"The slim itself is pretty quiet when in Balanced mode. When it does bump up the power on the rug in my Living Room, it is still quieter than my old S7 in Max mode. I could NOT watch TV in my living room when running the S7 on vacuum/mop balanced mode. I can however do this with the Slim. Do with this information what you will. It also manages to go under my kitchen cabinets which my S7 never could, due to the LIDAR turret."

"The lowest clearance that I know of are the Roborock Qrevo slim and and the Roborock saros 10r at 3.14 inches. ... So basically it can get under anything 3.2 inches or higher. ... If clearance is your #1 priority, then I would look at the Roborock Qrevo slim or the Saros 10R (newer version) as they are the slimmest I know of at 3.14 inches."

"you want the robot to go under low furniture"

"I have a wool rug in my living room that sheds like a pack of german shepherds. With my S7, I still had to manually vacuum with my Dyson in order to remove both its shedding and dirt. The QRevo Slim however really does good work on carpets and rugs. Post a run with the Slim, my Dyson doesn’t pick up much debris or hair from the rug. The slide out front arm has definitely made a difference around deep corners in my home. I had to manually clean these with a handheld vacuum before."

"The pockets of fur from my chihuahua is gone."

"Just out of curiosity, I ran my old S7 in a specific area for a vacuum and mop cycle. I then followed it with a cycle on the QRevo Slim. It still managed to show up as dark brown water after the mop cycle! This was an eye opener as it meant that the scrubbing ability of the rotating mop heads made a difference on my hard wood floors. It even managed to scuff out certain markings my kid made with a marker on the floor. The slide out mop arm makes a difference around the entry way of my house (near the front door) and near the backyard entrance, for sure."

"My favorite automation so far: Cat uses the litter robot. After the litter robot flushes, wait a few minutes then send the Qrevo Slim out to vacuum up just the area around the litterbot to pick up any stray litter the kitties tracked out."

"So many cloud-attach devices seem to have connectivity problems or keep dropping off of HA, but not this Roborock. It alone seems as reliable as a local device."

"The Slim allows me to set exactly such routines where it would first tackle those two areas – empty and clean itself – and then continue on with cleaning the rest without any manual intervention from me whatsoever!"

"This was a game changer for me. Each night before I ran the S7, I had to manually move and rearrange items on the floor so it didn’t get stuck. With a kid and a dog, it’s easy to have toys under the rug, spoons in random places on the floor etc. My S7 would always get stuck on those and fire away an SOS in the app and I’d have to get outta bed and reset the robot clean cycle. The Slim has made me truly appreciate the *set it and forget it* style I prefer. Yes, I still do move/check for randoms but it doesn’t get stuck up on the stuff I’d miss. 3/4 score in my ultra scientific yet real world test! It even manages to dodge when my dog is sitting on the rug and shows a ‘Pet’ notification in the app! ... Wires - not a problem! ... It did manage to 'touch' the flip flops but didnt mess up ... Nudged the ball but didn't get stuck on it like my S7 did"

"I’m able to map rooms, even on different floors"

"easily fence off areas and objects"

"the q revo series with the spinning mops and auto docks have been amazing for me."

"auto empty, mop cleaning and drying and the ability to refill and store dirty water for a week or two means I rarely have to touch my vacuum (which is a big win for me)."

"They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock."

"Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. ... The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. ... Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. ... having to constantly intervene is super annoying."

"Object detection, specifically the smallest. ... I have cat toys that hang around everywhere and regularly my Q Revo blocks on it. ... Having to put them away before launching the robot and the only reason why I don't start it without my presence. ... This is the worst nightmare for my Q Revo."

"Awful obstacle avoidance."

"The QRevo series has the same issue with some dreame models where the dustbin will be clogged with fur but there’ll be a lot of empty space on the sides."

"it's not up to the level of a mop, or even a hard floor cleaner."

I got the Qrevo Slim. It‘s great due to it‘s low profile, has a self cleaning station with hot water mop cleaning and does a good job in cleaning my space. It has a duo roller which is fine but pet hair does accumulate on the edges quite a lot. So I have to remove those from time to time. From what I’ve heard the split roller is the best for pet hair like the Qrevo Curv X. But that one‘s a little more expensive than the Slim.

I have a Dyson V10 for twice monthly "deep cleans" and a roborock vacuum & mop with self-emptying base. I LOVE it. My husband loves it! I picked the specific model (slim) because it actually fits under my couch. It does get clogs every couple of days from dog hair (we have 3 golden retrievers) but it's worth the 20 second cleanup for days of nice floors. I run it on 3 scheduled zone cleanings every day. It makes life so much easier.

I got a slim that was on sale for my 1 bed 2 bath with hardwood and lots of navigation challenges and it works pretty well.

r/CleaningTipsIs robot vaccum worth it for those without animals that shed a lot ? And just in general for cleaning /mopping floor?

Yes! My entire downstairs is hardwood and tile. Vacuuming and mopping works well on both. I have it do two passes, so it makes a checkered pattern. So even if it misses something the first time, it'll usually pick it up the second pass. I have two Roborocks, a Slim and a Q5+.

Best value is found in the midrange. That's the Qrevo series. \* Qrevo S5V is a complete standard model without the expensive bells and whistles. Above that, \* Qrevo Slim if you need it to go under cupboards with low clearance. It is also the last model with the famous DuoRoller design. Intense working on carpet. \* Qrevo Curv if you like the design and need it to cross thresholds, or like the camera and voice control stuff \* Qrevo Edge S5A or Curv S5X only differ in dock design. Be aware they are less robot than Curv / Edge despite having more fancy letters. Prefer a DuoDivide brush model if you face long hair and want some anti-tangling.

Oh man, sorry to hear, I have the Eufy S1 and it does a pretty good job at getting under things and not getting stuck. But I do believe it is now overpriced for what you get. If clearance is your #1 priority, then I would look at the Roborock Qrevo slim or the Saros 10R (newer version) as they are the slimmest I know of at 3.14 inches. One thing I would definitely do is measure furniture (tables, chairs, end tables, dressers, buffets) and see what height you need and go from there. Some things might require risers if you want to get under everything. I had to do that but now the only place the golden retriever hair can hide is under one couch lol.

Get a Dreame or Mova for best obstacle avoidance. I've owned a Eufy x10, Dreame x40 and Roborock QRevo slim. Out of all of them I rate the Dreame x40 far ahead of the other two with the QRevo slim coming in 2nd and Eufy x10 last I currently have two x40s and their obstacle avoidance is nearly flawless. The robots rarely get stuck or eat cables which lets me run them both daily without having to prep my house or intervene. Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. For your case, I would recommend the Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the base station. And both are very similar to the X40 other than having a slightly smaller battery and slightly different obstacle avoidance sensors while still being as good as obstacle avoidance. The advantage of the L40 and p10 pro ultra is that you are getting X40 level performance but usually around the $500-700 price point.

I‘m really happy with my roborock. I had the s5 max for the last 4(?) years and was really happy with it but decided to upgrade to the qrevo slim for all of it‘s functions. Now my parents have the s5 and are really happy with it

r/homeassistantWhat is the best robot vacuum currently that's really worth buying?

Same. I wish I could do Valetudo, I would strongly prefer to keep everything local. That's a no go with three floors in the house, though. Can we get a fork that supports multiple floors? Even on its regular cloud service, it's been a massive upgrade over what I had before, and it integrates nicely with HA. My favorite automation so far: Cat uses the litter robot. After the litter robot flushes, wait a few minutes then send the Qrevo Slim out to vacuum up just the area around the litterbot to pick up any stray litter the kitties tracked out. So many cloud-attach devices seem to have connectivity problems or keep dropping off of HA, but not this Roborock. It alone seems as reliable as a local device. 9/10, would absolutely buy again.
