ECOVACS - DEEBOT T80 OMNI

I’d get the T80 in your situation. The X9 has the ability to lift mop, vacuum and side brush independently. I don’t think that benefits you much if you do not have much of a rugged area. I have a X9 and E25, and I find the X9 to do a much better job mopping and require much less maintenance of the mop and dirty water tank. E25 was a louder vacuum and worked very fast. X9 while very slow in comparison it mopped with very little noise.

Check out the ones with a roller mop. I’ve been using the ecovacs t80, and I think the roller mop does a pretty decent job.

I upgraded to the ecovacs t80, the new mop works better than my old spinning one. It’s not too fancy or anything, but I’m pretty happy with it.

I tried both the T80 Omni and eufy e28. You can check my last post for a comparison. I also have been using the Dreame l40 ultra. I have a dog that sheds an insane amount and all of these vacuums have no problem picking up his fur. So mopping is really where you’re gonna see the most differences. Considering the points you made about the types of messes in your place, you may find a roller mop would be a bit more beneficial for you. It’s better at cleaning up stains and spills. Now if you generally have clean floors, I don’t think you’d see a noticeable difference between a roller and a spinning mop, especially if you run it nightly. That is how my house is and the dirty water in my T80 is just as dirty in my l40 ultra. You could also check out the mova z50 or v50. I think the z50 seems to be one of the best mopping performers rn but unfortunately not available in my country. However I do have a v50 coming this week as I want to give that one a try too. I hear really good things.

The dreame l40 ultra or mova p10 pro ultra is pretty popular for mid range options with flagship features. From personal experience, my ecovacs T80 Omni has been pretty good too but it’s off sale right now. You can often find it for around $900. Check my last post I did a review on it. If you’re sold on Roborock (it is often considered one of the most trusted brands) You could check out their Qrevo series. Also supposedly the mova v50 is really good and just released. I have it coming next week and will be reporting back. Sorry I’m sure this didn’t help narrow it down but just giving som ideas. Just keep in mind, every single robot vac is going to have both good and bad reviews. Some people will say it’s the best ever and some will say it’s the worst machine ever created. Focus on the neutral and mid-star reviews as they often are the most telling. But don’t get too hung up on every negative opinion you see. People are much more likely to go online and complain about issues than they are to praise when they don’t have an issue. So it often leads to bias.

I tried both of these as well. I wrote a comparison in my most recent post and agree with your points. I ended up buying the Dreame l40 ultra as a “budget” option and I think I’m going to keep that one. Sure the T80 Omni does some things better but imo not $400 better. And at the rate the tech is moving, these things will be outdated in just a couple years. So I figured I’ll stick with one that does a good job instead of dropping 2x-3x on one that gives me marginal performance improvements. Then I can buy another mid range robot in a couple years when the tech is better and end up spending on 2 what I would have on 1 premium robot.

I agree it leaves too much water behind. There isn’t much in the grey water tank after a run with the e28 I am using. I have also been testing the T80 Omni and on the contrary, it leaves a lot less water behind and there is much more dirty water in the grey water tank. The problem I am concerned with is ecovacs reliability and poor customer support. Yes it may work well now but who knows how it will perform in a few months. Even r/ecovacs seems to have a ton of negative comments telling people to stay away from their products. And on top of that, a lot of the positive posts and comments you find there are fake marketing accounts. So ya idk part of me just wants to wait until there are more roller mop offerings.. dreame, mova and narwal have some that should be hopefully released in the US soon. And I’m hoping we get one from Roborock too.

What made you go X9 over t80? They seem to be very similar. I am testing the t80 and e28 in parallel and I agree with most of your points. I think the biggest downside you laid out was that it leaves a lot of water behind. I honestly thought it was a good thing at first but now realize it’s probably the opposite. I immediately noticed how much more t80 picks back up vs the e28. Are you returning the e25 and keeping the x9? Or is that what you’re ultimately still trying to decide? I keep going back and forth on which to keep and now I’m debating if I should also go x9 over t80… people in this sub do not seem to think highly of ecovacs which I feel is causing me some bias in my opinions.

Been testing this and the eufy e28 side by side. I keep going back and forth on which I feel is better. I think they both have pros and cons. The T80 takes a lot longer to clean and its navigation can be kinda wonky. Looks like it gets confused sometimes. I also think the edge cleaning isn’t all that’s cracked up to be. I’d put it on par with the e28 in that department. However, I feel the mopping on the T80 is a bit better. It is returning a noticeable amount more dirty water to the dirty water tank than the e28. And at the same time, it’s leaving a noticeable amount less water behind after a pass, so that tells me it’s picking up more dirt/mess than the e28. I also think the vacuuming on the T80 is superior. Plus the slim profile is better if you have low furniture you need it to get under. And finally as a con, the T80 takes significantly longer to complete a run than the e28 due to the shorter mop requiring more passes. Like 15 minutes longer. But, it’s quieter overall than the e28. I will continue to test these through the return window and make a formal post, but knowing there will be more roller mop options right on the horizon, part of me thinks I should just wait for something better. We already know of the mova z50, dreame aqua 10 pro and narwal flow. And I’m sure we will get something from Roborock soon. So my opinion so far is that both these devices are decent at what they do, but knowing roller mops are a relatively new overall, I think we will get better tech soon enough that it may be worth it to wait if you can.

Ya Just a Dad just posted his review today and he did not like it at all. I gotta say my T80 Omni had at least given me a better experience, but still not impressive enough to sell me on it so it is going back. Ik a lot of people like to hate on vacuum wars or call them paid shills when they have a bad experience, but Vacuums wars is strictly doing lab tests. They don’t account for real world use and reliability. Which is why it’s important to also read reviews from your average consumers. They rated how it performed in their tests and ranked it accordingly. Had they lived with it for a few weeks on end, it probably would have gone a different way. Problem is they review tons of vacuums and mops (not just robots) at a time and they don’t have time to spend an extended period of time with one. I think they do need to find a way to work it into their reviews from that aspect though…

I don’t think there are any mop rollers out rn that are worth buying over some of the better spinning mops. IF you’re adamant on sticking to rollers, I would wait for some of the newer options to release if you can. But also, I think roller mops are seriously overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, they are better at some things like cleaning up spills or excessive stains. But if you run it nightly and don’t have overly dirty floors, you’re not gonna notice much difference vs a spinning mop machine. As for alternative recs that aren’t rollers, people seem to like the Mova v50 and Roborock Saros 10r. I’ve personally been using the Dreame l40 ultra and I’m happy with it after trying the ecovacs T80 Omni and eufy e28 and not liking them all that much.

I also have the eufy e28 and ya im unimpressed overall and it’s going back. I did also buy the ecovacs T80 Omni to compare and it was better if you are set on a roller mop. Otherwise you can check out some spinning mop options. I just ordered the x40 ultra and mova v50 to compare but I cannot yet speak to their performance in comparison. I will add it is important to have realistic expectations with these machines. They’re to help maintain and I don’t think the tech is there just yet to fully replace vacuuming and mopping.

I’ve also been testing these 2 side by side. I also agree that the T80 Omni does a better job. However, I still don’t think it’s good enough for me to want to keep it. And I especially don’t trust ecovacs as a brand. While it works good now, it’s been said over and over that reliability is not ecovacs strong suit. I do believe roller mops are better performers but there are more options right on the horizon so I think it’s worth waiting if you don’t have an immediate need to buy one and are adamant on getting one with a roller mop. My next test is to determine if a great spinning mop is better than a subpar roller mop. So I bought the mova v50 and dreame x40 and will make a post on my experience after spending some time with it.

The x40 that I bought was refurbished and had wonky navigation so I sent it back, but bought a new l40 ultra and I really like it. The navigation is pretty good and object avoidance has been pretty solid too. Is it perfect? No. And the T80 is probably still a bit better at mopping. But it was good enough for me to realize that it wasn’t worth paying the extra money for the T80 or e28. So both of them got sent back and I kept the l40 ultra. As for the Mova v50, I have it sitting in its box still in my house as I decided I’m going to send it back for the fact that I don’t feel it’s worth me spending twice the price as the l40 ultra for what is likely marginal performance gains. Don’t get me wrong I am sure it is better, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the robot vac tech is just moving so quickly that spending money on a premium robot whose features will be dated in just a couple years wasn’t a good idea. So I’m happy with the performance of the l40 ultra and will be keeping that one.

I share most of your opinions about the e28. I just posted a review myself comparing it to the ecovacs T80 Omni which I feel does a better job. I know everyone is gung-ho on the roller mop design but I think a good spinning mop vac is better than a subpar roller mop. I’m sure we will eventually get a roller or track mop option from Roborock and I expect it will be one of the best performers as Roborock typically is.

I've got the T80, haven't really noticed any obvious missed spots. Tight corners or oddly shaped furniture legs can be a little tricky, but that's normal. I think firmware updates might make it smarter over time. Overall, it keeps the floors looking good without me having to follow it around, and for everyday cleaning, it works well.

Robot vacuums these days have so many new features and better cleaning performance, so getting one would really help with housework. I picked up an ecovacs t80 a few months ago, and it’s really saved me a lot of time on cleaning. The roller mop is especially great for spills and wet stains, and I think I'm happy with my choice.

You can check vacuum wars scores, the dreame X50 and X9 omni generally perform better across the board but have poor battery in comparison. I find that the T80 omni is a better middle ground, but they aren't as good as others in object avoidance and there have been reports of a stuck bug (although I assume software issues get patched eventually) For value you are better off with a midrange bot, I don't recommend buying the newest bot for +1000$. Lastly there is no bot that scores as best in all categories, especially mopping results vary a lot.

No single bot is the best in every category, and even if they are the best in a category, how much better are they really? I went with the deeboot T80 omni because It scores well across the board without sacrifing battery life. It's navigation and obstacle avoidance are just average, but it's not horrible either. Pick a bot based on your needs, you won't find "the best" at everything.

I got mine 2 days ago, got it at a great price though. I was surpised by how quiet it was, the carpet deep cleaning is amazing, and the mopping is excellent. Obstacle avoidance and navigation are decent, but nothing to write home about. Battery life is excellent, something that the best bots are starting to struggle with. Never got stuck, even on multiple carpets. Biggest problem is that the bot is "too careful" it stays a bit too far away from edges to my liking, obviously a lot better than the bumper car I used to have, but it means edges aren't being cleaned as well as I like. It took the bot 64 minutes to clean 46m3 of surface (vacuum+mop) doing it separately (vacuum than mop) increased the time to 100 minutes. This is not having it do the carpets, than the furthest rooms. For the price I've paid I'll likely keep it, but I hope I can get the bot closer to the edges.

There is no bot that performs the best in each area, but most users will not need this. I do think vacuum wars does a terrific job, however I don't always agree with the weight of their scoring system. While the X9 is currently #1 if you check the individual scores you see that navigation is pretty near average, and battery life is below average. A lot of weight is given to mopping performance, vacuuming power and features. I went with the T80 omni instead, while missing a feature or 2 over the X9 and scoring slightly worse in both mopping and vacuuming, it's battery life is way above the X9 and more importantly so is its navigation. It's again, not a flawless product, but I managed to fix most of my issues with the app, and it's a huge upgrade from my roborock S5. I recommend against paying +1000$ for any bot, as there isn't a flawless model, and there is always something better around the corner. Get a good deal and move on, in 5 years you'll likely buy one that will blow any current flagship away.

Got an ecovacs T80 omni for 680€ in Europe, pretty sure I can't get a better high end offer than that. The dreame L40 at 500€ was also enticing though, but the X40 at 800€, X50 at 1000€ and the ecovacs X9 at 930€ all felt very expensive in comparison.

Do you still feel the same way about t80? I loved mine for a few weeks and tiled floor did get cleaner but it really does not clean corners and close to the baseboards at all. Miss my Neato...

I disagree. These suction power ratings are always an indication of actual performance. They might not be perfect, since other factors exist, but they are an indication. Reviews are subjective (some don't even use the highest settings). Suction power isn't. If your 2000 Pa robot has much better floor pick-up than your 12000 Pa robot, something's wrong with your 12000 Pa robot. My 20000 Pa eufy Omni E25 has better hard floor pick-up performance than my 19000 Pa Mova Z50 and my 18000 Pa Mova P50 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebot T80.

Roller. They handle it well. Yes, they really work. No, they don't just look impressive. I recommend that Yeedi, the Ecovacs Deebot T80, or the eufy Omni E25.

I’m happy with my T80 Omni. My floors have never been this clean. I only have hardwood floors though, so I can’t speak to the carpet ability. The little rotating brush does a great job of getting corners and edges, and the extending mop keeps a tight edge to the wall/furniture/random dog toys in the way. My only complaint would be with how small the little HEPA filter in vacuum is. It does its job, and the mesh cover takes care of the dog hair, but it loads up a little quick. I should probably dust more.

I got an ecovacs t80 omni, and it has a nice white look, very simple and clean. The dock isn't very compact though, so it still needs a bit of space.

The mopping on the T80 is solid, but large food chunks are tough for any robot. It's best to pick those up first, then let it mop. Running it in "mop after vac" mode also helps keep the robot cleaner and makes it last longer.

I'm not really into smart integrations, but I’ve got to say, I’m actually pretty happy with my ecovacs t80. It does a great job with cleaning, and that’s what really matters to me.

I bought ecovacs t80 for couples of weeks, and it's been good for daily cleaning. I've got a pet, so sometimes there're paw prints on the floor, the roller mop handles there messes well without leaving streaks or water marks. And it doesn't need much maintenance either, which honestly saves me a lot of time.

I got the ecovacs t80, which has a similar mop to their flagship x9 but comes at a lower price. It cleans really well on my hardwood floor without leaving any streaks. The mop stays pretty clean after being washed in the station, so it doesn't require much maintenance. I just wipe the sensors and clean the water tray and the filter in the water tank from time to time.

I got a ecovacs t80 few months ago, the roller mop act well on spilled water and sauce. I think it's worth buying, especially for the recent discount, you may get it around 500.
