"The X40 is so far ahead in the object avoidance realm that it's not even a contest. ... I have my Dreame X40 running at midnight every day and never have to worry about it getting stuck on something or caught on something because it's object avoidance works so well, even in the dark and on all surfaces. ... It stays clear of cat toys, cords, socks, paper towels and all sorts of random household junk. ... the fact that I can run the Dreame daily will keep my house cleaner."
"significantly worse object avoidance than than the Dreame x40 and L40 ... The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."
"identified obstacles well. ... It never got stuck. ... Never sucked up a sock, pen or tissue. ... the AI was awesome."

"The vacuuming is really good at picking up all dog hair (4 dogs, 2 of which are huskies)."
"Twin rollers are a bit nicer if you’ve got pets that shed a ton ... Twin rollers are genuinely helpful for pets. They grab more hair and are less prone to tangles compared to the single roller, so that’s the biggest dog-owner benefit."
"Dreame/Mova have exceptional object avoidance combined with excellent cleaning on carpets and hard floors."

"I can basically always trust my X40 to finish a midnight cleaning session in the dark and wake up to find it sitting in its dock and have clean floors in the morning."
"I think its hands down the best all around option right now, especially once you hook it up to the water line and drain, i run it daily in our house and we got rid of our cleaning help because of it."
"the magnetic self cleaning mop pads have been a game changer. ... I’ll send the little robot to vacuum the entire house then it picks up mop pads once it’s done and there’s been no water smearing on carpet"

"Each vacuum can clean each of my floors on max suction ~750sqft without having to stop and charge and each finishes in around 1-1.5 hours."
"Will probably need 2 runs if you put it on max suction, it does my 850 sqf mostly carpeted floor with 40% battery to spare on max."
"battery life holds up very well for a 200m² house"

"I've got a Dreame X40 specifically because it's supported by Valetudo. (Local only cloud replacement so you can use most of the features of the robot without needing any cloud services."

"I’m actually hoping the new Dreams firmware that allows the side brush on carpet rolls out soon. If it doesn’t, I think I’ll be disappointed because of have several area rugs that are close to walls that will not clean well without it. ... Really hoping firmware is released in the US soon for the X40 to allow the side brush on carpet. I’ll probably return it if it doesn’t because I think it I’ll reduce its effectiveness on my kitchen floors."
"Yes. It does not spin on Carpet which is the same as Dreame. Dreame however 9 months later implemented the ability to spin the brush on carpet if you wanted to via the app. ... Dreame, meanwhile, it took nearly a year to enable side brush spinning on carpets, and Roborock now faces pressure to implement similar improvements."
"side brush not spinning on carpets ... Also the lack of side brush on carpet is a bit annoying. ... They have had almost a year to implement the brush on carpet feature which the L40 for some reason has now but the X40 still doesn't have."

"Dreame's support was so bad that I didn't even bother getting a new one, just wanted a refund. ... their support made me jump through massive hoops, spanning nearly 3 weeks, in order to get, what was initially just a replacement... but it was such a nightmare I ended to just telling them I wanted a refund, I didn't want the replacement anymore."
"Dreame customer service sucks. ... I have feeling no 1 over there understand basic English or the translation app they use is joke. ... Never buying that crap again. This was my 2nd X40 purchase for my parents."
"Support was slow as fuck too. ... They would response once per day to my email even if I replied instantly. ... They created a shipping label, but I said fuick that I'd rather return it to Amazon and buy this roborock vacuum instead of waiting around for the robot to get to them, they look at it for weeks, then send it back to me saying they didn't find a problem."

"stopped doing edges ... each week it got worse at navigation, essentially only doing half rooms ... stopped sweeping and mopping anywhere it transitioned from rug to floor ... It would leave 2 ft circumference around every rug unswept which was horrible near dog doors and the rug in front of them (main reason I got vacuum!) ... But was not willing to deal with it stopping sweeping the entire floor. ... It was glitching out around edges"
"It is dangerous to trust it if you have a risk for pet accidents."
"because it thinks my rubber anti-fatigue kitchen mats are a cliff so it gets stuck on the mats (something my cheaper robot vacuums with Cliff sensors never had issues with) ... a common rubber kitchen mat that other robot vacuums have no issues with should be easy for a $1000+ robot. ... it's Cliff sensors are over sensitive and prevent my X40 from properly cleaning my kitchen with it getting up onto my anti-fatigue rubber rubber mats and then getting stuck on them since it thinks the edges are a cliff."

"The tricut brush which you can purchase and install does a excellent job preventing hair wrap but I have found it is significantly less effective on hard floors. ... It seems to do fine in most cases but I did notice the robot fails to pick up medium sized debris like cat treats. ... Yesterday I did some drywall patching and had some drywall chunks and pieces for the robot to pickup and the tricut brush just pushed the debris around and accumulated it in the brush guard failing to push it into the dustbin. ... It would appear to pick it up but when the robot turned around all the debris would be left at the spot where the robot turned."
"It would leave rolled up hair everywhere since day one"
"My 2000pa wyze robot vacuum has much better hard floor pickup performance than my 12000pa Dreame x40."
If you have hardwood flooring, get Eufy S1 Pro (best mopping device. No other vacuum is remotely close) If you have some carpets, get Dreame x40 Ultra (edge cleaning and mopping)
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vaccum and mop ->I own x40 and s1 pro Eufy has excellent support. Dreame are ok it seems sometimes they don't understand what we are trying to say. I can be wrong, but it feels like they use Google Translate to reply to emails. They have better overall product 🙂 S1 Pro is best if you don't have carpets.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame x40 is currently the best vacuum out there. ->Eufy has excellent customer service. They sent me replacement parts for S1 Pro and took a follow-up 2 times to make sure all was working fine. Dreame customer service sucks. I have feeling no 1 over there understand basic English or the translation app they use is joke. I was able to dispute the situation with my credit card and got a refund for $1800. Never buying that crap again. This was my 2nd X40 purchase for my parents.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame is a scam ->That would make it non returnable sadly. Weird how it get scratches so easily though because my X40 Ultra has zero scratches after months.
r/Dreame_Tech • L40s Pro Ultra is absolute disaster on Carpet. ->I purchased a refurbished Dreame X40 Ultra from eBay. It’s been super solid. I just got the tricut brush to see if I can get a little bit better performance on carpet with our shedding dogs.
r/homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Recommendations Today for Busy Folks? ->I’ve got a Dreame x40, and my sister in law has a Dreame l30. We’re both super happy with them.
r/RobotVacuums • Need help choosing between 3 robo vac/mops. ->I have a Dreame X40 ultra. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 sheddy dogs and it does an ok job on carpet and a pretty good job on hardwood. I bought it refurbished on Amazon for around $700
r/smarthome • What is the Best Robot Vacuum that Homeowners absolutely love and recommend? ->I just got an eBay refurbished X40 Ultra. It has been great so far. But I don’t think any robot vacuum can truly replace a handheld vacuum/mop. I tend to think of these as a nice maintenance option to keep the dust bunnies and grime down. But I will still be doing semi regular vacuuming and mopping by hand.
r/RobotVacuums • Is there a robovac that excels both in vacuuming and mopping? ->I’m happy with my X40 Ultra. I got it refurbished from EBay
r/RobotVacuums • What is the best Edge Cleaning Robot Vaccuum? ->I have the X40 Ultra and really enjoy it.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one of these 3? ->My home is a mix of hard floors and rugs. Last week, on a whim, I got the Shark PowerDetect 2in1 (vac and mop) from Amazon for £477. I was impressed with the cleaning power of it but had to send it back because I was unable to get it to clean under my sofa or up to the kickboards in my kitchen. I would have kept it if it wasn’t for that. Today I got a Dreame X40 Ultra Complete for £699 as I did my research this time and have found it to be a lot better suited to me and totally covered what was missing from the Shark.
r/RobotVacuums • Suggestions for UK robot vacuum cleaner for wooden floors around £400 ->Hello, I may be a bit late to the conversation but figured I'd throw my hat in the ring anyway. I think for your needs, the Dreame X40 Ultra would be a great fit. It has great customizable mopping for your tile, has sensors specifically made for rugs if you'd like the robot to avoid cleaning them or clean them better. The battery life is substantial enough as well to handle the area you are needing cleaned as well, and the best part is the X40 Ultra is definitely competitively priced considering its features, and you can get the best price by ordering from physical stores that ship free across the U.S. Hopefully this was a little helpful and you can make the best decision for your home, thanks for taking the time to read and happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Seeking Robot Vacuum Recommendations for 2,000 sq ft Tile Home ($500–$750 Budget) ->Hello, glad you're looking for a new RVC. If I could recommend one that would be similar to the N30 model you were thinking about at purchasing, I would look at the Dreame X40 Ultra. I know I'm a little biased, but, from personal use and going out to people's homes, the X40 is a great machine for the current price to feature set you're getting out of it. The X40 Ultra will have a good LiDar scanner that constantly maps your home as it explores, has 3d structured lights which help it avoid or detect objects and has good mopping/sweeping functions that clean corners fairly well. Battery life is great as well so it can cover a fairly large area before needing to recharge, and when it comes to setting up schedules/zones, that can all be customized to your liking in the app. you specify you need zone mapping and scheduled cleaning for specific zones which you can most definitely program. for example: if you'd like room 1 and room 4 to only be vacuumed at 4pm but not room 2 and 5 then yes you can do this. very customizable cleans as well, so you can set strength of suction and wetness of mopping. it's worth looking into, especially if you live in the US, as the physical stores ship for free and have the better pricing/promos than online. For the price it's hard to find a better deal. hopefully this helps a little and if you're in need of more info feel free to reach out. Happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Need RoboVac Recommendation Budget up to 700usd ->Hello, for what you're looking for as far as features and budget goes I'd recommend the Dreame X40 Ultra and the Dreame X50 Ultra. these models have great suction and capability when it comes to cleaning up hair and mopping on vinyl surfaces as well. The X40 Ultra will be the more budget friendly model of the 2 at a $499.99 price tag, which is still solid value for the features the X40 has. The X50 Ultra will definitely be the more expensive of the 2 with a $1200 price tag before tax, which if you don't mind paying for dual brush cleaning, faster self charging base and self cleaning dryboard than I think it's also a solid contender. I know this post was from a few days ago but still wanted to give my two sense on the matter and hopefully this helps you with your search, happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Advice, best mop/vacuum combo ->Out of the two Dreame models you asked about, I'd go with the X50 if its superior vacuuming and fur cleaning you're looking for. It will have duo brushes to agitate and pick up better when vacuuming and better overall suction to pick up more debris on a single pass through. X40 isn't a bad machine at all, but for medium carpets with dog fur shedding, I'd go X50 and be happy with the purchase the first time around rather than wishing I had went with the other model. The Mova will be similar in terms of build to the X40 so I wouldn't go that route, plus they get you 3 years of warranty versus 5 yrs on the Dreame. Roborock will be the next best one when comparing it to the X50, they'll have similar sensors for objects and quality of life features such as voice control and self cleaning, the Roborock just costs a bit more but will be similar overall, so if it were me choosing between the 4 models, X50 is an easy choice. Hope this helps, Happy Hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Medium pile carpet with dogs ->Hello, glad you're looking for a new robot vacuum, for the price to performance ratio a comparable Dreame model would be an X40 Ultra which in my opinion is a great vacuum for the price, its suction power is similar to the narwal as well as mapping capability but at a better value. I think it's worth looking into. likewise if you want a Dreame in the budget of $1000 you're looking for, the X50 Ultra is an easy sell right now since it went on sale recently, better suction, fast charging and self-cleaning dry board are all great quality of life features worth the upgrade. hope this helps a bit, and happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Robovaccum + mop suggestion ->Hello, If you're looking for something that's great for pet hair, has great battery and sensors for carpets/rugs as well, I'd suggest going for either the L40 Ultra and the X40 Ultra models from Dreame. Both will come free with Cutting Brushes that are designed with fur/hair in mind, and they also have strong suction for cleaning carpets/rugs as well. They don't break the bank either, with current physical store promotions, hope this helps narrow down the search, and happy hunting!
r/RobotVacuums • Here it goes again ->the mopping portion in my opinion is definitely worth it, considering most models that come with mopping also come with other convenience features beyond just mopping that justify a higher price. Even so, just because you can find good RVC's at a premium doesn't mean you have to pay a premium, the DREAMME X40 Ultra and L40 Ultra are great examples of RVC's that give you good quality of life features and can be had for a better price than the model you we're looking at.
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum and mop combo ->X40 Ultra is a great option, not sure what your budget is, but it is Dreames flagship model from last year and is currently being sold for a great price. It's a fantastic buy for the price as it has good suction, battery and some good sensors for obstacle avoidance and mapping. If it is in your budget, it is definitely worth the purchase.
r/RobotVacuums • Affordable options for robot vacuums ->Well said. I’ve tried a few of the pricier ones and just bought a Dreame l40 ultra as my “budget” option to compare. While I think the pricier ones are a bit better in performance (in some ways, not all) it just feels silly spending $800+ on a machine whose features will be dated in just a couple years. I mean just take the Dreame x40 ultra for example. Last year they sold new at $1900. Now you can get one for around $500. And You cannot beat the value of the l40 ultra or Mova p10 pro ultra. I think it’s the perfect robot for most peoples needs.
r/RobotVacuums • If money wasn’t an issue, what’s the best robot vacuum right now? ->I didn’t like the e28. I have been living with it for a couple weeks now and it’s going back. And also that’s why I feel it’s not worth buying a flagship robot vac at these prices rn. The tech is progressing very quickly and in just a couple years, current tech will be old news and a lot of these performance issues will be much better. I ended up buying a refurbished Dreame x40 ultra [on eBay direct from Dreame for $399](https://ebay.us/m/eFO7eZ). I mean even that vacuum released at $1900 just a year ago.. not worth these high prices for new robots with questionable performance.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Saros 10R: very poor first impression + what's up with the general state of the robot vacuum market? ->Hey how is yours working? I ordered the exact same one and maybe mine is a dud but it keeps going in circles with no rhyme or reason. It’s also registering carpets when there are no carpets there.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum/mop combo in the $500-$1000USD range? ->https://preview.redd.it/ir2p70uf2pdf1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be61fffb3907b4bb49943e1e3b83231a85037872 Ya I think mine needed more testing during its refurbishment lol
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum/mop combo in the $500-$1000USD range? ->Check out the Roborock q5 max+ Now this is a bit over budget, but Dreame has a refurbished store on eBay and was selling the x40 ultra refurbished for $399 last week. Just bought one the other day. Looks like they’re out of stock but I wouldn’t be surprised if they get more in if you keep an eye out. They also have the [l40 ultra for $449](https://ebay.us/m/UROL86) rn. You will not beat that value and performance at that price. Just wanted to point it out in case you have some wiggle room as you get better vacuuming, self refill and emptying mopping, plus cleans its own mop pads.
r/RobotVacuums • affordable robot vacuums for hair collection in my apartment? ->The x40 that I bought was refurbished and had wonky navigation so I sent it back, but bought a new l40 ultra and I really like it. The navigation is pretty good and object avoidance has been pretty solid too. Is it perfect? No. And the T80 is probably still a bit better at mopping. But it was good enough for me to realize that it wasn’t worth paying the extra money for the T80 or e28. So both of them got sent back and I kept the l40 ultra. As for the Mova v50, I have it sitting in its box still in my house as I decided I’m going to send it back for the fact that I don’t feel it’s worth me spending twice the price as the l40 ultra for what is likely marginal performance gains. Don’t get me wrong I am sure it is better, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the robot vac tech is just moving so quickly that spending money on a premium robot whose features will be dated in just a couple years wasn’t a good idea. So I’m happy with the performance of the l40 ultra and will be keeping that one.
r/RobotVacuums • Impressed with Deebot T80 Omni and comparison to Eufy E25 ->Dreame was selling refurbished x40’s on eBay for $399 the other day. Such a killer deal I had to snag one.
r/RobotVacuums • Amanda, Amanda, Amanda!! The Dreame L40 is amazing!! ->There are much better robots you can buy at the same price or lower. There is the dreame x40 ultra for £1099 which will greatly outperform the deebot x5 pro. It has hot water mop cleaning, tangle free vacuuming with the TriCut brush, and good mopping. Dreame robots have the best edge cleaning out of all the brands. There is the dreame l40 ultra for £849, a much better deal as it is essentially the same as the Dreame x40 ultra except for battery life. Since you didn’t mention having a pet, I think the best value choice is the dreame L10s ultra Gen 2 (£549). Also tangle free vacuuming with the TriCut brush, strong all-around performance, but no hot water mop washing. Just take care of your cables and it’ll do well.
r/RobotVacuums • Help Choosing a Robot Vacuum – DEEBOT X5 Pro vs T30 Omni & Best Value Options ->How tall are the thresholds? Most can handle 2cm with no issue but only the x40 ultra (24mm) and the QRevo Curv/Edge (30mm for a single threshold, 40mm for two consecutive thresholds that are 30mm +10mm) handle higher. Otherwise, you’d have to use a ramp
r/RobotVacuums • Best mop vacuum in the market for hardwood ->Generally: Dreame will have the best edge cleaning. This is on the x30 ultra and newer with the L/X40 ultra and newer models having an extendable side brush with the best extension algorithm right now. Mop extension lacks a spring which means it can ride up on quarter round floor moldings if your home has any. Roborock Saros 10R and the QRevo Edge/Curv are nice choices if there are no cables or pet accidents for it to eat. Narwal is a very solid option. The Freo Z ultra has the best smart cleaning mode. It’s okay taking care of things like hair and visible dust but still isn’t as good as vacuuming as it is at mopping. Eufy s1 pro is a very solid mopping option. Won’t edge clean as well as the above models but mops pretty well.
r/RobotVacuums • Best mop vacuum in the market for hardwood ->Best model for 2025 release in the US is probably Dreame’s X50 Ultra as it seems to best meet all your needs. Currently, I do not think any current models will sufficiently meet your requirements as the current models have some drawback in the requirement you have mentioned. Dreame X/L40 Ultra compared to X50 Compared to the X50 Ultra: Double brush system has worked much better on carpets than with the TriCut brush. Both approaches perform just as well on hard floors. Dreame’s X50 Ultra’s double brush performs better on carpet. For some reason, the bristle brushes on all the older models (rubber and bristle combo brush and the TriCut brush) liked to eat some of the fiber on my low pile densely packed carpet. I’m not sure if this is universally applicable to all carpets as I haven’t seen other people report this issue. However the second bristle and rubber combo brush on the X50 Ultra did not do any of that on my carpet. It can’t clean its own filter like the X50 and the X50’s AceClean mop cleaning system with water jets are much better at self cleaning the washboard than the X40 Ultra’s washboard with wipers. The X40 washboard also has some difficult to clean areas and little nooks and crannies that I didn’t really like cleaning If you have furniture with low clearance (under 10cm): the X40 cannot make it under there whereas the x50’s retracting lidar can. If you have high thresholds above 24mm, you’d appreciate the Dreame’s new threshold climbing legs No ability to compress the fur in the dust box while it is vacuuming to maximize the use of the dustbin volume. Roborock’s obstacle avoidance isn’t as good as dreame.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum and Mop to Buy with Good Suction? ->Currently available in the market and is a general all rounder for both vacuuming and mopping with good anti-tangling: dreame X/L40 Ultra, Roborock QRevo Curv/Edge, Dreame’s subbrand MOVA P10 Pro Ultra if lack of mop removal isn’t an issue and is the cheapest at 659 USD. To be released in a month: Dreame X50 Ultra with the best mop washboard self-cleaning system (preorders are open to purchase it for 1309), Roborock Saros 10R (February release, no preorders) To be released within the first half of 2025 in the US: MOVA V50S Ultra (little is known but I am hopeful), MOVA Z50 Ultra (most is known and it seems to have X40 ultra level vacuuming but much better mopping), Narwal Flow (excited about this one but no reviews anywhere)
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum/mop combo for long haired dogs (samoyed) ->There is the dreame L/X40 Ultra with the TriCut brush or the Roborock Edge/Curv which I think will be similar in terms of all-around vacuuming and mopping while having good anti-tangling. The Dreame will have better edge cleaning if that is what you’re after but the roborock will have a simpler ui.
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum/mop combo for long haired dogs (samoyed) ->Bald dogs 😂 You asked this at just the right time when anti-tangling tech has essentially matured in robot vacuums. Dreame (DuoStream or TriCut brush), Narwal (conical brush), and roborock (DuoDivide) offer great antitangling solutions for their main and side brush. It’s become cheaper too as this feature has matured.
r/RobotVacuums • Dog hair and the robot vacuum ->I know dreame allows you to add ramps in the app for the x40 ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot Vacuum Mop Combo Recommendations for Split Level Apartment ->For Eufy, I'd say only the S1 Pro is really good at obstacle avoidance. Eufy's strengths are its customer service and the good mopping in this model. It could be better for vacuuming. For Narwal, I'd say only the Freo Z Ultra is really good at obstacle avoidance. Vacuuming is a weak spot for Narwal as they focus more on mopping. For Dreame, the L/X40 Ultra would be the best at obstacle avoidance, with the X30 Ultra following it. Dreame is also a good all-rounder in cleaning but lags behind Roborock. Dreame excels with edge and corner cleaning. These three brands' models should be the leaders in obstacle avoidance.
r/Roborock • Qrevo Master/Pro obstacle avoidance is extremely sub par ->These models are basically the same except for the mop removal feature. Same with the X40 ultra and the X50 Ultra but it’s also rated differently?
r/RobotVacuums • [Early Look] MOVA P10 Pro Ultra - The New Value Champion! (Vacuum Wars Preview) ->Please don’t believe his numbers. The L40, X40, and the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra have essentially the same mopping system but the test values are very different.
r/RobotVacuums • [Early Look] MOVA P10 Pro Ultra - The New Value Champion! (Vacuum Wars Preview) ->I like how Jamie Andrews tests aspects that are advertised for quality of life (self cleaning the dock and using hot water) whereas vacuumwars simply rattles them off like a sales brief checklist. I can confirm Dreame does reach the advertised hot water temperature listed (I tested myself with an electric thermometer connected to the area on the washboard where the water would flow from the pipes) and it usually hovers at about 5-10°C below the advertised temperature before reaching it for a second or two. Don’t know about the new AceClean dock as I don’t have it but Dreame told me any misplacement of the temperature probes will result in measuring errors of more than 10°C.
r/RobotVacuums • How do we feel about Vacuum Wars ratings? ->If you compare the Narwal Freo Z Ultra (FZU) to the Dreame X40 Ultra (X40), you'll notice the obstacle avoidance strategy is different. Because the FZU has stereoscopic cameras, it can simulate human binocular vision to create a better 3D image compared to just one RGB camera on the X40. In the real world, I noticed a lot of Korean netizens talking about Dreame's 'back-walking' where it needs to go backward to gauge the distance and the size of an object or obstacle better to compensate for the single RGB camera, whereas some who own both, note that the FZU doesn't have this phenomenon when dealing with the same objects or obstacles which I think is due to the stereoscopic RGB cameras and hence can clean closer to wires. Of course, FZU's approach means it really needs to rely on those AI chips (they use two as it was likely the most cost-effective solution) to process what the cameras are giving back. I am not very familiar with the S1 Pro, but I thought the 3D Matrix eye was a 3D dToF sensor that uses infrared light like the StarSight sensor array on the Roborock Saros line as their product brief said, "Equipped with active binocular infrared imaging technology, it mimics human vision and creates real-time, colored 3D models which precisely identify various objects... 300k voxels". I do think an RGB camera will help augment possible weaknesses with just 3D dToF when it comes to identifying if a pet "gift" really is a pet "gift" or a loose chair leg protector but that comes with its own privacy and security concerns\~
r/RobotVacuums • Why does S1 Pro mop better than other robot vacuums? ->Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.
r/RobotVacuums • Choosing a car was easier than choosing a robot vacuum ->Since you mentioned your mother having pains, I’d recommend a very hands off model where it’ll clean itself. Out of the models you mentioned, the dreame x40 ultra will be the best. Set it to vacuum first then mop and the mop pad cleaning tray will be relatively clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot Vacuum Suggestion! ->Roborock isn’t as good as other brands when it comes to poop avoidance. Dreame, Eufy S1 pro, and Narwal are much better at this. MOVA is a subbrand of dreame. Narwhal Freo Z ultra Narwal flow should be better for carpets though but the lack of any hair tangle measures on the mop is an issue considering how the MOVA Z50 Ultra which mops great and works great with long hair with similar poop avoidance performance has combs to help with hair tangles on the mop. Eufy also doesn’t have very good carpet cleaning and as good edge cleaning compared to the previous two An all rounder should be the dreame X50 Ultra for fur compression if there are heavy shedders or the dreame x40 ultra/ MOVA P10 Pro Ultra if the main issue is mainly just long hair.
r/RobotVacuums • Vac+Mop-Poop ->This is definitely not exclusive on the ecovacs X9 pro omni. Ecovacs is late to this feature. Models that can do this well: Dreame’s L/X40 Ultra and newer (assuming there’s an RGB camera), Narwal Freo Z Ultra; Roborock Saros series and CurvX, MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, P50 Pro Ultra, Z50 Ultra, V50 Ultra
r/RobotVacuums • Robot Vac/mop sensing feature? ->Eufy is not mentioned because it does not have this capability. Best mopping: Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra has the best raw mopping performance. If your pets are stinky, the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track or the MOVA V50 Ultra will be my recommendation as it has the duosolution detergent tank which means it can use a special odor neutralizing solution or your regular floor cleaning solution based on your preferences set in the app. The MOVA V50 Ultra does mop better than the Dreame X50 Ultra because it can spin its mops up to 260rpm when it detects dried on stains and liquids and because it has a new mop pad holder that basically has suspension as it can go up 2mm and down 1mm downwards and tilt up to 5° to put as even pressure as possible on uneven floors. Honorable mention: Narwal Freo Z Ultra. Shame it cannot lift its side brushes. Variable mopping pressure of 8-12N but pales in comparison to the 18N of mopping pressure by the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra. Best software for detecting liquids and appropriately dealing with them: Dreame L/X40 and newer including the Aqua 10 pro track based on reviews. The MOVA Z50 ultra and the other MOVA models mentioned are also pretty good too at detecting liquids. Previously mentioned Roborock and Narwal models also seem to do well. I think all the models I mentioned should be on par for automatic remopping. Hardware: All models I mentioned should have a solid build quality.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot Vac/mop sensing feature? ->It depends on tall your thresholds are: For single thresholds: Up to 2cm: most modern robots can cross with no difficulty Up to 2.2cm: Dreame L/X40 Ultra. The dreame models with the EasyLeap wheels (L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra and the L50 Ultra) can cross the first threshold up to 2.2cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1.8cm Up to 3cm: roborock models with the AdaptLift chassis. It can cross a single threshold up to 3cm and a secondary threshold right after up to 1cm. Up to 3.5cm: the MOVA P60 Pro Ultra (mainland china only for now) has active suspension like the roborock Adaptlift chassis and the EasyLeap edge climbing wheels to climb a single threshold up to 3.5cm and a secondary threshold up to 3.5cm. Up to 4.2cm: Dreame X50 Ultra, Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track, and the MOVA V50 Ultra all can cross a single threshold up to 4.2cm if the threshold is shorter than 9-10cm (5.2cm if the threshold is sufficiently long enough) and a secondary threshold up to 1.8cm.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robovac that'll cross thresholds? ->Dreame’s models from the L/X40 Ultra and newer can clean corners well, both vacuuming and mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • From Eufy S1 Pro to…? Looking for a robot that goes the extra mile to clean corners and skirting boards ->The X40 Ultra is worth it. It has smarter obstacle avoidance and good self cleaning.
r/Dreame_Tech • Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 vs X40 which one is a better buy right now? ->X40 will do best for liquid spills since it can lift the main and side brush and avoid smearing. E25 will do best for dried on stains.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot for mopping ->Both the Narwal Freo Z Ultra and the Dreame L/X40 Ultra do well avoiding cables and pet messes. Only difference is that the Dreame has to backtrack a bit for the computer to process the distance and whatnot since it only has one RGB camera but the Narwal Freo Z Ultra doesn't need to do this as it has binocular RGB cameras.
r/RobotVacuums • Best obstacle avoidance robot vacuum – Narwal Freo Z Ultra or Dreame X40 Ultra? ->X40 Ultra for better edge and corner vacuuming and mopping. E25 for better mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • X40 ultra or Eufy E25 ->The dreame L/X40 are good all around combo models. The eufy models are better suited for mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • L40, X40 or eufy e25 or eufy ->For spinning mops: Station Self cleaning: Dreame X50 Ultra > roborock Curv/Edge Saros 10R > Dreame L/X40 Ultra >≈ Ecovacs models with wipers in mop pad cleaning tray marketed as the 150 day cleaning free tray > roborock qrevo > all other dreame and ecovacs robots
r/RobotVacuums • Need Help Choosing Robot Vacuum in Singapore (Dreame vs Ecovacs vs Roborock) ->What's your home like? Is it mostly hardfloors, carpet, or a mix of both? As for obstacle avoidance, the best options are the Dreame X/L40 Ultra and newer models, the Eufy S1 Pro, and the Narwal Freo Z Ultra. Roborock won't do as well for cables. If this isn't an issue, it'll be fine too. I don't recommend the roborock Z70, the Roborock Saros 10 and the QRevo Curv would be much better choices as accommodating the arm meant the cleaning performance had to be sacrificed. For corner cleaning, Dreame is the most aggressive in terms of its algorithm. Roborock is rather shy when it comes to cleaning corners with the extending side brush. I'm not sure about Eufy's E25/E28's extending side brush, but the square shape can make it harder for it to fit into corners if the algorithm isn't optimized. The Eufy S1 Pro and the Narwal Freo Z do not have as good corner cleaning capabilties.
r/RobotVacuums • Need vacuum advice! ->The best self cleaning models can also clean the base station’s mop washboard and the vacuum’s filter. I’d recommend these ones which can do this: Currently the best at self cleaning: the MOVA V50 Ultra can dry it’s dustbin and dustbag to prevent mildew unlike the other choices which brings it above the other robots Almost there: Dreame L/X50 Ultra, L40S Ultra/Pro Ultra In the middle: MOVA P50 Pro Ultra Pretty okay at self cleaning: MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, Dreame L/X40, roborock models with the motorized scrapers, Narwal models with an all in one base station.
r/Dreame_Tech • Buy L10s Pro UH or go higher? ->All robots you've mentioned will do fine with sand. For obstacle avoidance, Dreame's l/x40 ultra > Roborock saros > Ecovacs X8. I think the Dreame l/x40 ultra is 440 and 540 in the US now.
r/RobotVacuums • help deciding which robot to buy ->Thanks for sharing! I hypothesize that the X50 Ultra's poor battery life is likely due to the more power-hungry computer chip it utilizes. My own experience with the L40s Pro Ultra (mainland Chinese version) had a *worse battery life* that struggled to finish cleaning my home whereas my much cheaper combo Xiaomi robot (also mainland Chinese version) that has the same battery capacity and is also made by Dreame would be able to vacuum first and then mop my small apartment and finish with 50%. Other reviewers have reported that the L40s Pro Ultra (non-mainland Chinese edition) had a bad battery life, just like me :( Hopefully, this issue will be fixed soon. I hope the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track doesn't suffer the same battery life issue, especially because it'll need a more powerful chip to process all the information coming from the HD binocular RGB cameras and the dot projector, and a power-efficient water heater in the robot to heat the water up.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy ->I have a Xiaomi robot made by dreame that uses the same dustbin as the X40 ultra. This is how much fur it gets every morning. https://preview.redd.it/9edw1042217f1.jpeg?width=1600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=923a84c91ae678589d54fe338015c0071d0835ed I’d recommend buying the Z50 Ultra from JB HIFI or Harvey Norman and trying the twice a day routine for a week and see if the fur in the dustbin levels out. I think the suction level above normal suction should be fine. If the robot can’t handle it, I’d change to the X50 ultra or the L40S Pro Ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame x50 vs Mova Z50 ->All rounders: Dreame L/X40 Ultra or the upcoming X50 ultra if you want it to have the AceClean dryboard which cleans the mops much better than the previous mop washboard on the L/X40 Ultra. MOVA P50 Pro Ultra which also has the AceClean dryboard (only in the EU), MOVA P10 Pro Ultra that is essentially the L40 Ultra without mop removal (seems to be limited to NA markets). For these dreame and MOVA models, use the anti-tangling TriCut brush. It either comes with it or you’ll have to get it from Taobao or AliExpress. Mopping experts: Narwal Freo Z Ultra for the best smart cleaning mode and best computer vision and obstacle avoidance, or the Freo x ultra if you’re fine without the computer vision and smart cleaning. Vacuuming is a bit weak. Upcoming: MOVA Z50 Ultra and Narwal Flow (both track type roller mops), Narwal Freo Z10 (spinning mops that can extend and swing extended mops like dreame) Eufy S1 Pro mops great but vacuuming could be better. Can’t edge or corner clean. Roborock’s side brush and mop extension algorithm could be improved in comparison to Dreame’s side brush and mop extension and NarWal’s mop extension. It can’t swing the extended mop to reach under places like your fridge. Obstacle avoidance is sadly lagging behind. But there is the Saros 10R.
r/RobotVacuums • Best premium robot for my use case? ->You mentioned that you have the x40. This model is prone to clogging with fur. The new dreame/MOVA models with fur compression do much better with fur and autoemptying. I tested the high frequency autoemptying setting and it autoempties once every 12sqm≈130sqft which is going to be more than enough. As for customer service, this is something many brands have to improve on.
r/RobotVacuums • I very strongly, STRONGLY recommend against getting a Roomba ->I’d save my money and go with a dreame L/X40 which retails from 440-680ish if you buy it from their physical store which does free mainland shipping in the us if you place an order via phone/email. You can change the mop pad holders to the flexipress ones which can tilt up to 5° and go up 2mm and down 1mm and use plush mop pads like the roborock Saros or Curv pads which are better for uneven surfaces like your textured tiled floors.
r/RobotVacuums • Best for mopping textured tile floors? ->1. Anything that moves can break. So I suggest buying from a retailer with a good return policy + a good protection plan. 2. For base station cleaning: Dreame (some models), eufy, Narwal, roborock, and Xiaomi have completely removable mop washboards. I’m not a fan of the wiper driven mop washboards on the Dreame X/L30 and X/L40 ultra and the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra simply because there’s too many nook and crannies to clean. However their new aceclean dryboard on the L/V/X50 Ultra and newer is much easier to clean even when only the filter is removable since there’s no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide in and dirt only really collects under the removable filter which is easily removed with a wet wipe or a Clorox wipe. I’d avoid bagless base stations. Spinning mop combo robots are less maintenance than roller mop robots.
r/RobotVacuums • What generally goes wrong in a vacuum+mop+cleaning robot? What to watch out for? ->I’d prioritize a robot with antitangle rollers, decent mopping (usually starting at the 500 USD range), and an easy to clean robot. Really good midrange option: dreame l40 ultra or the MOVA p10 pro ultra at about 500. They’ll deliver the best bang for buck performance. The x40 ultra should also be in this price range. It should come with an antitangle TriCut brush that works but generally makes it louder. The most expensive options have quieter antitangle rollers as they don’t cut the tangled hair but direct it to the dustbin with their tapered end. A bit more expensive but better mopping: the eufy e25 at 629 USD has antitangle brush rollers that work and a decent roller mop. do ask Eufy’s customer support for their updates dirty water component as the one the first gen ones ship with have a leaking issue. I don’t see any other robot in this price range that mops better. Most expensive with the best mopping that doesn’t really come at the cost of vacuuming pet fur at 999: the MOVA Z60 Ultra SA has antitangle rollers and a good roller mop that can extend to clean closer to edges with antitangle combs on the roller mop to prevent tangling. It’s very similar to the MOVA Z60 Ultra Roller which is more expensive with the only difference being threshold crossing wheels but the mopping is the same. MOVA sent me their Z60 ultra roller to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program and I found it to mop really well with no tangles anywhere other than fur wrapped around the fluffing roller which you need to clean once every 30 working hours (the app reminds you).
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for a good vacuum/ mop robot ->Hope it does well! I love to run my combo to vacuum first then mop, it leaves your floors cleaner and your robot is free from mud in the vacuuming compartments. The filter on the x40 ultra is really small so do check it after every few cleaning runs and tap the dust out of it.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame GoVac 508 VS Roborock Qrevo MaxV (Costco) ->There’s no other way to get a bigger one as it won’t fit. Just tap the dust out of it every few cleaning runs and rinse it every two to three weeks or so :) I think you can DIY a pre filter by getting a sponge filter screen(like those used for fish tanks) so fur won’t get stuck to it as easily. It shouldn’t impede airflow as it mainly only works on large particles.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame GoVac 508 VS Roborock Qrevo MaxV (Costco) ->I only talk about this feature because I was able to verify that it works. My older robot with the same dustbin design as the X40 ultra would have clogged in the middle with empty space on the sides of the dustbin. https://preview.redd.it/jyapw2wybnmf1.png?width=2847&format=png&auto=webp&s=2c8cbad9819430e8fbe0831d232fef2be4b6c947
r/RobotVacuums • Irobot Roomba Combo J9 vs Dreame L50 Pro Ultra ->This is what my old robot’s dustbin would be like. It had the same design as the X40 Ultra. https://preview.redd.it/stxg6wfgcnmf1.png?width=1599&format=png&auto=webp&s=ce3e14aacfadbdcce58a1c100b3ba63c28e4c3dd
r/RobotVacuums • Irobot Roomba Combo J9 vs Dreame L50 Pro Ultra ->The main difference is that the X40 has an RGB camera for obstacle avoidance but the others don’t as they only have structured light. This will matter if you need it to avoid things like cords and U-shaped furniture legs.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one of these 3? ->Otherwise they’ll all clean about just as well. I prefer the roborock edge and Curv to be easier to clean as the mop washboard is removable unlike the dreame X40.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one of these 3? ->Dreame GoVac 508 should be a rebranded Dreame X40.
r/RobotVacuums • Costco Robot Recommendations? ->Lidar is generally used for navigation, not obstacle avoidance so do tidy up after any cables, slippers, towels, etc. that could trip up a robot before you send it on its way. If you’re technically skilled and want the robot to do well with obstacle avoidance as it has an RGB camera and work locally (nothing is sent to the cloud): I’d check out valetudo https://valetudo.cloud/pages/general/supported-robots.html Valetudo compatible models under 500 usd with good obstacle avoidance: The dreame l40 ultra, x40 ultra (price may vary), and the MOVA p10 pro ultra If you’d rather have it connected to the cloud with no RGB camera (in brands’ alphabetical order): Dreame’s L10S Ultra Gen 2 is at 399 MOVA’s E40 Ultra is at 379 The roborock QV 35 S at 469 (prices can vary when it’s Black Friday
r/RobotVacuums • First Roborock Recomendation ->X40 goes on sale to 999, and has been great at avoiding cables and other objects
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for good cord and object avoidance ->My x40 ultra is still going strong, and I see it sells for $500 now. Strong recommend.
r/RobotVacuums • Best option under $1000? ->Navigation is excellent. There has been a couple of instances of it choking on some string, but overall pretty good. We've not had excessively messy floor, but I've been satisfied with mopping. There have been times when it didn't do much about dried and stuck on stains though.
r/RobotVacuums • Best option under $1000? ->Bought a l40s pro ultra, cause the x40 ultra was broken (wheel doesnt move) and amazon refuses Prime Discount, to buy another one. Im Happy with him
r/RobotVacuums • Which one of these 3? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
