r/VacuumCleanersMy grandma's vacuum just died after 50 years. What's the closest I can get to THAT kind of reliability today?

I dunno man I got me a new to me but prolly pretty old roomba i1+ and I'd be lying if I didnt run that through my place every Mondays Wednesdays Fridays and Saturdays even tho I have 2 sebos and a miele the floor just doesn't have that just back from the dentist smoothness that I now fully expect every inch of floor to feel like at all times.

r/stupidquestionsFor those who use Roomba or the like for cleaning floors, does it do a good job of replacing the cleaning method(s) used prior to it?

Roomba i2 was good at keeping things in control, but it could not get cat hair out of the carpet as well as our Shark Rotator. On the hardwood it was great.

I got this too. My i1 has been having issues charging and I was actually looking for batteries. This couldn’t have been better timing for me! Congrats!

r/dogsIs a Roomba-like vacuum worth it for dogs? I need to be de-influenced for my wallets sake

I boarded dogs in my house for 8 years, I got one of the beefed up roombas made specifically for pet hair and it helped cut down on the daily sweeping/vacuum. Still gotta break out the big vac and do a deep clean once a week but the roomba keeps it clean enough each day that you won’t notice a ton of hair floating around. If cost me 1k but it’s been going strong for all that time.

r/roombaThinking of getting my first Roomba but does it pick up dog hair?

If you do I recommend the I or J series because no other brand or even roomba model has a dust bin sensor to tell the robot to self empty when it’s full.

I bought one a while ago for the novelty since it was a black Friday sale (and I suck at keeping a schedule to vacum. Didn’t have mapping but I thought it would be smart enough to still navigate just fine. Instead it just rams into things then randomly changes direction. Meanwhile, a coworker bought some  bootleg that cost a fraction of the price and it runs flawlessly. All the extra shit that roomba charges for in it’s higher tier models are included for free.  Never buying another roomba product. They’ve clearly just been coasting off of brand recognition.

Skip iRobot and Eufy, go with Roborock. I have two J series Roombas and they have numerous issues that would keep me from buying their brand again. I saw my friend's Roborock in action and I would 100% get that next when one of our Roombas fail

r/PetsPet owners, how do you deal with muddy paws and constant fur on the floors?

I bought a Roomba that can mop and vacuum (pricey models are great). I bought a bunch of replacement rags/mops on Temu for a few euros, and exchange them every now and then. All you have to do besides that is fill its water tank with clean water and floor soap. I also went on my Roomba's App, drew out a map of my house, and set a cleaning schedule for every single day on setting 'deep clean'. And he keeps the floors like 98% spotless, while we have 2 long-haired dogs and 1 short hair cat. We still vacuum and mop ourselves like once a week or so. But if need be we could easily skip that. The difference has been amazing. Googly eyes are optional. ;) Why do it yourself if a robot can do it for you?

I love my Roomba (no mop), and have owned it since Covid. Use my Upright e/o week, then Roomba 3-4 days each week. Am Amazed at the amount of lint/dust/hair/crud I find in Roomba on day-1 after 4 days of not using either. The upright bag needs replacing only once a year.
