"We have three kids, two dogs, and a cat that sheds more than both dogs combined, and having robot vacuums has been a game changer. ... But the robot keeps the main areas of the house from getting hairballs and dirty."

"No more golden tumble weeds lining the hallway"

"I've had my roomba for like 5 years now.. We have 3 big dogs and a cat, in a small house. Still works great, I've replaced the brushes and obviously the filters on it but it still works awesome."

"I upgraded to a roomba with the self emptying thing and I love it."

"Self emptying is the best upgrade ... haaaated emptying that thing constantly"

"Now we have two good ones (iRobot) with the bin that they self empty into when they get full. ... Before we got the one with the bins, it would get full and need emptying before it finished a whole cycle. Now it goes and empties itself and then goes back to cleaning."

"I bought one well over a year ago possibly on year 2. ... If it only lasted a year I’d buy another one. ... It works as well as it did when I bought it."

Do you mean one like the 504 plus? The green roller, rubber brushes? Mine doesn't do that but it is new.

I have a golden retriever and just got the Roomba 504 Plus. I love it! No more golden tumble weeds lining the hallway and it empties itself 🙂

I just went from a roomba i3 to a Roomba plus 504, it's a vacuum with an auto empty dock. Two giant dogs, tile/rugs/carpet in our home and expecting our first baby. This version is smarter and quieter than our last one, with multiple cleaning modes (smart, spot, standard, and deep) and the map is user friendly! I can just select what rooms I want and what type of vacuuming I want and it does it's thing. If it gets too full mid job it goes and empties itself. The auto dock is loud like a shop vac or tiny jet, but it's only about 10 seconds of noise and it's done. The dock lets you know when the bag is full. I work 10 hour days and come home, eat dinner, and while I shower I select a room or two for it to go to town on. It doesn't bump into stuff like the i3 did because it has a front camera, headlight, and better LiDAR system. I know Roomba is facing a financial crisis and potential bankruptcy, but I'm not regretting my purchase whatsoever. I got it on sale for black Friday from Amazon for 379 (and then it went down further to 329 lol)

You care about mopping? If not then I’d recommend the 504 plus or the 705 plus. 504 plus is same as 705 plus except a bit lower suction power

We have three dogs and one being a Golden Retriever. Our 15 year old 500 series Roomba has zero issues cleaning that.

r/RoborockSo in the history of all robotics created, what is the best robot vacuum?

Neato XV series for being awesome and being the first robot vacuum to feature a lidar sensor roomba 500 series, for a while they were the most popular robot vacuums ever made and still the most reliable, other than battery replacements they can last more than 15 years without issues Roomba 980, the thing is still a beast at cleaning and the navigation is good enough. No keep out zones or anything but it does its job well

r/RobotVacuumsLooking for a “dumb” robot vacuum that still has scheduling. Any advice?

The older Roombas could be set to clean once per day at a specified time, so you could have 7 scheduled cleanings. There are buttons to set the clock and then a cleaning time for each day of the week. I still have 2 of them, one is a 650 and the other is a 500 something. I don't think they make them anymore, but I am sure you could find one. These 2 both still work. I don't have an app for them, but I have a 3 foot dowel rod I use to push the start button, If you have connection problems or simply don't want to connect to the internet, the solution is to not connect. Just push the start button. The advantage of the Roomba brand is that you can get replacement parts easily and they run forever. There's lots of info on how to repair them. Don't know if the other brands have that knowledge base yet.

I Jumped the Robo Vacs wagon with a cheap " bump and go " to see if it was a fit for me.. Finally gave up after 3 years, RIP, so decided to get into the new Roomba line with Lidar and " advertised" better bells and whistles.. My dead $80 Vac beats the hell put of the $250 I paid for this crap and the headaches I endured with the software wasn't worth it.. Still after many updates, my Lefants software was better than this one.. Roomba is on it's way out and rightfully so..

r/RobotVacuumsHow do you guys make your robot vacuums last longer?

My Roomba is also lasting like forever, I just replace the battery every couple years and it still comes back with a lot of debris it captured. The bot is 880. Also their new LiDAR bot is high quality too

r/IsItBullshitIsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money?

We love ours. We have one for upstairs and downstairs. Don’t try to get a cheap one, we did that and went through a couple of them pretty quickly. Now we have two good ones (iRobot) with the bin that they self empty into when they get full. We have three kids, two dogs, and a cat that sheds more than both dogs combined, and having robot vacuums has been a game changer. Before we got the one with the bins, it would get full and need emptying before it finished a whole cycle. Now it goes and empties itself and then goes back to cleaning. It’s some trial and error at first. Just run it the first few times when you’re watching it to see where it has any problems. Then you can try to adjust any problem areas. Our upstairs vacuum doesn’t go into the bedrooms because the kids have lots of tiny Barbie shoes and stuff. We have them clean up good and just regular vacuum real quick every other week or so (and we keep bedroom doors closed so the pets don’t go in there to keep hair shedding out). But the robot keeps the main areas of the house from getting hairballs and dirty. We recently got a robot mop as well, and that has been awesome! I feel like it’s just like having any other vacuum. You have to get everything picked up off the floor before you start. You wouldn’t start regular vacuuming with things still on the floor. If there are areas that it gets stuck often, either block it off or try to adjust any problem areas. We usually pull all of the dining room chairs away from the table so that it can get a good clean under the table and around it. We run the vacuums & mop anytime we leave the house, and it’s so nice coming home to freshly vacuumed and mopped floors!

I have 330lbs of Great Dane in my house (that's 2), if you have shedding pets, get a robot that empties itself. I did, I bought the iRobot one. More specifically, bought the one with the station to empty itself. Other than that, the s9+ does a great job on my floors. I run it every other day because Great Danes...
