ultra at $299, this is the deal of the year!"

"Can't recommend them enough for the value, sound like $200 earphones."

"Artti T10 is best buy if we take prices into consideration ... T10 are crazy value, they're at least 95% as good as S08 and cost quite a bit less ... T10 is so good value that price to performance ratio with them is better than any cheaper IEM, not just the more expensive ones"

"Be able to go over bath mats/water absorbent mats well. When my robot goes over it, it constantly lifts the edge up and makes it look like it’s trying to hump the bottom side of the carpet. This doesn’t happen if I meticulously use the remote control function."

"the robot has no obstacle avoidance ... In terms of obstacles, that‘s pretty much the main reason why I added the 10R to my other floor where my cat and his toys are, it has great obstacle avoidance."

"The Saros also managed to get itself stuck under one of our sofas and got scratched in the process (the back of the sofa has a higher opening, it tried to exit through the sides which are lower than 8 cm)."

"It's just very bad performance when it comes to vacuuming. ... This has been the same performance since day 1 with original brush also. ... It seems the suction is not as close to the floor as it should be. ... My budget eufy L60 can pick up this debris with no issue on deeper carpet. ... This is the most basic requirement of any vacuum."

"The bigger issue is that the paths are not as tight and overlapping. ... When I look at the cleaning paths with the MOVA On the tightest setting with the max number of passes (x3) It has nowhere near the coverage of the qrevos and the carpet is not clean. ... The Revos get really tight around legs while the MOVA barely tries to approach. ... Both my Qrevos are much quieter than the p10 ultra and actually leave the carpets looking clean."

"Hair Pickup on carpet is better than the S7 MaxV but still worse than the Neato D7. ... I confirmed this by running the S7 Max V first (with rubber brush), on my upstairs carpeted room - that I purposely haven't vacuumed in a week. S7 Max V barely got anything and had some wrapped around the edges - as it does. ... For me yes but I say that mostly because of the tangle free vacuuming of pet hair and the improved hair pickup on carpets. I was tired of cleaning out the old one and so far with this I have zero tangles. ... The S7 MaxV had the worst hair pickup on carpets, with the stock rubber brush, of all the bots I ever owned. Tangles were minimal but it didn't do well taking hair off the carpets (it did great on the hardwood/tile though). Swapping out the rubber to the bristle brush improved the pickup but increased the tangle problem - it also created a problem with auto-empty for me a few times. ... It mops/vacuums significantly better than my S7 MaxV. Especially on carpets (especially especially pulling dog hair off carpets). ... That being said I LOVE the anti-tangle brush. 3 Months and I haven't had to clean the brush one time. It's literally perfect for me."

"For the L40 ultra, I also had the issue where it had very poor hard floor performance even with the tricut brush. ... Turned out that the roller wasn’t touching the floor so debris would not be picked up and was defective."

"My 2000pa wyze robot vacuum has much better hard floor pickup performance than my 12000pa Dreame x40."

"Vacuum performance is somehow worse than my old vacuum (with both tri-cut and standard brushes) ... it just randomly leaves debris on the floor so sometimes it seems like a room wasn't cleaned at all."

"After just 500 sqm of cleaning, I’ve been waiting for over a month now for it to be returned, and I still don’t know if they’ll fix the mop attachment issue."

"it is quite unreliable. Mine broke after only 2 weeks of use(one of the mops started grinding)"

"it refused to drop and re-attach the mop pads ... I've tried a few times but it didn't work, so I just disabled mops dropping."

"always leaving water on the bottom of the base station. ... Gross water that I'm sure would start smelling over time."

"When trying to wash the dock station using the app - it refused to pour any water ... fixed with a syringe like described [here]"

"the base gets very dirty and white plastic stains as it doesn’t manage to pull all the mop dirt into the dirty water tank."

The L40 ultra AE doesn’t have an extending side brush, only an extending mop, and it is quite unreliable. Mine broke after only 2 weeks of use(one of the mops started grinding). Why dont you take a look at the L50 ultra? It has both extending arm and mop, but doesn’t have a retractable lidar(if you have lower hanging furniture).

I did a deep dive into the Dreame after I saw this. My only issue with it is the lack of the extendable sweeping arm. But it seems the L40s AE has a ton more positives to make up for it I think. Plus a 3 year standard warranty! That's big for me considering I had planned on buying the extended for the roborock.

The Dreame L40 Ultra AE will be the best priced option that fulfills everything. For the cable, the obstacle avoidance will recognize it as a cable and avoid it instead of crossing it so cover it with something.

The only possible con I can think compared to the L40 Ultra is that the sensor array is the older one.

A much better CleanGenius please with the ability for it to remop/revacuum areas more if needed. Better carpet cleaning, imagine if a dreame robot could vacuum carpets just as well as the robot by another D-name brand (Dyson) and be able to mop (either with the new hydrosync track type roller mop or just spinning mops). Variable mop pressure and that could work with CleanGenius depending on the types of flooring and if it’s facing dried on stains or liquid messes. Better battery life especially when just cleaning at the normal settings. I hope the Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn’t have the same issue as the X50 Ultra especially since it has an onboard water heater. I love the cute eyes on the Aqua 10 Pro Track and especially the station’s design! Would be awesome if it could somewhat blend into my furniture like iRobot’s J9+’s base station which looks like a small bedside stand. Pets like to sleep everywhere, would be nice if the clean missed areas function was automated if it detects a pet is blocking the way/area (user should have the choice to choose if this is the case).

I just lost the draft of the comment I was writing on here TvT The brands best at obstacle avoidance are dreame eufy and Narwal. Recommendations come from cheapest to highest Narwal Freo Z ultra at €549 Best for smoothest obstacle avoidance, great at preventing hair and fur tangles, best smart cleaning mode, easy to clean, and great mopping Not so Great at: vacuuming (compared to other robots), water tanks need to be refilled frequently so it is better suited for smaller homes Why so cheap? It already has a successor and the new flagship the Narwal Flow is going to be released. No eufy models that are close to obstacle avoidance at this price range so no eufy recommendation. Dreame L40 Ultra AE €671 Good at: obstacle avoidance (firmware updates help) but not as smooth since it only has one eye instead of two like Narwal do it needs to go backwards to gauge the distance to something, more rounded vacuuming (better than the Narwal) and mopping performance. Not so good at: not many like the smart cleaning mode, not as easy to clean as you’d need to get down to maintain it. Slightly pared down L40 Ultra

The problem with generative AI, even with the research function, is that the information is woefully outdated and often hallucinates things that don't exist. You want these features: >Good object avoidance (chairs, socks, cables, etc.) But the models the generative AI seems to have found for you will not do well in avoiding cables and socks. This is because they all only use structured light sensors, which are not well-suited for this. Only robots with an RGB camera, an LED fill light, and good obstacle avoidance software. If you tidy those up, then the MOVA P50 Ultra at 549 euros ( [https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum](https://de.mova.tech/products/mova-p50-ultra-robot-vacuum) ) is a good choice. Actual obstacle avoidance comes with a higher price tag in more expensive models like the Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros (German Dreame website). >**Goal**: **Maximum automation** – no daily involvement (vacuuming, mopping, cleaning the mop, drying, edge cleaning) Robot at this price range will need more attention than those with better self cleaning features, such as tapping the dust out of the filter out once every few cleaning runs (recommended to do once after every cleaning run when first using it) rinsing the dustbin and filter and wiping the robot clean once every two weeks or so, refilling and emptying the dirty water tanks, cleaning the mop washboard as needed. The Dreame L40 Ultra AE at 609 euros will have some sort of mop washboard self-cleaning, but it is rather annoying to clean with too many nooks and crannies for my liking, and the wipers like to drag hair around the washboard. If you tidy the cables and socks up, the MOVA P50 Ultra will have the best self-cleaning mop washboard since there are barely any nooks and crannies, and you can get the robot to clean its own washboard by pressing a button in the app. You'd still need to tap the dust out of the filter after every few cleaning runs, occasionally wipe the washboard down and the area under the filter, and rinse the palm-sized removable filter, which stops hair and large debris from entering. If you want the robot to clean its filter when auto-emptying, the Dreame L40s Pro Ultra is the cheapest model I've found that can do this. But it's at 769 ( [https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter](https://de.dreametech.com/products/dreame-l40s-pro-ultra-schwarz-saugroboter) ) Maintenance tips: 1. Run the robot to vacuum first, then mop to mitigate difficult-to-clean mud buildup in the dustbin, filter, and brush compartment. It'll have less gross stuff in the brush compartment when you clean it. 2. The dirty water tank can stink, but the Dreame or Roborock dirty water deodorization module helps a lot in keeping the tank from smelling in between emptying. Do rinse and clean the dirty water tank with dish soap once every two weeks or so. Do rinse the deodorization modules and the dirty water tank when emptying the dirty water tank. Dreame one supposedly lasts longer, at 6 months, and the roborock lasts about 3 months. I also added a silver ion module to both clean and dirty water tanks to avoid any bacterial biofilm buildup. 3. If getting a model that can't clean its own filter, I put in cut-out pieces of air conditioner pre-filter sheets that fit just on the filter, which barely impede airflow for the vacuum. This will act as a robot prefilter and you won't need to tap the dust out of the filter as often and simply throw away the prefilter sheet and replace it with a new one.

r/RobotVacuumsHelp Choosing a Robot Vacuum – DEEBOT X5 Pro vs T30 Omni & Best Value Options
12 months ago

There are much better robots you can buy at the same price or lower. There is the dreame x40 ultra for £1099 which will greatly outperform the deebot x5 pro. It has hot water mop cleaning, tangle free vacuuming with the TriCut brush, and good mopping. Dreame robots have the best edge cleaning out of all the brands. There is the dreame l40 ultra for £849, a much better deal as it is essentially the same as the Dreame x40 ultra except for battery life. Since you didn’t mention having a pet, I think the best value choice is the dreame L10s ultra Gen 2 (£549). Also tangle free vacuuming with the TriCut brush, strong all-around performance, but no hot water mop washing. Just take care of your cables and it’ll do well.

In the US, the Dreame L40 Ultra is 399 USD with an antitangle TriCut brush (very important for friends with heavily shedding pets) if ordered from the physical dreame store in-person and ordered via phone or email. This model is pretty popular along pet owners and great for homes with mostly hard floors.

The dreame L40 Ultra will be the most cost effective combo model (438.99 USD with freebies from the physical dreame store that does nationwide shipping) and the best at obstacle avoidance (ecovacs does terribly with obstacle avoidance even with an RGB camera). The roborock has no RGB camera and its ReactiveTech obstacle avoidance isn’t as good compared to its RGB camera enabled one (which doesn’t do well on carpets. For thick wool rugs, a robot vacuum may struggle with this.

r/RobotVacuumsEcovac T50 Pro (non-max) vs Dreame L40 Ultra
8 months ago

If in the US, the L40 Ultra is much cheaper at 399 USD (if ordering from the physical Dreame store) and the P50 Pro Ultra at 799 USD. The P50 Pro Ultra will have better base station self cleaning and better carpet cleaning. Here’s a comparative review of the two: https://youtu.be/LNJ6yK5c2Wc Both the dreame and MOVA will have better navigation and obstacle avoidance than the Ecovacs T50 Pro since the Ecovacs has no led fill light for avoiding things in the dark and the lidar’s field of vision is reduced from 360° for a lidar tower to about 120°. The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra will have the best base station self cleaning. Both the dreame and MOVA have a bigger onboard dustbin at 300ml over ecovacs’ 260ml which means less trips to the autoempty station, especially helpful for pet owners. The ecovacs is also unable to lift its side brush and main brush which means: if mopping up a wet spill it’ll smear liquid around and if just mopping in general the dirty brushes will eventually overlap with the mopping path and make mud in the brush compartment. A lot of other robots like the dreame and MOVA can lift the side brush and main brush which is recommended.

Dreame will have the best obstacle avoidance out of all of these three brands. Its subbrand MOVA sells the P10 Pro Ultra which is nearly identical to the L40 Ultra and discounts bring it to 499-599. The P50 Pro Ultra is like the L40 Ultra but with the X50’s better self cleaning mop tray.

r/RobotVacuumsRobovaccum + mop suggestion

A lot of flagship priced robot vacuums vacuum better than the Narwal Freo Z Ultra but the Narwal Freo Z Ultra seems to be king with the smart clean feature. A robot vacuum with flagship level cleaning (and a formerly flagship price) would be the dreame L40 Ultra for 399 USD if purchased from a physical dreame store which will ship across the US for free if you order via phone or email. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra should be similarly priced and is a good budget friendly favorite. If you want to support a local startup, try Matic robotics’ cute robot which I’d recommend if you want an all in one combo robot with a basic base station. It’s powered by the Nvidia Orin robotics chip so it theoretically is the smartest robot. Currently, it seems the robot is constantly being updated as soon as the software engineers there are aware of an issue. If you want good roller mopping right now and vacuuming carpets isn’t as much of a concern, I’d go for the eufy E25/28 (main difference other than a fabric cleaner is that the E28 has a refillable detergent tank) since it exerts 12N of mopping pressure and seems to mop rather well but vacuuming carpets is another story. The ecovacs X8/X9 only exerts 10N of pressure with the mop but the X9 will vacuum carpets better. More pressure is one of the factors that lead to better mopping.

I’d recommend robots with an autoempty station so most of the maintenance will be replacing the dustbag, tapping the dust out of the filter, and cleaning the robot once in a while. A lot of vacuum only robots with an autoempty base station will be fit in this budget! A popular choice is the Roborock Q5 Max+ or the Roborock Q8 Max+. Combo models will need more care ( you’d also have to refill the clean water tank, emptying the dirty water tank, cleaning the water tanks, and the mop pad cleaning tray). Some have completely removable mop pad cleaning trays which make it more physically accessible to clean. Some other ones don’t. For combo models, the recent sales and discounts have made the Dreame L40 Ultra (438.99*-599) or the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra (599) will be the best priced model given all the self cleaning features it has. I believe both models have a pet mode where it purposely tries to be quieter when it sees pets (dogs and cats alike). It’s cheapest to find the dreame L40 Ultra with the anti-tangle TriCut brush at the dreame physical store which accepts orders placed over phone or email. I recommend these models mainly because the mop pad cleaning tray has wipers that will redirect dirt to the drainage area, reducing the need to clean the area. Unfortunately, the mop pad cleaning tray isn’t completely removable (the base in contact with the water is not removable). Here’s a video on how the mop pad cleaning tray is cleaned. https://youtu.be/kSoxaozdtkU The roborock qrevo models have a completely removable mop tray which makes it easier to clean compared to the Dreame or roborock models. However, I haven’t found a roborock qrevo model at a price as low as the Dreame and MOVA models. The Qrevo QV 35A ($599.99) does have an anti-tangle side brush but no mop pad cleaning tray self cleaning and the lack of an RGB camera means the price isn’t as worth as the other models :( Here’s a video of how maintenance will look for the QRevo models: https://youtu.be/f0NzG5ANyEc Maintenance tips and tricks: For maintenance, please tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning tasks or whatever is most convenient for you guys. Mud will build up in the brush compartment of combo models if you set your robot to vacuum and mop at the same time, making cleaning the brush area more often. so I recommend asking it to vacuum first then mop so the need to clean the brush compartment will be less often. Combo robots require the base station’s mop pad cleaning tray to be cleaned once every two weeks or so (I suggest leaving it alone and finding the ideal frequency for you). In my use, squeegee based self-cleaning mop pad cleaning trays will mean fur catches on the wipers and the nubs which happens with most friction based cleaning methods. I use a pet safe robot mop compatible detergent in the clean water tank at a ratio of 1:100. Bissell’s spinwave compatible multisurface cleaner is my favorite. I also use a silver ion module in the clean water tank to prevent gross stuff from building up in it. I use a deodorization and disinfectant module in my dirty water tank to help with the smell (it should be emptied as soon as the robot finishes cleaning and cleaning its mops). You’ll have to scrub down this dirty water tank every once in a while too. I run my combo robot twice a day which means I have to refill and empty my tanks once every two days or so. No smell or anything.

In the US, the L40 Ultra is a good all around combo that had its price drop to 399 USD with the same performance as the Dreame X40 Ultra as well as its obstacle avoidance! I’d recommend running your robot twice a day. That’s what I do with my heavily shedding corgi.

r/RobotVacuumsWhich vacuum/mop to get for Father’s Day sale?

Out of the ones you mentioned, the L40 Ultra will be easiest to maintain with the QRevo models coming in after for their removable mopping tray. For the L40 Ultra, it can remove the mops when vacuuming the carpets. Other robots will drag the mops. For all of the models you mentioned, you’d need to buy vacuum bags for the autoempty station. Don’t worry though, the first bag will fill up fast from shedding pets but will plateau and it’ll slow down over time. It’s cheap to get from Temu/aliexpress from resellers who sell the real bags or the official mainland Chinese stores on taobao’s Tmall. Floor cleaner: roborock says using unauthorized cleaning agents will void warranty. Actually, just filling it in with a robot mop friendly cleaner that is ph neutral, low-foaming and the same thickness as water if put in the detergent tank will work just fine. I like the Bissell spinwave compatible natural multisurface cleaner which is pet safe. I add it in at a ratio for 1:30 for deep cleaning and 1:200, like the ratio the robot manufacturers recommend, for daily cleaning. Just say you used the official one when if you need to talk to customer service.

You don’t need a hair cutter to remove hair from the roller brush. The roborock q5 max+ or the Q8 max+ are popular vacuum only options. All rubber dual brushes help with fur pickup and are okay at resisting tangles but will have tangled fur and hair on the sides which are easily removable. For combo robots: It seems like you’re in the US so I’d recommend the Dreame L40 Ultra at 399 with the antitangle TriCut brush if purchased from Dreame’s physical store which ships for free nationwide https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/s/AgXP4k48pP

The Dreame L40 Ultra should also be priced similarly and will be much better at detangling hair and dealing with fur, thanks to the antitangle TriCut brush (which I find to work well with my long-haired corgi). MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra should be in this price range (use a price tracker) and greatly outperform other models in the same price range. I think one of them shipped with the anti-tangle tricut brush, which worked well with my long-haired corgi's fur. I'd so change the mop pads to the roborock saros one (cheap on aliexpress) as it's plusher and can remove muddy prints better. Not so much a fan of how the dustbin can clog in the middle with fur, but have empty space on the sides, and how the self-cleaning mop washboard loves to have fur in every nook and cranny. The MOVA P10 Pro Ultra does also seem to have a front wheel breaking issue in North America, which is weird since this issue isn't reported nearly as much with the near identical Dreame L40 Ultra.

Thanks for sharing! The L40 Ultra will be the most cost effective de facto flagship at 400ish which blows other robots at the same price out of the water.

The dreame L40 is a de facto flagship with much better obstacle avoidance mainly because of the better software and the fact it has an RGB camera. The edge and corner cleaning is also much better. The roborock S7 max ultra only has structured light so obstacle avoidance won’t be as good.

There’s no best robot! But the best bang for buck in the US is going to be the dreame L40 ultra at 440usd at physical dreame stores which deliver in the us mainland for free to 499 or 599 on amazon. It cleans much better than a roomba combo.

Poop dodging? Sorry this feature won’t be on both models you’ve mentioned. It’s only in the 400-600 range that has actual ability to dodge poop. I’d check out the MOVA p10 pro ultra or the dreame l40 ultra which are currently the cheapest models with this capability and sometimes is sold with the antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well for my long haired corgi. I think there’s also the Narwal Freo Z ultra which was at a similar price range of 600 something.

Try the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra for 499 USD or the near equivalent Dreame L40 Ultra at the same price. Much better at cleaning than the ecovacs model while being cheaper. Only the Narwal models have a handle to carry its base station. However, every model with an all in one base station (with the exception of the Narwal flow), need to have the base station on the same floor as the robot.

r/RoborockIs it worth the extra money to get the Qrevo maxV over the Qrevo S?

Are you looking for only roborock? The roborock MaxV has no extending side brush for corner cleaning. Roborock’s side and edge cleaning algorithm is also rather conservative and won’t extend the side brush out to clean closer to edges if there’s like a toe kick or swing the extended mop(which dreame/MOVA does and Narwal does this too but with the mops only). > better mobility and avoiding obstacles Roborock’s obstacle avoidance lags behind other robots, even at this price range. TvT I’d check out the dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra if cheaper than the MaxV. Turns out it’s the p50 with the broken front wheel issue.

The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are popular combo robots at 500-600 usd (I haven’t found a combo that is in the same price range and delivers the same functions and performance as these two models). The main brush won’t get tangled if you use the TriCut brush which worked well in my home with long hair and a long haired corgi.

Cost effective choice that deals well with fur: dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra work with an antitangle TriCut brush which has worked well in my experience with a long haired corgi. Price should be from 400-600 when on sale. Eufy e25/28 will also be a good choice at about 600-800. Do ask eufy customer support for a new dirty water tank to avoid it from leaking it on the floor. The s1 was ruled out as the e25/28 do better on rugs and carpets and the s1 (both non-pro and pro) lacks a good antitangle brush but the all rubber main brush is generally tangle resistant.

r/RobotVacuumsBest vacuum + mop combo for mixed floors, allergies/asthma, and cat hair? (early fall Prime Day deals planning)

I wouldn’t recommend robot vacuums if you are solely concerned with allergy and asthma care as most robot vacuums are not fully sealed (the Dyson VisNav 360 has been verified by a third party lab to be fully sealed meeting HEPA standards but it’s not really a great robot). I’d get an air purifier and get the robot vacuum to clean up fur and litter. I’d definitely go for the L40 ultra at this price since it’ll have the most cost effective obstacle avoidance and should automatically increase suction and slows down when it sees litter. Just note it’ll have to autoempty more frequently since the dustbin isn’t very well suited for lots of fur. As for care, you’d need to tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning runs, clean the dirty water tank, refill and empty the clean and dirty water tanks. You can add robot safe cleaning solution to the clean water tank so it mops with detergent.

r/RobotVacuumsLooking for a good vacuum/ mop robot

I’d prioritize a robot with antitangle rollers, decent mopping (usually starting at the 500 USD range), and an easy to clean robot. Really good midrange option: dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at about 500. They’ll deliver the best bang for buck performance. The x40 ultra should also be in this price range. It should come with an antitangle TriCut brush that works but generally makes it louder. The most expensive options have quieter antitangle rollers as they don’t cut the tangled hair but direct it to the dustbin with their tapered end. A bit more expensive but better mopping: the eufy e25 at 629 USD has antitangle brush rollers that work and a decent roller mop. do ask Eufy’s customer support for their updates dirty water component as the one the first gen ones ship with have a leaking issue. I don’t see any other robot in this price range that mops better. Most expensive with the best mopping that doesn’t really come at the cost of vacuuming pet fur at 999: the MOVA Z60 Ultra SA has antitangle rollers and a good roller mop that can extend to clean closer to edges with antitangle combs on the roller mop to prevent tangling. It’s very similar to the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller which is more expensive with the only difference being threshold crossing wheels but the mopping is the same. MOVA sent me their Z60 ultra roller to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program and I found it to mop really well with no tangles anywhere other than fur wrapped around the fluffing roller which you need to clean once every 30 working hours (the app reminds you).

The dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra frequently are at 475 usd, I would definitely wait for sales. These robots are going to be the most cost effective compared to other robots. They should come with an antitangle Tricut brush or a tangle resistant rubber roller.

Brands with good obstacle avoidance (assuming the models at least have an RGB camera): DJI, dreame, eufy, MOVA (a dreame subbrand), Narwal We’re going to filter these brands by your requirements. Brands that have antitangle brushes: all the brand I’ve mentioned earlier have antitangle main brushes of some kind on at least one model. Brands that are generally good all rounders when it comes to vacuum and mopping: dreame, eufy (e25/e28 and hopefully the S2), and MOVA. Eufy’s e25 is pretty good at its regular price. It uses the same principle as your curv’s brushes to detangle hair and it’s reported to work well. You’d also get solid eufy aftersales support. If you choose this model, ask eufy support to send the new water tank so it will not leak dirty water onto your floors. Dreame and MOVA have a lot of models and the antitangle technology differs between model so here’s what matters: Dreame’s TriCut Brush/MOVA’s EasyChop Brush Little blades are hidden in the brush roller which have combs just big enough for hair and fur to get into. When the brush spins it powers the blades to move like a razor and cuts off any hairs tangled in the combs. However, the models that use this single brush design are prone to ineffectively using the space in the dustbin, clogging the dustbin with fur in the middle while having empty space on the sides. Models with this brush: Literally any dreame or MOVA robot starting from the 10 series and newer that uses a single brush (the MOVA p20 ultra is an oddball exception). I’d recommend models that work with this brush as the most cost effective choice as models like the L40 ultra can be found at about 500-600 usd now in the US. It worked well with my heavily shedding long haired corgi. Dual antitangle rollers: Dreame’s HyperStream detangling DuoBrush and MOVA’s TroboWave DuoBrush Like the roborock QRevo Curv, it channels hair that is tangled on it to the narrow end where it’ll be free. However unlike the curv, the main difference is that the narrow end where the hair leaves is somewhat covered by the brush roller and the dual brushes are designed like the S8 Pro Ultra in a parallel configuration (II). The brush closer to the front is all TPU rubber for carpets and the brush further from the front is rubber and bristles angled for hair to slip to the narrow end. For homes with heavily shedding pets, models with this DuoBrush are my recommendation as it comes with a fur compression feature where it uses the airflow to push the fur to the end of the dustbin that is furthest from the dustbin’s opening so it can fully utilize the space. It’ll also be able to pack more fur into the dustbin. I was able to test this feature and it worked as advertised (which rarely happens). It worked well with my heavily shedding long haired corgi. Models with this DuoBrush: Dreame: Combo: Aqua 10 pro/ultra track, Aqua 10 Ultra Roller, Aqua 10 Roller, X50 Ultra, X50S Ultra, Matrix 10, L50 Ultra, L50 Pro Ultra Vacuum focused with only structured light as its obstacle avoidance sensors: D20 Plus and the D20 Pro Plus MOVA: Combo: V50 Ultra, P50S Ultra, Z60 Ultra Roller, V60 Mobius Vacuum focused with only structured light as its obstacle avoidance sensors: E30 Pro Plus (looks the same as the D20 Pro Plus) Narwal’s new model called the flow looks pretty nice too. Narwal is generally more focused on mopping though.

In the us I believe Amazon has sales events coming soon. In the 500-600 range, there is the dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra which punches way above their weight compared to other robots in this price range. Both work with an antitangle TriCut brush (which is often given with the robot now but it doesn’t hurt to check) which worked well with my long haired corgi. Do note that the dustbin on these models are rather small and can clog up with fur quickly and even the highest autoempty frequency doesn’t seem to be enough for the super shedders. There’s the dreame l40s ultra at like 700-800 if obstacle avoidance isn’t an issue (like pet “accidents” and cables) but will do much better with fur as it has an onboard fur compression feature which allows it to eat more fur without getting as easily clogged. However at the same price range there’s the eufy s1 (if carpet vacuuming isn’t a concern) and the eufy e25 that are great contenders (just ask eufy support to send the new dirty water tank to prevent leaking, they’ve generally been pretty proactive with this) If Narwal has a sale for their Freo Z ultra I’d check those out too. It’s much cheaper in Western Europe at €549 but is at $799 in the states. Buy these from reputable retailers with a good return policy in case you get a lemon. Amazon has a good 30 day return policy. I believe dreame has physical stores in the US that ship robots for free (often at a discounted price with free accessories) in the mainland US and there’s someone at the store to call if something goes wrong. I’d check Costco out too. They should also have good units and I think the price premium is worth the peace of mind since you can easily return if there’s a dud.

r/RobotVacuumsMOVA P50 Pro Ultra vs Ecovacs T50 Max Pro Omni vs Roborkck QRevo Edge S5A vs Dreame L40 Ultra
7 months ago

>I want **strong suction**, **good mopping**, **solid obstacle avoidance**, and **hands-free dock maintenance** MOVA's P50 Pro Ultra will have the best self-cleaning mop washboard. >Prefer something that’ll **last a few years** and not choke on socks or cords MOVA's P50 Pro Ultra and the Dreame L40 Ultra will have the best obstacle avoidance out of the robots you've listed. Ecovacs' obstacle avoidance is eh because of a not-so-good computer vision program, even though it has an RGB camera and structured light. Roborock's **QRevo Edge S5A** only has structured light, and robots with just structured light like to eat socks and cords (mine included). I do see that the tricut brush's performance gets worse on carpet when it comes to fur pickup. For edge mopping, it's actually Dreame's and MOVA's really aggressive edge cleaning algorithm that is the best at mopping closest to edges, right next to furniture, and under toe kicks. However, it doesn't have any springs, so it will ride up against quarter-round wall moldings. Roborock and Ecovacs shouldn't be placed against quarter-round wall moldings when the mop is extended. The corner cleaning is also the best because of the much better side brush extension algorithm from Dreame and MOVA. Roborock is more sheepish in deploying the side brush. If it’s only chair legs that’s a concern, I’d check out the roborock q10 s5+ or if hair and fur shedding is a concern the dreame d20 plus/pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus which should be in the 200-400 range.

The dreame L40 ultra is a better performing option at 399. It’s currently the best bang for buck robot vacuum. It should come with an all rubber brush which is generally tangle resistant but the ends will have hair wrapped around it. Thankfully the end caps are removable so you can easily remove them. I think it can also come with antitangle TriCut brush that does good with hair. If you have pets that shed a lot, the removed mops when just vacuuming prevent the issue of the lifted mops dragging fur. Depends if you want the robot to vacuum or vacuum and mop. Most combo robots generally sacrifice vacuuming ability to accommodate the mop parts. Best budget vacuuming focused robot is the roborock q10 s5+ or the dreame d20 plus/pro plus in the 200-300 range if pet fur is more of a concern. The Dyson VisNav 360 can be considered if you want a robot that cleans as well as a cordless Dyson (yes, a Dyson is one of the best robot vacuums) but there are tradeoffs regarding its battery life and navigation (current owners say it has improved). I’d only consider the Dyson if it is less than half of its retail price. Do not get the Dyson Spot+Scrub unless you like to burn your money. Best bang for buck robot vacuum and mop combo is the dreame l40 ultra at 400 usd on amazon.

r/RobotVacuumsQrevo Edge 5A vs Mova P10 pro ultra
2 months ago

I would get these models from Amazon, run it as frequently as possible (cleaning the whole floor once a day and cleaning some rooms too in the same day) before the return period ends so you can catch any build quality issues and return them if it arises. It does seem that the complaints about the broken front wheel have recently decreased in quantity so it’s likely that they fixed it in their newer batches. Quality control is the brand’s responsibility and I’m not going to apologize nor defend their mistakes which I think shouldn’t have happened in the first place but them improving is a step in the right direction. If you want obstacle avoidance, the MOVA p10 pro ultra and the Dreame l40 ultra (also at the same price) have superior obstacle avoidance of the qrevo edge/curv. Unlike the qrevo edge which has an RGB camera, a flashlight and structured light to help with obstacle avoidance, the Edge S5A has no RGB camera and only structured light so do not expect the edge S5A to avoid things like cables, shoelaces, kid toys, and even people without at least bumping into them. I’d choose the dreame l40 ultra over the p10 pro ultra as it can use the side brush on carpets and remove its mops when it is vacuuming. MOVA did send me their V50 ultra and their z60 ultra roller for a review as part of their Reddit collaboration program.

I’d run the robot several times a day before the return period ends to make sure there are no flaws that could show up. It’s always good to tap dust out of the removable dustbin filter after every few cleaning runs. Highly recommend setting it to vacuum first then mop. I would look at the Dreame L40 Ultra first. You can snag it for around ~$400, and it’s a steal at that price point because it often bundles with the TriCut Anti-Tangle Brush. I’ve tested this brush, and it actually works well on fur and hair, though the trade-off is that it’s noticeably louder than premium models and isn't magic—you'll still need to pull hair clumps off the ends of the roller about once every two weeks. But for the price, it’s hard to beat. However, if you are willing to spend a bit more to get that perfect experience you mentioned where you don't have to babysit the machine, I highly recommend the MOVA V50 Ultra Complete at 779 USD. I run this in a home with a long-haired Corgi and waist-length human hair (much longer than the standard 12-inch test hair), and it has literally never tangled. Not once. If you run it on the heavy Vacuum first then Mop cycle, it might need to head back to the dock to recharge once during a 1000sqft sq. ft. run, but honestly, since it doesn't eat cables or get stuck, I just let it do its thing. It perfectly fits your criteria. r/RobotVacuumsBest option for pet hair and obstacle avoidance?

Not once. If you run it on the heavy Vacuum first then Mop cycle, it might need to head back to the dock to recharge once during a 900 sq. ft. run, but honestly, since it doesn't eat cables or get stuck, I just let it do its thing. It perfectly fits your criteria. The Dreame L40 Ultra will deliver more features like better obstacle avoidance since it has an RGB camera and better edge cleaning (it swings and extends its side brush and mop more liberally than the Roborock models) at 400 USD.

Is the dock on hard floors? The L40 ultra doesn’t do well when the dock is on carpets.

Dreame’s L40 ultra is the best bang for buck combo at 399 :)

I’d recommend a robot good with fur like the dreame d20 pro plus and the MOVA e30 pro plus as their dual antitangle brushes do well with fur and their large dustbin paired with the fur compression feature which compacts the fur in the dustbin with airflow can hold a lot of fur. This is a vacuuming focused model so don’t expect great mopping as I’m pretty sure you value it being able to tackle all that fur more. You can see justadad’s review of it here: https://youtu.be/qkjU7Ge0FEA They will not avoid any pet messes so do check before you run them. If you want it to avoid things like cables, the Dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra are good vacuum and mop combo choices but I think the dustbin will be easily clogged with fur.

For $400, you really aren’t going to get anything better than the eufy C20. I’d actually increase my budget by 50 dollars and look at the dreame l40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra at 450 which will clean much better than the eufy c20

There’s the MOVA p10 pro ultra and the l40 ultra at 399. I’d get the l40 ultra since it can remove its mops for carpet.

What's your home like? Is it mostly hardfloors, carpet, or a mix of both? As for obstacle avoidance, the best options are the Dreame X/L40 Ultra and newer models, the Eufy S1 Pro, and the Narwal Freo Z Ultra. Roborock won't do as well for cables. If this isn't an issue, it'll be fine too. I don't recommend the roborock Z70, the Roborock Saros 10 and the QRevo Curv would be much better choices as accommodating the arm meant the cleaning performance had to be sacrificed. For corner cleaning, Dreame is the most aggressive in terms of its algorithm. Roborock is rather shy when it comes to cleaning corners with the extending side brush. I'm not sure about Eufy's E25/E28's extending side brush, but the square shape can make it harder for it to fit into corners if the algorithm isn't optimized. The Eufy S1 Pro and the Narwal Freo Z do not have as good corner cleaning capabilties.

1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. I’m not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because there’s too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since there’s no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. I’d avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.

Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.

The best self cleaning models can also clean the base station’s mop washboard and the vacuum’s filter. I’d recommend these ones which can do this: Currently the best at self cleaning: the MOVA V50 Ultra can dry it’s dustbin and dustbag to prevent mildew unlike the other choices which brings it above the other robots Almost there: Dreame L/X50 Ultra, L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra In the middle: MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Pretty okay at self cleaning: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, Dreame L/X40, roborock models with the motorized scrapers, Narwal models with an all in one base station.

r/RobotVacuumsBest for mopping textured tile floors?

I’d save my money and go with a dreame L/X40 which retails from 440-680ish if you buy it from their physical store which does free mainland shipping in the us if you place an order via phone/email. You can change the mop pad holders to the flexipress ones which can tilt up to 5° and go up 2mm and down 1mm and use plush mop pads like the roborock Saros or Curv pads which are better for uneven surfaces like your textured tiled floors.

r/RobotVacuumsHow do we feel about Vacuum Wars ratings?

I like how Jamie Andrews tests aspects that are advertised for quality of life (self cleaning the dock and using hot water) whereas vacuumwars simply rattles them off like a sales brief checklist. I can confirm Dreame does reach the advertised hot water temperature listed (I tested myself with an electric thermometer connected to the area on the washboard where the water would flow from the pipes) and it usually hovers at about 5-10°C below the advertised temperature before reaching it for a second or two. Don’t know about the new AceClean dock as I don’t have it but Dreame told me any misplacement of the temperature probes will result in measuring errors of more than 10°C.

r/RobotVacuumsBuying a robot vacuum for elderly parents. Which model is the most hands off and lowest maintenance?

I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.

I had a **Dreame L10s Plus** that suddenly stopped dispensing water. It could only be used for dry mopping. I tried to clean the nozzles, but that didn't help. The retailer told me to return it, which I did. Then I bought a **Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2**, which left large amounts of water on the wooden floor. Water drops would be an understatement. I tried all the settings in this area, but it always leaked water. Deactivating Mop Extend didn't help either. Cleaning the mops was very noisy and drying them was unbearable. Again, the dealer told me to return the device. And then I made the mistake of buying a **DREAME L40 Ultra AE**. It made constant beeping noises while mopping and also left water stains on the wooden floor. Cleaning the mops was also noisy and drying them was again unbearable. I returned this one too. So, for me, the Dreame chapter is closed forever. My only luck in this odyssey was that I bought from a customer friendly seller.

Yes, if i'm correct, the L40 uses light to detect objects, while the L40s has a camera, which works a lot better.

This breakdown helps a lot! If you care most about getting floors really clean, go with the first one. It's better at suction and mopping.

r/Dreame_TechDreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it?

I just got the L40 Ultra AE last week. Less than $1000 on Amazon. I'm tickled shitless with this machine. I've had nothing but Roombas since at least 2014, and I never realized how far behind that irobot has fell. The L40 Ultra AE is easily half the db's of the Roombas. The vacuum dump is unbelievablely quiet. This thing cleans very well, but unfortunately I only have a Roomba to compare it to. I can't believe how far these devices have come.

r/RobotVacuumsMaking a decision is so hard!

Agreed. I had a Roomba top model since 2014. I recently got a Dreame L40. I cannot belive how far iRobot fell behind. I always stuck with them becaue I always had good response and customer service, but wow. What these newer ones can do is amazing.
