"i have a roborock s7 max ultra and its fantastic, even with this bloody awful thick pile carpet i cant wait to rip out, im not a tidy person terribly and i have a cat who sheds about 2 cats worth a week and regularly knocks bits of his dry food all over the place. the poor little bugger works hard but it does a fantastic job, ive been nothing but impressed"

"After walking them in rainy or muddy weather, having a robo mop take care of the mess is a real help. ... on our hardfloors, the robos are an excellent support and really do lighten the workload ... the convenienve of not needing to mop the house after you worked for a full day is worth it to us. ... So, 30 minutes for 7 days a week comes down to 3.5 hours of mopping saved. ... So if you want your floors to be somewhat halfway clean, you need to mop them daily (at least once). So yes, for us, the mopping robot makes a lot of sense and is a real help."

"it's absolutely mint ... I have a three bedroom house and it punishes the dirt and grime."

"The self emptying base station is a must for dog owners"

"best vacuuming particularly if you pair it with an auto empty dock"

"The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient"

"We have four roborock S7’s running in our 5,000 sqft office. ... Bought them since they first came out years ago. ... They run every day. ... Only last year did we replace the battery for all 4. ... Other than that, no issue at all, rock solid, very pleased that we also have them for our homes too."

"in the app it will show you a layout of your home after it runs once which you can separate into rooms. I like this feature as I can schedule my kitchen to run daily and the rest of the house twice a week."

"The Roborock app works quite well and I find it easy to set up no go zones."

"works with home assistant"

"It will pick up much more dust, dirt, hair, cat litter and other debris than the S7. ... It performs very similarly to the S7, and has a very similar vacuuming module with the upgraded rollers that reduce hair tangling. The S8 just picks up far more dust, dirt and hair than the Saros 10R. As a vacuum cleaner only, the Saros 10R does a fairly average job."

"vacuum performance on carpet isn't great ... I end up going over it with a dyson"

"Having two dogs I would go on record saying that the S7 does a less worse job than the S8 on short pile carpets. ... But still to get it somewhat okayish clean, I use a normal vacuum twice a week"

"I have hair just above the shoulders and it would get very stuck on my roborock s7."

"Näin 3 pitkäkarvaisen koiran taloudessa laite on puhdistettava aikalailla joka rundin jälkeen telaa ja sivuharjaa myöten, se on niin täynnä tavaraa."

"that long hair got stuck on the S7 all the time."

"the robot has no obstacle avoidance ... In terms of obstacles, that‘s pretty much the main reason why I added the 10R to my other floor where my cat and his toys are, it has great obstacle avoidance."

"If I leave them, they'll get chewed, tangled up.. it'll take robo 5x the amount of time to navigate around crap and by the time it cleans up some rooms it'll run out of battery."

"doesn't avoid everything ... it will and can still hit animal waste ... wouldn't rely on it if you have pets that are known to get sick or have an accident"

"I wish I had auto refill/empty so I could mop automatically ... right now I just check the fluids before/during most mops"

"my roborock s7 is starting to feel aged with no water tank in the dock."

"It's also important to remove the pad and run it through the clothes washer every few weeks. It tends to get matted after awhile."

"My S7 basically vacuums up the chunks and then mops the liquids. ... The biggest issue for me is that the moist chunks gum up the vac tray in the dock and I have to clean it regularly. ... The robot scoops up wet barf chunks that get in the dust bin and when the dock empties the dust bin the wet chunks stick to the dock and when they dry it’s like concrete since they mix with cat hair and dust that gets swept up. ... I have to unscrew the dust bin emptying chute and clean it in the sink and sometimes need a screwdriver to scrape the stuff off."

"What I don't like is the mechanism in the dock to wash the mops. It is complicated and requires too much maintenance. Without good, frequent maintenance, the S8's mop cleaning mechanism will fill up with mud, hair and debris and can clog. The same is true for the mechanism for washing the mops in the S7's dock."

"Tyhjennys telakka olisi ihan turha kapistus tälle, koska karvaa niin paljon joka välissä et puhdistettava kumminkin."

r/RoborockAre any of the newer models better at dealing with hair than s5 max?

I have s7 ultra max. The brush is different so prevent hair wrapping around though it still does at the edges sometimes. The only time I had issues with emptying was when I tried to use generic bags. They were supposed to work but didn’t seal right so dust was escaping and clogging the vacuum part.

I’ve been happy with Roborock (ours is older, s7 ultramax I think, mood and vacuums). I just wish there was a robot to dust everything and remove hair from non floor surfaces! (I have a 70lb collie Aussie mix with serious undercoat but this post showed up on my feed)

r/CleaningTipsAny good robot vacuums for picking up PET HAIR? What do you use?

Our Roborock works well on our hard floors but I do sometimes need to do the rugs manually

r/homeownersWhat robot vacuums for pet hair do you absolutely swear by? Good brands that you love?

Our first was an old hand me down eufy. Just kind of bumbled around randomly. Still helped, but had to maintain a lot. I ended up getting a Roborock s7 ultra that makes a map and mops and vacuums. Run every night in the main rooms and a few times a week in bedrooms and I haven’t cleaned floors manually in months. Helped with old dog (pit bull mix that shed a lot) and new dog (collie with super long hair).

r/FrugalIs it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier?

We got a Roborock s7 ultra and it’s so helpful. We have a hairy dog. We haven’t spent time on the floors in months.

r/CleaningTipsWill I regret getting a robot vacuum?

I also love my Roborock (S7 ultra I think). Going on two years and only have to do minor maintenance. After my last dog passed, I started to wonder if it was worth it and turned down the frequency, but now I have a new very fluffy collie and it runs every night. On the off chance it doesn’t run (gets stuck, etc - not too often) I can tell right away 🤣

I personally can heavily recommend Xiaomi. Idk how exactly the circumstances are, but Xiaomi and Roborock make the same vacuumrobots with Roborock just doing the "premium line". But you will get 90% of what the Roborock does, but mutliple times cheaper. Just compare the Xiaomi X20+ with the Roborock S7 Max Ultra and their prices when they released... idk was like 500€ vs 1800€. Our old Ecovacs constantly rotated its map and thus was completely useless.

r/RoborockIs the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it?

We have the S7 Max Ultra and it has Vibrarise. It’s not great for stains that have dried (coffee, tomato etc) in but it does an excellent job and our tile/marble floors always look noticeably cleaner after. What we tend to do now is run normal vac and mop as our normal day to day and then once a week we’ll run a 2x cycle of vacuum first followed by intense mop. When you run the mop by itself you get a lot more options on how thorough you want it to be. I still think a DIY mop is needed every so often because it doesn’t reach everywhere and can struggle to get deep enough into the grout between tiles but it has taken away a lot of hassle for us in our home.

My wife just got one of the vacuum/mop ones, our house is rather cluttered,4 kids 2 dogs and once it was setup correctly it’s phenomenal. The way it navigates around furniture is really cool and our floors look fantastic, no missed spots at all.

I don’t have a lot to compare to (apart from an old roomba and Roborock that were both meh), but my current Roborock s7 max ultra does a good job. I run it on very high and usually have it do two passes.

Whatever you do, do not miss out on self cleaning. It's like the most important part. It makes your life better, easier and cleaner. That being said, we have an S7 and it's a great one. Deals with two long haired outdoor cats, my hip length hair and WHATEVER my toddler and husband do to the floor absolutely perfect. It's immaculate. I've cut down vacuuming from daily to once a month, mopping from every 3-4 days to once a month, too and the water is mostly clean. ETA it's like 300€, so should fit your budget.

It's the [Roborock S7 max ultra ](https://de.roborock.com/pages/roborock-s7-max-ultra?srsltid=AfmBOopAAqgBlmkzkszMaZViGEISqfQ-5NtJ5KeeNBQz9NiF7UOhioh8) with the cleaning station. An older model, but absolutely sufficient for regular use. Beware, there is a "max ultra v" version with a camera. It's more expensive and useless, unless you always wanted to experience your flat from a guinea pig view. Sorry, the link is German, but I think it should redirect you.

We have an S7 with the automated station and let me tell you, if someone made me choose between ✨Dustin✨ and my husband, you better get the divorce papers ready.

I also have two pugs, my S7 Max Ultra has been fantastic. You may read about dog hair causing issues, but it seems to handle pug hair fine. It's not long enough to tangle the rollers. Just make sure to vacuum often enough that \\dust bins don't get too packed and empty properly. Our pug Grogu is highly reactive, but even he was able to get used to it. Pet accidents I think are the biggest risk. I wouldn't recommend running them on a fully automated schedule, always do a quick check before running the robot. https://i.redd.it/9pk42gasvmef1.gif

For sure, the struggle is real! Our robots help tremendously, just don't expect it to fully get all the hair out of carpet in one pass. We have one fawn and one black pug, and under the bed you could see all the black hairs because our standard vacuum doesn't reach there. It took many passes, but the robot has mostly cleaned all that up. Newer models with dual rollers are supposed to be even better, but we're pretty satisfied with what the S7 has. Some encounter an issue with the robot not being able to empty the dust bin because pet hair clumps up too much. I only see that when I haven't run the robot frequently enough in shedding season. Manually emptying the dust bin is pretty easy anyway.
