"My Roborock S6 Max V doesn't really vacuum up dog hairs, it sort of just pushes the hairs around and leaves them in little bundles on the floor when it turns."
"it can't keep up with the hair."

"My only faulty robot vacuum was a Roborock S6 which had constant bumper stuck/'error 2'. ... It rarely completed a run without restarting the run several times. ... This didn't work for me."
"It does get stuck on small toys and cloths. ... i have ti clear everything on my floor including my doormat."
"The roborock MaxV has no extending side brush for corner cleaning. ... Roborock’s side and edge cleaning algorithm is also rather conservative and won’t extend the side brush out to clean closer to edges if there’s like a toe kick"

"Every year I disassemble it to clean the vacuum filters and vacuum fan intake. It's a terrible design"
My Roborock S6Max has run 5 days a week for the last 5 years in my two bedroom condo. I’ve used my actual vacuum about once every year since then. Not because it needed it, but because I just thought I should. It picks up almost nothing at all because the Roborock does that good of a job every day. My floors always look perfect. If I wipe something off the kitchen counter, I know the Roborock will get it. Since I’ve had it, the Roborock has cleaned 775k square feet, and run a total of 1048hrs. It still looks and runs like new. One of the best things I’ve ever bought.
I have the Roborock S5 and S6 max totally bullet proof. Had to replace the wheels on the S5 as it got trapped under our kitchen units while they where getting replaced and it burnt its self out. Got replacements from Ali Express and its as good as new. Also had to replaced the mop bracket sensor again from Ali Express. They just keep going
I would be opting for something that has AI and can identify 💩 lol. S6 max is pretty solid but I know that there are a lot of upgrades available. Personally we have a Dyson G1 hard floor cleaner to do a proper clean as we feel that the mopping feature just does do a proper job. And top tip? Dont put the vacuums on when you are out and the dogs are inside as the Roborock could go over any mess that the dog might have left lol
I have the S6 MaxV and the Qrevo Edge. The difference between spinning mops like the Edge compared to the static pad that is just dragged along is huge. The dirt was just smeared around with the S6 MaxV, so after several years, when the Edge took over, I could see the floor getting cleaner for every pass, and the waste water was really dark. Also, I have some thresholds and carpets, and the S6 MaxV would get stuck more often than I liked. No problem with the Edge which can lift quite high. All in all, I could not be happier with that upgrade. No hair tangles either, with two cats and a regularly visiting Malamute with difficult hair. I see that the new ones like Narwal Flow may mop even better, but for me, the very increased complexity seems like a potential durability and maintenance problem. The spinning mops on the Edge are dead simple and should last a long time.
The "duo divide" or something like that. Some of the 2024 models had that brush design too. Other ones that are good with hair are the narwal and the new eufys (e25/e28) have the same brush design.watch vacuum wars or the hookup they test handling of hair. That said I have an older roborock s6max and 2 golden retrievers. It picks up the hair pretty well I just have to clean hair off fairly regularly. And if it's been more than a day, I have to empty the bin multiple times per cleaning. I want to upgrade to a eufy e25 depending on the reviews.
The roller style mops are the best. No roborocks have that yet. Therefore it's mid in my opinion. I have an older s6 maxv (one of the very first with obstacle avoidance) and it typically only gets stuck on small cords. But it does pretty well with furniture and even dog toys.
I've been using my roborock s6 maxv for 4 years. I saw another post recently where some people had more hours on theirs.
I emailed roborock about my s6 maxv Getting stuck in a certain place and they sent me a free strip that can block the path. 4 years later and it's still working ok. Soo, plus one for roborock.
I'm hijacking your post trying to get some help too because I'm in the same boat. But I've also been researching for a few months and I have some thoughts that might be helpful. I have 2 goldens and no carpet. I don't have any first hand experience with any of the newer vacuums, but here is where I am. I'm Strongly considering the narwal flow. Right now it's $1100. The reviews even for the older narwals which have the same brush design seem to highlight how it can handle hair. It even has a way to clean hair off the side brush which has been a problem for me. And the 3rd wheel is behind the main brush, which for the amount of fur you and I get should be helpful! The saros 10r also seems good. I'm fairly happy with my roborock s6 as far as build quality and reliability, but it can't keep up with the hair. Possibly the eufy e25 as well, but the super loud base station and some quality issues make me leery. I used to think I needed a roller or track mop, but just a dad thinks the spinny mops will be less maintenance so, now I don't know. 1. Narwal flow. Pre order deal sounds pretty good. The negative stuff I've seen so far is related to carpet performance and no detergent dispenser. Promised matter support is also a bonus especially if it's 1.4. 2. Roborock saros 10r (a little above budget but I'm sure there will be discounts soon) 3. Mova v50. this one might actually be the best, but I'm not sure about reliability and build quality. Claims it has some anti smell features. 4. Eufy e25 At the moment the roborock and the mova v50 are more than I'm willing to spend, but I'm sure that won't be the case for long. Edit. One think I wonder about is how well they empty mass amounts of hair. Perhaps a mova or dreame with the tricut brush would be even better.
I have been using the Roborock S6 MaxV for several years now. At the time I bought it, it was their best model. It is still working great now. I dont use the mop function though.
My next roborock will likely be a Qrevo Edge S5A. I've had a roborock S6 MaxV, a brief stint with a eufy Omni c10, and currently a roborock Q7 m5+. My S6 MaxV *had* mopping function, but I didn't really use it. I only stopped using it because I got a hankering for a self emptying vacuum base and pulled the trigger on the eufy. The eufy I recommend against. Their app is Far inferior to the roborock and their obstacle detection is so bad the it scratched up the main sensor area so badly that they gave me a full refund after having had it just less than a year. I did use the mop, didn't really care for it, though it was nice that it auto emptied and filled at the dock. I'm liking the Q7 M5+ a lot so far. We have three cats, a dog, amd a baby. Again, not using the mopping function on it. The auto empty base is nice and small since it doesn't do anything water related. The first time we ran it, it picked up a hex wrench I had dropped behind the couch. The reason I think the Qrevo Edge S5A (or its successor) will likely be my next robot is that it has a super high claimed suction power (22k kPa), which definitely makes a difference with pulling crap out of my rugs. My house is primarily hardwood and tile with short pile rugs in certain areas. It does have a mop on it and auto filling&emptying water, but I'm not certain I would use the mop because the mops with that mode of action really just spread stuff more than anything. The most effective mopping mode of action appears to be that of the switchbot S20. My 'dream' robot would be one that combined the suction of the Qrevo Edge S5A with the mop of the switchbot S20, with the base of the Saros 10 with refill&drainage (looks like the Saros 10 also actually has a high suction, so I guess the Saros 10 is *almost* my 'dream' robot)
I can only speak about our experiences, but both our previous and current Roborock (S6 MaxV and S8 Pro Ultra) have navigated our apartment flawlessy for a combined 5½ years. Not once got stuck or couldn't find their way back to the dock.
Our S6 MaxV couldn't clean our house on a single charge anymore, so we replaced it with the Qrevo Slim. It was the only option that wasn't to high to fit under our furniture.
Hello, I wanted to leave my opinion regarding the Saros 10R. I previously had the S8 vmax ultra and the change was brutal regarding the scrubbing, especially on the edges attached to the baseboard. The only thing is that every time I use it I have to refill clean water and empty the dirty one. Since the last update this is no longer the case, now it is 2 times a week the S8 Vmax Ultra were changing the water 2 times a month if I remember correctly. I'm delighted. My house is all windows and mirrored closets and both have given me problems, but I have been able to solve it. By the way, the first one I had was S6 Vmax and what a change they have made now.
I have owned the Ecovacs T80 since August. It is basically identical to the Yeedi M14. I have previously owned the Roborock S6 MaxV and Dreame D9 Pro, so I have a fair amount of experience with robot vacuums over the 4 years I have owned them. I have a dog and 2 small children, so I run it almost daily, and my experience over the past 3 months has been great. I think for the price point it is a great buy.
I have a Roborock S6 MaxV which I have been using since 2021 and a new Ecovacs T80 with a roller mop. I find that the Roborock has a clear advantage in terms of navigation and obstacle avoidance, although the S6 MaxV is an older model it never gets lost in my house and usually moves quickly and I don't find it confused when navigating during cleaning. On the contrary, the Ecovacs T80 is much newer but I find it moves quite slowly and usually when moving through rooms it often seems to get confused in front of the door for about 15-30 seconds, and in 3 months of use I have seen it get lost twice and not be able to return to the charging dock. However, the Ecovacs mopping ability is very good, the roller is really effective and my floors have never been cleaner. Roborock has just introduced the Curv 2 Flow model, and I have experienced it at a friend's house. It seems that because it is the first generation, the cleaning ability of this model is quite bad. Its roller is too long (27cm compared to 18cm of my T80's roller) and the number of water nozzles is similar to the Ecovacs model (both have 8), so the water is absorbed onto the roller unevenly, leading to many streaks during the cleaning process. Its ability to self-wash the roller is also quite poor. So in my opinion, if you need to buy a model with the roller mop right away, you should consider the Ecovacs models because the frequency of getting lost twice in 3 months is actually quite low as I let it work every day (so 2 times lost in about 100 times of doing the task). Otherwise, you can wait for Roborock to introduce another model in 2026 to consider.
In terms of hardware, I find Roborock and Ecovacs to be of similar quality. However, in terms of software, Roborock has an advantage. Specifically, in terms of phone applications, Roborock's application is more intuitive and easier to use, and while the features are similar, Ecovacs' application has slightly more complicated settings, which takes more time to learn. In addition, as I mentioned above, Ecovacs's model seems to be less intelligent than Roborock in terms of navigation and obstacle avoidance. I think it's mostly because Ecovacs's LIDAR sensor is designed to be hidden in the body of the machine, not placed on the top of the robot, so the limited range of vision affects the robot's response speed. However, in my country, Ecovacs seems to have an advantage in price, with the same features, I find that the Ecovacs model is usually about 10-15% cheaper. In addition, recent Ecovacs models use many common parts together, so buying replacement parts is very easy. For example, when Ecovacs introduced the X11 model, they changed the material of the roller to increase cleaning efficiency, and this new roller can be backward compatible with old models such as the X8 X9 T80, so I am planning to buy that roller to upgrade my T80 model.
