"Self emptying is a must."
"I have the Shark robot vacuum that self empties. I love it. ... I empty the reservoir once every week or so and there is plenty in there. ... It’s worth spending a little more on these robot vacuums because the self emptying is huge, especially if you have square footage to cover."
"you can get the Shark Refurbs that auto empty for sub $100 ... it sweeps and mops and self empties."

"Mine maps and shows you the actual map of everything in the room including the obstructions like furniture."
"It maps way better too, plus it does the whole map in one pass. ... The roomba didn't properly map my house for 3 months."

"If it doesn't get run at least once a day, the roller brush will get clogged."

"It empties itself when it's in vacuum only mode, which doesn't do me any good because i'm always having to mop since I also have LVP."

"can’t see the robot moving around the map with the matrix version"
"App is not the best"
https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP9JB7FYVb2PB-eqaPL/ Check this one out it’s deeply discounted mops and vacuums with canister Been using ours for one month it’s been best one we have had doesn’t seem to get stuck climbing almost one inch floor height difference and maps house giving you option to send to specific rooms to clean or schedule whole house
I have 4 SHARK (model series 25??+ and 2650) I am impressed with their performance they are rebuilt units for under $200.00 and have been in service for several years. I would have prefered separate mop and vacuum units, however I did not want that many robots in my house I have 2 homes.
FYI they have a refurb shark on sale today for $100 [https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1](https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1)

I returned my shark matrix 2 in 1, I returned my ecovacs t20. Both out of the box would not return to the station. The shark cleaned ok and had a terrible map. The t20 cleaned great and had a good map, but the app froze every single time. The eufy x10 Omni cleans great and works.
I recently got this one, but without the mop feature. I have been struggling with it. Apparently, it does not work unless it is connected to WiFi and you use the app. I have a hard time getting it to stay connected to WiFi even though it is docked right next to the router.
Shark Matrix 2 in 1 is a budget friendly option. We refill the tank every day and replace the mop pad (machine washable), so only takes a couple of minutes of maintenance a day. And it maps the house so you can tell it to only clean certain rooms if you want and has an app/scheduling
I've had a Matrix for 3 years and a Matrix 2 in 1 for 1 year and they have been extremely reliable! I've got two long haired cats and these deal with hairs like a charm!
I have to say you're right, the app is junk and a hassle to setup. Once you're up and running and you don't have to interact with the app, I think they're a fabulous value!
I've been running the same schedule and map since I've acquired my OG Matrix 3 years ago. Haven't had a single problem with it. The main issue I've had with the 2 in 1 is that the area avoidance for the mop tend do not work. The work around has been the create a room for the area I want it to avoid and excluding it from the scheduled clean.

I have the Shark Matrix 2 in 1, and am quite happy with it. I dont know how it compares to others though....
I just got the narwhal Freo pro. I upgraded from the horrendous shark matrix 2-1. It is amazing. The only down side is that I have to buy cleaning tablets for it and dust bags. And unfortunately no off brand company makes the dust bags for this model. So I buy the dust bags for ultra. It fits all the same :). It’s also on sale on Amazon for 460$, originally 700$
My downstairs (small space) is all tile, so I just use a shark matrix 2 in 1. I’m waiting to replace it with a narwhal. I vacuum all the carpets manually.
Same, fuck you shark. It won't mop until it recognizes that it's in the correct room, EVEN WHEN YOU TELL IT TO DO THE WHOLE HOUSE. Until then, it just wanders around aimlessly. Fucking useless piece of shit. Some days it just will not do anything. Just won't recognize any room.
Yeah I clean out the brush every week. It usually gets so tangled with hair you kind of have to. I basically clean the whole thing every week. So far it has lasted about a year. I have a shark Matrix. It can never find the room and it never works with Google though
It's about a wash for me. I have a shark Matrix. I have to spend about 20 minutes wrangling with it to get it to actually clean the floor for 10 minutes. It will not start vacuuming / mopping until it recognizes what room it's in. Unfortunately, it just won't recognize the room sometimes. Maybe a piece of furniture got moved, or there's shopping bags on the floor, whatever. It just won't do anything. It just wanders around uselessly and I keep having to pick it up and put it in a new spot. Some days it just wanders around aimlessly until it's out of batteries and then goes back. Some days it just immediately goes back without ever doing anything at all. Oh and it disconnects itself from Google everyday. So I can't use the Google home to give it commands, which is one of the primary reasons I bought it. So yeah, they can save you time, but make sure you get a good one.
