Robot Vacuum is a huge win. I thought it was stupid when the first ones came out and just bounced randomly but they have come a looong way. My current robot has a vibrator attached to the mop to scrub it better than I will ever bother.
I know that would be the joke when I said it but it's true though > Electronic mop vibrates up to 480 times/minute to provide a deep clean and scrub away stubborn stains like dried liquids and pet prints. https://www.ecovacs.com/us/deebot-winbot-accessories/ozmo-pro
Maybe?. I had a shitty one before. The object avoidance makes a huge difference. I don't have to move anything, or clear the floors. It avoids cords, and most toys. Mine lets you set up no-go zones in the app so I don't worry about doors either. Whether my daughter's room is open, or not, it won't go in where her toys are
I’m on my second Ecovacs and love it. First was a T8+ that was good, but just upgraded to a T50 Pro with better mopping and automatically empties itself, cleans the mop pads, fills itself with clean water etc. Very low maintenance and does a great job.
My T8 is 4-5 and works as new. It doesn’t get used daily but no problems at all aside from the occasional forgetting of the map. I’ve just ordered a T50 Pro and the T8 will be designated for upstairs usage.
I like Roborock, but to be fair, Ecovacs does work, at least not worse than Roborock for me. My Roborock S5 is slowly retiring. It used to clean the bedroom's floor, then went downstairs to the living room's first floor, and now it is on a partial retirement in the office room - smallest and easiest to clean :) Downstairs is Ecovacs T8 OZMO, which runs daily, with almost 3,000 runs in its lifetime. Not a single problem! Upstairs is Ecovacs X1 Omni, which runs 2-3 times a week, mopping. No complaints in the last 2 years, never gave me any trouble.
How is the mapping on Ecovacs now? I used to have a T8 and it was awful. The map would constantly get messed up and I would have to make it remap my house every week. It was awful at remapping and I would have to babysit it for hours while it did it. I ended up getting a Roborock Qrevo which has been amazing. I’ve had it a few years and never had to redo the map due to issues with the robot. The one I did have to remap was when I got it back from being serviced, and it perfectly mapped out my entire house on its own in under 30 minutes without me babysitting it. I’m mainly looking for a good mop, so I would be open to Ecovacs again if it’s actually improved now.
Ecovacs DeeBot T8, been running almost daily for 3 years without any issues.
Been using the Ecovacs Deebot T8 Pure Robot Vacuum &Mop Cleaner for almost 3 years. Great product
I have an Ozmo T8 which is a few years old now, have had a few issues with things due to parts wearing out but its been going pretty well. I did upgrade to a motorised mopping add on which is much better than the original it came with.
Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI+ mop. it’s under 100$ used and it’s actually really good. i’ve been loving it
So in short, looks like my deebot T8 has hit it's end. some reason it's map just went crazy where it flips 45 degrees randomly in the process of cleaning, rendering it very random, and in addition it's roller would jam horribly with our husky hair to the point that I had to clean out the roller twice a day just to keep up. Anyway now I'm about to have 500-600 or so to put into a new vacuum. I'm a big home automation fan, love my homeassistant setup. I'd like something that I can directly tie into home assistant to tell it to clean a specific room etc.., and I'd like something that handles or avoids pet hair tangles as much as possible, we have 3 dogs, one of them a husky that sheds like crazy. The Ecovacs L60 was a big positive to me on looking, with the blades that cut hair off the roller on the base station. Which reviews seem to go both ways on, some saying it works well consistantly, some saying it does nothing. I'm seeing generally good opinions on the roborock q5, and from what I'm seeing roborock has the best compatibility in home assistant. Mopping sounds kind of nice, but getting pet hair and dirt up is far higher priority, I know there's a post like this every month or so, but so far most of the recent ones I'm seeing are "money no object", and haven't seen one that really weighed in home assistant compatibility.
Dont forget that reddit, especially subreddits like these, are riddled with bots astroturfing their products, shitting on others. The collective negative sentiment to Ecovacs can as well just be manufactured, its basically impossible to tell. Had mine 4 years, T8 ozmo, mopping sucked balls, vacuuming was okay, navigation allright. Stopped using it when the drop sensors stopped working suddenly, which considering its not even mechanical part, was kinda a bummer.
