"significantly worse object avoidance than than the Dreame x40 and L40 ... The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."

"The obstacle avoidance is also very good and I only have the pet in house setting on for pet messes and it recognizes my fake dog poop all the time and drive around it."

"The unit was an upgrade from a Roomba S9. That unit did a good job of vacuuming but was very prone to having problems with obstacles. For example, it would launch itself up onto the circular rod -like bases of several of my chairs and become stuck there. They Roborock 10R correctly recognized all of the bases as something to avoid. Some of them get labeled as chair bases and others simply as wires. It has avoided every obstacle."

"I also have two giant long haired (nonshedding excessively) cats. I shed hair a LOT. Worse than the cats. It works so well."

"It works great with long hair and long haired corgi fur in my home. This is absolutely tangle free in my use and the correct cover can stop hair from going to the sides."

"mopping is BETTER than i do."

"The Quevo S really made me appreciate the large tanks of clean/dirty water at the base stations and it's auto washing features. ... every time I wanted to mop I had to manually refill the water and replace the pads... Which just resulted in me not mopping that often."

"I have an X40 Master and would not want to go back to filling and emptying water tanks. ... I have a lot of floor area so depending on how much water I set my earlier model robot to use, it could run out before the clean is finished. The X40 Master solves that problem completely."

"it even re-mopped when it sensed the water coming off the pads was excessively dirty--a feature I scoffed at initially, but was pleasantly surprised by."

"Based on the YouTube review below, we picked up a Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 and holy cow the difference is night and day. ... If you go Dreame, make sure you get the tricut brush as well, it's what really changes things. ... We have two Goldens running around the house, and now that I've set up the D10 with tricut brush to run at night right before the X1 Omni, the hair tumbleweeds are gone and I no longer have to clean hair out of the vacuum rollers. ... TL;DR: Non-carpet flooring with pets? Get a Dreame vacuum and a Tricut brush."

"The vacuuming is really good at picking up all dog hair (4 dogs, 2 of which are huskies)."

"Twin rollers are a bit nicer if you’ve got pets that shed a ton ... Twin rollers are genuinely helpful for pets. They grab more hair and are less prone to tangles compared to the single roller, so that’s the biggest dog-owner benefit."

"stopped doing edges ... each week it got worse at navigation, essentially only doing half rooms ... stopped sweeping and mopping anywhere it transitioned from rug to floor ... It would leave 2 ft circumference around every rug unswept which was horrible near dog doors and the rug in front of them (main reason I got vacuum!) ... But was not willing to deal with it stopping sweeping the entire floor. ... It was glitching out around edges"

"It gives up quickly and does not map well. ... For example, first time out, it was unable to leave the kitchen. ... So it mapped the kitchen and a space outside the kitchen that it could see was called a room. But it was only able to see 30% of the actual room. ... It did not update the map as the dreame would each run. ... Sent out for a remap. Got the center room and failed to get the hallway that did not have a threshold to cross, got 20% of another room it could't get in and didn't place a wall where there was a wall."

"failed to dock itself almost 80% of the time. ... Its right wheel couldn’t get on the ramp, so it didn’t even get near the contacts."

"My qrevo 5ae ran over my foot not 15 minutes ago :p Roborocks evolving backwards! ... my qrevo 5ae just climbs on chair legs and low furniture parts where it shouldn't. ... Bit dissapointed in the avoidance on my Qrevo 5ae. It always tries to climb up on chair legs when it's not required. ... Ah, you'd think so, but that doesn't seem possible atm. I discussed it with Roborock in a support email. In a different reddit thread we came up with the idea of a "no-climb" feature, but it's not on the short-term roadmap. ... You can make it a no go zone, but then it doesn't clean around those bits of furniture. ... We have chairs with shiny metal legs. The vacuum has problems detecting them. I think it's because the lidar reflects of of it in a confussing way. ... main concern is the height of the lidar. Anything below the height of the robo vac is less easily detected."

"I have never faced such a horrible service from any products in my life. ... Their service is ridiculous. ... The technician would come home and then inspect the device and raise a ticket for the spare part. So the spare part will be couriered to the customer directly after 2 or 3 weeks. Once this reaches your home, the technician will come again and replace that part. This is ridiculous. ... They don't provide service, they don't provide warranty. ... n one of my friends case, they had denied warranty saying there is fungus on board and its caused by water damage."

"Out of the two Dreame models you asked about, I'd go with the X50 if its superior vacuuming and fur cleaning you're looking for. ... X40 isn't a bad machine at all, but for medium carpets with dog fur shedding, I'd go X50 and be happy with the purchase the first time around rather than wishing I had went with the other model."

r/RobotVacuumsDreame Acqua 10, expensive product or alpha test? There are big problems here.

I have the very same issue in the kitchen. I had a X40 pro and it was already not the best. But the aqua roller is worse! I tried ten days and really gave it a chance. But I really don’t see one single reason for keeping it. Very disappointing

r/RobotVacuumsAre roller mops the only sensible choice now?

I tried the aqua 10 roller and I was surprised by the results. In a bad way. My guess is that there is not enough pressure on the floor with this system. The robot is not heavy enough and the result is really less than average. As comparison I also have the X40 from Dreame and it is way more efficient. I sent the aqua 10 back.

r/askSingaporeHas anyone bought a robot vac from China and used them successfully in SG?

i advise you don't do it. i bought a dreame X40 pro plus and it is region locked. i had to subscribe to some russian guy and speak to him via translator to bypass the region lock, at the same time needing a china number. Plus the issue of warranty. robots spoil often coz it's used daily. especially the battery. i had to break the robot up to fix it myself a few times already. not forgetting, once u use the china server in app, i cant see my other device in my dreame singapore version for my vacuum mop at the same time. and it's always a constant race to beat dreame at their game before they block again in the future, ill just get the global version. also, it's blocked again now and im just lazy to bypass already. so luckily i have scheduled already set up and at least it can be voice controlled via CHINESE.. so language is another issue

r/RobotVacuumsBest robovac that'll cross thresholds?

It depends on tall your thresholds are: For single thresholds: Up to 2cm: most modern robots can cross with no difficulty Up to 2.2cm: Dreame L/X40 Ultra. The dreame models with the EasyLeap wheels (L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the L50 Ultra) can cross the first threshold up to 2.2cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1.8cm Up to 3cm: roborock models with the AdaptLift chassis. It can cross a single threshold up to 3cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1cm. Up to 3.5cm: the MOVA P60 Pro Ultra (mainland china only for now) has active suspension like the roborock Adaptlift chassis and the EasyLeap edge climbing wheels to climb a single threshold up to 3.5cm and a secondary threshold up to 3.5cm. Up to 4.2cm: Dreame X50 Ultra, Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track, and the MOVA V50 Ultra all can cross a single threshold up to 4.2cm if the threshold is shorter than 9-10cm (5.2cm if the threshold is sufficiently long enough) and a secondary threshold up to 1.8cm.

r/RobotVacuumsWhat generally goes wrong in a vacuum+mop+cleaning robot? What to watch out for?

1. It really depends on your purchasing region. Costco is a popular choice given its generous return policy but choices are rather limited compared to buying from Amazon which has an easy return policy within 30 days. For other purchasing regions, buying from a reputable retailer with a good return policy and an optional protection plan would be good. In Australia, I heard Harvey Norman is nicer with returns compared to JB HIFI. 2. The robots with the best self cleaning will be Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra/L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and MOVA’s V50 Ultra P50S Ultra > MOVA’s P50 Ultra/ Pro Ultra > Roborock’s models that have spinning mops with the Multifunctional Dock 3.0 (roborock models with a vibrating mop have a washboard that is more difficult to clean as you can’t remove it) ≈ Narwal Freo models (completely detachable base) > Dreame’s models with the mop-driven wiper mop washboard (cleaning the wiper washboard is rather difficult since there’s too many nooks and crannies and you’d still have to get down to clean the areas the wipers can’t reach) > other combo robots with an all in one base station As for combo robots with roller mops and have an all in one base station, the washboard is generally flat with a few grooves so it’s pretty easy to clean. I believe most of their washboards are removable. However, it’ll require more cleaning in the mop compartment and dirty water tank. Most roller mop models have an annoying cylindrical component which drives the roller mop like an upright wet dry vacuum but you can’t remove or move it to give it a deeper clean even if gunk is stuck on it. The only combos that are close to the level of self cleaning for spinning mop models are Dreame’s Aqua 10 Pro track, the MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow since both have self-cleaning mechanisms that are made to also clean the dirty water tank and the mop compartment while also having a very easy to clean mop compartment since the thing that moves the mops is also completely removable. If you want to support a US startup, you could look at the Matic since it’s a vacuum and mop robot but taking care of it looks rather easy since it lacks a base station. The maintenance involved is replacing the bag, refilling the water with a cleaning solution of choice, occasionally cleaning the roller mop, the roller mop filter, cleaning the brush roller and de clogging the mop tubes if needed.

X40 will do best for liquid spills since it can lift the main and side brush and avoid smearing. E25 will do best for dried on stains.

r/RobotVacuumsI very strongly, STRONGLY recommend against getting a Roomba
5 months ago

You mentioned that you have the x40. This model is prone to clogging with fur. The new dreame/MOVA models with fur compression do much better with fur and autoemptying. I tested the high frequency autoemptying setting and it autoempties once every 12sqm≈130sqft which is going to be more than enough. As for customer service, this is something many brands have to improve on.

r/RobotVacuumsWhich one of these 3?

The main difference is that the X40 has an RGB camera for obstacle avoidance but the others don’t as they only have structured light. This will matter if you need it to avoid things like cords and U-shaped furniture legs.

Otherwise they’ll all clean about just as well. I prefer the roborock edge and Curv to be easier to clean as the mop washboard is removable unlike the dreame X40.

r/RobotVacuumsRecommendations for First Robot Vacuum
17 days ago

The x40 is alright at its current discounted price, you just have to remember to tap the dust out of the small filter once every few cleaning runs. It is not as well suited for heavy shedders due to the small dustbin at 300mL and it can clog with fur in the middle but have empty space in the sides. I would recommend the newer x50 or the MOVA v50 for the larger dustbin (395mL) and has a fur compression feature which I found to actually work so it can maximize the space in the dustbin. The main downside is that the battery efficiency isn’t as good as the X40. https://preview.redd.it/yp4h53f1rpcg1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0cbcd17d32f08e83a3f064da8c7b72f28c2fc0bd As for buying (in the US), buy it from eBay from the official store with the Allstate extended warranty as it will mean Allstate will just refund you if your robot broke and if customer service is less than stellar.

r/RobotVacuumsChoosing a car was easier than choosing a robot vacuum
10 months ago

Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.

The best self cleaning models can also clean the base station’s mop washboard and the vacuum’s filter. I’d recommend these ones which can do this: Currently the best at self cleaning: the MOVA V50 Ultra can dry it’s dustbin and dustbag to prevent mildew unlike the other choices which brings it above the other robots Almost there: Dreame L/X50 Ultra, L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra In the middle: MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Pretty okay at self cleaning: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, Dreame L/X40, roborock models with the motorized scrapers, Narwal models with an all in one base station.

r/RobotVacuumsBest for mopping textured tile floors?

I’d save my money and go with a dreame L/X40 which retails from 440-680ish if you buy it from their physical store which does free mainland shipping in the us if you place an order via phone/email. You can change the mop pad holders to the flexipress ones which can tilt up to 5° and go up 2mm and down 1mm and use plush mop pads like the roborock Saros or Curv pads which are better for uneven surfaces like your textured tiled floors.

r/RobotVacuumsHow do we feel about Vacuum Wars ratings?

I like how Jamie Andrews tests aspects that are advertised for quality of life (self cleaning the dock and using hot water) whereas vacuumwars simply rattles them off like a sales brief checklist. I can confirm Dreame does reach the advertised hot water temperature listed (I tested myself with an electric thermometer connected to the area on the washboard where the water would flow from the pipes) and it usually hovers at about 5-10°C below the advertised temperature before reaching it for a second or two. Don’t know about the new AceClean dock as I don’t have it but Dreame told me any misplacement of the temperature probes will result in measuring errors of more than 10°C.

r/RobotVacuumsBuying a robot vacuum for elderly parents. Which model is the most hands off and lowest maintenance?

I highly recommend combo robots if your parents walk around the house barefoot, it greatly improves the feel! The combo robots I found best for keeping itself clean are the dreame and MOVA robots with the filter self cleaning function and the flat washboard. I was able to get away with making my MOVA V50 run everyday for 3 months without a noticeable change in cleanliness. After that it’ll be and the roborock Curv 2 Pro and the Narwal spinning mop robots which generally consume more water than the other options. The app is going to be a challenge for them but you can set it up for them and put it on a schedule so they won’t have to open the app at all.

I live in a one bedroom NYC apartment with wood, tile and low pile carpet. I have 2 dogs who shed constantly and a beautiful wife who also sheds constantly. I previously had an X 40 ultra. It was constantly getting tangled, even with the tri cut brush. Plus, after a few months it really just wasn’t picking up debris. Even though I serviced the filters, base station etc. So far with the L50 I haven’t had any of those issues. The only real complaint I have is the battery life and its navigation/map took a few weeks to really dial in with my apartment.

My home is a mix of hard floors and rugs. Last week, on a whim, I got the Shark PowerDetect 2in1 (vac and mop) from Amazon for £477. I was impressed with the cleaning power of it but had to send it back because I was unable to get it to clean under my sofa or up to the kickboards in my kitchen. I would have kept it if it wasn’t for that. Today I got a Dreame X40 Ultra Complete for £699 as I did my research this time and have found it to be a lot better suited to me and totally covered what was missing from the Shark.

the mopping portion in my opinion is definitely worth it, considering most models that come with mopping also come with other convenience features beyond just mopping that justify a higher price. Even so, just because you can find good RVC's at a premium doesn't mean you have to pay a premium, the DREAMME X40 Ultra and L40 Ultra are great examples of RVC's that give you good quality of life features and can be had for a better price than the model you we're looking at.

r/RobotVacuumsMedium pile carpet with dogs
8 months ago

Out of the two Dreame models you asked about, I'd go with the X50 if its superior vacuuming and fur cleaning you're looking for. It will have duo brushes to agitate and pick up better when vacuuming and better overall suction to pick up more debris on a single pass through. X40 isn't a bad machine at all, but for medium carpets with dog fur shedding, I'd go X50 and be happy with the purchase the first time around rather than wishing I had went with the other model. The Mova will be similar in terms of build to the X40 so I wouldn't go that route, plus they get you 3 years of warranty versus 5 yrs on the Dreame. Roborock will be the next best one when comparing it to the X50, they'll have similar sensors for objects and quality of life features such as voice control and self cleaning, the Roborock just costs a bit more but will be similar overall, so if it were me choosing between the 4 models, X50 is an easy choice. Hope this helps, Happy Hunting!

That’s starting to change. Models like the **L10s Pro+, X40 Ultra, and L20 Ultra** have been rolling out across the UK and EU this year, including bundle deals for Prime Day. If you’re open to alternatives that fit your needs — pet hair, baby-safe floors, and mixed surfaces — the **L10s Pro+** or **X40 Ultra Complete** are both strong picks.

r/Dreame_TechDreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs X40 which one is a better buy right now?

Hey — honestly both are excellent, but a lot depends on how much you want to future-proof. For your 200 m² house: * **L10s Ultra Gen 2** will definitely handle the size no problem, solid mopping, and you’re already getting hot water mop washing which is a huge step up from the original L10s Ultra. * **X40** gets you more AI avoidance, better edge cleaning, more flexible mop lifting, and smarter route planning — it does a bit better avoiding cables, socks, etc. And yes, it tends to track with floor lines better because of the newer pathing. If you’re mostly worried about "is the $330 difference worth it" — in a big space like yours, the X40’s better object avoidance and slightly faster clean times *do* start to add up over time. But the Gen 2 is still a very, very strong value. TLDR: If budget’s flexible, go X40. If you want the best price/performance combo, L10s Ultra Gen 2 is already great.

r/Dreame_Techis the x50 worth the extra 400€ on top of the x40
8 months ago

Hey — great question honestly, and you're getting good advice already. If you don’t have high thresholds to climb, the X40 honestly gets you most of the way there for a lot less money. Obstacle avoidance is already excellent on X40, battery life holds up very well for a 200m² house, and most people won’t feel a huge difference in daily cleaning performance unless your home has very specific challenges (big thresholds, deep-pile carpets, tons of complex furniture legs, etc). The X50’s extra legs, auto-lifting lidar, and a few upgraded sensors are awesome for tougher layouts or mixed-level homes — but if your floors are flat and you're mainly after strong cleaning with solid object detection, X40 gives you great value. That extra 400€ may honestly serve you better elsewhere. Hope that helps!

r/Dreame_TechDreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it?

Yep you’ve already got one of the most balanced bots Dreame has made. The pop-out edge brush on the newer models does help on baseboards and chair legs, but it’s not game-changing unless edges are your #1 complaint. Suction numbers look wild on paper, but in real life the jump isn’t double the clean—it’s more about handling heavy rugs and deeper pile. Twin rollers are a bit nicer if you’ve got pets that shed a ton, otherwise your single rubber roller is fine. Hot water mop washing does leave pads fresher, but for day-to-day floors cold water isn’t holding you back. If you’re happy now, I’d ride the L10s a while longer. The “worth it” upgrades really only show up if you’ve got tricky rugs, a lot of pet hair, or you want every edge spotless.

r/Dreame_TechDreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs newer models – are the upgrades really worth it?

Honestly, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 still holds up really well against the newer models — most of the upgrades are more about refinement than night-and-day differences. A few notes: * **Edge cleaning brush**: The pop-out brush on the L40/X40 does help in certain layouts, but it’s not magic. If your home has lots of obstacles and shorter wall runs, you’ll still see some misses. * **Suction**: The jump from \~11kPa to \~22kPa sounds massive, but in everyday cleaning the improvement is more modest — especially on hard floors where the L10s already does fine. It’s most noticeable on thicker carpets. * **Brushes**: Twin rollers are genuinely helpful for pets. They grab more hair and are less prone to tangles compared to the single roller, so that’s the biggest dog-owner benefit. * **Hot water washing**: Nice to have, but not a deal-breaker. It keeps mop pads fresher and helps with greasy messes, but cold wash + detergent tablets still does a solid job. If your L10s is already keeping up with your home, you’re not missing anything critical. The upgrade is worth it mostly if you want **less hair hassle** or if you have lots of carpet where stronger suction pays off. Otherwise, you’re in a good spot sticking with the L10s.

Im using X40U and my experiences are quite different, but i had low expectations. * It gives me what i needed. Not perfect, but regular floor cleaning. What makes overall experience of living at my flat a much better, * It never gets stuck on anything, but i have no kids, so most i can left on the floor is sock somewhere near my bed from time to time. * For me it takes 0 minutes to clean the floors now as im turning it on when i'm going for a walk, * It never got stuck anywhere. I have very narrow passage under my bed what he has to go through as it is the only path to clean side of the room. He takes that path every time as planned. I still need to do some deep cleaning myself, but it is once per 2 weeks to clean some hard to access places. My flat is quite well organised for such robot. Not much furniture, a lot of open space. Their application is very solid. This mapping flat feature is very well UX designed. I have perfect setup with cleaning ordered in a perfect way. My whole flat is 62 m\^2 and it makes all of it in about 50minutes, what perfectly fits my daily routine.
