"I have an iRobot i7+ since 2020. It still works like a charm. ... Only thing I've had to replace was the spinning brush and the two rollers, asid from the dust bag ofcourse."

"the devices have worked well for almost three years with few problems or costs. ... The i7 has cleaned for almost 500 hours, with only one exceptional cost: a new front swivel wheel because the previous one was worn out."

"I bought the iRobot Roomba I-7 Vacuum and Braava M6 Mop combo in 2020 and I have used them like workhorses for 5 years with no issues. ... even 5 years on, they are both very functional and do a great job."

"they have been rock solid, especially the i7+ due to the self emptying. ... Currently the i7 runs daily on the main floor"

"I have 2 huskies, an Aussie Shepard, a cat, and a toddler. ... The best by a large margin has been a Roomba i7 with self emptying base. ... Without it running each day, my place ends up looking like an old Clint Eastwood movie."

r/homeownersWhat's the best Robot Vacuum value for money on the market rn?

I’ve had Roombas since ~2016, a 960 and an i7+. While I wish they integrated with HomeAssistant a little better, they have been rock solid, especially the i7+ due to the self emptying. Currently the i7 runs daily on the main floor and the 960 runs in my bedroom(when I remember to empty it). Had to replace some parts on the i7 and they were mostly easily acquirable directly from iRobot, so that has been nice. Do a little bit of network monitoring and they don’t really ever seem to randomly phone home, so that’s nice.

r/labradorDoes anyone use a robot vacuum for all of the Lab hair?

Have a Roomba i7+ (self emptying). It did great with a GSD. With the lab it does well on wood floors and self-emptying works great. However on shag it does leave some rolled up clumps of hair that I can grab by hand when it's done. Now own three different vacs and a carpet cleaner for a 1000 sq ft condo... but he's the best dog ever so it's all good. r/RobotVacuumsDo you really need the newest robot vacuum to get a great experience?

I'm still using mu Roomba e6 , i7+ and Briavia mopper and they work perfectly in cleaning my place. IMO, no need for the newest most expensive robot :)

I \_just\_ moved from Roomba (i7+) to Roborock (Qrevo CurvX) a couple weeks ago and still have two i7+'s running (or trying to run) on the other levels of my home. In almost every way, the Roborock makes the Roomba feel like it's a hundred years old. In other ways, likely related to stupid patents, the Roomba is better. \* The Roomba empties the bin whenever it's full. Gotta play settings games in Roborock and hope it gets it right. \* The roomba will back up and re-vacuum and area where it detects more dirt. This will also be reflected in the map after a run, which matters not at all except to give you a sense of "yeah, I did see a mess there. So it's working." \* I can save "zones" to clean in rather than set them up every time or make them part of a routine. This is such an oversight that I have to believe it's also patent-related.

We have a Roomba i7+, so I can’t speak to the devices with a mopping feature. I think ours is just okay. We have a German Shepherd so I’m constantly cleaning tanged hair from the brushes. It does okay on our Ruggables but sometimes gets caught on the edges or leaves big tufts of hair behind. I think if I ran it daily, we might avoid it leaving the tufts behind, but I’m honestly tired of cleaning the brushes with a scissors 😩

r/RobotVacuumsNeed Real Feedback Before I Drop $$$ – Roborock, Dreame, Ecovacs, Eufy… (or Others) - Help Me Decide
8 months ago

I have both Roborock Saros 10R and Eufy e28 on your list for a couple of weeks now. And for now I decided to keep both. Posted a review earlier: https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/s/PW7vVWd6uN From my limited research, Roborock seems to be the most reliable brand, with Eufy coming in second. I also had a Roomba i7+ for about 3 years. I would say for vacuuming performance, 10R and e28 would not exceed your i8, but they are much better in other aspects, such as navigation and mopping. If your floor is mostly tile, both should do fine. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

r/BuyItForLifeThe Best Robot Vacuum that Lasts?

I bought a Roomba i7+ back in 2020 and it recently turned 5! I've used cheap Amazon replacement parts and it still does a good job. ALTHOUGH! iRobot corporate had been having some issues lately. They were supposed to be acquired by Amazon but that deal fell through. I think they almost went bankrupt as well. If I were to buy a new robot vacuum today, I would likely be eyeing roborock. Lastly, regarding these robot vacuums, I'm pretty firm on the saying "you get what you pay for" within this genre of purchases.

r/BuyItForLifePet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well?

Anecdotally, I got about 8 months out of a roomba before the thing went feral. It would try to get out the backdoor and down the deck stairs. After awhile it would just come out of the dock, spin, and go back home. Support was useless and felt more like a scheme to get me to buy more bits and add ons. I have friends who have told me the same.

Yeah maybe pets has something to do with it. We have dogs that shed a lot. It just got to the point where I was doing more babysitting of the vacuum than actual vacuuming.

r/RobotVacuumsI very strongly, STRONGLY recommend against getting a Roomba
7 months ago

I have an i7+ that is an absolute trooper. Works great with very little attention from me...have a couple of Aussies, so hair does wrap up in the rollers, but not much outside of that...just change the bag and filter when needed. Two years ago, I bought the Roomba Combo...I think I grabbed it shortly after its release on a $400 off sale...that should've been the first red flag for me, but I've had Roombas forever and they always improve. Never again...what a POS this thing is. Never empties the bin on its own. That sliver of a mop pad must be for laboratory clean homes...it just trowels the dirt out over the entire area as it is saturated with dirt quickly. Software updates are finished, apparently. They did sent me a replacement while still under warranty, which is only slightly less horrible than the original unit...it returned to the base to empty its bin once. I was so excited to finally see this happen. Never did it again...just docks and notifies me the bin is full. Doesn't matter how clean I keep the bin cover and the sensors. Auto-bin empty cycle never works...I have to use the app and empty the bin myself. Because of that, I can only clean one room at a time, or that daffy thing will PACK that dirt bin FULL and then some... The Braava Jet 6 I have (paired to the i7+ routines) does way better...it's wheels are worn and has issues getting off its dock and, gasp, no way to replace them. Otherwise, its been a great little machine. I will never purchase another Roomba. That was cemented by the lackluster (that is being generous) support I received...they were just reading a script and no matter who I got, I got all the same feedback. I asked each time...don't you have me in the system and record our discussions each time I contact you with the results of what I was asked to do previously?

r/RobotVacuumsrobot vacs you've used for YEARS

Hearing about longevity is great!! The issue is that current models change and may not have the longevity of the old ones. With that said… We bought an iRobot i7 with the emptying base in 2019. We have recently replaced his battery but he still cleans everyday. He has nearly 2000 hours of vacuuming and paired well with the M6. I try and “bathe” him weekly cleaning brushes and blowing dust out of sensors and what not, but generally speaking they are still going strong. Just to be honest within the last 2 weeks we purchased a 705 max and he is brilliant. mapped the main floor in 15 min and can clean the whole thing in an hour. All while avoiding obstacles like errant socks and cables that the i7 didn’t know to look for. The i7 is great, but i don’t always have time to tidy the house before the scheduled run (which is part of why i like him. it kinda forces people to pick up after themselves until it just became me picking up after everyone for the bot)
