UK here. I and my partner are both blind. We use the Eufy G40+ robotic vacuum. It's fully autonomous and is self-emptying into a replaceable dust bag contained within the base station. You can run it itself with buttons on the actual vacuum, via the Eufy Clean app, or via a smart speaker. Google Home and Alexa are supported, but I don't know about Apple Home. That said, while it is great at cleaning larger particulates like hair and larger detritus, we still find ourselves needing to go over carpeted areas with a manual vacuum now and again for more of the finer detailed, deeper dirt within the shag. Hard surfaces are absolutely no issue. You'll find the same problem in almost all robot vacuums, unless you shell out an ungodly amount of money on an over-engineered piece of bloatware marketed towards people with more money than sense. As long as you commit to identifying and going over your problem areas with a manual vacuum whenever you see it to be necessary, it's worth the investment. Hope this helps.
I have an older Eufy G40 that I'm very happy with, so I'd start with the Eufy range if I was looking for another. Looks like the G50 is £129 on Amazon, and I'd guess that's the newer version. My G40 does well on carpet tackling the cat hair, and the app is fine. It's great for thoroughly getting under the furniture.
I got the Eufy hybrid and it mops, as a lightning deal on amazon. Now I cant live without it. Never thought I’d care for a mop. It helps so much, saves my messed up back and saves hubbs’ lungs/allergies. It removes all my old lady shedding hair and that of my cats.
I have a Eufy hybrid and love it. It mops great!
Yes. 100%. I have one on each floor and a eufy robo-vacuum that is on a timer.
I have a eufy that self-empties. Worth every penny.
i have a dyson and i love it. shark makes pretty good cordless vacs too. I also have a eufy robot vac and that thing is incredible. I have the one that empties the dust itself. as long as I make sure my cats stuff is off the floor, that little thing does a great job in my apartment. it'll go back to the station and empty itself if it's full. the app is great too because you can see where it is and how it maps out your living space. highly recommend.
We have a self emptying Eufy on each floor with 2 cats and a golden mix. It’s keeping the tumble furs to a level that feels almost civilized.
Save your sanity and get a self-emptying robot vac. I got a Eufy brand one that even cuts long hair off the brush roller and LOVE it. Wish they'd made these things years earlier so I'd have had it for more than a year or so with my husky mix. Now it's just keeping up with the hair from 3 cats and a pit mix. There's minimal maintenance/upkeep and you don't have to replace the brush roller or other accessories much at all. The instructions will tell you to do so at a ridiculous frequency to keep you spending money, but just do a thorough cleaning now and then and they're good as new. Even the filters can be cleaned out with a small hand vac and reused a few times longer than they say. The only trick is to test and figure out the right self-emptying frequency so the bin in the vac doesn't get wedged too full of hair to be sucked into the bag in the base.
Eufy makes a good self emptying vacuum with a built in automatic cutter for hair caught in the rolling brush. It dies a decent job of keeping up with my double coated dog who likes to shed. Bonus is once it's set up you can disconnect it from wifi and it still works. I would never get a roomba for privacy reasons.
We bought our Eufy robo vac/mop last June, since then it's cleaned: 428 Times 317h3m 158380 ft² I would say that the investment was more than worthwhile.
