altChubAus 1.0Dreame X40 Ultra here, had it since moving into new house with all hardwood floors and we have not mopped or vacuumed once since. We run it every night (two story house so we run it when we are asleep) have set it up to go daily with a mixture of deep clean, vacuum then mop and fast cleaning throughout the week. The only extra we do is occasionally use the swifter microfibres sweeper to dust behind the couch and around the side board to get any dust out so that Meryl can pick it up (our vacuum is called Meryl Sweep). 100% recommend. Caveat, no kids no pets unless you count the fish tanks.
amandainpdx 1.0this is easy! Freo Z uses too much water, you have to refill it ALL THE TIME. hard pass. Dreame x40 is.. good... but not great. The S8 MaxV Ultra is truly great.
I did. I thought the x50 was a nice upgrade, but the x40 was ok.
I am often surprised, and offended at how much difference there is in premium robots (which is what I tend to test, rather than budget or midrange). You should expect, if you pay that much, for a robot to work. This problem is much worse in lawnbots, but there is no condition under which I would purchase a Roomba or Eufy on purpose. Doesn't matter what model. I'm most impressed by Roborock, Dreame and Ecovacs. That said, each model is different. For instance, I thought the X40 was just fine. Didn't blow me out of the water. But I think the X50 is quite good, although it still has some navigation issues. I haven't tested the Monsga line, sorry.
antei_ku 1.0Recently got a Dreame X40 Ultra, it’s pretty nice. Can’t think of anything else I’d need from a vacuum. I just change the water containers; liquid detergent usage is pretty minimal so it’ll last months. Love that the mops are detachable magnetic pads instead of the velcro type and it automatically washes & dries them at the base station

I have a Dreame X40 ultra. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 sheddy dogs and it does an ok job on carpet and a pretty good job on hardwood. I bought it refurbished on Amazon for around $700
I just got an eBay refurbished X40 Ultra. It has been great so far. But I don’t think any robot vacuum can truly replace a handheld vacuum/mop. I tend to think of these as a nice maintenance option to keep the dust bunnies and grime down. But I will still be doing semi regular vacuuming and mopping by hand.

I had an x40 ultra that got warranty refunded. I’m in my first week with my L50 ultra and I’m cautiously optimistic. After a few days fiddling with settings it is operating how I would like it and doing a decent job of it. It does have the hardware for matter but is not “yet” supported. The only negative I have so far is that it’s battery life is atrocious.
I’m about a month in with my L50 Ultra. I’m in a 750 SF NYC apartment with wood floors, tile and 3 low pile area rugs, 2 sheddy dogs and a sheddy (beautiful) wife. After reading this post I just flipped my bot over for the first time to check the brush. ZERO tangling. It does fantastic on the hardwood/tile and I would say it’s very very respectable for the carpet. I upgraded after an X40 Ultra had a fatal error and am much happier with this unit than the X40 Edit: the “hair compaction” feature in the base station also seems to be quite effective.

I live in a one bedroom NYC apartment with wood, tile and low pile carpet. I have 2 dogs who shed constantly and a beautiful wife who also sheds constantly. I previously had an X 40 ultra. It was constantly getting tangled, even with the tri cut brush. Plus, after a few months it really just wasn’t picking up debris. Even though I serviced the filters, base station etc. So far with the L50 I haven’t had any of those issues. The only real complaint I have is the battery life and its navigation/map took a few weeks to really dial in with my apartment.
I’ve got a Dreame x40, and my sister in law has a Dreame l30. We’re both super happy with them.
BlackWolf-359 1.0I just shipped out my x40 they offered me a x50 refirb but i said no. I'm done with dreame and mova is just another division of them. Looking a roborock revo curvx, narwel flow or the ecovac deebot x11 but thier t50 pro max is coming highly recommended with dog hair. still looking

Roborock saros 10r top of our list Eufy E25 2nd this is already at BF pricing according to eufy Dreame/mova same company and had x40 returned it Narwal not seeing the fantastic reviews from individuals and the onboard bin might be too small for 2000sqft home with 2 shepherds even with daily vac JMHO
Hated dog hair the bin is small and it had no option to go back any faster to the base to empty so it would just push piles of hair around till the algorithm told it to go back and empty but it would never retouch the pile it left. they kept telling me to select a function that was not in my menu. so they took it back took months but its gone. and service is 1 email a day after they answer the phone on first ring so one problem will take a week to sort out and they dont want to call you back, just email there comes in around 2 am yours goes back at around 9am and then wait
If you have the gift card, I dont have one but dont want the e25, Im looking at the mova z60, I just dont want the experience we had with the dreame x40 pushing dog hair around and never really picking it up. we have the bot run everyday a little over half the house twice a week and the main are daily with 2 german shedders well you get it
Sounds like its the one, my x40 never got an update to make it empty more often
BootyBounce123 1.0I have the S1 Pro. It would do a much better job then the X40 regarding mopping and have navigation that's at least as good. But the X40 as a massive edge in corner cleaning and vacuuming on carpet.
