"The vacuuming is really good at picking up all dog hair (4 dogs, 2 of which are huskies)."

"Twin rollers are a bit nicer if you’ve got pets that shed a ton ... Twin rollers are genuinely helpful for pets. They grab more hair and are less prone to tangles compared to the single roller, so that’s the biggest dog-owner benefit."

"My X40 picks up everything on the carpet and even leaves it decently combed"

"excellent hair tangle resistance since you can run the tricut brush. ... I have 2x Dreame x40s and they have the same brush system as the l40 and I have one running the tricut and one without it. Both have been excellent with resisting hair wrap with the tricut having zero hair tangled on it and the regular brush having a small amount on the ends."

"significantly worse object avoidance than than the Dreame x40 and L40 ... The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."

"the object avoidance on the dreame is far better than the eufy. That'll really help with toys and other loose objects that you're sure to have with kids."

"It hasn’t gotten stuck once ... no wires eaten ... the robot runs without hallucinating and stopping halfway through a vacuum cycle. ... After 15 cycles i’ve seen it go under metal chairs and in tight crevices in my house that would consistently make the roomba throw error codes and stop at least every other day. ... It’s never gotten stuck and on the highest settings in intensive cleaning modes i’m able to vacuum and mop 1800 sq ft in 3 hours, the roomba it’d take 3-4 hours just to vacuum alone, if it didn’t get stuck and shut down after 90 minutes."

"Hot water mop wash + hot air dry = way less stink, better hygiene. ... Dreame’s just smarter and cleaner long-term."

"Dreame X40 Ultra with a water pump so I don't need to replace the water every day"

"For corner cleaning, Dreame is the most aggressive in terms of its algorithm."

"it uses it's side brunch effectively to get into corners."

"The dreame X/L50 ultra’s edge cleaning algorithm is more aggressive and can get into corners and edges better than the roborock qrevo models with an extending side brush and mop but the dreame can ride up against floor moldings if there are any when the mop is extended whereas the roborock qrevo models will not."

"stopped doing edges ... each week it got worse at navigation, essentially only doing half rooms ... stopped sweeping and mopping anywhere it transitioned from rug to floor ... It would leave 2 ft circumference around every rug unswept which was horrible near dog doors and the rug in front of them (main reason I got vacuum!) ... But was not willing to deal with it stopping sweeping the entire floor. ... It was glitching out around edges"

"I had to replace roller twice because object detection was lacking and roller tore."

"The x40 that I bought was refurbished and had wonky navigation so I sent it back"

"Dreame customer service sucks. ... I have feeling no 1 over there understand basic English or the translation app they use is joke. ... Never buying that crap again. This was my 2nd X40 purchase for my parents."

"careful with Dreame’s refurbished on ebay, they don’t really check if the robots are working so it’s up to your luck, once you’re beyond the 30 days return window they’ll stop responding and you’re basically on your own. ... I really vouched for their refurbished units but they totally disappointed me, replaced my unit that had a small problem with one completely broken (doesn’t turn on and all scuffed up) and fully ghosted me after previously responding within a few hours, likely because my return window closed. ... I’m currently going through multiple channels to get a resolution but have been without my vacuum for a week so far. Just destroying their reliability if u ask me. Buy new."

"tech support and warranty tends to be shit"

"I have an X40, which I wouldn’t recommend for carpet owners even with the tricut brush."

"The extending side brush isnt perfect either i was pretty dissappointed since it kept missing some corners."

"Poor performance while vacuum, brush wasn’t lowering enough. Somehow I made the robot calibrate. All good now."

"My 2000pa wyze robot vacuum has much better hard floor pickup performance than my 12000pa Dreame x40."

"Out of the two Dreame models you asked about, I'd go with the X50 if its superior vacuuming and fur cleaning you're looking for. ... X40 isn't a bad machine at all, but for medium carpets with dog fur shedding, I'd go X50 and be happy with the purchase the first time around rather than wishing I had went with the other model."

r/RobotVacuumsDreame Acqua 10, expensive product or alpha test? There are big problems here.

I have the very same issue in the kitchen. I had a X40 pro and it was already not the best. But the aqua roller is worse! I tried ten days and really gave it a chance. But I really don’t see one single reason for keeping it. Very disappointing

Same here. Really happy for each of the features.

r/RobotVacuumsAre roller mops the only sensible choice now?

I tried the aqua 10 roller and I was surprised by the results. In a bad way. My guess is that there is not enough pressure on the floor with this system. The robot is not heavy enough and the result is really less than average. As comparison I also have the X40 from Dreame and it is way more efficient. I sent the aqua 10 back.

r/askSingaporeHas anyone bought a robot vac from China and used them successfully in SG?

i advise you don't do it. i bought a dreame X40 pro plus and it is region locked. i had to subscribe to some russian guy and speak to him via translator to bypass the region lock, at the same time needing a china number. Plus the issue of warranty. robots spoil often coz it's used daily. especially the battery. i had to break the robot up to fix it myself a few times already. not forgetting, once u use the china server in app, i cant see my other device in my dreame singapore version for my vacuum mop at the same time. and it's always a constant race to beat dreame at their game before they block again in the future, ill just get the global version. also, it's blocked again now and im just lazy to bypass already. so luckily i have scheduled already set up and at least it can be voice controlled via CHINESE.. so language is another issue

r/RobotVacuumsAnyone have a robovac they'd recommend for elderly users?

The new Dreame X50 autowash dock has had great praise, with people saying it effectively cleans itself and you will never have to maintain it outside of emptying the tray that catches larger debris. The x50 also can clear the thresholds supposedly. There is also the master version or even the ultra with the pipe hookups, then the only real maintenance will be the dust bag and the cleaning solution bottle. Then a weekly maybe even a monthly maintenance on it will likely suffice. I have a robovac that was released 3 years ago, and has voice commands, alongside scheduling, remote operation through the app, over the internet live video feed and control, voice calling through the robovac itself. Plenty of tools and features to help OP in their situation, and that is a much older model at this point

r/Dreame_Techshould I get a dreame or roborock - ecovacs disapointed me hard
19 days ago

Similar experience here (also AU) - I has the X40 Ultra worked perfectly for 17 months and then just died entirely. Sent in for servicing got it back and it was "fixed" in that it would now turn on and the motors worked but other than that it was still useless as it couldn't even complete a mapping run. Dreame wanted to have another go at fixing it but I refused as their service centre is obviously incompetent (I'd have at least expect them to test it after "fixing" it). Anyway, the robot's on it's way back to them and I'm now waiting on a refund. I bought directly from Dreame.

r/Dreame_TechDifference between Dreame robovac models?

My X40 worked perfectly for 17 months and then died (like totally died - it wouldn't do anything). It went back for servicing and when I got it back at least its motors would work - but it couldn't navigate at all - I couldn't use it as it couldn't complete a map. And the amount of effort it took me to get them to accept it back for servicing in the first place was ridiculous. I'm sure the first 2 or even 3 replies you get are from bots regurgitating stock "try this & try this" steps. I'm currently at 6 weeks waiting for a solution.

r/Dreame_TechChoosing the right Dreame for my house
about 1 month ago

Just don't. At all. Get some other brand instead. I was happy with my X40 for 18 months until it completely broke down, sent it back to be fixed (they wanted the entire thing - dock & all), finally got it back and it still didn't work. I'm now attempting to get a refund as I don't even want it anymore.

My X40 made it to 17 months. Never buying Dreame again after suffering through their "support" process.

r/RobotVacuumsDo mopping robots really replace daily cleaning, or do you still ended up cleaning yourself?

Dreame X40 Ultra here, had it since moving into new house with all hardwood floors and we have not mopped or vacuumed once since. We run it every night (two story house so we run it when we are asleep) have set it up to go daily with a mixture of deep clean, vacuum then mop and fast cleaning throughout the week. The only extra we do is occasionally use the swifter microfibres sweeper to dust behind the couch and around the side board to get any dust out so that Meryl can pick it up (our vacuum is called Meryl Sweep). 100% recommend. Caveat, no kids no pets unless you count the fish tanks.

r/RobotVacuumsHelp me choose: Narwal Freo Z Ultra vs. Roborock S8 MaxV vs. Dreame X40 Ultra.

this is easy! Freo Z uses too much water, you have to refill it ALL THE TIME. hard pass. Dreame x40 is.. good... but not great. The S8 MaxV Ultra is truly great.

I did. I thought the x50 was a nice upgrade, but the x40 was ok.

r/RobotVacuumsI write about robot vacuums for a living. AMA.

I am often surprised, and offended at how much difference there is in premium robots (which is what I tend to test, rather than budget or midrange). You should expect, if you pay that much, for a robot to work. This problem is much worse in lawnbots, but there is no condition under which I would purchase a Roomba or Eufy on purpose. Doesn't matter what model. I'm most impressed by Roborock, Dreame and Ecovacs. That said, each model is different. For instance, I thought the X40 was just fine. Didn't blow me out of the water. But I think the X50 is quite good, although it still has some navigation issues. I haven't tested the Monsga line, sorry.

r/RobotVacuumsMid-high tier robot vacuum needed (with ability to mop)

Recently got a Dreame X40 Ultra, it’s pretty nice. Can’t think of anything else I’d need from a vacuum. I just change the water containers; liquid detergent usage is pretty minimal so it’ll last months. Love that the mops are detachable magnetic pads instead of the velcro type and it automatically washes & dries them at the base station

Might be a dumb question, but have you checked eBay for refurbished stuff? They have a dreame x40 ultra there that is now down to $320 with a two year warranty still... We bought two of them when they were $350 and are pretty happy, floors are noticeably cleaner, mops well, and no fur clogs with 3 cats.

I purchased a refurbished Dreame X40 Ultra from eBay. It’s been super solid. I just got the tricut brush to see if I can get a little bit better performance on carpet with our shedding dogs.

r/RobotVacuumsLong hair friendly Auto Vacuum?

I live in a one bedroom NYC apartment with wood, tile and low pile carpet. I have 2 dogs who shed constantly and a beautiful wife who also sheds constantly. I previously had an X 40 ultra. It was constantly getting tangled, even with the tri cut brush. Plus, after a few months it really just wasn’t picking up debris. Even though I serviced the filters, base station etc. So far with the L50 I haven’t had any of those issues. The only real complaint I have is the battery life and its navigation/map took a few weeks to really dial in with my apartment.

I’ve got a Dreame x40, and my sister in law has a Dreame l30. We’re both super happy with them.
