"My robot can actively detect cables and all kinds of other stuff and work around it. So it never really gets stuck despite random kids toys, dog toys, cables etc not always getting picked up. ... It does pretty good with moving obstacles. Like if my dogs or I walk in front of it while doing its thing it will stop to not run into us, then if we move it recognizes the space is free and will go over that spot. It will work around my dog if she's being stubborn and just laying on the floor in the way."

Narwal Is the only robot that even attempts to clean the baseboard but the only thing the frio z or x does is run a muff along it. It doesn't actually clean. It's a duster. And the frio x and z have some other problems. Notably they are water hogs and you have to refill the water all the time. After every single run.

My enthusiasm is based on three factors. The first is never having to change the water. The second and arguably more important one is that this is the only robot I've ever tested that never got clogged. If you live with animals or kids, you have to breathe larger than Cheerios on your floor. And no matter what anyone says, almost every robot in the world struggles with debris that size. But I could show you video of the 3i literally eating everything on the floor. It was insane to watch. Those two front. Sweepers are the most efficient that I've ever seen. Just fantastic. And then the third is that the mop which is a roller actually extends out as opposed to a number of robots that have gotten into rollers but they don't extend. I mean I know it sounds like I'm paid by the company but I assure you, I am not. It was just the best unit I've ever used and I've held on to it.

It's a toss-up under these conditions. The freo z is a good model but a water hog. You can read my review of it. You have to change the water so often that it's a deal-breaker for me. Now they have a kit so you can wire it to your water line and you don't have to change it anymore but that's 200 bucks. So now we're talking about the cost of the freo plus the water line kit versus the l40. I keep recommending the l40 not because I thought it was a really great premium robot. It was a just fine premium robot. But when you compare it to other $500 robots, it blows them out of the water. So tldr, l40 ultra.

Oy. First, you're doing great... I suffer from the same problems which is why I got into robots. And they DO help. my mood is so much better just seeing the clean floor. I do think it'll help with that. It'll still need SOME intervention, so set expectations right. but... that's ok. its going to get much better. Generally, i would say that as crappy as it is, you get more when you pay more. but that doesn't mean you NEED more... some features are just nice to have, not essential. So don't feel you NEED the 3i S10 or the Saros 10. You can get away with less. So my main concerns are the pet accidents and the cooking messes. My vacuums struggle most in the kitchen, because I drop stuff while cooking, and while it can deal with small stuff (under the size of a cheerio) bigger stuff is an issue. Also, very few mops are good enough to get out kitchen stains on their own. But I have another solution for that! If you can clean up the bigger stuff, you'll be a lot happier w the robots performance. On the pet messes... almost every vacuum out there, certainly the ones you mention, have poop avoidance. So you're good. Urine is different.... but on some level, you want the robot to get those, anyways. I don't like the Eufy bots. Ive explained why over and over again, but that's also just me. Lots of people are super happy with them, but that won't make me recommend them. I love the S8 MaxV Ultra, and its universally liked in the industry, so that's not just me. I feel like the Saros 10 is an incremental improvement over the S8, so its worth a few extra hundred bucks, but not like, 700$. I LOVE the 3i... but people have rightful concerns.. its a new company. Its VERY heavy. its a tall robot. I'm very, very happy with it, and its gotten very good reviews from other outlets like vacuum wars and tom's... so I feel pretty good about it, but I like it for you for a different reason. Its autonomous. You don't ever have to change the water, and it vacuums up EVERYTHING. ALL THE THINGS. big, small, whatever.

# [Under $300](https://amzn.to/48R0G4J) Generally speaking, I think its rare you find a great robot at this price, and I've discussed why there's some sense in [not spending the money on real discount robots](https://www.whatrobotvacuumshouldiget.com/2025/06/20/are-budget-robot-vacuums-worth-buying/). Still... there are a few gems worth looking at, as more expensive models drop under this threshold. If you've got a smaller place, or a place with many floor objects, try a Switchbot. Because they're so small, they can get between chair legs and make a small radius around things. Switchbot just doesn't get enough attention, IMO. Lots of people purchased the K10+ Pro on my recommendation during Prime Day and have posted about how happy they are. The 11 made the tower smaller and improved some other specs, but is mostly the same model. The perfect apartment, studio, or office vac. Performs spectacularly well as a vacuum, particularly given the price and stats, but it is ONLY a vacuum. If you're more concerned about a mop, get the 3i. (its great at both, to be clear, but it has the best mop of the bunch). I really like the 3i brand, they're not new, they've been making robots for other companies for years. The G10 is stripped down from premium models, but it had the same sweeper>roller design that is so effective on the higher end models. If you're looking for a carpet forward model, Eureka is the only legacy vacuum brand that successfully transitioned to robots that work. While no brand has great customer service anymore, there's a benefit to Eureka being US based. No waiting 24 hours for a response. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://amzn.to/4mOxq1O)|399.99|224.99|44%| |[3i G10+](https://amzn.to/48znS7N)|$449.99|$269.99|40%| |[Eureka E20 Plus](https://amzn.to/4mOwQBd)|449.99|299.99|33%| # [Under $500](https://amzn.to/4o4MPMA) Were seeing some amazing deals in this price band. That L40 Ultra has dropped from the original price of $1499 to under $500. So many people have been grabbing this model since Prime Day and most of them report being quite happy. While it wouldn't have been my favorite at a higher price, at this price, you're getting a premium model at an absurd sale price. I absolutely love the 3i current line up. The vacuum and mop are both fantastic and the app-easy. This is basically my top pick (3i S10 Ultra) minus the dehumidifier. The P10 still has the great sweep/roller design and gets up debris no other brand can without getting clogged. Get this one if you're concerned about larger debris. The Eureka is better than it should be. I loved the sweeper design, it moved debris off hard floors and carpet very effectively and would be my pick for carpet. Rarely got stuck on anything or reported errors, and it was just really reliable. I recommended this model during Prime Day, and got a lot of good feedback from folks who picked it up. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Dreame L40 Ultra](https://amzn.to/48Rswhk)|$799.99|$469.99|41%   | |[Eureka J15 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4gUYACY)|699.99|489.99|30%| |[3i P10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4h1Sy3y)|$1,099.99|$469.99|55%| # [Under $750](https://amzn.to/4nypaUV) Roborock has won my loyalty over the past few years by producing consistently reliable robots, and the S5A is no different. A variant of the Qrevo line, with spinning mop heads that extend. While Roborock may produce an absurd number of models, and the S5A is no exception, they are reliable for an exceptional app experience, with intuitive setting locations, great support and good hardware with easy to find replacement parts. The L40S is the best of both worlds. A premium vac, at a not premium price for now. This is the model with the best balance on this list, of vacuum and mop. It improves over the L40 in the previous band with better nav and suction. Finally, if you want to emphasize mopping, Narwal does it really well. My two issues w this model are that it uses a ridiculous amount of water and there's a giant button on top of the machine your pet or kid will want to bop. If you don't mind refilling a lot, and you dig into the settings to lock the button (or don't have kids/pets) this is ideal. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Narwal Freo Z Ultra (White Version)](https://amzn.to/46IEhUI)|$1,499.99|$550.00|63%| |[Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A](https://amzn.to/46ZYXI5)|$999.99|$649.99|35%| |[Dreame L40s Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o5ARCv)|$1,099.99|$749.99|32%| # [Under $900 ](https://amzn.to/4oad9oS) From the day it was released, I thought the Curv was a steal, most of the premium features of the S8 line, at a better price with improvements to the sweeps, extending out beyond the robot. The CurvX improves on the Curv with higher Pa and better nav. I do think its a better vacuum than mop. The X9 is a better mop than vacuum. but other than getting clogged here and there, was generally a good vacuum, and this is a reasonable price for it. Eureka is the best surprise this year. The J15 line is consistent and reliably performing. I love the sweeps, its a very effective mop and carpet cleaner and offers US based support. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[Ecovacs x9 Pro Omni](https://amzn.to/46CySzK)|$1,599.00|$899.00|44%| |[Eureka J15 Max Ultra](https://amzn.to/46UkK3x)|1199.99|$899.00|25%| |[Roborock Qrevo CurvX](https://amzn.to/48PvS4j)|$1,499.99|$899.99|40%| # [Over $900 ](https://amzn.to/48OKBMY) In this band are my top two recommendations. Let's start with my favorite robot of all time (a BIG statement). 3i has been making robots for other brands for a while, but the 3i is their first flagship. The S10 Ultra blew me away and became the only robot I've ever kept after testing. It will vacuum anything, without getting stuck or clogged. I mean, giant pieces of mulch. No problem. It cleans water on its own and generates more from the air, so it truly is set it and forget it. Totally autonomous. I've been yapping about it for months, and of everyone who bought it during Prime Day, I'd say people were split, 60/40. Most loved it, but some complained of a musty smell, which makes sense, since the unit is basically a dehumidifier (that's how it generates water). I've had mine for 6 months and don't notice a smell in a very wet state (Oregon), but it seems like something worth noting. So let's talk about the Flow. I tested the Dreame and Narwal roller mops, (and previously, the Eufy roller mops). Everyone is obsessed with roller mops, but the Flow is the first one I recommend. The flow improves on the Freo Z and X by not needing to be refilled constantly, and the vacuum improves over all other Narwal models. I still don't think roller mops are the end all/be all, so I wouldn't recommend dropping $1500 of this model, but I do think the Flow is worth buying at this sale price. |**Model**|**Original Price**|**BDD Price**|**Discount**| |:-|:-|:-|:-| |[3i S10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o7hKIe)|$1,899.99|$1,099.99|42%| |[Narwal Flow](https://amzn.to/3IxMoLX)|$1,499.99|$1,099.99|27%| If you're looking for ALL the models on sale for Big Deal Days, they're [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nvsulx/every_robovac_on_sale_for_amazon_big_deal_days/) or s[ee all sales models at once](https://amzn.to/4nt1sJH). Hey. Because you're all hard floor and you named some specific features, I thought I'd talk through this with you. So, Pa is important, sure, but I'm testing robots with absurdly high Pa (over 20k) that miss a lot of debris, and then there's the Switchbot K10+ which has almost no Pa and gets most stuff up. I believe, strongly, that Pa matters less than people think (and marketing people at big brands agree, they keep upping Pa because consumers name it as their main decision making factor). What matters is the design and location of the sweeps in relation to the roller. I say all this because on hard floors, you see ALL the cat hair and litter... so that design is even more important. Navigating around toys: easy. Everyone does it well. Cords? No one does it well. Debris management: 3 months in between changing the bag isn't a big deal. I think you'll be fine. mova v50- low end parts. dreame L50- wasn't bad, but thought the vacuum left a lot to be desired. narwal freo z10, narwal freo z ultra- opposite of no maintenance. you'll be refilling the water every day. eufy e28-has the right sweep/roller design, but was riddled with errors and leaks roborock qrevo curv s5x. dreame x50- good option. I’ve actually been using the Narwal Freo Z Ultra for about 7 months now, and I’m honestly super happy with it — especially when it comes to obstacle avoidance (which was a huge concern for me too).It uses a dual-camera system + dual AI chips, so it’s surprisingly smart at dodging stuff. I’ve got a dog too, and between toys, cords, and the occasional… accident 😅, it’s done a great job steering clear. I haven’t had any “poopocalypse” incidents since switching. Also love that it separates dirty and clean water tanks for mopping (dry/wet separation is legit), and it’s really quiet when it runs — I barely notice it. Can’t speak for the Dreame X40 Ultra, but from my own daily use, the Freo Z Ultra has been totally worth it.

i have a small dog too, so i get the concern — hair builds up fast. i’ve been using the narwal freo z ultra lately and it’s handled the shedding pretty well. the brush doesn’t really get tangled, and it cleans the mop by itself which is nice. not perfect, but for mostly hard floors and some rugs like you mentioned, it’s been solid so far.

My situation is pretty similar. I have one dog, rugs, and the floor is always a mess, though mine are wood instead of tile. I’ve been using the Freo Z Ultra for about 8 months and it’s been great. The obstacle avoidance is really solid and it picks up pet hair really well. Definitely worth a look if you’re dealing with the same kind of chaos.

I’ve had the Narwal Freo Z Ultra for almost a year. It’s been great. Picks up dirt well, mops fine, and rarely gets stuck. One thing I really like is the obstacle avoidance, works better than I expected. It does use a bit more water than I expected, but that’s never been a big deal for me, I don’t mind that. Feels worth it for how clean the floors get. No major issues so far. Would recommend if you want something that just works.

Generally: Dreame will have the best edge cleaning. This is on the x30 ultra and newer with the L/X40 ultra and newer models having an extendable side brush with the best extension algorithm right now. Mop extension lacks a spring which means it can ride up on quarter round floor moldings if your home has any. Roborock Saros 10R and the QRevo Edge/Curv are nice choices if there are no cables or pet accidents for it to eat. Narwal is a very solid option. The Freo Z ultra has the best smart cleaning mode. It’s okay taking care of things like hair and visible dust but still isn’t as good as vacuuming as it is at mopping. Eufy s1 pro is a very solid mopping option. Won’t edge clean as well as the above models but mops pretty well.

Yep this is sadly true. Dreame, roborock, and Narwal don’t have good customer service compared to Eufy and Xiaomi (if this brand is available). It seems iRobot is also struggling with customer service so I’d recommend buying robots from an authorized retailer like Costco for easier customer service if you need to return it if it’s defective.

The Freo Z ultra sadly isn’t as great at mopping as it is at vacuuming buttttt it’s smart cleaning “Freo” mode is currently the best. MOVA P10 Pro Ultra can also be considered for about 1000 CAD last time I checked on Amazon. It’s essentially the Dreame L40 Ultra without mop removal. MOVA is a dreame subbrand.

What is your purchasing region? I recommend you pair it to your phone then share the robot with your grandparents’ account or log into your account on their phone. You can then set it up for them and put it on a schedule. Roborock’s app ui seems to be the easiest. NarWal’s app also looks pretty easy to use. NarWal’s base station will be the easiest to clean and is easily compatible with a water exchanging module that can be hooked up to your water line. Of course you need to give it a good clean once every few weeks or so. Dreame’s app is simply too overwhelming with all the customization.

Currently, the Eufy S1 Pro and the Narwal Freo Z Ultra's mopping performance is closest to that of a regular mop and bucket. Of course, it cannot replace manual mopping with a vacuum mop machine or a good spin mop, but it reduces the frequency of having to do so. The same goes for vacuuming. If you expect it to take care of fur + cat litter on the floor, it'll work just fine. New models, such as the MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow, which have a much better track-type roller mop and much better mopping, are being launched this year in the US, afaik. What do you mean by easy and minimal management of the robot? Please explain more about what you expect from your little helper so we can better understand <3 Please do share your purchasing region (usually country), your expected budget in your local currency, and your home environment\~ **Your home environment** (copied and pasted): Flooring and care requirements, if any. Is long hair and/or pet fur frequently shed at home? Do you have any pets? If so, do your pets make messes that can be cleaned up by a robot (drool, fur balls) and/or do they make messes that cannot be cleaned up by a robot (vomit/feces/pee)? Does your pet have sensitive skin? If your pet uses a litter box, do they frequently spill the litter outside the box? How much do you value privacy? Would you be okay with the robot having its own RGB camera and LED light moving around or a robot without this and only laser distance sensors (LDS) and ultrasound sensors? There is generally a trade-off between object recognition and privacy. For mopping Do you live in a region of hard or soft water? Are you planning to connect this model to a water line? Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.

Roborock’s QRevo series and the Narwal Freo series with the all in one base station have completely removable mop pad cleaning trays (narwal’s Freo X Ultra, Freo Pro, and Freo Z’s entire bottom tray can be easily removed for cleaning). There is also the dreame x50 ultra with the AceClean system but I think it’s too expensive right now

Roborock isn’t as good as other brands when it comes to poop avoidance. Dreame, Eufy S1 pro, and Narwal are much better at this. MOVA is a subbrand of dreame. Narwhal Freo Z ultra Narwal flow should be better for carpets though but the lack of any hair tangle measures on the mop is an issue considering how the MOVA Z50 Ultra which mops great and works great with long hair with similar poop avoidance performance has combs to help with hair tangles on the mop. Eufy also doesn’t have very good carpet cleaning and as good edge cleaning compared to the previous two An all rounder should be the dreame X50 Ultra for fur compression if there are heavy shedders or the dreame x40 ultra/ MOVA P10 Pro Ultra if the main issue is mainly just long hair.

How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.

Many robots cannot mop with warm or hot water. This is currently a new feature on upright vacuum mop combos. Currently there is only hot water mop washing on most models. The roborock Saros 10 claims to mop with hot water up to 70° and the Saros 10R claims to mop with warm water. I am skeptical of this claim as it doesn’t use a roller mop where it feasibly could live up to this claim. There is the upcoming MOVA Z50 Ultra that can mop with constant 36° water as it has a track type roller mop which makes this claim achievable. Generally, most robot vacuums also do fail when it comes to living up to the hot water mop washing claim. Dreame made models do reach the advertised temperature but it is mainly only for a moment and it’ll usually be washing the mops with lukewarm to warm water In the EU market, I’d recommend Xiaomi as the most cost effective robot vacuum mop combo brand unless you’d like the extra bells and whistles such as hot water mop washing + mop extension where it’ll be better to consider brands like dreame. Most of its combo models are compatible with the anti-tangling dreame TriCut brush. It works well in my home with a long haired corgi and people with long hair. The Xiaomi x20 pro looks rather nice. For obstacle avoidance, please tidy up your cables. Most LDS-only robots are rather stupid when it comes to reflective or transparent walls. I recommend models with good obstacle avoidance if your cat makes messes robots cannot clean and must avoid at all costs. This usually requires RGB cameras. If the best obstacle avoidance is what you’re looking for: Narwal Freo Z ultra or any of their RGB camera enabled robots. It currently seems to have the best (not perfect!) smart cleaning mode. Its strength lies in its good mopping and anti-tangling but sadly not vacuuming. Dreame RGB camera enabled models starting from the X30 Ultra and onwards. MOVA is a subbrand of dreame so RGB camera enabled robots from the P10 Pro Ultra and newer will perform similarly as it will use the same obstacle avoidance software. Dreame is a rather good all rounder combo robot with the best edge cleaning. Antitangling performance is also rather good. Eufy S1 Pro and other models that will use the “3D Matrix” binocular infrared 3D dToF sensor array. Roborock is also a good all rounder with the easiest app to use but it will not be as good avoiding obstacles such as cables and pet messes compared to other brands, especially on carpets. For self cleaning: Dreame/MOVA models with the AceClean dryboard where water jets are used to clean the mops. The x50 ultra will be best at self cleaning including cleaning its own filter when autoemptying but it is currently outside your budget. > dreame models that use the self driven wipers on the mop washboard ≈ roborock models using a mop washboard with motorized wipers ≈ NarWal’s mop washboard where they flush the washboard with water before and after washing the mops.

Eufy is not mentioned because it does not have this capability. Best mopping: Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra has the best raw mopping performance. If your pets are stinky, the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track or the MOVA V50 Ultra will be my recommendation as it has the duosolution detergent tank which means it can use a special odor neutralizing solution or your regular floor cleaning solution based on your preferences set in the app. The MOVA V50 Ultra does mop better than the Dreame X50 Ultra because it can spin its mops up to 260rpm when it detects dried on stains and liquids and because it has a new mop pad holder that basically has suspension as it can go up 2mm and down 1mm downwards and tilt up to 5° to put as even pressure as possible on uneven floors. Honorable mention: Narwal Freo Z Ultra. Shame it cannot lift its side brushes. Variable mopping pressure of 8-12N but pales in comparison to the 18N of mopping pressure by the Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra. Best software for detecting liquids and appropriately dealing with them: Dreame L/X40 and newer including the Aqua 10 pro track based on reviews. The MOVA Z50 ultra and the other MOVA models mentioned are also pretty good too at detecting liquids. Previously mentioned Roborock and Narwal models also seem to do well. I think all the models I mentioned should be on par for automatic remopping. Hardware: All models I mentioned should have a solid build quality.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

Both the Narwal Freo Z Ultra and the Dreame L/X40 Ultra do well avoiding cables and pet messes. Only difference is that the Dreame has to backtrack a bit for the computer to process the distance and whatnot since it only has one RGB camera but the Narwal Freo Z Ultra doesn't need to do this as it has binocular RGB cameras.

I think the Narwal Freo Z Ultra is the “smartest” of them all for smart cleaning but won’t do so well for vacuuming as mopping is its key strength. The Matic seems to be rather smart too but it is US-only. Object avoidance: Dreame, eufy S1 Pro, and the Narwal Freo Z ultra will do the best. Narwal’s binocular RGB cameras mean it avoids them smoothly. Dreame’s own binocular RGB cameras on the Aqua 10 pro track show similar smoothness when avoiding obstacles. Hair and fur: Dreame and MOVA’s duostream brushes, eufy E25/E28 DuoDivide dupe brushes, roborock DuoDivide brushes, Narwal’s conical brush, > dreame TriCut brush

MOVA's Z50 Ultra is even better than the Eufy S1 Pro at mopping and performs decently with hair as it has a 300mL dustbin and the Dreame Tricut brush, which has worked well in my home with long hair and a long-haired corgi. I'd get this from Harvey Norman (with a protection plan for easy returns/replacement). JB HIFI seems to be harder with returns as users report JB HIFI needing to confirm with the manufacturer. Unfortunately, the good EOFY sale price of about 2000 AUD is now gone and it now sells at 3000 (ouch..), and no official plumbing kit is sold in Australia (get it from aliexpress or Taobao). If there's no threshold taller than 2.2 cm in your home, I'd check out the L40s Pro Ultra, which is essentially the Dreame X50 Ultra without the enhanced threshold crossing and retractable LIDAR. However, the battery life on the X50 Ultra and the L40s Pro Ultra isn't that good compared to the older Dreame models and the MOVA Z50 Ultra... As for food, I'm afraid no robot can sufficiently take care of this without making a mess you have to clean up. But good ones should identify food that isn't crumbs and avoid it, and tell you so in the app. The Narwal Freo Z Ultra will have the best smart cleaning mode and arguably the best robot mopper with spinning mops, but is rather water inefficient for larger homes, so connecting it to your plumbing is basically a must.

Sadly, I couldn't find the MOVA z50 Ultra on Amazon, and it seems the only other sales date will be during Black Friday in November :( If you're really insistent on the MOVA Z50 Ultra, I'll ask MOVA about any possible discounts. For the other robots: The Narwal Freo Z Ultra will feature the best smart cleaning mode, allowing for hands-off cleaning without requiring in-depth settings adjustments, thanks to its significantly improved computer vision compared to the Roborock S10R. However, roborock's Saros 10R app is easier to use and there are less disposables than the Narwal Freo Z Ultra's dustbin has a disposable plastic thing, which narwal says means its easier reducing the need to clean, but I think this just makes more waste and is unnecessary if you can give the dusbin a good clean. Go for the Roborock saros 10R for a good app and roborock reliability. Go for the Narwal Freo Z Ultra if you really want AI cleaning that's more than just a shoehorned buzzword.

A lot of progress has been made from 2017-now. Some are generally a lot smarter (the Narwal Freo Z ultra is the best at this with great mopping and arguably the best smart cleaning mode but vacuuming isn’t that great but probably better than an iLife or a shark). Some are smarter and quieter (dreame X50 ultra) and can also reach into corners well. The smart ones are good at avoiding cords, pet poop, and knowing which areas should be cleaned more intensely. Combo Robots with an antitangle brush are now rather mainstream and much cheaper. The new progress being made is improving the mopping on combo robots, making it even quieter, and improving the robot’s ability to clean itself and the base station.

Vacuuming: dreame (bristle brush) and Roborock Great obstacle avoidance: Eufy s1 pro (you can consider this one too even though it uses a roller mop as it also mops well), dreame models from X30 Ultra (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra as it is a subbrand), and Narwal Freo Z Ultra These are the only ones I know that are very cord free with obstacle avoidance. Roborock is behind in obstacle avoidance. Remop and clean mop pads again if needed: same dreame/mova models as before and the Narwal Freo Z ultra For uneven tiles, I recommend you wait for the upcoming dreame X50 Ultra as their mop holders can tilt by 5° for uneven flooring. You can further enhance the mopping by using plusher mop pads like Narwal or Roborock’s. I also recommend waiting for CES 2025 to finish as new models by these brands will be announced there! Dreame will also have a new robot with a roller mop that will be even better than their subbrand MOVA’s Z5 which is currently the best mopping robot on the market which uses a crawling mop.

What's your budget in your local currency? In the eurozone (not sure for Eastern Europe), the Narwal Freo Z Ultra is at 599 euros (may be cheaper or more expensive). Other than having to constantly refill and empty the water tanks (which is why I recommend connecting this model to the water line), it's rather autonomous, with many pet owners loving the anti-tangle brush and pretty easy to clean. For autonomy, I prioritize: no fur tangling (if hair and fur are a concern), easy to clean and is good at cleaning itself (including the mop washboard), and doesn't get stuck on things because of good obstacle avoidance

>First, I really liked the [Freo Z](https://lifehacker.com/tech/narwal-freo-z-ultra-is-a-great-mop-but-a-water-hog) when I reviewed it… my main complaint, and it was a real dealbreaker, was that the Freo needed to be refilled ALL THE TIME. like, after every mop run. That’s refilling the clean water and dumping the dirty water. Hard pass. But… Narwal sells a kit so you can pipe the robot into your water line. Oh, and that kit is $200, so technically this is just over $1000, but still worth it, IMO, since it’s $500 off. \- Amanda's thoughts on the Freo Z Ultra, the closest model to the Z10. You'd have to constantly refill it unlike the Dreame which is more water efficient.

I just lost the draft of the comment I was writing on here TvT The brands best at obstacle avoidance are dreame eufy and Narwal. Recommendations come from cheapest to highest Narwal Freo Z ultra at €549 Best for smoothest obstacle avoidance, great at preventing hair and fur tangles, best smart cleaning mode, easy to clean, and great mopping Not so Great at: vacuuming (compared to other robots), water tanks need to be refilled frequently so it is better suited for smaller homes Why so cheap? It already has a successor and the new flagship the Narwal Flow is going to be released. No eufy models that are close to obstacle avoidance at this price range so no eufy recommendation. Dreame L40 Ultra AE €671 Good at: obstacle avoidance (firmware updates help) but not as smooth since it only has one eye instead of two like Narwal do it needs to go backwards to gauge the distance to something, more rounded vacuuming (better than the Narwal) and mopping performance. Not so good at: not many like the smart cleaning mode, not as easy to clean as you’d need to get down to maintain it. Slightly pared down L40 Ultra

Vomit can be difficult for robots to properly avoid. I recommend dual brushes for fur as they'll generally lift fur out of carpets better. I'd also look at robots with anti-tangle brushes. The cheapest available option will be dreame and Xiaomi robots that can use the anti-tangle tricut brush. I wouldn't recommend Xiaomi for your case, as it only has structured light, so it cannot detect the obstacles you need it to avoid. I'm using the IT and ES websites for reference. Robots with good obstacle avoidance should be the camera-enabled models from these brands: Dreame/MOVA, Eufy, and Narwal. Narwal's Freo Z Ultra is the cheapest at 699 EUR. It also has the best obstacle avoidance and arguably the best smart cleaning mode. It is rather water-hungry when mopping and isn't the best vacuum, but it should be able to get rid of fur, so your mother may only worry about deeper cleans. This one's mop washboard is the easiest to clean as the entire base is completely removable. There's also the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra at 799 EUR, which is a better vacuum and is less water hungry. I did see those in North America report a broken front wheel, but I haven't seen anyone from Europe report this, so I think it'll be okay. I also like how MOVA has a 3-year warranty compared to Narwal's 2-year warranty. This one's mop washboard is not as easy to clean as you'd need to get down or lie on your side to clean under the drainage filter (the washboard itself is actually very good at keeping itself clean). There's also the Dreame X40 Ultra at 799 EUR. The P50 Pro Ultra is a souped-up version of the X40 Ultra. This one's mop washboard is rather annoying to clean with the wipers catching on fur and so many nooks and crannies.

It is mainly a result of confirmation bias, and most online posts are subject to the self-selecting bias. Many well-made robot vacuums can go much longer, and so even well-made combo vacuum and mop robots are still lasting well. Brands I'd go for: Dreame can have well built robots (I'd avoid the aqua 10 roller for now as there seems to be a design flaw) customer service depends heavily on region and there's mixed feedback regarding this; Eufy has generally solid customer service all around; MOVA seems to have pretty solid build quality, other than the p50 for the NA market (broken front wheel) and the z50 (docking issue due to a design flaw), solid customer service seems to be better than dreame's even though they're serviced by the same group as dreame owns MOVA; Narwal which hasbuild quality seems to be pretty good with some reporting it still worked flawlessly even though it fell off a flight of stairs because their cliff sensors are a bit weird, customer service reviews are mixed; Roborock which has build quality seems to be solid overall but obstacle avoidance is their only flaw, mixed reviews of customer service from very negative to very positive); and Xiaomi which has generally solid build quality and customer service for its price (I bought from them before and when something got stuck in the wheel where I couldn't reach it, they fixed it and shipped it back in a week).

https://www.smarthomeassistent.de/saugroboter/ Narwal robots and Roborock’s spinning mop robots have the easiest to clean mop washboard as they’re completely removable (the autoempty Narwal models have a disposable dustbin attachment to avoid cleaning it but I find that rather wasteful). The roborock base qrevo is already a pretty good robot as it’s pretty tangle resistant with an all rubber main brush. Roborock’s generally vacuum better than the Narwal but the Narwal has an antitangle conical rubber and bristle brush that works great with the smoothest obstacle avoidance for camera enabled models with the best smart clean mode. As for models, the narwal’s Freo Z ultra is at 549 euros. However it’s very water hungry and requires constant water tank refilling and emptying. This should be the most cost effective choice if you are mainly concerned with ease of maintenance.

Would work great with long hair and fur, great mopping from spinning mops, has the best computer vision, arguably the best smart cleaning mode. The only tradeoffs are it needing to have its water tank frequently refilled (your home is 80sqm so it shouldn’t need to be refilled nearly as much compared to bigger homes), not as great vacuuming (since you have no carpet this won’t matter as much), and expensive official accessory prices (get from AliExpress or Taobao for it to be cheap).

You are spoiled for options. Dreame, ecovacs, mova, and Narwal have roller mop robots. I’d narrow it down to mova and Narwal imo. Dreame’s Aqua 10 roller robots are clearly based off the MOVA Z60 ultra roller complete (MOVA is a subbrand of dreame but they have completely different R&D teams) but with less downwards force when mopping (dreame does 9-12N and MOVA currently exerts the highest downwards force at 17N). I have seen some people report that their Z60 Ultra Roller’s autoempty port gets clogged with fur but I haven’t had this happen at all after it has cleaned 43,000sqft and I have a long haired corgi that sheds all the time. Narwal is also a good choice with a track type mop exerting 12N but it lacks a detergent tank in the base station so you’d need to manually add the detergent when you refill the clean water tank (up to you to decide how important that is). MOVA did send me their v50 ultra complete and the Z60 ultra complete to review as part of their Reddit collaboration program. Both did great removing overnight dried on kitchen grease in one go. The z60 ultra roller was able to get rid of splattered dog friendly ice cream left by my dog with most of it gone in 1 pass and totally squeaky clean in the second pass. My review of the Z60 ultra roller complete is being finalized~~~

I get a lot of information from people that have them and I also get a lot of help because people try a bunch that I haven't tried and I get to find out real world experience with them. Just like I got an e25 you fee and I'm telling people how I really think about it. I really think that they are coming a long way fast! The other difficult thing is that everybody's got a different type of house or apartment and so what works really well in one house may not work well in another.

I got an e25 eufy and unfortunately it's just OK definitely doesn't use as much water as my Z Ultra but it also doesn't kick out the roller mop to get close to the cabinets it also seems to like to do vacuum and mop the most there were some spots on my lvp that it just didn't get up at all after two times of mopping over them and same thing with some coffee spill in the kitchen mopped twice and didn't get it

Isn't it a mova z50 that is the roller mop?? 🤔 i want to try that or narwal flow... i have narwal freo z ultra now and it is good but uses a Lotta water.. and doesn't get close enough to the kick boards in the kitchen.. none of them so far even e25 and e28.. 28 is cool that it has a hand vac for accidents

I've had a freo z ultra and it's been great since I got it in November last year ?! Pretty easy to maintain and if you get it from costco they give you a bunch of stuff.. my only complaint is the app is a bit wonky..but like the meticulous setting cuz it's predictable pattern ..definitely not perfect but have been happy with it!! Also the flow is on preorder right now for what I paid for the z with 3 yr warranty and extra stuff also

Remember roller mops require more maintenance and don't do as well to get under cabinets if they don't swing out and from what I'm understanding they don't get under as well because of the plastic casing.. did have e25 eufy but sent back (Amazon doesn't give you your money back right away) .. just FYI.. I've been chatting with somebody that works on these robots and says the pads are going to be the lower maintenance of the two.. and I am not unhappy with my current model freo z ultra.. not real thrilled with the vacuuming of it I preferred dreamies a little bit more and eufy e25 was better at vacuuming.. and if you have lvp which I do which is expensive you need it to have less water on the floor and it can't be real hot or you can ruin your floors and I paid a lot of money for my floors!

I still have I8+ roomba and still use it to vacuum as most robots these days are kinda slow because of having to think so hard lol.. most won't clean to the edges sufficiently dreame x40 did cuz of arm but didn't like spin brushes leaving a gap when mopping...narwal z had for 8 mos no real problems but again vacuuming seems better with 2 rollers like roomba's..but does decently enough when mopping and vacuuming..all of them get stuck sometimes 🤔 but freo z does have great obstacle avoidance but uses a bunch of water.. e25 liked but mop didn't extend and vacuum was meh.. have 3i s10 now but it does get stuck in a few places ..doesn't like some carpets but does have water recycling and drawing it from the humidity in air..super cool! also have checked water quality and it is great! for mopping..doesn't leave weird mottleing on my white tile.. but have been hearing people having to return them cuz things go wrong with them?. I also use this one in mop and vacuum mode after roomba goes 1st cuz that seems to help it go closer to cabinets.. I clearly have an issue cuz I want to keep them all! They need better battery life, and faster processing to finish jobs..seems more innovation more problems so depends on your particular house but don't give up the roomba just yet lol I've had mine since it came out!! And it keeps going even with same battery it came with but I take care of it / them maintenance wise..

Unfortunately the robots do have a fatal flaw in his their quality control they are not good but if you get a good one you tend to want to keep them and I have a really good narwhal Z and I have a very good narwhal flow and they both have their applications and that one is better than the other in certain circumstances!

Yup good choices.. I still like the Narwhal Z for a couple of my rooms because it seems to mop more space of the small area of mopping space that's in there because of the larger rugs.. and I have some spots that don't seem to go away very easily and even with the flow going back out several times it didn't clean it enough I think heavier pressure is necessary

The z50 has me interested but not in US..freo z is good but no great for edges..I have an old roomba that vacuums pretty well and gets the edges so I just do another vacuum run then mop and has been great for 9 mos so far..tried a few others eufy s25ultra ultra and the 3i s10 and have to say the water recycling is amazing but also struggles with edges and got stuck in places none did before so..gonna try the flow cuz on paper looks like some decent edge cleaning but don't know how well it vacuums..the dual rollers seem to do best for that..but I have my old roomba for that..plus the pre-order price is reasonable with 3 yr warranty plus extra accessories 😉

I just got a Narwal Freo Z last week at Best Buy for $1099. I like it so far. My floors look clean. We don't expect perfection, just get us by until the monthly deeper cleaning with a full vacuum and mop. The current Narwal iOS app has a battery drain bug I told Narwal about. They responded within 12 hours and escalated to their engineering people. Otherwise the app experience is decent, if a little wonky at times until you figure out the idiosyncrasies and options. I've had no issues with the robot at all. My firewall said the robot sent 2.5 GB to Narwal after a cleaning on Sunday. That bothers me, but I don't know that any of the Chinese manufacturers are strong for privacy. For the price I can't justify the slightly better performance, onboard water tank, and mop pad dropping from the Dreame X50 or Saros 10r. This video has a great breakdown of the three and Ecovacs T50 Pro. The video is really thorough. I recommend slowing down the playback speed, lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SI5wVdZeV4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SI5wVdZeV4)

I had a freo z ultra for a couple weeks and took it back for a saros 10r. Mopping on the Narwal was pretty good, vacuuming just ok. The iOS app has a pretty bad battery drain bug right now too. Also I didn’t like how much data the Narwal sent to servers. In the 2 weeks I had it, my firewall logs showed the Narwal sent over 20 GB of data. I had the remote video disabled so assume it was for vision AI analysis. Still, it shouldn’t need to send that much data. We’ll see if the Flow processes more locally. The Saros 10r by comparison has sent maybe 100 MB in a week. I’m guessing Roborock is doing more AI analysis on the robot.

Dense fur (or multiple large pet) or light and fluffy? Example: husky/ corgi vs pomeranian/Bichon Frisé Dense fur: vacuum only : Narwal X Plus (it is a combo unit but the vacuum is the best part) Mop needed: Narwal X Ultra Light and fluffy: Narwal Z Ultra Both have a roller brush that does not clog. Over a year later and no hair tangles. Both have compression in the dust bin/ bag. The X has a large bin that can be emptied multiple times per day (can fill up quick during shed season). Also optional bag for easy replacement. The Z has auto empty and the light and fluffy fur takes a few weeks to fill, dense fur doesn't compress as well so frequent replacement needed. My experience with 4 pomeranians.

Your idea product doesn’t exist. Set your expectations accordingly. The 10R has one of the more advanced obstacle avoidance technology, but I would still give the edge to the Narwal Z Ultra. Shoestrings, socks and blankets hanging down will likely be a problem. Even if it manages to avoid them once, there’s no guarantee it’ll avoid them the next time. Lighting conditions also matter considerably. Furniture is hit and miss. It tends to get stuck on flat footed furniture like a standing desk would have or anything shiny like a mirror/chrome finish. And you won’t be using your own cleaning solution, unless you’re fine with not having a warranty. Most modern robots are not going to damage your furniture even if they bump it.

You really can’t go wrong if you are willing to spend $1000+ and pick a flagship model. My personal experience is Narwal Freo Z Ultra has the best AI avoidance for things like cords or strings. The brush is also tangle free, allegedly. So that would be great for your cats. Get it at Costco so you can return it if it breaks two years from now or you just don’t like it. Currently on sale too for about $400 off. My second choice would Eufy S1 Pro if mopping is the most important to you. Wait for it to go sale at Amazon for $999. Its AI avoidance is very good, but carpet performance suffers. I’d recommend Roborock but I haven’t owned one yet that doesn’t run right over cords. I have the S8 Max V Ultra. No experience with Dreame or Ecovacs/Yedi. Stay away from iRobot.

Narwal Freo Z Ultra if you want as close to perfect obstacle avoidance and tangle free as you can get. It’s also good at avoiding cords and quiet. Their replacement accessories are ridiculously priced (look elsewhere). Not great on carpet. Eufy S1 Pro rains supreme as a mopping robot, and has decent avoidance but not as good as the Narwal. Terrible at carpet. Have yet to use a Roborock that doesn’t eat cords.

I give Matic the Platinum award for industrial design. It's friendly, fun and blends in. Most people wouldn't even know it's a vacuum. The Gold goes to Narwal. They've really cared about this since the beginning and their competitors—Roborock Curv and DJI Romo—have copied them which I also really like. Silver goes to Eufy's S1 Pro. My family calls it the "Tron vacuum" because of its translucent plastics and illuminating ring. Bronze goes to the MOVA P and V line. I like the white version and I actually prefer the glossy because it's easier to wipe clean. I'd give the Dyson 360 Nav an honorable mention just because it looks beefy, like it's ready for business and comes in a cool color.

They’re about like everyone else. I’ve been pretty happy with my Freo Z Ultra and S20 mop. Buy from Costco if you are concerned. To be honest, none of the Chinese manufacturers have stellar support. It’s mostly outsourced and they use third-party service providers that are hit and miss. Narwal charges too much for consumables. I purchase mine from Ali Express. You can even get the OEM mop pads, just takes awhile to come in.

r/RobotVacuums • What is everyone's experiences with Narwal? I'm debating getting their newest model but a little hesitant due to the price. How do they last long term? What has your experience been with buying replacement mop pads, sweepers, etc? ->

95% of them are sponsored, so take that as you may. But the Narwal Freo Z is great at mopping as it can apply quite a bit of pressure for tile and returns to its base to wet/clean its mop pads often. It doesn’t just spin around dirty mop pads and rewet them. However, It uses a ton of water, even on its lighter settings and has poor edge mopping. Not great, but not the worst on carpet if you turn the settings all the way up. I find their cleaning algorithm annoying, but their AI avoidance is at the top. The Eufy S1 Pro is excellent at mopping (maybe the best!), terrible at carpet and lacks edge cleaning also. It’s a tank though with a nice app. I’m waiting on Roborock to do a roller. I like their app the best, but I just don’t care for rotating mop pads. I’ve been happy with my S8 Max V.

I have an inside/outside cat. He mostly ignores the Freo Z Ultra, but when they do come close to each other, it pauses just like any other obstacle. Now, I don't trust it 100% not to suck up a hairball or vomit. That's asking for trouble. My cat doesn't have accidents unless sick. Anyone that has a Eufy S1 Pro or variant knows cleaning out the onboard dirty water reservoir is a PITA. Narwal has decided to keep that reservoir internal and use some new tech/methods to keep it clean. There's a paddle in the base station that keeps the dirty water mixed and easier to suck up and the Chinese reviews that have removed the onboard reservoir after a few months of use, seem to be favorable. Personally, I think you are going to see more and more of this concept as no-one wants to clean an onboard water reservoir. You still have to clean the dirty water tank on the base station. I suspect, like the Freo Z, the Flow will use a ton of water to keep the track-style mop clean and require refilling after every 1 or 2 uses. Of my robots, the Narwal maintains the cleanest base station and mop pads. That's their trademark (because using lots of water to wash works!) and I suspect the Flow will continue that trend.

You can turn off the hot water washing feature on the Freo Z. So, I expect you'll be able to on the Flow, if you are concerned but it doesn't have an onboard heater. That water may come out warm, but by the time it fills the internal tank up, gets the track mop wet and takes off. It will cool down quickly. It's not like it's a steam mop.

The Narwal Z Ultra would be great for your tile because it can apply 12N of pressure. However, it won’t work with your step up since it doesn’t have an internal water tank. So you can mark both of the Narwal’s off. With all that tile, I would probably lean more toward the Eufy S1 Pro or wait a few weeks to see what the Narwal Flow can do. The QRevo CurvX actually can apply more downward pressure than the Saros 10. You may look into that specific model.

In this list, you pay more for obstacle avoidance and special features like threshold climbing. That's the main difference between the mid and high tiers. And sometimes build quality. If you have a lot of thresholds and need climbing wheels, the Dreame X50. If you have a lot of obstacles that need avoiding (toys, poop, etc), the Freo Z Ultra. It should be heavily discounted for Black Friday since it's been superseded by the Flow and Freo Z10 Ultra. Keep in mind, consumables are higher for the Narwal's. If you want a more well rounded bot with probably the best app, the Saros 10R. But you're gonna pay out the nose—don't pay more than $1399 for it. I'd probably stay away from the Qrevo S at this point. It's the oldest of the bunch. The Freo Z and Saros 10R will feel more premium, if that matters to you. I'd consider the MOVA V50 Ultra Complete too. It's basically an X50 with a nicer base station and cheaper price. Do not buy before Black Friday.
