"The Dreame/Mova uses their "Hyper-stream duo brush" which pushes the hair out to one end of the roller where it gets sucked into the bin."
"Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. ... I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours~"
"the fur compression feature it has when it vacuums which is great for heavy shedders"

"Both L50 models have the same battery capacity (6400mAh) as the X50 ultra so the battery drain issue isn’t nearly as bad as it was on my dreame l40s pro ultra."
"the L50 Pro Ultra has a 6400 mah battery like the X50 Ultra."
"It also brings a bigger battery and slightly more suction headroom. ... L50 Pro Ultra → basically the L40s Pro Ultra with the retractable lidar + bigger battery. Solid if you want a safe bet and lower profile."

"The RGB camera enabled robots can detect cat litter and appropriately increase suction, slow down, and stop the side brush to avoid scattering it."
"I've also got 2 kids and toys all over the floor and it barely gets stuck."
"The obstacle avoidance on these two models and the X50 should be the same as the X40 ultra now since it’s pretty mature."

"For less maintenance, the dreame x50/l50/l40s pro ultra are the best self-cleaning robots (cleans its own filter when autoemptying and the best self-cleaning mop washboard). ... The self cleaning at the filter and the mop washboard were a huge upgrade though. My Xiaomi’s filter (same as the x40 ultra) would be pretty clogged with fine dust and lil dust bunnies that would make it right into the pleats and could never be cleared with autoemptying so I would have to tap the dust out at the end of every day. The dreame l40s pro ultra did much better taking care of this."

"The dreame X/L50 ultra ’s edge cleaning algorithm is more aggressive and can get into corners and edges better than the roborock qrevo models with an extending side brush and mop"

I hope you are right about Dreame as I just got L50 pro Ultra. After almost 10 years with Roomba 980 my biggest fear is that these tech filled toys cant live half of that
L50 ultra Amazon is $800 the best. Better than the l40 I had
My apartment is hardwood with low Pile rugs. 2 sheddy dogs and 1 (beautiful and sweet) sheddy wife. I’m pretty happy with my L50 ultra so far. But there are some caveats: The battery life isn’t great. The navigation/obstacle avoidance is kind of quirky.
I had an x40 ultra that got warranty refunded. I’m in my first week with my L50 ultra and I’m cautiously optimistic. After a few days fiddling with settings it is operating how I would like it and doing a decent job of it. It does have the hardware for matter but is not “yet” supported. The only negative I have so far is that it’s battery life is atrocious.

I’m about a month in with my L50 Ultra. I’m in a 750 SF NYC apartment with wood floors, tile and 3 low pile area rugs, 2 sheddy dogs and a sheddy (beautiful) wife. After reading this post I just flipped my bot over for the first time to check the brush. ZERO tangling. It does fantastic on the hardwood/tile and I would say it’s very very respectable for the carpet. I upgraded after an X40 Ultra had a fatal error and am much happier with this unit than the X40 Edit: the “hair compaction” feature in the base station also seems to be quite effective.
One thing I forgot to mention is the battery life is quite bad. If I set it to run a double pass over my whole apartment on max suction, it gets about 4/5 clean before it has to recharge.

I’m pretty damn happy with my L50 Ultra
I got the dreameL50 and its pretty decent. But if you dont need one that goes up little steps then its a waste of money
Maybe wait fro the new narwhal flow 2 if you want really good mopping. But for pet hair I think the l50 ultra is the best. But if you want to go for roborock becauseo f the better build quality and customer support, the saros 10r would be good.
I own both robots and this is a tough choice. I like them both a lot. The L50 ultra has a very small advantage with maintenance because it can dispense solution, whereas you have to add it manually to the clean water tank on the Qrevo Curve 2 Flow. However, the Curv is very low maintenance for a roller mop robot. It does a really good job at cleaning itself. I've had it for a couple of months now and everytime I check the parts that require maintenance they are clean. The Curve also has a much better battery life. Hopefully this info helps a little.
Dreame X50 Ultra vs. L50 Pro Ultra – simplified • Climbing Ability • X50 Ultra: Up to 2.4” (with retractable legs) • L50 Pro Ultra: Up to 1.6”, no legs • Navigation & Sensors • X50 Ultra: Dual laser + 3D structured light, superior obstacle detection • L50 Pro Ultra: Single LiDAR sensor, solid but less advanced • Suction Power • X50 Ultra: 20,000 Pa • L50 Pro Ultra: 19,000 Pa • Mopping System • Both: Smart mopping with mop lifting, auto washing, drying, and water refill • Docking Features • Both: Auto dustbin emptying, hot water mop cleaning, hot air drying • Smart Features • X50 Ultra: Matter support, built-in voice control, pet camera, more automation • L50 Pro Ultra: Strong app control, fewer smart home integrations • Price Point • X50 Ultra: 1,099 (instore deal) • L50 Pro Ultra: pending US release price • Summary • X50 Ultra: Best choice for max tech, cleaning power, and automation • L50 Pro Ultra: Great value with excellent performance and core features honestly, with the sale going on the X 50 would be a better choice for a longevity and the ability to climb if necessary
Actually i dont like the L50 series imho. the incremental increase in suction and water temp plus that little wheel lift is too little feature for that huge price bump over L40. The dual brush on L50 is kind of meh unless you have deep carpet. For hard floor, single brush is good enough. Personally mova p10 pro ultra (which is literally just dreame L40 but with the detachable mop pad software lock) is the best value for money. Especially when they are on sale. both dreame and mova belong the same company and used the same upstream supplier btw. They just market it to differently. Almost all the spare part are interchangeable between mova and L series machine. Roborock saros Z70 gave up a lot internal room to fit that robo arm. So its suction and dust capacity is much lower than non-arm equivalent. I don't think it justified the cost and lower suction power yet. btw there are reusable dust bag with zipper. Just to let you know. It's sold by 3rd party and less hepa seal but the trade off is you dont need to buy new bag when it's filled. just unzip and empty it out then zip back in.
I think that the Mova P30 Ultra (P50 in china) is coming to the global market soon but there will be some differences as you can see from my spreadsheet
Hi, thank you for reaching out to me, as you can see from the table the L50 Pro Ultra is a way better choice than the X40 Pro Ultra for just 100€ more. "available as built-in hook-up" means that the robot is available in a master version (see Dreame X40 Master) which means that the robot is available in a configuration without the water tanks (different base, very slim) so it must be connected to the water hookup of your home in order to work. It is still possible to connect the L50 Pro Ultra to the water lines but it is still going to have the same tall base, but if that it's not a problem for you I would definitely take the L50
If mopping is really important "urgent" then definitly the new Dreame Mova Z50 Ultra (mops 2-3 times better than any spinning mop pads). if mopping isn't really important (the robot won't remove stains) than Dreame robots with good self cleaning (they have AceClean 3°generation self-cleaning with reduced maintenance) are: \-Dreame X50 Ultra (expensive) \-Dreame L50 Pro Ultra \-Dreame L40s Pro Ultra \-Dreame L40s Ultra (coming 2025) \-Dreame Mova V50 Ultra (expensive) \-Dreame Mova P50 Pro Ultra \-Dreame Mova P50 Ultra (bad obstacle avoidance) In this case I would probably take the L50 Pro Ultra but it may be to expensive too so the P50 Pro Ultra could be a cheaper good solution. In any case remember to only buy from Amazon to avoid troubles
Roller mop vacs will require more maintinence and servicing compared to spin or flat pad vacs. If you want least maintinence. Don't use the mop function. Most modern robots now just require the dust bag to be removed every few months or to empty their dirty water chamber. I have an l50 ultra and I empty my dirty water chamber, refill water when required. It does its own mop pad washing and drying, and even does baseboard cleaning which is under the mop pads You could buy something like the ecovacs x11 which is a bagless vacuum container so no bags to throw out, but it's still a roller mop style robot so more maintinence. Depends on how much you want to spend, and how clean you also want your floors. Dual spin mops are a good middle ground. Roller mops will clean hard wood flooring and harder stains better, and flat mop pads are just okay for light messes
