From what you described, t90 sounds like it fits your place better. Roller mop for hardwood, stronger suction for the carpeted room. If you’re not in a hurry, then waiting for t90 might make sense.
I haven’t seen many good reviews of irobot here, and it doesn’t seem that many people use it. I use an ecovacs deebot myself, and if you’re not in a rush, the X8 pro omni might be worth a look. I’ve had it for a few months and it’s been really reliable so far.
One thing I underestimated was battery life. In a larger home, it determines whether the robot can finish the whole place in one go or has to stop midway to recharge, which makes cleaning take much longer. I remember the ecovacs t90 that came out this year supports fast charging, so battery life and runtime might be a better fit for bigger spaces.
Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller, Ecovacs Deebot T90, Ecovacs Deebot X12, eufy Omni S2, and Narwal Flow 2. Sure: yes, the mop feature actually cleans well. The models that have the best navigation and obstacle avoidance and which I would get If I were buying today are the ones I listed.

Dreame Aqua10 Ultra Roller, Ecovacs Deebot T90, Ecovacs Deebot X12, eufy Omni S2, and Narwal Flow 2. Yes, spinning mop robots are better than the flat vibrating pad ones for tiles. Yes, some automatically lift the mop on carpets. Yes, most robots map two floors easily. Yes, the auto-cleaning dock ones are worth it.

How much space do you have? If you've got a lot of floor to mop, the T90 has fast charging, which helps quite a bit. It's a good feature to have so the robot isn't just sitting on the dock for hours in the middle of a cycle.
Yeah, I totally get what you're saying! Honestly, I think we're in that "refinement era" with robovacs, and I'm actually okay with that. The jump from like 60% to 85% capability happened pretty fast, but now these incremental improvements from 85 to 90+ are where it really matters for daily use. The T80 to T90 upgrades you mentioned are exactly the kind of stuff that makes a difference in real life. Fast charging means less downtime, better airflow actually picks up more debris (especially pet hair if you have it), and a longer roller mop covers more ground per pass. These aren't flashy features, but they're the ones you appreciate after a few weeks of use. And yeah, those stair-climbing concepts and robots with arms look cool in demos, but I'm with you—they're probably not ready for prime time. I'd rather have something that does the basics really well than something experimental that breaks down or gets stuck constantly. As for when the T90 drops, I haven't seen an official date yet, but Ecovacs usually announces these things a month or two before launch. Might be worth keeping an eye on their site or signing up for notifications if you're seriously considering it. The T80 is solid too though if you don't want to wait!
I feel you on the 2 kids + 3 pets struggle, floors are basically a combat zone. If the Qrevo isn't doing it for you, definitely check out the Ecovacs Deebot line (especially the T series when on sale). Their "Ozmo" mopping tech is a beast for sticky messes and pet tracks. You can often snag them under $500, and they might actually give you the "oomph" you're missing.
I have a T80 at home, and honestly the T90 looks like a meaningful upgrade. Better mopping, stronger vacuum, faster charging. Mostly curious how well that 26 cm roller mop works in real life, not just specs.
I have a T90AI. It doesn’t navigate thresholds well. It doesn’t update the map. It got stuck on a cord and the battery ran dead. It won’t take a charge with a dead battery. You have to send it in for repair if it is dead because it is not user serviceable. I have chargers from RC cars. Took it apart and charged the battery for ten min. Worked for a few months until it did it again. Repeat process.
We got a Eufy vacuum only a few years ago and after having to sweep everyday due to having 2 dogs and a cat, it was this amazing luxury I couldn't even imagine. It ran really well for a long time. Then it did need to be replaced. We got the same model but this one had some issues rather soon. The remote stopped working which was a little important since i had a non mapping model. I still ran it but it would push dining room chairs around, get stuck on the base of our fan and cat scratcher. During Prime we splurged on a Ecovac Deebot that mops. Wow it is such an upgrade from what we 1st started with. We are really happy with its performance, my floors have never been so nicely maintained. Totally worth it.
The roller mop is probably better in terms of cleaning results. If you get one with a station, it can wash and dry itself. I usually just wait for the deebot to finish, let the roller mop clean and dry itself, and then do a quick check to make sure there’s nothing left on it.
Just ordered the Roborock Qrevo Curv X this morning with the Black Friday sale. We used to have a cheaper Ecovacs Deebot and hated it/sold it because it would get stuck all the time on our carpets and couldn't get over our bathroom threshold. We recently moved into a multi story unit with hardwood floors and excited to see how this new one goes.
