Robot hoover, so much better than before. I have a Eufy E20 3 in 1
Eufy E20 No mop, Vacuum wars number 1 model for no [https://vacuumwars.com/best-robot-vacuum-without-mopping/](https://vacuumwars.com/best-robot-vacuum-without-mopping/)
I recently went through this same search and I was disappointed to see that many companies don't seem to be putting much effort into advancing their vacuum only models. But I personally do NOT want a mop included. My vacuum station needs to live in a carpeted area and I barely have any bare floors, so I don't want to be dealing with the upkeep and maintenance of a mop station. I ended up going with Shark Powerdetect AV2820AE and I'm loving it. I compared it to the Eufy E20 and went with the Shark for better obstacle avoidance, real-world suction, and a height that would fit under more furniture. Plus we don't need the stick vacuum that the Eufy includes. We have one short-haired dog and we tend not to have too many obstacles. The Shark has been super impressive in where it's able to go - mounting our tall bathroom threshold without a problem and navigating throughout our furniture. It did get stuck one time on the legs of our Ligne Roset Pop chair and ottoman, but I was shocked that it could generally deal with these low-angled spindly legs in the first place! I was going to set a no-go zone around them, but I don't need to because it generally does great. It's only been a few weeks but we've been very impressed and happy with it. I know Shark has some haters on here, but it's been great for us.
If you want a vacuum only robot, I’d look at the AEG RX9-2-4ANM https://www.robocleaners.com/en/aeg-rx9-2-4anm.html (Not an affiliate link). This robot won't ao very well tor dealing with hair and fur on the brush roller but this is the best robot vacuum if you're only considering vacuuming performance (along with the Dyson VisNav which is considerably more expensive but the thicker roller means it’s less prone to tangles). If you want an autoempty station, I’d look at the roborock S8+, Roborock Q5/Q8 Max+, or the eufy E20. If you want a combo, I'd recommend the Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2 (599), Xiaomi X20 Max (539), the Xiaomi X20 Pro (439), the Xiaomi X10+ (399) as these robots are better suited for larger homes (<60-100sqm) as it has an internal water tank so it won't need to constantly go back to the base station to clean the mops. The Xiaomi X20+ lacks an onboard water tank and must rewet the mops and can become dry when mopping before it resets it. This is generally less water efficient which is why I recommend the previous models. I’d recommend the Xiaomi X20+ for homes smaller than 50-60sqm. All of these robots are compatible with the dreame anti-tangle TriCut brush which works great with my long haired corgi’s fur and long hair in my home.
So true… After my roomba stopped working, I bought eufy e20. It can handle litter & hairballs on the floor, it also can be detached from the robot vacuum and turn it into a cordless vacuum cleaner. Here’s the hair I vacuumed off my sofa this afternoon… Choking Warning https://preview.redd.it/hhbshkp540qe1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cdbf3e7827cbf88446c2a6f828a3165d1f2aae2a
I was most interested in the eufy e20 (already bought) and the narwal flow (waiting for June) at this year’s CES. The e20 is my first robot vacuum, and I’ve come to rely on it more than I expected. It’s super handy for instantly cleaning up after my cat’s messes.
This was EXACTLY what i was looking for about a month ago so figured i'd chime in; I have 3 pets, a Shephard mix dog and two shorthaired cats, and we live in a ~600sqft apt that is all hard flooring. I had an older Roomba model until a few years ago that was a gift, but this was my first robovac purchase. My budget was around 1k but obviously was hoping to spend less. My main complaints about the old Roomba was that it needed constant supervision while running bc it was always running into/over stuff and getting stuck, and the dust bin was tiny and needed to be emptied multiple times during each cleaning; it was honestly as much work as just vacuuming the place myself. So, I knew I wanted stellar object avoidance and self-emptying above all else. I ended up getting the eufy 3-in-1 E20, and I am pretty pleased with it, to the point where yes I would recommend it, and here's why: 1. The object avoidance is indeed stellar; only once in the past month has it grabbed a cord accidentally and needed intervention, and this is impressive bc I do NOT clean or tidy prior to running this vac. I know it would do a more thorough clean if I did, but for me this is the point; it runs every morning, and if I don't have a chance to run around and pick up beforehand, it will still hit the main areas and walkways until I have a chance to prep properly and get a better clean. 2. The self-emptying is magical; if the bot gets full mid-clean, it will pause the run, return to its base to empty, and then resume the run where it left off. Perfection 🤌💋 I will say that with the amount of pet hair around here, the opening where the vac emptied into the base can get clogged, so it needs a check every few days and I sometimes need to manually remove a hairball. The brilliant part about this model, tho, is that the dustbin on the vac itself is translucent, so I can easily see when it's not emptying fully and know when to check the base. 3. The price!! I paid under $400 for it which means I could have easily bought two and stayed under budget. Obviously my place is small and I do not need two lol but saving this much money off of my original budget was a HUGE plus. 4. An unexpected bonus: the 3-in-1 feature; I have realized over my past month with this eufy that there are always nooks and crannies the robovac won't get into, but I can easily hit them with the mini-vac or stick vac features for a truly hair-free apartment. I have even used the mini-vac on furniture and pillows!! The versatility is REALLY really nice and is the perfect add-on to the main function; the robovac does most of the work, then I can touch up manually afterward. I did have a vacuum before this one but the job felt overwhelming so I would avoid it. Also, since I'm checking on the robovac base from time to time anyway, it's that much easier to just grab the stick vac while I'm over there and do a little touch-up in the corners and crevices. Alright this got way longer than I was anticipating but I really love this little machine lol trying to think of a cute lil name for her so if you have recommendations please lmk 😂
I have had it for 2 months now. I bought it liking the 2-in-1 idea. But a few things really bug me, so I am returning mine: 1. Poor battery life. In Robot mode, it would barely last 60 minutes in standard mode on carpet. I think they advertise 120. 2. The handheld is way too short and there is no way to extend because the stick uses different-shape connector. Dumb design oversight. 3. Noise - it's very loud in robot mode.
Eufy E20 sounds interesting, especially the convertible feature to use it as a handheld or stick vac-perfect for pet hair. I’ve tried robot vacuums like the Roomba and Shark, which are great for their vacuum-only performance, but never experienced anything like the E20’s versatility. For pet owners like us, the multi-stage filtration is a huge plus. Since you're looking for a specific recommendation on a vacuum without a mop, I suggest checking a review site like [ConsumerRating.org](http://ConsumerRating.org) to find top-rated options that meet your needs. Anyone else have experience with the E20 or similar products?
"Perfect" with robot vacuums is not a thing. In all cases, you have to prioritize and compromise, even with the expensive ones. So why pay the big bucks? Honestly, if you look at an expensive robot and you don't see one or more features that jump out at you as "must haves", then I don't know why you'd pay the big bucks. There are a lot of pretty good cheap robots. I own a flagship robot: the Eufy S1 Pro, which retails for $1500, and I got on sale for $1000. In my mind, there were two big features that spoke to me: really good obstacle avoidance, and the roller mop system that cleans the mop continuously. Compromises included average to poor vacuuming performance on carpet, a bit more maintenance (due to that continuous mop cleaning feature), less good edge and corner cleaning, so-so hair tangling performance, and the price. I'm quite happy with my choice; it's met my expectations for five months now. For you, this is a pretty poor match. If you spent $1000+ on this, you'd probably be pretty disappointed, especially with those tall and fluffy carpets. I don't think the S1 Pro is particularly bad as a flagship, at least from the impressions I get from reviewers and user comments. It's possible to make a similar list of pros and cons for every flagship out there, which you've already done for a few of them. So if I were you, I'd probably start with something as cheap as you can live with, and then ask yourself what that can't do that you really need. Then start looking for robots that do those things, and ask yourself if you can live with their drawbacks. Try to get into a mindset of "paying for features" rather than "paying for perfection". Since you like the Roborock Qrevo Master, I'll point you at something to use as a baseline that's more in line with the experience you've had so far: the Roborock Q5 Max+. This should give you an improved experience over your current robot at a price that's a bit higher than what you paid. The Eufy L60 SES is also worth mentioning at this level. From there, see what upgrades look like. For example, there are two directions you can go from the Eufy L60: the Eufy C20 or E20. The C20 adds mopping and automatic mop washing, while the E20 is a better implementation of the L60 idea, along with the ability to convert to a handheld cordless vacuum. Which one of those sounds better to you? Can you live with the drawbacks? Would you be frustrated spending "that much" and having to live with "those problems"? On the Roborock side, maybe the Qrevo S is a good stopping point on your way towards the Master. Or maybe you'd want to switch vendors, and move from the Q5 Max+ to the Dreame L10s Ultra, for example. Reviews can be a problem, especially since you need to weed out both the naysayers and the sponsored shills. Reputation is probably the best thing to go by. To that end, here are a few YouTube reviewers that seem to do pretty well at being fair and balanced: * Vacuum Wars * Just A Dad * Jamie Andrews * Vacuum Chef * The French Glow * The Hook Up Hope that helps. Good luck!
You're not going to find a great robot that doesn't include a mop of some kind. That said, you can often find a robot where the mop is an afterthought, doesn't affect the robot's vacuuming performance much, and (most importantly) is too cheap to make much difference in the price. These will be robots with stationary (not vibrating) mop pads. That's where I'd look for a good robot vacuum where any existing mop would never be used. As for the best vacuum-only robot on the market today, I'd probably point you at the Eufy E20. The main reason: it's a convertible, in that you can remove the vacuum motor from the robot and use it as a handheld cordless vac or a cordless stick vac. Its design is much more like a handheld, which gives it a number of advantages: multiple cyclones and multi-stage filtration come to mind. It's only been out for a short time, but the reviews have been fairly positive, both for the robot part and the manual vacuum part.
The E20 can be a good choice. There are a few independent reviews out there; I'd especially recommend the reviews by Just A Dad and The Hook Up on YouTube. Things to consider: * The stick vacuum is short, so less comfortable for tall folks to use. * The auto-empty process for the stick vacuum is a little fiddly. * The attachments aren't as flexible as they could be. The main issue is that the floor head cannot be attached to the motor without the stick part, making it more difficult to use to clean stairs. I saw your post about the "set" vs. "non-set"; that's terminology I've never heard of before. Sometimes, the sales are weird that way. I suspect they've got more inventory of one option than the other, and want to clear up space in the warehouse.
Eufy may be your best bet. Look at their C10, L60, and E20 models. As a bonus, the E20 converts into a cordless stick vac, in case you need one of those. Another good choice would be the Roborock Q5 Max+, though it tends to be a bit more expensive. Finally, consider getting a robot with a stationary pad mop. I know you said you want just a vacuum, but those are getting more and more rare over time. It's really easy to just slap a Swiffer pad on the back of a robot vacuum, so most manufacturers are doing just that. You don't pay a lot for it (and sometimes pay less!), and it's easy to leave off and pretend it doesn't exist. It also tends to not have a significant effect on vacuuming performance. A lot of options will open up if you expand your search in this way.
I'll add to the vote for the Roborock Q5 Max, but there are other alternatives: many Shark robots, plus the Eufy L50, L60, C10, and E20 models. A few models put the water tank into the mop plate, and thus do not sacrifice any dustbin space for water storage. An example would be the Roborock Q5 Pro, which is basically the Q5 Max with some cosmetic changes and a mop pad. I've seen the Pro cheaper than the Max, which means you're paying more money just for the privilege of not getting a mop; ditto for the L60 SES vs. Hybrid. So that's something to consider.
Generally, the models with the best obstacle avoidance and navigation will also have mops. The best you can get without a mop, most likely, will be the Eufy E20. As a bonus, that will get you a stick vac as well as a robot. Roborock's models with "Reactive Tech" as a feature might also do well; I think all of those will at least have the stationary pad mop, but that's easy to ignore and doesn't add as much to the cost.
Eufy 3in1 E20 may be an option for you if your home is smaller? I bought one a few weeks ago on sale at £250, still available for a similar price on their website. Adding extra accessories brought me up to £300. I have a 2 bed flat with a small hallway and a larger laminate floored living room, long hair and 4 pets. I've been pleased with it so far and very impressed with its filter! I emptied its bag after the first 48hrs (purely to see how much it had managed to collect) by putting the nozzle of my mains powered shark into it and it BLOCKED THE SHARK! there was practically a full cat in there! It was disgusting and impressive by equal measure! It cannot do some rugs and is choosey about if it feels like doing the ones it can do. It has enough battery on a single charge to hoover: the laminate living room- where it can reach, my large bedroom twice on turbo mode, the hall 1x on turbo and my flatmates room 1x on turbo. All carpeted. It has about 20%battery left at that point which is enough to go and do a quick "zone clean" somewhere if needed. I also have the IQ boost enabled which detects longer carpets and increases the suction and further decreases the battery. It recharges fully in a few hours. The initial setup asks if you have pets and automatically sets up the settings to deep dust collect every time, and for it to self empty into the dock every 15mins to prevent blockages. Again decreasing the battery, but pretty ideal for the size of my home. The mapping is easy enough to do, and it constantly updates its map as it goes, so if you move a piece of furniture it will adapt very quickly. If it misses a room on first mapping, you can put it in that room and tell it to map again or re-map. Once its registered the space it will show up, if it sees it twice, it will prompt you to add it to the map. You can alter and refine the map space in the app too, set no go zones, set the scheduler with how you want it to clean each rooms floor, and on what power, carpet length etc etc.... finding it somewhere to live in its dock was a little trickier. Its quite good at getting itself out of a jam and I've watched it "jump" over a laundry rack bar, but then refuse to go on a rug....so it has its little idiosyncracies haha. I've only had to rescue it a few times- mainly from under the washing rack it insisted on jumping over! Its side brush got tangled in sizal from the cat tree once, so needed rescuing/detangling but again, simple enough to do as the side brush just pops off. (Make sure power cables/phone chargers aren't lying around, it will try to eat them). It navigates around the cats well, if they refuse to move it stops a good few cm away from them and tries to navigate around them....the main issue is if they sit in the doorway of a room and refuse to move, then it will register the room as "unavailable" to access and you'll then have to send it back to clean sometimes.....if you have it set to do 2x passes of the room and the cat has moved, it will normally figure it out. You will need to detangle the roller brush weekly, if you also have longer hair, but so far I've not found any pet hair jammed in it, only human, and its easy enough to access/untangle it. Im very pleased with it for the price I paid overall, but will probably upgrade it in a few years to one with a mop etc. but so far its doing a good job of the main floor areas and is actually helping me keep the house tidier as it encourages me to do quick pickup/tidy ups when I hear it start up.
I only recently bought the eufy 3in1 E20, but I've been very impressed with its abilities so far. 4 pets, one with longer hair. I've been untangling the roller weekly and its 95% my hair. The sheer volume of pet hair it picked up from my mostly carpeted home in the first 48hrs was insane. I can't compare to other robo vacs as this was my first one.
